He opens his eyes and watches as an older man immediately notices him and starts looking him over, "Master Tim, how are you feeling?" He asks with slightly furrowed brows.

Which coincidentally makes the noise stemming from arguing voices elsewhere quiet as everyone in the room seems to look over at him- some in more concern than others he notices absently.

Tim (he assumes) on the other hand feels pretty… neutral? Rolling his shoulders around, he goes through a routine of checking over his body parts before concluding that he's physically totally fine.

Besides the fact he has no idea who any of these people are.

Or that he didn't know his name until the older man in front of him said it.

"I feel pretty okay actually. Why? What happened?"

There’s the hc that Tim used to follow the bats around as a child, right? Well, I js had a cracky idea regarding that:

being the weirdo he is, baby!tim probably wanted to have a concrete fake identity, right? so what if he cosplayed as an alley kid to keep away the muggers? what if he had a specific garb that he wore every night? what if that specific garb was an obnoxiously bright red hoodie that slowly dirtied over time?

and what if the Crime Alley Residents started recognizing him walking around everywhere?

Crime Alley Resident #1: “the alley kid with the camera twice the size of his face…”

Resident #2: “the one in the red hoodie?”

eventually, “the one in the red hoodie” shortens to “red hoodie” and then maybe “red hood.”

soon enough, the entire alley treats him like an urban legend or a neighborhood stray cat.

but then he disappears.

and then a few years later, the “Red Hood” pops up. at first, the residents assume that their Red Hoodie went through some shit and came back for them, but it becomes glaringly clear that he’s not the same kid. he doesn’t even take the usual treats from their windowsills! so the whole alley is pissed at the goofy theatre kid trying to commit identity theft.

(p.s. if Joker Junior happens in this AU, “Red Hoodie” would be a good reason Joker kidnaps Tim. I imagine Joker would be pissed that his old name was being used on some kid)

Yes!!!! The layers of this is beautiful.

I do like the JJ addition as well. The hilarious part of this would be Red Hood breaking into TT to confront Robin. Tim is just glaring at him and huffs. "Red Hood was my mantle! You're not even doing half the responsibilities of it."

Now Jason has to grapple with the fact that he stole Tim's other ID and is somehow doing worse at it.

A great addition is Tim trying to throw the Robin role back at Jason because he wants his OG one back (Bruce is a pain in the ass as well. Tim did not sign up for a parent, and Jason could just go home).

The fic "The Kid" by siren_of_the_ocean doesn't have Jason, but similar vibes.

I'm looking for a fic that I read like a long time ago the batfamily like forgets Tim's birthday Damian finds out and one of the last lines is him like staring Bruce in the face and threatening him, and I really would like to read it again so if anyone knows what that is, please let me know

Do you have any fic recs when Tim just finally looses his shit on the batfam, like he's already frustrated and someone does something that just slightly ticks him too far off and he just breaks, screaming, crying, breaking things kinda anger

Oof. I definitely do. Forewarning, some of these are not friendly to other batfam members. I don't agree with outright blaming other members (besides Bruce), but Tim is venting and angry and hurt. These fics deal with those emotions and tend to acknowledge that there's many sides and points to arguments. I don't agree with character bashing the batkids.

"Some Days" by faithms. As the summary dictates, Tim, after not receiving an apology for a year, walks up to his oldest brother and knees him in the dick. Very amazing fic.

"He's Done Caring" by AkwardBlueFish. Tim tells the Bats what his biggest regret is.

"The Fear of Falling Apart" by Sohotthateveryonedied. Tim returns to the Gotham just to deal with the rise of corpses (this is before he proves Bruce is alive, but after the desert). When he's trying to sneak out, Dick asks him to stay. Tim gets mad.

"Burning Rubber" by Huntressundone. Tim breaks the second most regarded rule of the Bats cause he's pissed.

"Lesson Learned" by Blacksheeperton. This is more about Tim reaching that point of anger where he gives up on his relationships with the Bats.

"Everyone Has An Angry Phase" by faitms. Tim talks with Barbara, Alfred, Kon, and Cassie about his issues with them to prevent himself from causing mass amounts of murder, destruction, and pain.

"So I said To Him I Said" by TicciJack. Tim dares Jason to call him Replacement again. Jason does. There's consequences.

"cough syrup" by DairyFarmer. Tim tells Bruce that either Damian leaves or Tim does. He's tired from constantly being asked to put up with the abuse.

Dick… is aware. He’s aware that he’s not doing well. He’s aware that Tim isn’t doing well. Hell, he’s aware that Alfred isn’t doing well.

What with Bruce being… well…

He’s aware.

But, as he stares at his little brother telling him that Bruce is alive, he can’t help but feel anything but relief. In fact, he feels a lot of bad feelings about it, and then very quickly adds guilt to those bad feelings since he can’t think of anything positive to say.

Because he’s aware that he’s not well. And that Tim isn’t well. And that Alfred isn’t well.

But they weren’t well before Bruce died, either.

OR Dick believes Tim about Bruce being lost in time. But believing isn't the issue.

As the detective turns on the recorder, Izuku wonders how absolutely exhausting it must be to have to go through every student and staff in UA and ask them if they're the traitor. After Bakugou's kidnapping, Nedzu gave the school a full lockdown. No one's been allowed in or out until the Detective gives the A-okay, which is kind of ironic because if the Detective was the traitor then that would just cause chaos.

"My legal name is Midoriya Izuku," he says calmly and with careful words.

"True. What is your quirk status?"

Here he hesitates. And obviously for a second too long if the twitch in the Detective's right eyebrow means anything.

"...well u-um legally I'm quirkless so…"
