I've been a voracious archivist/data hoarder ever since I first got access to a computer, and it's paid off more times than I can count. Just the other day I came across a PDF copy of an analysis post for one of my fandoms. The post was made on an old forum and is the most detailed and interesting analysis of a particular story element I've ever seen. Back in like 2012 I saved the post as a PDF, because even then I saved everything I liked.

Anyway, flash forward to 2025 and I decided to see if the URL included in the document was still live. I wasn't very surprised to see that the forum is long dead. However, even the Wayback Machine had no record of this thread. If I hadn't saved a copy of it way back when, I would have never, ever been able to read this analysis again!

The Internet Archive is sadly not infallible, especially when it comes to things like forum threads. You can do your part by manually saving things to the Wayback Machine, but I also recommend keeping your own archives. Aside from just saving pages as PDFs, I highly recommend a browser extension called SingleFile that lets you archive pages as HTML files.

every time i remember Moana exists i remember those two years i spent convinced there was a scene in it where Moana and Maui are talking sitting on the boat at night and Maui has a moment where he realizes that the humans kept begging him for help because they liked him and his company and that was the only way they could make him stay. I also remember the ABSOLUTE MIND FUCK that i got when i re-watched the movie and found out i completely made that up. Like what the fuck why did i do that.

Okay listen. When I decided to give squid Jean (squean) bite marks/scars last year I was just making it make sense that he lived with a pod of orcas who thought it was super fun to scare him and threaten him, I didn’t know tsc would come out and make that detail somehow 100x worse

There are some interesting things that have happened since moving everyone to the new save. Girl! The new year came in swinging IRL and in game, but Imma roll with it. BIG things are in store for Miss Ma'am (and the rest of the save file crew) but I just knew she would find a way to corrupt some shit (again) if I didn't let her show her fine ass face, since it's been a while. She gets on my nervessssssss

Red is truly her color. Black too! Mamas fucks up some Red and Black. Anywho, next time ya'll see her she'll hopefully have new tattoos (and new hair...amongst other things 🙃).
