hii i really like ur writing! you have the exact same favs as me hehehe

can you do some Cypher, Viper, Fade and Neon HCs for a reader that's shy but easily excited and really likes hanging out with them? i feel like all four of our favs have some degree of "being confused when people want them around despite everything" and that's honestly *chefs kiss* (although some would open up more easily than others)

of course!! this is such a fun concept! i did kind of half established relationship/ meeting/ up to interpretation for relationship status but i hope you enjoy :D

Cypher

He’s not sure when this became a habit, but a little mouse has become regular company in his workshop

By little mouse, he means you

It’s not unwelcome by any means and it’s not like his workshop is closed off to anyone

But he can’t exactly fathom why

He’s not the most welcoming looking person and most of the protocols are suspicious of how much he knows about them

Despite your quiet demeanor, it seems you’ve taken that to mean you can now learn about him as much as you want

Cypher likes to play the radio, either some lo-fi playlists or work background music

Sometimes he hears you humming along and smiles to himself

After awhile he figures it would be rude not to offer you some tea or a drink

The two of you bond talking about tech

One time you ask about what work he’s doing on his trips and he laughs cheerfully

“Well, I’m experimenting with different string tensions for my wires. You see, a simple horizontal tripwire is straightforward. But finding the tension for a perpendicular one? One time I caught the other Jett in it and she was like a fly in a spiderweb. I’m trying to perfect that.”

He would love collaborating on new traps and lineups with you

He also appreciates that you’re quiet. Not because he hates talking (the opposite— this man never shuts up if you let him), but because you see things others don’t

On missions, you’ll be the one to tell him, “they always send someone up long” and help him adjust his set ups.

He’s not sure what he did to deserve your trust and friendship, but he’ll do his best to never break that

Viper

She’s someone who prides herself on maintaining a certain level of professional distance/ fear with the other members of the protocol

That’s why you bewilder her

She doesn’t understand why you don’t cower from her and always greet her quietly in the mornings, a small smile on your face

But Viper only really starts paying attention to you when you save her on the field, shooting someone who had been about to come up behind her through her poison

When you express interest in her work and her poison, she counts it as reasonable repayment to actually take the time to explain things to you

What she doesn’t expect is for you to keep coming back

It’s always under the excuse of something, “oh, Brimstone asked me to forward this message to you.” “Why didn’t he just page me?” “I was on the way, I didn’t mind! Also I brought coffee.”

She did appreciate the coffee. The company wasn’t bad either.

It’s been a long time since anyone viewed her as the researcher she once was (except for those who wanted to use the information to poke at old wounds), and with actual interest

Eventually, she starts coming to you for your thoughts. As someone with a science background yourself, but who left academia for your own pursuits, your insights are… refreshing

It’s a working relationship, she tells herself, nothing more. She doesn’t know if her heart could stand making it more than that.

Fade

It takes a long time for Fade to warm up to you, much less even acknowledge your presence when you hang around her outside of missions

She appreciates that you’re a quiet person— i.e. Raze, as welcome as her friendliness is compared to the cold shoulders she’s been getting, can be a bit overwhelming

What she doesn’t expect is that you’re genuinely interested in her and her powers

As a fellow insomniac, the two of you tend to run into each other in the common area at odd hours

Over time, the two of you start chatting over Fade’s slow brew coffee

It’s fair to say most of the Valorant protocol don’t sleep well after everything you all have been through, but you’re the first one who appreciates her, even when her presence affects you all

Once the two of you are comfortably friends, you don’t hesitate to talk Fade’s ear off about Gothic architecture (she secretly loves it)

Though she seems really reserved, she’ll always do what she can to make you feel more comfortable, such as setting a mug of tea out for you in advance so you don’t have to ask

If the two of you go out, she’s the meme “they ASKED for no pickles”

Fade definitely has one or more cats and the two of you could hang out and the only activity be sitting in silence and playing with them

If you’re into video games, you would love playing Bloodborne and showing Fade all the lore bits. She would comment on what parts of the eldritch plane they got right or not, but finds it all really interesting regardless

You always have the best conversations with her, particularly at 2am and on

Neon

Neon is a very social person, she loves hanging out with the others in the protocol, whether it be to dim sum or karaoke, she’s always game

When she’s not in a group, she’s definitely less energetic/ reduces the tough exterior that she puts on when she’s in the zone

But she’s obviously the more extroverted between the two of you and loves dragging you out and pushing your comfort zone

At the same time, she would never want to make you uncomfortable and really just wants to spend time with you

Like Jett, she loves hanging out to eat food, whether from a casual food truck or sit down (she’d also use the opportunity to take the pressure of talking off of you)

When you finally get comfortable enough to talk about your interests, she’s happy to sit and listen (though she’ll ask endless questions if you let her)

Neon is like an excitement feedback loop, if you’re enthusiastic about something, she’ll double that energy back

While she doesn’t really struggle with the “wondering why people want to hang out around her”, if the two of you grow closer and if anything happened to you from her powers, she would take the responsibility very heavily

She could definitely overthink things in her head, working over her thoughts in her head way too much

She would appreciate talking it out, especially because she knows how much effort it can be for you to speak up about your own feelings

Neon also loves sharing new music with you. She’d definitely make a playlist for you and would be very touched if you sent her music

Also is not above flexing by taking you to an arcade to play DDR (though she has accidentally fried DDR machines before)

FADE

Fade didn’t initially notice that you were a photographer, not paying much notice to the fact that you’d take a lot of photos when you’d hang out together

She only realised you were serious about it when you went through photos with her where you showed her a bunch of high quality photos that you had finally transferred from your camera

Fade was very surprised, and was initially hesitant when you asked if she’d like to be photographed one time, but eventually she allowed you to.

She loved the way that you tried to capture her heterochromia, noticing a direct emphasis on her eyes with each photo you took and proudly showed her

Eventually she asked if you could print out the photos, to which you obliged

Next time you were in her room after that, she had a wall decorated with all of your photos

Your favourite photo of her is one where she is peacefully stirring a cup of coffee, her eyes trained softly on the stirring motion, the henna on her hand visible in the photograph

SAGE

Sage was quite attentive and noticed quite quickly that you had a particular passion for photography, seeing how your eyes lit up when you took a nice photo and the way that your lip would quirk up with giddiness

She tried to indirectly ask to see the photos, trying to not pressure you (she’s so sweet)

One time the two of you sat down comfortably on a couch and went through the photos together. You appreciated all of Sage’s praises as she gazed at the photos with awe

When you asked if Sage would like her photo taken one time, she gently accepted the offer (she contained her extreme excitement secretly)

Sage helped you scrapbook when you got into printing out the photos, and she even gifted you a bunch of scrapbooking material that was soft and nature themed (lace, pressed flowers, pastel scrapbook paper, etc.)

Your favourite photo of Sage is one where she went on a walk with you through nature, the wind blowing her hair magically, her face graced with a pure smile

DEADLOCK

Deadlock was quietly attentive, so she immediately put two and two together.

She was very blunt with asking about it when she saw your professional camera for the first time, and was quick to ask if she could see some photos.

However, she didn’t realise that you managed to capture photos of her without her realising.

Deadlock was hesitant about the photos you took of her, worrying that she looked too brooding to be a “pretty” subject matter.

You reassured her that she was gorgeous in your eyes and that she had nothing to worry over. You even asked if you could photograph her with her knowledge to prove that she had nothing to fear.

When you guys first started taking photos, Deadlock was tense underneath the lens, but after time and coaxing from you, she eased up and ended the photo session with a soft smile.

Your favourite photo of her was during that photography session, when the sun peeked through some clouds to gently shine down on her, highlighting her smile and slightly closed eyes. 

VIPER

Viper didn’t enjoy the camera. She also noticed every time you pointed it in her direction.

“Y/n, put that away.”

She’d grumble every time at first, but one day her opinion changed as she peeked over your shoulder one time and saw you looking through the photos

At first she assumed that the images were just meant to be jokes, but she realised that you were serious about it and, in fact, had a great eye for photography

After that day, she complained less often whenever you’d raise the camera in her direction and would even shake her head with a half-hearted eye roll, trying to hide the smile peeking through on her face.

You never realised that she knew the photos you took, only silently leaving a stack of photos on her work bench while she was away, with a small letter resting on top of the stack

When Viper looked through the stack of photos, she had a small smile as she appreciated each and every shot that you took, especially pausing on the ones where you captured her work.

Your favourite photo of Viper was one where she was in the lab, taking her time to be precise as she mixed together different substances, the photo focusing on her attention to detail.

One thought I’ve had while reading this post by the wonderful @loredrinker (it’s a beautiful read highly recommend)

We know that one of Solas’ big regrets is robbing elves of their immortality. As he says in Trespasser, he blames himself for the fact that elves now age and die.

So, in the scenario that Solas had not actually seen Lavellan physically in the past 10 years: How much do you think it would have hurt him to see the visible signs of aging that would be expected after a decade on the woman he loves? Of course he would find her just as beautiful in any age or form, but to see physical evidence of his biggest mistake on her. To be reminded that, because of him, she is actively dying, her body deteriorating one day at a time.

As someone not born mortal, this in itself would be harrowing to witness on your significant other. We are born knowing that our time is limited and even we can’t ever grasp it. But to know he’s the one that is responsible for it? It was eating him alive when the elves in question were faceless distant strangers he never got too close to. I can only imagine how much worse it would feel when it came to his heart.

Fade + Omen with a cat radiant S/O

Both her and her prowlers are in absolute love.

Whenever you’re around they (Fade or the prowlers, take your pick.) can be found walking right behind you.

They 100% purr, which is reserved for only you and Hazal.

She cannot and will not sleep alone anymore.

Either she’ll stand right behind you while you finish whatever you’re doing, or she’ll just drag you back into bed.

Unconsciously fidgets with your ears and tail, whatever she can get her hands on at that moment.

Whether your fur is long or short, she can spend hours petting it. (If you don’t have fur she’ll smooth over the appendage instead.)

Won’t force the interactions between you and her own cats. (Praying that they like you.)

Gives you all the cat themed pet names, they are never ending. (Kedicik [kitten], furball/kıl yumağı [hairball])

Whenever she finds the dumbest little cat toys and treats they’re brought instantly. (Whatever you don’t use or eat goes to her cats and the prowlers.)

He’ll seek you out at anytime he needs to calm down.

This man gives the best head scratches – like goddamn, how and where did he learn that technique.?

If you purr around him (And in private) he might do his own version.

He won’t pet you if he hasn’t asked or you haven’t given permission, but is slowly getting more confident around it.

Assuming you play with wool or something similar, he’ll start silently teasing you about it. (This includes him throwing a ball of yarn across the room for you to chase.)

Go ahead and take up all the space on his bed with your weird sleeping poses, he won’t ever stop you.

Isn’t the biggest and most confident with petnames, but he might feel like throwing in one every so often.

If you happen to carry over the trait of ‘hating water,’ this leaves him as the one who has to deal with your tantrums.

Please make biscuits near this man!! Has and will put off nearly anything to watch you work!! (He’s so in love. <3)

Even if he loves you, you will be kept away from his knitting projects. (Doesn’t want risk his work being ruined.)
