I’ve already said it, I’ll say it again, Mal du Pays is such a visceral and clever word to describe Siffrin’s Sadness. When I first saw it in game it genuinely made me pause like. Yes, it translates to homesickness. But it has the literal word for country in it. “Country sickness”. For a guy whose core problem is that his childhood, his culture, his country is missing. One could argue it’s a twisted pun. I’m obsessed with it.

while the stables scene is a great example of percabeth's growth as a couple, particularly regarding their switch of roles in who plans for their future. an even better example is when they first told the other they loved them. annabeth, who is a well-respected strategist due to how well she can plan for the future, tells him as quickly as possible before something or someone could take him away from her again. she seized the first opportunity she had free of plan. percy, on the other hand, who is known for his impulsiveness and reckless planning, tells her two books later. not because he wasn't head over heels the entire hoo series. but because he was planning for the right moment. he wanted to wait until he could give her permanence and stability on a silver platter because he knows how much it means to her.

It’s just a headcanon.

It’s a very popular headcanon that Color’s complex trauma surrounding having his entire existence erased, forgotten, and replaced leads to intense fears of being replaced, forgotten, nonexistent, ignored, overlooked, or alone and abandoned—as he also does canonically fear being alone very very much— has led to him becoming obsessed with leaving reminders of his existence and presence and memory.

Often times he probably panics, dissociates, or gets angry if he feels like he’s being forgotten or ignored—even if it’s as simple as someone refusing to look at him when he’s speaking. Likely needing acknowledgment and reminders from his loved ones that he does still exist and they haven’t forgotten him.

Marking places and items with markers or pencils or even via carving in the pillars of the Last Corridor when in the Void, hoarding things (even unimportant things), obsessively journaling and scrapbooking, marking and keeping track of time a lot, refusing to heal any marks scars or wounds on his body, always having a camera or phone with a working camera nearby to take pictures of just about every memory and experience he has. Likely keeping every single gift someone gives him, and probably taking pictures of said gift to put in a picture album.

And because Color is also commonly HC’d as autistic as well, many also see photography as one of Color’s special interests. On top of that, due to Color’s severe skull injury, it’s possible that he fears forgetting things and people and losing track of time and moments as well—on top of the possible heavy dissociative episodes and how some people have HC’d him to struggle with maladaptive daydreaming, its likely he could struggle with memory loss as well.

Everybody has the theory that Armand turns Daniel out of anger; but my theory is that Daniel gets injured, or has like a heart attack or something (the guy is old and has parkinson's, and Louis was trashing his house okay?) and Armand is SCARED AF and ends up turning him out of fear of Daniel dying, like in the books.

And then Armand immediately regrets it, and nopes the fuck out of there; and instead of the Devil's Minion where we had Armand following Daniel, we will have Daniel searching for Armand.

Just think of it, it would be a nice comparison to the book.

keigo in my newer style since I finally watched s7!! 🧡🌟

I had sooo much fun choosing what I would headcanon/fancast his features as (peep the dimples, i like those heheh,, i just know in-universe there would be at least one fan account dedicated to them lol). My style these days is a lot more grounded in realism so it was hard finding references without an exact face to use-- kind of like a collage. I like how it turned out! I hope this fed my MHA followers & mutuals for a bit, I hath not forgotten you~~!! I really enjoyed season 7, I already know the major beats of what happens next in the manga but I haven't actually read it so I'm waiting with bated breath!!

So about that part in Ever Crisis where Sephiroth tries to call Genesis, I used Google Translate to try and see the actual translation of the original Japanese script. "頼む･･････出てくれ•"

Google Translate translates it as "Please...please come out."

I looked up 頼む(tanomu) and it translates as "to ask; to beg; to request" and 出てくれ(dete kure) translates to "to appear or to come out."

Is Sephiroth literally begging for Genesis to reveal himself?

Aaaa!! Yes, he is! I actually hadn’t translated this bit yet, but yes that phrase is very…pleading.

"頼む･･････出てくれ•"

“Please…please come forth…”

The second part of the phrase does indeed mean to “come forth, reveal oneself.” Sephiroth is pleading for Genesis to appear out of…wherever he is. The tone is desperate.

So yes, it works in context with the phone-call. Sephiroth wants Genesis to show up on the other end.

Yet knowing the deeper context of the current events, and Genesis’ desertion, it is almost like Sephiroth is saying,

“Please…please come back…”

He is terrified for Genesis. This is one of the few times I have seen Sephiroth express genuine anxiety and desperation as an adult.
