as the ta server well knows, ive been obsessed lately with the concept of TA animalsonas (technically could be shifter/hybrid AUs too, though the animals are more for vibes than any actual plotline atm) so i thought i’d share some ideas here! yay 💃🏻👯🪩

luke - white king cobra: has gold markings on his crown and one golden eye (in lukronos mode); venomous; retains the slit snake eyes and fangs as human

chris - brown bighorn ram: one horn broken off post-labyrinth, matching with clarisse’s (boar) one broken tusk; retains the horns and the tail as human

silena - pink sparrow: VERY TINY!!; song can enchant like charmspeak but more hypnotic; retains forehead and shoulder plummage as human, like natural accessories/costume; loves flying with beckendorf (black-necked crane)

ethan - swan: no he does not have his eyepatch in swan form, it’s just closed shut; retains plummage around his neck, almost like a collar and also the same black facial markings as a swan, extending from the outer corners of his eyes down to the point of his nose

al - brown greyhound: very lanky and twiggy; retains dog ears and tail in human form; retains ridiculous radium eyes in dog form; is all outfitted (collar etc) by his mom lmao

only sharing luke’s because the rest are so messy tbh HABJENDJS DISASTER!!!… but mostly because theyre concept drafts mainly to help me visualize these things. i do wanna draw stuff like comics etc with these its so fun (ta server has given me so many ideas about crane!beckendorf and swan!ethan just thrashing the absolute shit out of snake!luke)

I almost started crying again. Yay!! The new video out on Instagram has clips from every season including ones we haven't seen of s4. I forgot how new all the actors were. I mean, this was Aidan's second show, he started it when he was only 13. This was literally Emmy's first time in front of a camera, I mean, wow. They all play such complex characters and them all being newish and small actors is just... amazing. They're all pros. They pulled it off so well and beautifully. I'll stop talking about it here because I'm about to cry and that would be dumb, so. I'm really proud of all of them.

Kaycee grabbed her purse and took a final look at herself in the hallway mirror. Already behind schedule, her hand was nearly on the front door when Ethan called out from the bedroom. Rushing down the halls in her high heels, she was nearly out of breath when she reached him.  

“Hey!” she breathed. “You OK? You need something?”

“Yes. I needed you to wake me,” he said as he stepped out of bed. But as soon as he was on his feet, dizziness seized him, and he nearly tumbled to the floor.

“Ethan!” Kaycee yelled. “Get into bed right now! There’s no way you’re going to work today!”

“Why? I’m not... I’m not... I’m nahhhh....ahhhhh-chhhhooo.” He sneezed so loud that the sparrow perched on their windowsill took off for the heavens. But he remained adamant. “I’m not sick!”

Kaycee shook her head, arms crossed defiantly in front of her chest. “You know, when they said doctors make the worst patients, you were exactly who they had in mind.”

“But I’m not....”

Kaycee smiled smugly when he couldn’t complete his sentence. Sneezing once, then twice... they just kept coming. Walking toward him with a box of tissues, she teased.

“Yep. You’re the picture of health."

“This is ridiculous,” he complained, crawling back into bed. “I never get sick!”

“Honey, everyone gets sick sometimes. Now, you’re staying home and getting some rest today! Trust me, Edenbrook will still be standing when you return.”

“Yeah, and I can work on cases from home.”

“Really?” she asked. “Do I need to call Tobias and tell him I’m taking the day off, too... to babysit?”

“No,” Ethan sighed. “If you leave Tobias alone to run things, Edenbrook may not be standing when we return.”  

“You can’t stop yourself, even when you’re sick,” she laughed.

“Hey, if I praised Carrick’s abilities, I’d tell you to consider calling a priest for last rites.”

“Ethan, you’re an atheist,” she smirked, pulling the blankets over him.

“Do you need anything before I go?”

“A hug?”

“A hug..." she cringed. "I'd love to, but... cooties.”

“Cooties?” he asked with a raised brow.

“Yes, cooties.”

“This is what happens when I marry someone who went to Perelman instead of Hopkins,” he smiled.

“Oh really? Keep this up, and maybe your second wife will be from Hopkins. But trust me, she’d never make you as happy as me.”

“You can say that again.”

“She’d never make you as happy as me.”

“I didn’t mean literally,” he groaned.

Kaycee leaned over and placed a kiss on his forehead. “I’ll tell you what. I’ll run home on my lunch break to check in on you, OK?”

“You don’t have to...”

“No, I insist. You’re the only patient I’ll make house calls for.”

“And you know,” he winked, “if I’m feeling better....”

“Oh no!” she replied, rushing away from him. “No way, because...”

“Cooties,” they said in unison.

Ethan’s heavy eyelids began to shut, and he was already sleeping when Kaycee turned out the lights. She looked at her watch; she could just make it to work on time, but her mind was already on her break, eager to give her favorite patient a house call.

Will can't taste it or it doesn't have a tasteless at all. But it still burns the throat and after a while the current sticky heat spreads through the body. Will sobs, pressing his hand to his stomach. He doesn't know if the internal parts will change and he's afraid to ask.

Hecate sits down next to him, stroking his head, a silent maid, a lilac dryad, with sympathy in her chestnut gaze removes a golden tray with empty vials of today's potions. Will was sick of the sight of sparkling glass with the occasional drop of pearl liquid residue.

He knew, he understood, even if Hecate was silent like a fish from a mixture of shame and guilt, and Hermes limited himself to distant, vaguely formed compliments. Will understood everything, Will's tongue was cut out in the end, not his eyes were gouged out.

Will looked in the mirror and clearly saw the changes that made him want to get to something sharp and cut himself - the way his skin paled and lost its natural dark shade, turned porcelain white and much smoother, sparse down on his body became even thinner and even whiter, his hair grew much faster and thicker, shining and lush, voluminous like his mother's, he gained a little weight, his body seemed to blossom and curves appeared where they should not have been.

With each passing day, with each cursed use of these potions, Will looked more and more like the photographs of his mother taken in her teenage years. His body was becoming feminine and as unlike him as possible - a subtle hint of breast development, the newly formed curve of his hip, a soft face and hair falling to his shoulder blades.

Will slowly turned into something that could not possibly be him, Will did not want to look in the mirror, Will avoided taking a bath like the plague, Will wore the most shapeless and long chiton and began to cover head with a veil to hide his face and hair that could not belong to him.

Lee was still there for him, Ethan was still supporting him, even though Will felt like an ugly abomination and like a big part of him was dying - Lee still called him his brother, Ethan still kissed the top of his head. They still loved him, even though Will felt unworthy of it.

"Koros" Hecate's voice pulled him out of his thoughts and Will looked up at her - her face was absolutely calm, but her green eyes glittered painfully just like Al's after another night with Zeus "I'm sorry, I'm really sorry."

Will felt something snap inside him, he sniffed tearfully and pressed into her, her soft warm belly, the goddess seemed so maternal and kind... Hecate hugged him too, her hands were pleasant and gentle on his skinny back and a couple of scalding drops fell on the top of his head.

In the bluish surface of the smooth mirror in a gold frame with sparrows carved on it, those who could be mother and daughter were reflected.

Will suffering brings me pain. The fear, the absolute disgust of himself. "He doesn't know if the internal parts will change" them changing means loosing the last part of his old body, his old person.

The whole transition robs him of his body and identity. "Will looked more and more like the photographs of his mother taken in her teenage years" and "Will slowly turned into something that could not possibly be him" show exactly that. Hermes wants his May, a lover gone insane, and he forces it unto Will, transforming him slowly into her little copy (May is legacy of Apollo in this AU).

This body is not his anymore and he can't look at it anymore: he feels like an imposter in his own skin. Is it his now, though? The boy from before wasn't this pale and broken. He had freckles skittered around his face, torso, arms and legs. There aren't any on his face and he can't handle looking down on limbs and torso to check.

Lee and Ethan are still caring and try to distract him from these thoughts. But how can he accept it? It's wrong, it feels like he's stealing it from the bright boy that is fading away now. He doesn't deserve this love and affection; it was Will Solace's first, not whatever's he has become.

Hecate is gentle and apologetic with him. He had prepped all of these potions, but he understands that she would've never done that if she wasn't pressured by higher gods. She was as helpless as him, sitting before him and consoling, hugging his small shoulders.

But why should it be like this? Why can't he stay himself? He has already lost his voice, innocence and many siblings. Why can't he have this, why must he lose the last piece of himself?
