Fade didn’t initially notice that you were a photographer, not paying much notice to the fact that you’d take a lot of photos when you’d hang out together

She only realised you were serious about it when you went through photos with her where you showed her a bunch of high quality photos that you had finally transferred from your camera

Fade was very surprised, and was initially hesitant when you asked if she’d like to be photographed one time, but eventually she allowed you to.

She loved the way that you tried to capture her heterochromia, noticing a direct emphasis on her eyes with each photo you took and proudly showed her

Eventually she asked if you could print out the photos, to which you obliged

Next time you were in her room after that, she had a wall decorated with all of your photos

Your favourite photo of her is one where she is peacefully stirring a cup of coffee, her eyes trained softly on the stirring motion, the henna on her hand visible in the photograph

SAGE

Sage was quite attentive and noticed quite quickly that you had a particular passion for photography, seeing how your eyes lit up when you took a nice photo and the way that your lip would quirk up with giddiness

She tried to indirectly ask to see the photos, trying to not pressure you (she’s so sweet)

One time the two of you sat down comfortably on a couch and went through the photos together. You appreciated all of Sage’s praises as she gazed at the photos with awe

When you asked if Sage would like her photo taken one time, she gently accepted the offer (she contained her extreme excitement secretly)

Sage helped you scrapbook when you got into printing out the photos, and she even gifted you a bunch of scrapbooking material that was soft and nature themed (lace, pressed flowers, pastel scrapbook paper, etc.)

Your favourite photo of Sage is one where she went on a walk with you through nature, the wind blowing her hair magically, her face graced with a pure smile

DEADLOCK

Deadlock was quietly attentive, so she immediately put two and two together.

She was very blunt with asking about it when she saw your professional camera for the first time, and was quick to ask if she could see some photos.

However, she didn’t realise that you managed to capture photos of her without her realising.

Deadlock was hesitant about the photos you took of her, worrying that she looked too brooding to be a “pretty” subject matter.

You reassured her that she was gorgeous in your eyes and that she had nothing to worry over. You even asked if you could photograph her with her knowledge to prove that she had nothing to fear.

When you guys first started taking photos, Deadlock was tense underneath the lens, but after time and coaxing from you, she eased up and ended the photo session with a soft smile.

Your favourite photo of her was during that photography session, when the sun peeked through some clouds to gently shine down on her, highlighting her smile and slightly closed eyes. 

VIPER

Viper didn’t enjoy the camera. She also noticed every time you pointed it in her direction.

“Y/n, put that away.”

She’d grumble every time at first, but one day her opinion changed as she peeked over your shoulder one time and saw you looking through the photos

At first she assumed that the images were just meant to be jokes, but she realised that you were serious about it and, in fact, had a great eye for photography

After that day, she complained less often whenever you’d raise the camera in her direction and would even shake her head with a half-hearted eye roll, trying to hide the smile peeking through on her face.

You never realised that she knew the photos you took, only silently leaving a stack of photos on her work bench while she was away, with a small letter resting on top of the stack

When Viper looked through the stack of photos, she had a small smile as she appreciated each and every shot that you took, especially pausing on the ones where you captured her work.

Your favourite photo of Viper was one where she was in the lab, taking her time to be precise as she mixed together different substances, the photo focusing on her attention to detail.

I feel like Fade's love language would be physical touch, because she doesn't seem like some one who would speak much. She'd probably be very gentle with you too.

She may seem scary and all, but she's definitely a big softie once you get to know her.

I feel like she'd give a lot of praise during 'alone time', and actively encourage you when you're doing something, like going to the gym, or just doing any of your hobbies really.

I feel like Fade has insomnia, so you two would probably stay up late watching movies. I feel like she'd find horror movies fun to watch, and she'd be the type to cover your ears/eyes during the scary parts, and tell you when they're over.

Dire to deal with, carrying the secrecy of life and nightmares in her pocket. 

Is hard to say when things started to shift to your convenience and favor while residing together, because no one expected you to be fond of the resident blackmailer, out of all people. 

The subtle glances, the shuffle of feet whenever she is in approach, leaning on her side to hear her more comfortably or simply enjoying her presence.

Imagine the surprise when most realized this was not a one-way puppy love, but reciprocated with Fade falling deeply in love when all she has done is harm to the protocol. And in some way, to you too.

But you don't mind the slightless.

•It starts with a friendship.

Fade is unable to love someone without proper time to get to know each other. Nevermind not sharing interests nor something simple as music taste. Fade cares about the person more than whatever you might like.

It might take her a while to warm up to your presence, and even then, she will be skeptical towards your intentions with her. 

Be patient and understanding, Fade will appreciate your efforts with time and will be fond of you in no time.

Anyone can have these thoughts about people they meet and consider them some sort of type of beauty. But god help you, she is not going to tell you what she really thinks of you until the relationship starts, so a lot of overthinking on your part will play here when you realize your feelings for her.

Fade is pretty reserved with her opinion, but when she confesses to you how often you were on her mind, how nervous you would make her feel whenever you closed the distance when you conversed, is like a little ego boost to your self-esteem.

•Despite what everyone claims, Fade is the softest person you could ever meet.

She carries herself with pride— and tiredness, mostly tiredness—and at the beginning of her stay in the protocol, no one wanted to approach the one who dared prod into their consciousness and have against their will their biggest fear weaponized.

And it was understandable, since no one knew the whys of her actions and ostracized her on apprehension.

No one wanted to give her the time of the day and, despite her appearing as if she never minded it, you did.

One can say it was thanks to that, that you decided to approach and talk to her under the scrutinized eyes of your friends and comrades. 

And it was lovely.

Fade is lovely, kind, if not a little shy when it comes to social interactions unless the topic is something she can have control over.

It was like love at first talk when she softened to you and spoke so fondly about her old cat who passed away a few years ago. When she mentioned it was such a pain in the ass to have to ignore everyone’s stare whenever she is in the vicinity, but holding so much emotion behind her eyes that it betrays her words. 

To feel somewhat appreciated whenever she offered to buy you drinks when a mission went successful.

She is caring, and you are more than happy to be the recipient of such lovely treatment and attention—Fade notices, too, how you perk up with excitement whenever she talks to you or gives you attention, is adorable.

•Fade is touch-starved. 

Is surprising how touchy she gets once the relationship begins. 

She seeks the warmth of your hands holding her, of your lips caressing the cold of her skin, of your arms wrapped around her in the privacy of your room.

She gets clingy in private, holding your body tightly against her and simply enjoying the comfort of having her lover alongside her.

Like a cat, you are able to pinpoint when she seeks your attention and love and when she needs her space—it's a duality you never thought you would have in a partner, but you get used to her patterns without a problem.

In public, she will maintain a healthy distance to not make anyone uncomfortable with her displays of affection, despite wanting to kiss you every time you talk to her.

Is the persona she sold from the very beginning and fooled the agents into having some sort of respect towards her.

But in reality, and like any other human being, Fade gets insecure pretty easily.

She doesn't doubt your love nor faithfulness, you've made very clear she is the one you're in love with, which makes her very happy, but doubts the rest of the world into respecting your relationship.

Whether a guy or girl, if their approach is soft and timid, she'd start feeling self-conscious. 

Was Fade really that weak and wavering that the shy people would come after you, knowing very well you are committed to a relationship?

Don't let her get started on the people who are straightforward with you and ignore her presence completely. Is annoying having to be left in the background and simply watch the flirting unfold—sad, anxious and furious that she cannot do anything about it.

You will have to reassure her a lot. Talk to her, and simply be there for when she needs to let out her boiling feelings.

•Knowing Fade.

She opens up to you when she can fully trust you.

She’s got a collection of small cat toys that she brings whenever she feels the need to get out of the protocol and find little furry friends wandering the streets. Albeit nervous, Fade invites you to her outings when your friendship begins as a way to get to know you better. 

She already thinks you’re pretty and interesting on their own, gathering the courage to ask to hangout is a lot coming from her, she hopes you get the message and simply accept it. If you don't, that's alright, but know that that might put a strain on the friendship since Fade gave it her all and being rejected hurts her. 

With time though, things go back to normal.

When you confess to Fade, it takes her by surprise; she doesn’t know how to react to it but acts upon her wants. 

The first kiss you share is intense, full of passion and overwhelming feelings, things get to heat up intensely and Fade has half the mind to actually want to stop.

She’s a very passionate lover, you find out, waking up the next morning cuddled up to her body and lips sore.

Clove collects a lot of sentimental trinkets

Having died multiple times since becoming immortal, it can be assumed that Clove did not lead a particularly nice life between developing radiant abilities and joining Valorant Protocol. 

They spent a good portion of time uprooted and not staying too long anywhere. They’re on the run from a multitude of things. Perhaps they want to escape their past and Kingdom. One thing’s for sure and it's that Hourglass wants them dead. They’re not really sure how Hourglass intends to kill them, but they’re not keen on finding out – also, bullets hurt. 

Being on the move meant there wasn’t much they got to keep. But they’re not a frugal spender at all, they get whatever piques their interest and brings them joy – new outfits, nice accessories, and pretty decorations. Most of this stuff winds up either abandoned, resold, or donated (preferably the latter two if they’re not in a rush). 

There are a few things that they keep. Sentimental trinkets stay with them, clipped onto their trusty bag or belts. Their usual outfit has scraps of fabric sewn on. Some are to patch up tears and others are reminders of memories they’d like to keep with them. Their main outfit is very DIY and upcycled, and Clove will tell you it adds personality and flavour. 

After joining the Protocol it was pointed out that the trinkets rattle against their bag. Which was a no-go for any sort of agent work. It reveals their location and more fatally, their teammate's location. But even being told this, it takes a long while at the Protocol for them to get comfortable with leaving some trinkets behind for missions. The idea of a home is foreign to them. Somewhere to always be able to return to has been so far out of reach that they’re very distrustful of the idea at first.

Despite your quiet demeanor, it seems you’ve taken that to mean you can now learn about him as much as you want

Cypher likes to play the radio, either some lo-fi playlists or work background music

Sometimes he hears you humming along and smiles to himself

After awhile he figures it would be rude not to offer you some tea or a drink

The two of you bond talking about tech

One time you ask about what work he’s doing on his trips and he laughs cheerfully

“Well, I’m experimenting with different string tensions for my wires. You see, a simple horizontal tripwire is straightforward. But finding the tension for a perpendicular one? One time I caught the other Jett in it and she was like a fly in a spiderweb. I’m trying to perfect that.”

He would love collaborating on new traps and lineups with you

He also appreciates that you’re quiet. Not because he hates talking (the opposite— this man never shuts up if you let him), but because you see things others don’t

On missions, you’ll be the one to tell him, “they always send someone up long” and help him adjust his set ups.

Viper

She’s someone who prides herself on maintaining a certain level of professional distance/ fear with the other members of the protocol

That’s why you bewilder her

She doesn’t understand why you don’t cower from her and always greet her quietly in the mornings, a small smile on your face

But Viper only really starts paying attention to you when you save her on the field, shooting someone who had been about to come up behind her through her poison

When you express interest in her work and her poison, she counts it as reasonable repayment to actually take the time to explain things to you

What she doesn’t expect is for you to keep coming back

It’s always under the excuse of something, “oh, Brimstone asked me to forward this message to you.” “Why didn’t he just page me?” “I was on the way, I didn’t mind! Also I brought coffee.”

She did appreciate the coffee. The company wasn’t bad either.

It’s been a long time since anyone viewed her as the researcher she once was (except for those who wanted to use the information to poke at old wounds), and with actual interest

Eventually, she starts coming to you for your thoughts. As someone with a science background yourself, but who left academia for your own pursuits, your insights are… refreshing

It’s a working relationship, she tells herself, nothing more. She doesn’t know if her heart could stand making it more than that.

Fade

It takes a long time for Fade to warm up to you, much less even acknowledge your presence when you hang around her outside of missions

She appreciates that you’re a quiet person— i.e. Raze, as welcome as her friendliness is compared to the cold shoulders she’s been getting, can be a bit overwhelming

What she doesn’t expect is that you’re genuinely interested in her and her powers

As a fellow insomniac, the two of you tend to run into each other in the common area at odd hours

Over time, the two of you start chatting over Fade’s slow brew coffee

It’s fair to say most of the Valorant protocol don’t sleep well after everything you all have been through, but you’re the first one who appreciates her, even when her presence affects you all

Once the two of you are comfortably friends, you don’t hesitate to talk Fade’s ear off about Gothic architecture (she secretly loves it)

Though she seems really reserved, she’ll always do what she can to make you feel more comfortable, such as setting a mug of tea out for you in advance so you don’t have to ask

If the two of you go out, she’s the meme “they ASKED for no pickles”

Fade definitely has one or more cats and the two of you could hang out and the only activity be sitting in silence and playing with them

If you’re into video games, you would love playing Bloodborne and showing Fade all the lore bits. She would comment on what parts of the eldritch plane they got right or not, but finds it all really interesting regardless

You always have the best conversations with her, particularly at 2am and on

Neon

Neon is a very social person, she loves hanging out with the others in the protocol, whether it be to dim sum or karaoke, she’s always game

When she’s not in a group, she’s definitely less energetic/ reduces the tough exterior that she puts on when she’s in the zone

But she’s obviously the more extroverted between the two of you and loves dragging you out and pushing your comfort zone

At the same time, she would never want to make you uncomfortable and really just wants to spend time with you

Like Jett, she loves hanging out to eat food, whether from a casual food truck or sit down (she’d also use the opportunity to take the pressure of talking off of you)

When you finally get comfortable enough to talk about your interests, she’s happy to sit and listen (though she’ll ask endless questions if you let her)

Neon is like an excitement feedback loop, if you’re enthusiastic about something, she’ll double that energy back

While she doesn’t really struggle with the “wondering why people want to hang out around her”, if the two of you grow closer and if anything happened to you from her powers, she would take the responsibility very heavily

She could definitely overthink things in her head, working over her thoughts in her head way too much

She would appreciate talking it out, especially because she knows how much effort it can be for you to speak up about your own feelings

Neon also loves sharing new music with you. She’d definitely make a playlist for you and would be very touched if you sent her music

Also is not above flexing by taking you to an arcade to play DDR (though she has accidentally fried DDR machines before)

astra // astral elf monk

hey, i just think it makes sense. monks can deal damage and since astra derives her power from the astral guardians, it makes sense, no?

plus, i think she’d be really badass with astral elf genes…

breach // centaur barbarian

WALK WITH ME HERE. just listen to me. A CENTAUR. HE’S SO CENTAUR.

he’s very tanky and i think it very much fits his whole vibe— and if you think he’s annoying with two legs, he’s gonna be ten times more annoying with four. can totally see him absolutely destroying someone by bucking his back legs into someone.

brimstone // dwarf paladin

honor is huge for dwarves and i really want to play that in with brimstone. i want to say that kingdom could’ve been this crazy god thing but maybe i could look into that later. all i know is that he is a paladin with a heart of gold.

in a little doodle i did, i made him a tavernkeeper… so maybe he’s an ex-paladin now-turned a humble tavernkeep.

chamber // high elf artificer

i wanted to make him a ranger, but an artificer makes me giggle. probably because one of my d&d characters is an artificer and was loosely based on chamber. (she’s a rich tiefling seamstress of many talents, if you even care.) also you can imagine chamber as a tiefling too, but, i think high elf works better.

deffo still a weapons designer, maybe even a blacksmith. probably works closely with magic users to make custom weaponry to channel their mana in.

clove // fairy bard

look, as much as i’d LOVE to make clove an immortal god watching over the whole fantasy world, i just HAVE to include them as a fairy who CONTINUOUSLY breaks the 4th wall. it’s so funny.

clove would probably have DEADPOOL level fourth wall breaks, and constantly make jokes and references of ‘the real world’ and how they’ve ‘seen all of you before.’

cypher // tiefling wizard

WALK WITH ME HERE. he had his horns ripped off. WALK WITH ME.

he hides his identity partially because iirc tieflings aren’t exactly … liked by the public eye? i also like to think he uses his wizardry to fuel his whole information broker schtick. he uses arcane eye and everyone hates him for it.

deadlock // snow elf beast hunter

i know that beast hunters aren’t exactly a CLASS but come on. lets be honest with ourselves.

deadlock who lost her team to a rabid mythical beast, now dedicating herself to hunting them down and neutralizing them, one bounty at a time. i like to think that she doesn’t necessarily kill them if they can be saved, or at least put them down painlessly. otherwise, she aims for the fuckin’ throat.

fade // half-elf sorcerer

walk with me here. fade is a MAN in the universe OKAY walk with me. i made a hc video on tiktok where i made fade a half-elf sorcerer that is haunted by the voices in his spellbook. his character name is demir, and upon further research, i have found out that sorcerers CANNOT use spellbooks. (stupid, i know.) so work with that as you will.

i think she works for nightmare to feed it in return to find information on her father. she's a bounty hunter, but ONLY for nightmares and for information. you feel me?

gekko // tall-man druid

i think this one’s a given.

i’m practically making him beast boy, BUT IDGAF!!!! he has a connection with his buddies and often shifts as needed. he likes turning into a dog and cuddling. trust. his character name is oetam. yes, it's mateo backwards.

harbor // warforged artificer

this one is kind of me fucking around. as much as i wanted to make him a water based race, he was chosen to hold the artifact.

i think he was made by realm to be their historian and antiquities expert, but as soon as he was the chosen one, was shut out, just like in the cinematic.

iso // half-orc fighter

i know i could've put iso as a tiefling or something like that but i think him as a half-orc is cooler. he's tall, bulky, and TANKY.

i originally wanted him to be a paladin, because he could change oaths from hourglass to the protocol through a huge quest in sparing omen... that whole thing, but i think a fighter works better.

jett // air genasi rogue

let's be so fucking for real JETT WILL BE PUT ON SOME ROGUE SHIT WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT. I WILL FORCE FEED IT TO YOU WITH A GOLDEN SPOON.

if omega earth isn't canonical in the d&d world (which i highly doubt) she has an evil twin that does shit on her name, henceforth, she has to hide. otherwise, same backstory.

kay/o // warforged fighter

HE. IS. WARFORGED. [actively shoving food down your throat]

very much strikes me as a robot learning how to be normal. definitely works along brimstone-- he got a job at the tavern and helps him sort out bounties and act as security. he's also totally a bodyguard for money.

killjoy // tiefling artificer

she's so tiefling u can't say anything. she's a PINK tiefling thank you very much. definitely a party girl, too!

i think she's the same idea as chamber, but she's paid by brimstone! i wanna think he took her in as his protégé but atp he might as well be hers. initially he wanted her to help with kay/o, but she just ended up control-freaking everywhere and upgrading everything in sight. she has matching names with oetam. it's aralk.

neon // wood elf ranger

neon is a speedster, so it makes sense to give her one of the fastest races in d&d (based on walking distance, at least). i wanna think she's a knight... stay with me here.

ex-k-sec makes sense for her to be a knight? so maybe she just has the title, but kind of just does contract work? also! the whole lightning thing... mayhaps cursed? or maybe just a lightning god didn't want her. choose which one you like out of those two.

omen // tall man-tiefling rogue

hear me out; he used to be a tall man, but after the whole 'incident' was turned into a tiefling. LISTEN BRO IT MAKES SENSE.

he works as a merc, sporting a cloak to shield his 'hideous' self. he frequents brimstone's tavern for jobs, and always emerges from the shadows instead of using the door. he's become accustomed to showing up after closing with the bounty, and in return, spooks everyone working there. killjoy had to hit her fantasy equivalent of an inhaler after a few spooks.

phoenix // dragonborn bard

[shoveling food down your throat] that is a fucking dragonborn if i ever did fucking see one.

and, he's a bard because he was in theatre school, duh. i like to think phoenix is a very popular entertainer but also uses his talents for other jobs on the side. otherwise... maybe he's a knight! i don't know. i like the performer idea better.

raze // dwarf alchemist

she was also in the d&d video! her name is razinho ('little raze' haha). probably a merc with a very, err, explosive personality. wandered in the tavern a lot and hit it off with aralk.

if i had to assign her a class, maybe a fighter or a barbarian.

reyna // vampire warlock

listen. i want to say that the vampire side of her is empress. she has to devour souls (or blood!) to keep empress happy. you see where i'm going here? [fade bulletin board spray]

she's tied to empress so long as lucia is sick. gekko and her met after she found him injured in dog form... guys please i love them so much.

sage // high elf cleric

her healing is a gift. come on bro. she's as cleric as it can get. while i think she also derives power from the earth (she's in fact a geomancer) i think the majority of her mana comes from the higher power that gifted her.

i want to think she also works as a ... well, sage. she does so back in shaanxi. otherwise, she's found at brimstone's tavern providing her healing. sometimes she goes into dungeons and does free revivals.

skye // dryad druid

[shoveling food down your throat] dryad skye [more food] druid skye. also isn't it crazy how THAT is the only skye picture we have. rest in peace.

i wanna think that her pack is a bunch of animal-shaped plants that she helped escape a garden. i think that's really funny. 10+ points if it's a garden belonging to kingdom.

sova // avian (owl) scout

a former knight in charge of reconnaissance. he left after a tragic accident.

he lives with his babushka and takes care of her-- sometimes he takes up bounties for extra cash, and brimstone is trying to work his way into sova's good side-- he could really use a scout.

viper // naga shifter alchemist

probably used to be a cleric but renounced her belief-- even better, after doing what she did to omen, she lost her power and took it as a sign to take up researching death.

yes, she is a naga. it makes so much sense, nobody talk to me. her and brimstone are old friends and she frequents the bar also because of omen. the reason he was sent to kill her should stay the same i think.

yoru // changeling rogue

last one! he was also in the hc video. except he was a fighter. his name is kurayami. no, not kuronami. he's a runaway samurai and hella edgy. oetam bullies him. demir, too.

changelings can impersonate people they've already seen, so maybe yoru uses paintings of his ancestors to decide on his identity. he has the mask still, too! he uses it when he's on his rogue shit.

valorant hc's part 3: While Cypher doesn't really like to think about how everyone knows that he has a dead wife named Nora, everyone absolutely does because Cypher come back screaming for her every time he is revived. No one mentions her, of course, but whenever Cypher mentions that he wants to take a trip to Morocco, no one *ever* stops him and Brimstone will usually call off upcoming missions with Cypher in them if Cypher seems particularly incessant about seeing her. Cypher does not abuse this privilege because he is afraid of losing it. Cypher cant stand to be alone in a room with Fade. His name isn't the biggest secret of the VALORANT protocol, but he still gets uneasy and feels threatened by Fade. He hates the idea that Fade was able to find him, and he cant get over thinking how that means that someone from his past could have theoretically found him. Fade has assured Cypher that his face is still a secret. Cypher isn't really as religious as he used to be. killing people kind of did that train in. its not that he doesn't believe in it, but that he's pretty certain that when he dies, he's not going anywhere good and so he shouldn't get his hopes up. Besides, missions seem too taxing to follow a majority of Muslim rules (how can you fast for a month when you're dying biweekly? at some point, Sage simply won't allow it.) He does try, sometimes, though. Omen often repeats the variety of names Fade suggested might be his. Often, on a bad night, he'll say those names again and again until he is so sick of repeating them and getting no closer to figuring out which may be his. Omen often disappears from the facility for days at a time. This is most typically following a resurrection, but he leaves at random, too. he doesn't go anywhere specific, but he gets as far away from the base as he can and is usually untraceable until he finally sends a signal to them so he can go home. Most of the agents have stopped asking about it because Omen always shrugs and says he doesn't remember. He runs away because he feels pressured to fight and keep fighting, and sometimes he just cant take it and doesn't see another nonviolent way to escape. He doesn't want to leave for good, though. on the topic of resurrection: resurrection is PAINFUL. Agents always come back gasping and scared. some cry out names of people they knew and loved, some cry for other agents, and some think they're still on the battlefield and fighting for their life. Most agents calm down after Sage reassures them. Cypher, Viper, and Omen are some of the exceptions. Cypher often shuts down and doesn't speak for even days at a time, while Viper and Omen come back kicking and thrashing and blindly trying to hurt whoever is near them. Sage is the best at chess out of all the agents. Cypher is the only one who's beaten her. Most of the agents don't know Sage is better at chess because Sage doesn't play out of respect for the egos of the others. Cypher loves to see how the others play. Omen is the second best at chess, though thats mostly because he learned from Cypher and Cypher taught him how to play against Cypher's moves. Omen struggles a lot more against everyone except Cypher, but no one plays against Omen often because Omen gets a specific murderous vibe to him when he's losing that scares the others.
