I feel like I already know the answer to this, probably (LOL), but if you could add any other Square Enix series to Kingdom Hearts, what would it be and why? Bravely Default, Dragon Quest, NieR, The Bouncer, Parasite Eve, Forspoken, the Mana series, Xenoblade Chronicles, Valkyrie Profile, Fullmetal Alchemist, Soul Eater? Something else I didn't list here? (You can cheat and choose more than one, if you want:))
Actually, I don't know if I would add any other series. Don't get me wrong, I love the characters from a lot of these, but for me it's a question of how well they could fit into KH without losing the things about them that make them unique, you know?
I love the cast of NieR and NieR: Automata, but those games are SO dark, and a lot of the appeal of those games is the uniquely bleak and hopeless atmosphere, and I can't see them being added to KH without scrubbing away any of the traits that made people like them in the first place. Parasite Eve, too, falls into this category. I mean, The 3rd Birthday kinda already proved why wackier JRPG plots don't work with that cast, they're far too grounded for it. At best you could hope for some of them as background NPCs in an Enchanted NYC, but they'd basically have to be the equivalent of Setzer's KH2 appearance and at that point it just feels kinda cheap
Characters from The Bouncer could make decent cameo appearances in a KH-exclusive world like Twilight Town, since that game is obscure enough that I doubt anyone would get super offended if they were represented weirdly or relegated to just a cameo. But that would also run into the same issue as the Parasite Eve example, where the cameo doesn't really do much other than go "oooooh, look, CHARACTER" (which is my main issue with the use of some of the FF characters in KH already). Alas, this one will probably only ever be referenced as Pence's Dog Street shirt and that's probably for the best given how weird that game is
And then there's just a ton of games that I don't know enough about to say. Forspoken, Octopath Traveler, and Triangle Strategy all come to mind
If they had to bring other properties in, then Bravely Default would work the best for me, at least of the properties you listed that are actually Square Enix owned-and-produced and not just Square Enix published and/or affiliated. Not only is Bravely Default meant to evoke classic Final Fantasy, so it's not too far off from what's already in the game, but the characters already have a lot of "modernisms" in their speech and behaviors that would make them very adaptable to a lot of different worlds in KH and the tone of the games overall. Not to mention that the classical fantasy setting of the games could be pretty reminiscent of some of the more fantasy-focused Disney films, allowing them to blend together. I'm imagining, like... an Edea cameo in Arendelle, not unlike Auron in Olympus. That all being said, I've never played Bravely Default II, so I can't say how well that one would hold up. I'm only thinking of Bravely Default and Bravely Second's casts
And while I do like Xenoblade Chronicles, I would never call them Square Enix series. That's not even close to accurate. Those games are produced by Monolith Soft, and while the company was founded by an ex-Square game director and a lot of the initial employees there were ex-Square employees who brought a lot of those same sensibilities over, the company itself really has nothing to do with them. Would I like it if Nomura's guest designed characters from Xenoblade 2 showed up? Sure, I think having Jin and Lauriam interact could be funny. Or Mikhail and Demyx. But it's not going to happen, because those aren't Square Enix characters. Sora's just gonna have to hang out with Shulk, Pyra, and Mythra in Super Smash Bros. and leave it at that
#liz answers#oveliagirlhaditright#honestly i'm as actively against nier and parasite eve characters showing up as i am star wars and marvel#i don't think it'll work tonally/lore-wise and i would rather the games make some sense as opposed to just 'it would be cool'

uh oh part 2: I just read House on Emberflit Alley and... man I need to stop reading this stuff, bc it's just genuinely good. It's like... retroactively ruining the only storyline in s2 that I kinda liked :(
uh oh chat I just read Viktor and Jayce's league bios and I like it more than what season 2 did with them... like A LOT more
#sooooo much lost potential its making me so unbelievably sad :( league lore version of Viktor honestly fucking rules i love him#we couldve had an actual jayv1k divorce and not just 'oh im gonna leave now bc reasons??'#murder attempts bc of actual ideological differences???#and it wouldve been so beautifully tragic bc of all the setup their relationship got in s1! in the show they genuinely liked each other!#while in the og lore they only seem to respect each other based on their intellect right? personality wise they didnt really get along?#i think having s1 viktor turn into this version of himself wouldve been sooo interesting bc they showed a lot of his good natured humanity#in s1 that he wouldve ironically had to give up on to pursue his greater goal. exploring how he would get there wouldve been so cool#and along with that you couldve easily driven a more believable wedge between him and Jayce that expands on their bridge argument#the difference in ideology on science they have in regular lore is so interesting. i personally can see where both are coming from#and how they got to their conclusions based on their origins and social status. it wouldve fit so well with the main zaun/piltover conflict#viktor always wanted to help the ppl of zaun and considering what the fuck cait was doing to it youd think he would like... give a shit??#the jayv1k ending might not even have to be that different bc its pretty obvious viktors emotion suppression lobotomy didnt work completely#especially when it comes to jayce#im not a writer by any means but i think thematically the s1 and game lore for them meshes really well?#idk why they just... didnt really do anything with it??#as ever im just... so confused. and sad.#hiding this in tags bc as per usual i never know whether or not im even making sense or just waffling around#i just needed to organize my thoughts on it a little dont mind me. ok byeee <3#arcane spoilers#in the tags lol just a bit

My overwatch phase has returned and that also comes with the rage of knowing that Blizzard basically shat all over it, especially its lore-fuck blizzard all me and my homies hate blizzard
-like what do you mean you are just gonna leave us with Widow and Sombra finding Zenyatta???? That’s it???? What tf does Talon want with Zen???? Why??? EXPLAIN PLS I BEG OF YOU
-of course them effectively ignoring Ramattra, one of the most interesting characters in the game lore wise????
-pls don’t ignore Venture they are the cutest patootie ever
-and bruh the lore between Kiriko and the Shimadas make no sense. It is said they trained together as children when Kiriko is a full 16-19 years younger than they are???
-if I could change it, I’d make it so that Kiriko was more of an observer while watching the Shimada boys, like she was still close with them, and was more trained by her mother
-I also get why people are kinda upset with Hazard, he is a bit too similar to Mauga, but I do like him design wise! He’s also adorable and his accent is 🤤 (I’ve got a weakness for Scots and accents in general, so sue me)
-Hazard and Mauga need to be friends pls I love those two beefcakes
-does Blizzard rlly think they can save players from leaving Overwatch to Marvel rivals by giving new skins to characters that already have too much 😑
-once again I hate blizzard😘
-I’m just so mad because the lore of Overwatch is so cool and Blizzard is just SO DUMB AAAAUUUUHGGGHHH IT ENRAGES ME
-an actually good Overwatch story mode would change lives but NO

Alright, I thought long and hard about what we might see in Arcane Season 2, what the Machine Herald is going to look like, who else we might see, and so on.
Also, this post does not contain any leaks, I have seen one picture, which doesn't even make sense (lucky me). If you spoil anything under this post, you are going to be blocked. I will talk about bout the trailers, though.
So, let me get my thoughts in some order:
- if Viktor was the hooded person in the trailer or wears a mask, then it's probably more because of his side in this war: he's not a Piltovan, but also not really a Zaunite anymore. We don't know when he moved from the Undercity to Piltover, but from his concept art, it was most likely during his early teens.
He's slightly younger than in S1 Arc1, but already wearing the Academy's uniform (though it seems a bit too big for him, and his pants are more rigged).
So: Viktor is going to be a Pariah and he is going to need to hide his identity, which makes a Collab with Jinx unlikely since she's on the run from everyone. Singed might be there in the direct aftermath after he got blown up, but they're probably going to fall out again since lore-wise Singed is going to team up with Noxus.
- In League of Legends Heimerdinger is a mage (shooketh, I know), and there's already a scene in S1 alluding to this: when Viktor and Heimerdinger are in Heimerdinger's office, Viktor goes through Jayce's notes and is intrigued. He asks Heimerdinger, whether he could do it (magic) and Heimerdinger hesitates a tell-tale second before he declines. Now, Heimerdinger might be a mage, but he relies mostly on his inventions. But wouldn't a fight between Viktor and Heimerdinger be cool? First, they throw ideologies at each other, then they fight. I think, I'd love this even more than Viktor vs. Jayce. Kinda like Obi-Wan vs. Anakin.
- I think, that Caitlyn is going to shoot Vi. Everyone I read so far thinks that it's the other way around, but that would be too predictable in my opinion. But maybe it is that way.
- Just stating that everyone is going to be contrary than they were in S1 and going from there falls a bit short. I think, that there's more to this quote.
- Divorce Era, because Jayce does, in fact, not understand. I am going to cry.
- The Hexcore will save Viktor's life in the aftermath of the explosion, and there are three ways I can see that happening:
(1) Viktor does it himself, maybe with the help from Singed.
(2) Jayce does it, thus breaking his promise to destroy it. I am going to cry
(3) The Hexcore, which is now connected to Viktor will sense his doom and burst to him. That might also be the shine, that Heimerdinger saw in the trailer.
- That brings me to another point, to the connection towards the Void: I don't think there's much to it and that the Hexcrystals are not shards of the brakken. However, I think the Hexcore is sentient due to Sky. Think about it: it changed its form after it disintegrated (or absorbed) Sky. Then it hurt Viktor (honestly, same. You think, you can walk away after accidentally dusting me and threatening to destroy my new essence? I'd be pissed). It might be interesting, if the Hexcore/Sky talks to Viktor in his head, furthering his spiral into madness. I'm here for it.
- Ekko will learn how to manipulate time and he will use it to try and save somebody. Be it somebody from the Firelights, their hideout or Jinx. Maybe it will go in the same direction like in the Convergence-Comic (which is, I repeat, outside of any lore), maybe not.
- Well then, what Viktor might look like: my favourite head-canon would be just as described in The Pulse of the Machine by bringthekaos on AO3. Mechanical eyes? Voice modulator can be shut off? Emotional suppressor has a switch? Rawrs in cyber-engineering. As it stands, I imagine it more to be like Battle Angel Alita (the manga, NOT the film!) or like a Borg from Star Trek. Definitely NOT like a Cyberman from Doctor Who.
- Who else do I want to see in S2:
Swain, just give me the Noxian General and heal my Daddy issues.
Renata, just give me the Chem-Baronness and heal my Mommy issues.
Jhin, Arcane should take place around the same time when Jhin was in Zaun. But that is a far shot (pun intended)
Camille, she exploits Hextech to become a weapon and I think she is kind of contrary to Viktor, who only ever wanted to help (others, himself, though with sometimes dubious means
I don't see that Orianna is Singed's daughter. That would fuck her beautiful lore. Don't do that to me.
Stuff, I'd also like to see:
- Viktor's apartment in Piltover
- Viktor's parents (flashback)
- Jayce's father (flashback)
- Jayce and Viktor fighting but unable to do so properly
- Mel and Sevika together
Thanks for coming to my Arcane-Talk.

Some nuance: War of the Rohirrim is actually really bad at the "war" part - but that doesn't matter
So I looked at some reviews for this movie and outside of tumblr it was a bit of a shit show. And that astonished me. Because i truly believe that this movie got the essentials of LotR really right, while having some flaws over all. I watched this movie with my older brother who is a huge LotR nerd and who agreed with me, that this was a return to old form. He even send me the part of the apendixes were this story is from - its pretty lore accurate (he's that kind of nerd) So where are all these so called LotR fans coming from who hated this movie? It can't just be sexism, right? RIGHT???!! So that got me thinking: I think it depends what you liked about LotR. Did you like the emotions, the corny speeches, the hope against all despair or did you like the fights/epic battles? And if you liked the action/fight scenes/epic battles i have another question for you: Why the fuck did you ever like those movies? Because the action in LotR was always bad - and it was bad exactly in the way it's bad in war of the Rohirrim
TL/DR War of the Rohirrim did understand what was important in the fights. Helm Hammerhand fighting through the whole night and than standing there frozen to death in front of the gates will always be a top ten moment for me even if it doesn't make any sense. Hera riding out in a white wedding dress and fighting for her people (who may or may not use that moment to flee - or maybe just stay to stare in horror) is fucking great - the old shield maiden throwing her shield is what it's all about. And if you don't see that ... I mean... maybe go watch GoT or something - it might be that LotR isn't for you.
longer rambly explanation under the cut
Let's start with the truth: The Locations in War of the Rohirrim doesn't make any sense and it's truly hurting the flow of the big battles: Why does Helm Hammerhand leave Edoras to fight on a plain when he has walls and a mountain in his favor if he just stays in Edoras. (GoT had similar issues in the last season - why oh why did you have your soldiers in front of the wall - do you know what walls are for???) how are the refugees from Edoras that fast in helms Deep (it used to take multiple weeks. Saruman even had time attacking them on the way...), how many doors does Edoras have and how many are burning? And how close was the fight to Edoras? and if it was so close that you could get back there in minutes (?) why not just fight in Edoras? Did no one notice the people escaping? Why does no one use arrows the way the were intended and shoot Wulf? Did soldiers stay behind to defend the hornburg or not? And man o man just one tower for getting into helms deep? the hornburg truly fell off - the orks needed at least 10 and dynamite ... i could go on and it would not matter because:
The LotR franchise - (excluding the amazon series which does not exist and won't be talked about in this house - I HATE THAT SERIES and i hate what they did to Galadriels character.... I digress) - Let me start again: LotR was always bad at big battle scenes/war scenes. Especially if it comes to location. it used to do well with fight scenes in close quarters. Aragon vs. the nazgul was great for example. the first battle in helms deep (even if it had some issues) But even those early fight scenes were often carried by the dialogue. Gandalf vs. the Balrog if you take out this really cool image of the giant Balrog and the small Gandalf - and if you take out Gandalfs epic dialogue - not a super interesting fight just choreography wise. And the bigger the location the bigger the problems - Arwen fleeing from the nazgul has some issues because sometimes the nazgul are really really close and than Arwen is way ahead again and its not always clear why. the whole ending scene were Merry and Pippin are kidnapped is really confusing if you try to figure out were everyone is? The whole battle in minas tirith is a shit show . Also horses. Sometime they are there and sometimes not. These are nitpicks. This stuff doesn't bother me. . The good battles in LotR are always linked to finding your courage in the face of despair: Beomer fighting on while being shot with three arrows, Theoden riding out one last time because it's the right thing to do. Even Aragon taking on all of Mordor in the third movie count. It's holding on to hope in complete darkness until the morning arrives - and the saviors come and kill all the enemies instantly. And sometimes you can quip if you want to. The heros are completly save until it's thematically relevant to kill them. (aragon went over a fucking cliff and was fine!! He just needed a pep talk from his girlfriend) That's what LotR IS! The hobbit movies were bad because they forgot about that part - i remember in the third hobbit movie that i could care less about the armies that fought and thats because there wasn't enough character scenes and corny speeches to motivate me to care. and if you dont have that you really notice how flimsy and badly written the fight scenes often are. The movie cut of RotK had the same issues. They even fumbled the Eowyn fight a bit - which is my favorite fight in the book because Eowyn is so fucking desperate - it's basically her suicide attempt via nazugul and the movie they didn't get that at all... i digress again: (SN want to talk about Mary Sues? Look me in the eye and tell me that Legolas in the third Hobbit movie wasn't the biggest Mary Sue there is?)
So let me ask again: if you watch LotR for the fight scene/battles and didn't like the cornyness... why the fuck do you like LotR?

I looked into a few spoilers and watched a fight with Radahn/Miquella and I gotta say that Mohg didn't deserved to be used as a husk for any of this
Like all of this doesn't make sense to me lore wise, story wise and the final fight itself looks like a reused asset...
I may be wrong of course, because there is not enough information about Miquella's plan fully, but for now I'm just extremely confused
Gonna go cope now by drawing Mohg's and Malenia's fanarts where everything is well and fine😔
Anyway sorry about the rambling, just wanted to talk about the dlc thing with someone and since we are mutuals I thought you wouldn't mind
U can ignore and delete this ask if you want, sorry for bothering, hope you have a good day!!
First of all, never apologise for yapping to me thats the entire point of my account sdiwbfjx
And yeah, the so called so called "plot twist" being a popular theory sucks. Like what did Mohg do ?? Have a cool outfit?? Honestly I would rather suffer through the "mohglester" and slander then this. It does make him more sympathetic, but also kinda boring.
The fight really does feel like it was made a day before, someone on reddit thats a game dev made a whole long ass reply of how theyre certain thats what happened.
Anyway I dont really have the *full* scoop of lore info since I havent played the DLC yet because my laptop broke, I do still think it's a shitty way to end both Miquella's arc, Mohg's arc, Radahn's arc that was supposed to be finished, and as well as a shitty way to end the dlc. I know fromsoftware simps will just tell me to cope but like, its so bad. Im not sorry because it makes zero sense, looks bad, and the fight feels reused and boring.
I do think we should all collectively cope, (mostly me and the pre dlc miquella enjoyers) which i plan to do by writing whatever. I want to play something else to get my mind off all the sote issues but im too hyperfixated and once again I don't have the laptop to play anything on whoops
conclusion always ramble to mohgreal

an angel doesn't necessarily have to be religious. typically yeah they are, but we're talking fantasy. you could make angels some sort of rare hybridization between different bird like hybrids.
though, if you WANTED to keep with the Catholic/religious theme. there was stuff written about humans and angels (or demons) having offspring. it would in the angels case result in them falling, BUT their offspring would have exaggerated features or even powers.
an angel here could be what happens if you spliced watcher/listener DNA with some other species. in skizz's case it could just be human, but you could probably make cool cases for others.
Yesss you are right, there is a story abt angels breeding with humans and creating giants, angels also taught magic and astrology to humans. (i think this is also what led to the whole flooding thing, which, boooo, let angels be freaky 2024)
I take some inspiration from Catholicism, but don't follow it exactly for Watchers. The Watchers are just that world's version of Catholicism, the people made a religion out of them, how they appear at times to guide and protect, sometimes taking people, and they're always been around. Grian grew up around Watcher religion as a child, he's got catholic guilt as an adult. (his Watcher mum--Aether, also grew up around Watcher religion)
Tho the difference--they don't have a Jesus-like figure, its just tiers of angels, the universe, that sort of thing, but who knows, maybe theres different Watcher branches amongst people as well, there are enchantment dialect differences.
Maybe Skizz just comes from a line of different enchantments, not Watcher based, but it's why he looks like that without being a hybrid. (the protestant joke rly does work here, they don't believe/pray to saints or angels or other figures beyond the main guy LOlol)
Listeners are fallen Watchers, treated much like demons, in the sense that they have to be stomped out, they'll lead humans astray.
Another difference, Watchers are infertile, so they do not breed with themselves or others, they just adopt and use enchantments to change the person, its how they continue, an endless source of Saints.
I do treat it more fantasy style, not super bible-accurate, but the lore inspiration is still heavily tied into it
Their domaines are much like convents, strict and confined.
I call them angels, but.... Watchers are "angels" in the way that they watch people, they bring information and guidance, they're skilled warriors who possess magic, but they don't serve a "God" or "Heaven", this is all of their own interest. (and also humans are cute, they can't help but interact.) Appearance wise they resemble birds, crows and owls, growing feathers and fur, claws and wings, multiple eyes on their face and "spiritually" (the floating eyes they conjure) They dress in flowing fabrics and hoods, they're very modest, but this is just most comfortable for all the feathers and wings, and allows them to blend into the dark and hide their forms. Nothing to do with the purity idea.
Bonus, they're like this meme but both at the same time
#DO I MAKE SENSE i dont know. i was trying to point out the difference between accurate angels vs watchers but they are similar#ask#ive had this meme saved for so long ADJGAJ#if i watched more of skizz's content maybe i could pull something for angel stuff but i mostly listen to the podcast/other games

working on a signalis/2001 space odyssey crossover au since im really fixated on 2001aso and enjoy the world and characters of signalis, might dump lore and such here for it eventually but its mainly only hal because I just wanted to draw him as a replika and it spiraled into this lol. . .
special thanks to @fivepebbleseater for helping me design it
insane ramblings below cut, includes 2001 space odyssey and signalis spoilers
HALR aka Halberd or Hal (don't have any real good ideas for what the german in the acronym would stand for yet as I do NOT speak a lick of german) is a replika based off HAL-9000 from 2001aso. I kind of stretched the replika naming standards for this because I couldn't find any good birds or bird names so I just resorted to the first bird I knew starting with H, the hawk or goshawk (sorry talk tuah fans). also he's named after and uses a halberd because it sounds like Hal Bird and im funny like that. halberds are also sick as hell and can counter falke spears which I thought was cool.
purpose-wise he's basically a sigma male merge of LSTR and FKLR units with both of their specialities combined, i.e. the ship maintenance skills and "stoicism" of LSTRs and the combat prowess and Bioresonance of FKLRs. He does pretty much everything HAL9000 does in 2001aso, like controlling the entire Discovery and maintaining navigation and the hibernaculums while engaging with the crew (or just Dave lol). my reasoning for his deployment over another LSTR unit, besides just being an upgraded and more capable variant, is due to his strong biores and use as protection.
in an earlier period of the world (I'm not too confident on the timeline in tandem with the actual game including the whole ariane dream situation so like. Alternate Universe Split Timeline or whatever) the Nation ends up being the first to secretly dig up the Tycho Monolith and trace the emanating signal to a far off planetary system. this prompts the designing of a replika that can handle both prolonged space expeditions and any potential conflict it may encounter in a first-contact mission with alien lifeforms. as far as the public and Hal's crew on the Discovery are aware, he really is simply just an upgraded high-end alternative to LSTRs. they're a big scary corporation of course they wouldn't want people including the literal pilots and scientists to know they're looking for aliens lol.
ALSO, he utilizes biores to basically form the same connection and hold to the ship as HAL9000 does in the form of a sort of halo or "crown" of flashing cords that trail behind him, connecting to his back and upper arms and flickering in and out of existence like half tangible processor threads. modified HAL terminals on the discovery walls act as anchor points for him to connect to and fully immerse himself in the workings of the ship, this makes his crown spread farther and fully tangible (I hemmed and hawed with my friends about the colors they'd be because gold wouldn't really make sense so I just ended up using technical difficulties aka my pride flag). he can also manifest his cool trusty red halberd as means of protecting his crew, though he will of course take great pains to keep peace among other lifeforms.
I think thats about all I've got so far, uhh some quick facts: he's 8 feet tall, 245cm, could probably beat falke in a fight, anchoring stabilizes his persona and singing and flowers degrade it (had to shoehorn in daisies somehow), his pixel logo is based off the USAA logo from the space odyssey film jumpsuits, he/its pronouns, and he and dave WILL be kissing. android sesbian lex and robot say gex solidarity 🤝
I will prob be posting more fanart later as it comes idk I draw slow

an entirely biased review of all of the original killers in dead by daylight
okay so I don‘r play DBD. frankly, I’d rather shuck myself like a cob of corn than subject myself to whatever nonsense rhe game’s playerbase is up to. the lore’s not my thing and some of the character choices make me wrinkle. but I like horror things and I have a vague understanding of how they play. and I have some opinions. so i’ll throw them here.
thsi only includes the original guys made for the game. no liscensed visitors! (If you are wondering though I like myers and pig for their gimmicks and xenomorph because I love women)
evan macmillian - the trapper
i am excruciatingly neutral on this guy. he is kind of John Killer, which makes sense for how much I dgaf, but still. his mask is cool as fuck, but his lore really doesn’t resonate with me. trapping is a fun gimmick but apparently he lends himself to a lot of campy playstyles, which doesn’t sound too fun. he just exists to me.
philip ojomo - the wraith
this guy’s just really downright miserable. he doesn’t even wanna be here. he just wants to work at a Denny’s and live alone with a cat or whatever. invisibility is neat and the big stupid bell ring for whenever he does it is really funny though. cool guy I just feel bad for his existence
max thompson jr - the hillbilly
iunno this guys concept and lore just rub me the wrong way. just feels tone-deaf. much like wraith i think we should just leave this guy alone and let him farm in peace. he’s had a rough go of it. letting him be just some normal guy would make everything feel less. ew.
sally smithson - the nurse
how does she see out of that thing.
jokes aside she’s another i don’t feel strongly about. apparently she’s pretty meta due to her teleportation shenanigans, but otherwise she doesn’t catch my eye. I’m sorry women
lisa sherwood - the hag
really strong design-wise. really neat looking fungus plant lady. another one that really doesn’t wanna be here. like holy hell ma’am. maybe she and billy can go grill things together away from killing people for a big spider demon. otherwise I’m neutral on her too.
herman carter - the doctor
oh YEAH baby. this guy’s my MAN. he’s a complete SHITHEAD and is TERRIBLE and he’s very fun to watch. Electroshock Andy over here is the giggliest guy on campus and has some really funny builds and gimmicks and is also unreasonably complicated. jumpscare doctor is so fucking funny plus electricity themes are cool even if it is the endlessly fucked up existence of electroshock therapy and military-funded abuse, but what is horror without being a little slice of messed up reality? I never want to go near this man in my life.
anna - the huntress
I like her!! she’s pretty and fucked up. i like predator/prey motifs and she’s got a nice voice. my fav thing about her is the existence of orbital huntress. hilarious as hell. you can just cross-map bean someone with a hatchet to their skull. fuck yeah.
jeffrey hawk - the clown
he’s not even the cunty jester or joyous giggler kind of clown. he’s a freako with a thing for fingers that drugs people. i don’t want to be anywhere near this man in my life. fun short film though. damn good horror villian I just. ewwwwwwwwww
rin yamaoka - the spirit
she should be allowed to kill people actually. literally just some kid as far as I know. i’d be pissed off too if my dad got so fucked over by a company that he started killing people. living in the scary dimension and stabbing people sounds like a way better time than that. saw someone cosplay her once at a convention too and that was pretty neat.
the legion
genuinely wonderfully funny concept. these lot are just some kids that kill people as a hobby. they have a logo and listen to mixtapes while doing it and all. they’re spy mains that think they’re hot shit. the title is unreasonably cool for what they are. the fact they just have to like lie down and take a moment to go wheeze after using their ability is great too. they forgot to pack an inhaler or four to the scary dimension
adiris - the plague
frankly unreasonably badass design. ancient mesopotamian preiest that just like.vomits on people. i'm not too invested in whatever she's up to religion-wise i just think the fact she horfs up blood as a projectile weapon is sick as fuck. the censer as a melee is cool too
kazan yamaoka - the oni
this is the spirits great great peepaw or something aparently. i do love the aestehtic of traditional japanese masks i just wish the mask here had the big ol' eyes and bigger teeth. he hits people with a big club too i guess. neutral on this bloke.
caleb quinn - the deathslinger
IRELAND MENTION LETS FUCKING GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
otherwise this is a sick guy. old freak who got fucked over by capitalism so hard he decided to build a gu and shoot people with a harpoon about it. plus he's a cowboy. consideirng my biggest interest right now is great god grove, i am predisposed to liking cowboy motifs. also he's really funny in the 2v8 gameplay ive seen you literally just go fishing
talbot grimes - the blight
his main gameplay loop involves ramming into walls like an idiot before hitting someone with a big stick. i guess thats what the infection from hollow knight does to a guy. my only other strong opinion is that they shuould make his rushing running scream be the scotland forever voice clip
charlotte n' victor deshayes - the twins
can this game be normal about facial differences for two fucking seconds . anyway te concept is neat i guess and i like how kicking the infant is so tempting within this game that theres apparently entire meme playstyles based aroud baiting people into kicking the baby, thus getting them out of position for you to go hit them with your scythe
ji-woon hak - the trickster
shame that yet another title that couldve been used for a cunty jester has been taken. oh well. at least we have this guy who's pretty neat. a whole thing based on the k-pop industry is a rlly oddball choice for a horror game, but i dunno i've heard that said industry can get pretty fucked and exploitative. also i like neon colours a lot. the whole bit with him making his synths out of samples of his victims which he goes on to put into his work is really neat i think. hes kinda just some guy though
carmina mora - the artist
alright. her design is really neat and i like all the ink and strong red and black colours and her weird claw hand she turns her hand into. but she is possibly the funniest design slip-up ever. she's chilean and from chile and her major thematic throughline is crows. apparently, chile is like, one of the only countries to not have crows in it. lmao
the dredge
dredge!! dredge my friend dredge!! one of the three Creatures Buddies, dedge is like so fucking cute to me. thats a puppies dog. sure this puppies dog was formed from a dark fucked up ritual spawned from a jonestown situation and is the amalgam of hundreds of people stuck in a high-control cult enviornment, but consider that they're a puppies dog. i think if igave them a sugar cube things would be ok
tarhos korvács & the wacky bunch - the knight
i mean, cool ass concept of a murderous knight and his buddies all being played at once. i'm otherwise neutral. not really a medeival fan, but they're cool i suppose.
adriana imai - the skull merchant
alright she was definitley spawned from the result of a gaggle of designers throwing concepts at the wall and trying to shove them into a pile. a cut-throat millionare who kills ceos for fun, a comic book hero brought to life into a villian by the author's daughter, and a sci-fi high-tech conniving surveillance master murderer. i can respect that mish-mash design philosophy a lot but i'm otherwise also neutral. her little claw arm contraption thing is fun though
hux-a7-13 - the singularity
i really, really like hux! i'm a sucker for evil AI, especally one that's also getting into bioengineering and meaty mechanics. for a heartless killer who's hellbent on the kinda cliche goal of becoming the ultamite lifeform by assimilating others genetic info, he's actually kind of a smug snarky cunt. he calls people worms for no reason. he literally calls people annoying for screaming in pain. i think he and p03 would get along disastrously.
the unknown
one banger to the next. unknown here is a wriggly strange mass that's a love letter to creepypasta, urban legends, found footage and perhaps even the more recent development of analog horror. a squirmy fella who steals voices and fucks over anyone who comprehends them. doesn't even wanna be in the scary spider dimension if i recall correctly. i love the disjointed voicelines that come across as them mimicking whatever they've heard, but they're definitley like.. sapient. i think they have a dashing smile and a lovely crawl.
portia maye - the houndmaster
um. hi. hii hello ma'am. hellou. hi.
this is the newest addition, and she's a doozy. scotish pirate lady with a big ol' dog she loves very much. i don't know much about her.. but apparently her dog's breed is like, a notably loyal and strong one used as a guard dog/ and the lady herself? oh my god she's so fucking pretty. the gold and red on the coat. her badass knife cane. im quaking in my boots for a variety of reasons. i don't find her scary, don't find any of this lot traditionally scary, but yknow. she/s still sick as hell.
#horror cw#body horror cw#dead by daylight#i aint even a fan of this. i just have opinions and lots of them#maybe ill make more reviews of things and post them for fun#become the bogleech wannabe i am destined to be

Regarding Daniel’s vampire eyes: The boring and even frustrating - but what I think is the most likely - reason for Daniel’s vampire eyes 1) being revealed as they were and 2) being the same color as Armand’s - is probably…
1. That they came up with a more fun/in-character reveal with the sunglasses for Daniel after the script was written. And that due to this ”new reveal” Daniel’s eyes were meant to look ‘normal’ through his shaded glasses (the glas in the glasses working as colored contacts) and then his vampire eyes were going to be dramatically revealed as he took them off. But when they looked back at it during editing, they wanted to make it clearer (or more visually dramatic) that his eye color was different, so they used ”movie magic” to make Daniel’s eyes appear his ”normal” blue/green for a second longer than they should have - making the change more evident (and dramatic!). Alternatively possibly EB struggled with the colored contacts (I think some people are allergic?) and it was all movie magic - and a goof. However I don’t find this latter scenario very plausible, EB put out a photo of his new colored contacts expressing excitement about wearing them. I’m pretty sure the decision was motivated by the wish too make the reveal as visually interesting as possible, which is a bit annoying since it doesn’t make any sense lore-wise.
2. Regarding the color - the script specifics that they are yellow right? Possibly Rolin’s simply chose yellow since that is a strong color, which would have differentiated Daniel from the rest of the main vampires (at the writing stage at least)? But then Santiago’s eyes (and Madeleine’s I think?) ended up being yellow - and/or yellow simply didn’t look good on EB/Daniel - so they went with something else. I’m pretty relieved they didn’t go with yellow, but it frustrates me that EVERY vampire(?) except Louis and Lestat have yellow or red. It is a bit uninspired, and dull, no? I also know a lot of Daniel fans want his eyes to be violet (like in the books), which definitely might have been better. Possibly violet might have ended up looking too strange though… Louis’ and Lestat’s vampiric eyes are still an unworldly version of ”normal” colors. And the same is basically true for Armand and Claudia. I don’t know, I kinda like vampire Daniel’s eye color but I feel a bit annoyed at the overuse of yellow/red - and the reveal in which Daniel’s eye color definitely changes - for seemingly no real reason - is a bit annoying if it is just a one-off. Would have been more interesting with a dark green possibly or violet/purple.
I don’t think Daniel has been body-snatched by Raglan here simply because Daniel is too much himself - if that makes sense? I don’t think Raglan could act so much like him. I’m convinced Daniel was changed in Dubai as well, which would not really give Raglan an opportunity to steal his body before Armand turned him. However to be fair - there is the unresolved plot of the ’reciprocation’… But in the teaser for S3 I also find it hard to believe that it isn’t the real Daniel we are hearing. And I don’t think the S3 teaser takes place before Daniel’s telepathic phone call with Louis. He is pitching writing another book there - and I’m pretty sure he went to do a documentary with Lestat after doing that, not before. What do you think about all of this? What is the most likely motivation do you think? Thank you!
Hey!
Sooo... first off, I don't think Daniel has been body snatched either. But he might be willing to... "host", let's put it that way. Because, yes, what exactly is "reciprocation" :))) But if he is we'll likely only hear about it much later.
As per your theories:
Maybe. Maybe they just thought it cool. Absolutely possible. If so I want to shake my proverbial fist at them :)))
Yeah, but... no. I mean.... Louis and Lestat, yes, and Marius, and Gabrielle, and so on. They won't give them yellow eyes either. Of that I'm fairly sure.^^ And if that is the case then why did they not give Daniel "his" color? It just doesn't make sense to me. Daniel is one of the few characters that have a very specific book canon eye color. The eyes are not described for every character. His are. I just don't see him with yellow, tbh. They must have a reason for that. *shrugs* Else they could have done Louis' yellow as well.
Ahhh, it's an... unsolvable mystery right now^^. Do come back and discuss it with me again when we know?^^

This is for twisted wonderland. So how about s/o (female preferable) who is the avatar? Has the ability to bend all four elements and go into the avatar state despite only being a freshman.
I like if you could do the dorm leaders in one and the vice dorm leaders in another. Head cannons are fine but if you get hit with inspiration, you can do something else, I’m giving you free reign! Can’t wait to see what you do with this if you do it!
Hi, thank you for the ask! I'll stick with just the dorm leaders for now. I've actually never seen the full avatar series so I'll just go with element usage for now (I only know the lore vaguely haha). Also, I pictured this with a more platonic approach. Hope you enjoy!
Dorm leaders and an reader who is like the avatar
Riddle
I think he would first get confused as to why you don't need to use a magic pen or so for doing any form of what looks like spells. You'd have to explain to him that it's not necessarily the same kind of magic, more like "element bending." There's another thing you have to define now since he'll be asking about that
I think he wouldn't really ask you to do things related to your abilities for him, but he might appreciate it from time to time (ie lighting fire). He will, however, not like it if you were to set the garden on fire by accident haha
I feel like because of how different the power system from perhaps the world you came from (if you got isekai'd basically) he wouldn't really question it. However, let's say this was your magic ability. THEN he has a lot of questions!
You'd be known as a really gifted student at NRC, so I wouldn't be surprised if you two got along just out of the fact that you guys excel in magic.
Leona
Probably (as a joke) tried to challenge you to a duel and almost got his ass given to him by you. Are you strong physically? Maybe. But magic-wise you do have an upper-hand with the ability to use four elements.
He probably thought you were an upperclassmen with your skills but was like "no you look like a child" even if you guys are only a few years apart (he thinks anyone younger than him is just a kid haha)
I think he would like your water or wind abilities the most. The reason? Nothing particular, he just likes things that can help him cool off. He might ask you to use your abilities from time to time
Whether or not you are an avatar though he probably doesn't really understand it very much if you got isekai'd to their world. He'll try his best to understand, perhaps just lend an ear for you if you need to rant about your role. If you didn't, he would have a lot of respect for you and your abilities.
Azul
He's a bit different from the other two in the sense that he will be asking you for help if you two have a partnership. Your elemental abilities might come in handy to him, so he's like "hey let's make a deal :D"
He likes your abilities A LOT. I wouldn't be surprised if he tried to steal them at some point, but he won't. He has a lot of respect for you and what you are capable of.
More than your power to control the elements though, I think he would've fallen in love with you because of your personality. The avatar part just happens to be a nice quirk that he likes. Oh, he likes the water ability the most basically because he thinks it's similar to home. Don't drench him in water though, he might get upset ;-;
As for if you got isekai'd or not, if you did then he would love learning about your world and the kinds of responsibilities you have as an avatar. He hopes you take care of yourself! Then there's the case where you're just a regular resident of Twisted Wonderland. He's just shocked, like damn a freshman with these kinds of abilities?! Will respect you a lot as well
Kalim
Thinks you guys are almost twins since you both have an ability to control water (somewhat for Kalim, though he's more like creating water). He might be the most open to seeing you use a variety of different abilities to control the elements.
For example, he might have asked if you can make the carpet ride you two were on a bit more exciting by using wind. The two of you got an earful from Jamil afterwards but Kalim whispered to you "it was so worth it!" afterwards
I think he would want you to take care of yourself the most though. While he likes seeing you use your abilities, he also doesn't want to see you get stressed out while using them. Will make sure to give you a snack when you look stressed haha
If you got isekai'd he will want to listen to all the things you have to say about your world and your responsibilities as an avatar. He'll have a lot of questions and show that he really is interested in knowing more about you. If you weren't isekai'd, I feel like he would think you're the coolest freshman out there haha
Vil
He thought you were joking at first when you said you could control the elements. As a freshman? You had to be joking, there was no way you were able to use magic that powerful.
Well, he was proven wrong when you showed up one day being able to shift some of the earth into a small mound about your height and then lift it from the ground. He was definitely surprised but more in a "this student must be a genius" sort of way haha
I think that you two probably got closer because of similar interests more than your abilities. Vil also doesn't really want you to use them unless needed out of the fear that you may do unnecessary damage to yourself. He likes your wind ability a lot though, perhaps you used it in a theater production as a stage effect once or twice!
If you happened to have been isekai'd I think he would want to help you out. If this means just listening to you or helping you find a way back home then he will do just that. He likes listening to your tales of home a lot. If you're just a regular freshman though then he really thinks your a gifted student. Lots of respect!
Idia
He probably heard about you through Ortho since you two were sharing a class together. He didn't know what to think of you though since he thought you were joking when you said you could bend the elements.
He likes your fire ability since it sort of reminds him of his hair. He probably wants to see you go all out just out of curiosity but at the same time knows that would probably really bad for your health so he's always like "take care of yourself"
I feel like because he's more of a tech guy you two don't have a lot in common in terms of magic usage or so, but he does like seeing what you can do. You two get along mostly because of similar interests like in the case of Vil.
If you were isekai'd then he would want to learn more about your world and your thoughts on both Twisted Wonderland and back where you came from. If you happen to be a TW resident then he just thinks you're a genius (like him lol). Will definitely be there to help you if you need anything too btw!
Malleus
He's an extremely strong magic user, so to hear of a freshman that could bend elements was new to him. He met you by accident when you guys were just in the same abandoned area of the school.
He doesn't really ask if you can pull off controlling four different elements since he just trusts that you can. He did get to see it a bit when you were showing him your use of fire. Thinks it's pretty cool, you guys are probably the best magic users in the school!
It's nice that there's someone who isn't really scared of him or just wants to be friends with him because of his status, so he likes your company a lot. Will often find him next to you or you two just hanging out in the school courtyard.
If you are indeed an avatar I think he would understand a bit of what the pressure could be like. He's there to help out if you need anything. Also, he's curious about your world, so be sure to info dump him since he loves listening to you!

Kai <3
hii!! ahh you know i love to yap about my boy lets go:
Sexuality Headcanon:
i'm of the general opinion that he's only ever truly sexual/romantically interested in Bon-Bon so take from that what you will lol
Gender Headcanon:
cis he/him - but i can imagine he's not super pressed about things like painting his nails. like he'd be the girl dad (or fun uncle) that lets them put bows in his hair and play around with makeup. he was a teenager in the late 80s so while i do love the way they dress him most of the time I would have done more in the 90s flashbacks personally - (lemme know if you want to see the mood board for my kai inspired MMC i had so much fun building their wardrobes since its set in 2000 lol)
A ship I have with said character:
Bonkai all day every day there is not another option for me i fear. They truly mean so much to me and out of all the relationship fumbles in TVD they're the biggest to me. I personally didn't want kai to 'redeem' himself for her - i just wanted them moving forward together.
A BROTP I have with said character:
my true favorite here is jokai - i wish we'd had more time with their fun twin banter and seeing them grow back into their obvious bond
there's also a lot of lost potential with liv because of the veryyy obvious similarities she has with kai personality wise.
listen, i didn't hate kai and damon together in s8 (it's just annoying that he spends nearly all of his time with him negating the fact that he should be pissed damon killed him to begin with??) but i do think they've got fun friendship potential.
i just know ric and kai would have gotten along if we'd had more time to force them together - the twins have too much in common for ric to not soften to him, not to mention they're technically around the same age themselves lmao
most of the modern fics i've read put him in friend groups with jeremy and that makes a lot of sense to me
A NOTP I have with said character:
kai x katherine makes little to no sense to me and it drives me up the wall that they put it in s8, even as a throw away line. katherine canonically only ever falls for 'good guys' so putting her with kai felt so silly ?? like julie sweetie are you suddenly saying he IS good ??
A random headcanon:
considering how many i have this was the hardest question to do lol idk why ?? i just couldn't decide 😂 but im gonna go with: his favorite sabbat is probably Lughnasadh since it's one of our biggest harvest festivals, but i do think he's a fall boy so samhain/mabon are probably up there for him as well. lots of focus on cooking/baking/the ancestors around that time so catch him getting sad around the old family cookbooks lol
General Opinion over said character:
he's quite literally everything to me lol i binged s1-s6 for the first time in like 2016 and then it legit took me two years to go back and rewatch/finish because i was so deeply annoyed that they'd wiped out not only kai but the whole gemini coven that i just stopped caring. (I finally gave in because I wanted to know what happened to Bonnie and boyyy was I even more disappointed)
I just find him to be incredibly compelling and the entire parker family/gemini coven live in my head rent free. the complex dynamics between them, the rules of the coven itself, the idea that maybe there's a curse involved and the siphons represent something bigger with the spirits - it's just all so cool and i wish they'd gone deeper into the lore and finished it properly. which is why i wrote my book lol
#going through the asks/drafts and i have so many unanswered i'm sorry yall 🙈#i write them out and then sit on them to see if i need to add more and then forget#my bad#kai parker#anon asks#tvdu

Caitlyn's arc as shown by her outfits
Something I think is very interesting from a design perspective is how Caitlyn's story is shown through the outfits we see her wear in Arcane, and what I think each represent meta-wise.
Her first outfit is simple, both in universe and story wise, because it's the uniform of the enforcers while they work in Piltover, and despite being incredibly capable she's stuck as a basic security guard. You can see the hints of what would be her outfit in the end, but as it is it feels incomplete, at that point Caitlyn lacks experience mirrored in how her outfit lacks complexity.
Then we get her second outfit. Story-wise it's just some clothes Vi stole from a random person, to her it has no emotional value (she might not even wear this type of clothes if she'd choose) but narratively it fits her better, doesn't it? It looks less formal than the first one, more casual, a bit more approachable perhaps. It represents how she's gone back to basics, this is not 'Caitlyn the enforcer' this is Caitlyn Kiramman, bit naive yes, but also quick to hug, open to listening, and genuinely wanting to do good.
Which leads to outfit three, now we don't know what happened (Though I can guess, RIP Cassandra, you will be missed) but this is Caitlyn going in the completely different direction. If outfit two Cait was casual and approachable, this one is much more determined and serious, this is a woman with a job and she'll see it through, don't get in her way. And narratively it'd make sense for her to go this way too, she tried being kind, she tried to follow her ideals and she didn't succeed, worse she might blame herself for (probably) getting her mother killed. Again, because it isn't out, we don't know the full story, but if I had to guess her storyline would be about pulling back from her warpath, to find a happy medium between her duty and her genuine empathy.
And at the end we arrive at her Sheriff outfit, which is the one she wears in-game and current lore, and notice how it takes the best aspects of each of the ones that came before.
It's a more complex outfit than the first she wore, that's because she's now the sheriff, she has the experience.
It's a bit more relaxed than outfit three, she still looks like a woman who means business, but also quite less intimidating and unapproachable.
But the most important part for me is that it's purple, like her second outfit. Almost as if she were to remind herself that she needs to keep that empathic self, narratively it's the color associated with Caitlyn at her best.
Mind you, this is all my opinion, and it has quite a bit of speculation on my part, but I think what the design of each outfit means tells an important part of Caitlyn's story, and I think that's super cool.

Oh hey, Hamsteak 2. Looks like Vriska's...back in Alternia? In a dreambubble?
they sent the thief here in search of power; the power to escape the containment i so painstakingly set up for them
Al confirmed as the Candy narrator. Also confirmed that the black hole is "containment" for the dreambubbles and non-canon worlds, and that all the ghosts falling in wasn't an accident of fighting Lord English.
the black hole could only ever shelter them for so long, and in their haste to shrug off my protection they have opened the door to something far, far hungrier.
This panel is a callback to Karkat about to open the door to the New Universe. Where there were interrupted by Jack Noir. Vriska is interrupted by-
Yoo! It's Davepeta! Who feel into the black hole and has been conspicuously absent ever since. They're the only Ultimate who is not connected to Dirk, and in some ways the only "true" Ultimate. Interesting that Al considers them such a threat, when Davepeta has never been anything but benevolent.
Looks like it's all the sprites, in fact. Why...are there two Nannasprites? Oh god, I'm being pushed to the endless limits of my ability to remember Homestuck Lore. Is one of them pre-retcon? I do not remember.
ERISOLSPRITE: wwe'vve been here for liike a miilliion fuckiin 2wweep2. DAVEPETASPRITE^2: B33 < actually we just got here DAVEPETASPRITE^2: B33 < this place didnt even exist until she popped in ERISOLSPRITE: gue22 ii'll fuck my2elf.
It didn't exist until a character arrived, at which point it retroactively existed the whole time, like how a planet works.
DAVEPETASPRITE^2: B33 < does that not sound insane to you fefeta? FEFETASPRITE: 3833 < 383
What? How are Davepeta and Fefeta coexisting? That definitely doesn't make sense.
Well, logic be damned, it's apparently time for a Vriska training arc.
Gah! Talksprites! Also, Vriska enters "Hell" on page 666 of Homestuck 2, which is I think the first time this comic has aimed at any kind of Meaningful Number.
God, we are full on visual novel here. I didn't know Ren'Py could export to web, but I guess it shouldn't surprise me. I presume/hope the save option is default and won't be needed here, it's 1:30am.
Tavros is here and, much more oddly, alive. I suddenly understand jack shit.
I have no memory of Tavros ever forgiving Vriska for anything...or, for that matter, Vriska even being aware she did anything that needed to be forgiven. I presume she's just lying here, though.
This line combined with this pose is the essence of Vriska
So, Vriska's being forced to "grow as a person" and her big idea to finish her character arc is to atone for her sins by getting Tavros to take revenge on her. Vriska thinks that the secret to gaining power is getting Tavros to kill her.
I wonder where she got that idea.
But that time she refused to mind control Tavros into killing her, she wanted him to grow from it, too. Now we're past that.
I felt smart for remembering the K8LL ME bit but we're being really obvious about it now so I guess they just assumed everyone would and I'm not special :(
Oh shit. Erisol wasn't kidding.
Davepeta roleplaying being a cat who dies horribly is kind of the perfect synthesis of Dave and Nepeta. What is this music. It's very toot-y.
Oh hey a text log. How convenient. So we're trapped in a time loop, then, explicitly recreating Groundhog Day. I guess that explains the infinity hourglass on the Plot Point machine.
Vriska's having a bad couple of years.
Davepeta is "countless" cool dudes and kitty girls, which I think is the first explicit confirmation they're an Ultimate Self, though that was pretty strongly implied at least. The only Ultimate to do so without Dirk's involvement.
Stop letting me intuit things and then immediately making them clear! I don't care if it's good writing, it's making my liveblog bad!
It's so weird to compare this Davepeta to the one in Homestuck OG. There Davepeta was presented as this wise sage mentor figure who'd achieved enlightenment, and here they're much more of "Dave + Nepeta's combined silliness as one character". It's a subtle difference, but go back and read Davepeta giving this same kind of talk to Jade back in Homestuck 1. I guess that's the difficulty of a character with so little screentime in the original, they're either very limited or they feel slightly off.
Oh my fucking god, a to-be-continued select screen. Shit, that takes me back in an unexpected way.
Also, from the associated news update, "the big flash" is apparently several months away (10/25?), and I have to say they might want to be careful about overhyping it, if they have small flashes and now Ren'Py novels that are just preludes. If it's anything less than a Cascade after months and months of hype it could fall flat where a surprise [S] Enter would've popped the fanbase hard.
