A rewrite of a CH scene
Like every night, I went back to my room right after dinner. I decided to look through the library, filled with books. I looked high and low to find an interesting one and found a book with weird symbols written on the cover. Somehow I knew what it was, though. "CLANAE." That was it; just one word.
I started reading through it. It was in that language of abstract and strange symbols, but I knew what they all meant. It detailed the events of a species called Clanae, and they had long, pointy ears with spikes on the bottom, just as my own did.
There were drawings of this magic, that acted as fire does, and the Clanae and their homes. As I read through it, I came to what seemed like a chapter, about the magic. Suddenly, a small purple flame was coming out of my palm. As I stumbled back, the book dropped with a loud thud. I looked it over and turned my hand, only for it to roll across my hand, now on the back of it. I turned my hand back over and wondered if it would come from my fingers as well.
As soon as I had that thought, it went out and came up from my index finger. I played around with it a bit, controlling it and rolling it around on my hand. Then I heard the clicking of the door opening. "Icarus!" A familiar voice I recognized as Jace's yelled, "What is that?!" As I turned around to face him, I saw he had stumbled to the floor and was staring at me in horror. The fire puffed out with a bit of smoke.
"Uhh—! Well, I was reading about Clanae Magic and this just… happened!" I stammered, "I don't know, Jace!" "Wait… you can read that stuff?" Jace asked, getting up. He came over and picked up the book and flipped through the pages. "You can read this?" He pointed at one line of text. "Yeah. 'Us Clanae live thousands of years, through hundreds of Celvin lifetimes.' That's what it says."
Jace scoffed a bit and stared at the book in confusion. He then mumbled, "Wait, what are Celvin?" "I haven't gotten to read that yet." I shrugged and took the book back, slipping it onto the shelf again. "But why'd you come in here?"
"Oh. Uhh.. no reason. Just wanted to check on my good pal, yeah?" Jace chuckled a bit and playfully punched my shoulder and straightened his clothing.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I am wondering if I should make this a different perspective like 3rd? Please give feedback
With Bria being KBE-less, she's got more time on her hands. When she's not wedding planning, she's renovating. During the unveiling of Emmitt and Bria's new shared office, she gets an unexpected call.
Transcript Under the Cut
Bria: Ta-da! Welcome to your new office!
Emmitt: Wow.
Bria: So, what do you think? Be honest.
Emmitt: I think it looks great.
Bria: Do you really? Because if not, we can change it all back.
Emmitt: No, I like that now we have a bigger family room where my office was.
Emmitt: I love your little art studio. Getting back into it?
Bria: Yeah, I’m hoping it will fill some of my free time. At least until we get our KBE plan in motion...
Emmitt: And most of all, I love that I get to work side by side with my beautiful wife.
Bria: I’m excited about that, too. Hopefully it works out for us.
This story would normally begin with an alarm blaring; waking Emmitt up from a night full of pleasantly arousing dreams of gluttony. But Emmitt was always awakened by his servants rolling his breakfast trays into his room. No alarm is needed - once the smell of bacon, eggs, beans, sauages, toast, and more hits his nostrils.
His eyes opened. Both hands automatically cradling the side fat of his impossibly huge belly. He would gently scratch his fat fingers across the prominent stretch marks. They were so sensitive, due to his fantastically quick weight gain.
He loved being fat. Being able to reach down to grab handfuls of lard surrounding him caused ripples of pleasure throughout his body. Especially knowing that the hundreds of pounds of fat trapped him where he was. It was almost a badge of honor for him.
The servants themselves couldn't stand what they believed to be an immoral attraction to fat on the part of their employer. But it didn't change the fact that they were paid well, so they were required to bring him plates and plates of food throughout the day.
The chefs, who prepared his one and only pleasure: food; always tried not to think about where that food was going. Their job was to come up with the most flavorful creations for their gluttonous master. To them, keeping the distance between their skillful cooking and who was going to consume it, was what kept them from quitting entirely.
The chefs did not envy the tasks of the servants. At least they could practice their culinary art without their eyes being affronted with the immobile obese man who employed them. The servants didn't have that luxury.
The breakfast trays were rolled next to the king sized bed which was the permanent home of the 900 pound man they worked for. Due to his extreme size, they never needed to help him sit up to eat, because he couldn't lie flat on his back anyway. If he did, the weight of his breasts would choke him. Blubber, like a river, settles with gravity. So Emmitt was almost always propped up with pillows and his adjustable mattress - the head of the mattress at a 45° angle.
The trays were delivered and parked next to his bed. Then, the food was placed on a large table with a swinging arm that moved horizontally to rest in front of him - almost like a hospital tray that could move over his nonexistent lap. As he grew over the years, the table attached to the bed needed adjustments. Mainly to raise it higher and higher as the fat of his belly accumulated vertically. He loved the fact that his belly grew rounder and rounder, rather than the fat looking deflated and reaching his knees like a blanket.
Once the food was delivered, he ate.
And ate.
And ate.
It was almost impossible for him to get full. This always frustrated him. He loved the feeling of being full; so full he almost felt nauseous. But he had developed a tolerance to his own gluttonous appetite. At this point he could eat all day, constantly sucking down calories, and his belly never felt full. The satisfaction of a rock hard belly was no longer possible for him now.
His fantasies of a feeding tube - lard, butter, cream, extreme caloric intake... was what he wanted. The dream of reaching half a ton was going to be fulfilled, even if he couldn't match his sexual desires.
At least 178 people have been rescued from homes and vehicles in Harris County, Texas, an official said Saturday, with more rain expected over the weekend in the wake of strong storms and downpours that damaged homes and triggered evacuations.
No deaths or serious injuries have been reported, Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo told CNN, adding more than 100 pets have also been rescued during a deluge that has left livestock stranded.
“It’s been really sad to see the impact of people’s livelihoods, homes, infrastructure as well as just the public infrastructure,” Hidalgo told CNN Saturday.
“We’re really asking folks to give it a minute before they go back home.”
Most of the weekend rain will fall over western and central Texas, but a chance of heavier rain returns for the greater Houston area on Sunday. The heaviest downpours in central Texas will occur upstream of the flooding in Houston – which is located in Harris , potentially exacerbating flooding in a region where 12 river gauges have reached major flood stage.
This week’s storms were just the latest in a series of brutal weather events that have pounded the state since early April. Dozens of tornadoes have hit from the Panhandle to the Gulf Coast, some areas of the state have been pounded with softball-sized hail and months of rain has fallen in East Texas in intense spurts, causing rivers to rise to levels not seen since the devastating floods of Hurricane Harvey in 2017.
The Storm Prediction Center issued a tornado watch for southwestern Texas – including San Angelo and Del Rio – until 10 p.m. local time. Severe thunderstorms capable of producing a few tornadoes, hail as large as grapefruit and damaging winds up to 70 mph are possible across the region this afternoon and evening, according to the center.
“The risk for a strong tornado may maximize during the late afternoon to early evening timeframe,” the center warned.
A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect from southeastern New Mexico into northwestern Texas until 10 p.m. local time. It includes Abilene and Midland in Texas, and Carlsbad, New Mexico.
The forecast comes as some communities north of Houston picked up nearly two months’ worth of rain Thursday. This rainfall plunged roadways underwater and forced rivers to overflow, leading to evacuations and water rescues.
Here’s what’s happened in South Texas Friday evening:
• San Jacinto County, 60 miles north of Houston: About 100-200 homes are affected by floodwaters and mandatory evacuations are in effect. The event is “85% worse than Hurricane Harvey,” Emmitt Eldridge, the county’s emergency management coordinator, told CNN. Eldridge said since they are downstream from Dallas along the Trinity River, “we are expecting to see a lot more water” because of additional rainfall. “Anything they deal with, we deal with,” he added. According to Eldridge, there have been at least 58 water rescues in the county so far. More rain is expected in the area next week.
• Walker County, about 70 miles northwest of Houston: Authorities are calling the floods historic there as well. “This has been a historic flood for Walker County. We have flooded more from this event than we did during Hurricane Harvey,” Sherri Pegoda, Walker County’s deputy emergency management coordinator, told CNN. According to Pegoda, two communities are underwater along the Trinity River and are only accessible via high-water vehicles. “Almost all roads in Walker County were completely submerged Monday night and into Tuesday,” Pegoda said. “We still have approximately 43 roads that are flooded with several major washouts and a couple of bridges that have been compromised.” At least 42 high-water rescues have been performed in the county since April 28, she added.
• Polk County, about 80 miles northeast of Houston: Roughly 700 homes have been flooded, according to emergency management officials, who warned additional rainfall could keep flood levels on the rise in the coming days. A total of 1,000 homes are in a mandatory evacuation zone in the county, Polk County Judge Sydney Murphy told CNN. A flood warning remains in effect Friday for the County. The judge said they were concerned and keeping an eye on what was happening north of the county with the flooding because it would impact the area. “Due to continuous rainfall across East Texas and rising levels in creeks and rivers, flood levels may increase. Please remain aware of changing flood levels along the Trinity River and ALL low-lying levels. If you wish to evacuate, please do so now!,” the emergency management office recently said in a Facebook post.
• Harris County, which also includes several northern Houston suburbs: Mandatory evacuations have been in place since Thursday for residents on the east side of the East Fork of the San Jacinto River. The river hit major flood stage on Thursday and is forecast to crest Saturday morning just a few feet shy of the record level during Harvey. “We want you out of this area… this is a life-threatening situation,” Hidalgo said at a newsconference. The level of water rise anticipated will impact elevated structures and may rise to reach rooftops or power lines, according to Hidalgo.
In the Harris County suburb of Crosby, a school bus driver spotted flooding over a road that had not yet been barricaded, stopped the bus and had the middle and high school students on board exit through the rear door, according to a statement from the school district. Another bus brought the students to school, where they were provided with breakfast and dry clothes, the statement added.
• Liberty County, about 45 miles northeast of Houston: The Coast Guard transported a 12-hour-old baby girl by helicopter from Cleveland, Texas, Friday. The girl was experiencing low oxygen levels at Texas Emergency Hospital, which does not have a neonatal intensive care unit, according to a news release from the Coast Guard. Due to flooding, she could not be transported by ambulance on the ground. The helicopter took the girl and her mother to Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston, where the baby was reported to be in stable condition, the release added.
Voluntary evacuations due to flooding were also in place for Montgomery County, just to the north of Harris County.
Disaster declarations are active for over a third of Texas counties after Gov. Greg Abbott expanded the storm-related declarations in response to the flooding, according to a news release. Additional counties could be added in the coming days, particularly with more storms in the forecast.
Parts of eastern Texas have received anywhere from three to seven times their typical rainfall over the last three to four weeks. The repeated bouts of heavy rainfall soaked soils, making many areas extremely prone to both flash and river flooding. Nearly a foot of rain fell in some spots from Thursday to Friday morning, delivering the final blow. Periods of rain will continue through Friday evening, and an additional 1 to 2 inches of rain are possible.
The worst flooding is confined to southeastern Texas where at least a dozen river gauges – including parts of the San Jacinto and Trinity rivers – are in major flood stage, the highest level, as of Friday morning. Several more sites are forecast to experience major flooding by the weekend and could meet or exceed record levels set during Harvey.
Hurricane Harvey created a widespread flooding disaster in Houston after dropping 30 to 40 inches of rain across the entire metro in just 48 hours. While this week’s ongoing flooding is notable, it’s much less widespread and occurring north of where Harvey’s worst rain fell.
Powerful storms rolled across the state
As torrential rain flooded eastern Texas, severe thunderstorms spun up tornadoes both north and south of the Abilene area in west Texas. There were eight reports of tornadoes Thursday, according to the Storm Prediction Center.
A “large and extremely dangerous” tornado impacted the towns of Hodges and Hawley – about 10 miles north of Abilene – Thursday evening.
Around 30 homes in Hawley were shredded by the tornado’s winds, with entire sections of some homes left completely exposed. Cars in the area also sustained damage from flying debris. There were “numerous” injuries, but no deaths as of Friday morning, Hawley Police Chief Brad Wilson told CNN.
At least one area school district is allowing students to study from home or take time to recover Friday, following Thursday evening’s damaging tornado.
“The Hawley community has been hit pretty hard and we have several families that have lost homes,” the Hawley Independent School District said in a Facebook post.
Rainfall totals from flooding in Texas and Louisiana this week showed nearly two feet of rain in five days, according to the National Weather Service. Totals ranged from 23.56 inches in Groveton, Texas, to 18.42 inches in Livingston, Texas.
the pokemon postal system finally comes through
not only can i finally bring at least some of the pokemon from my gimmick pokemon y playthrough i did before scarlet came out to my scarlet file, i can also bring my girl pretzel forward
below: my pokemon y character Fern and some of her pokemon on the champion screen. images are tremendously low-quality
(the gimmick of this playthrough is that i wanted to use an oshawott and a mismagius cause i had recently gotten plushes of them so i hex edited them in in place of my starter)
i also decided that Fern Emmitt, the trans (see the hat) protagonist of my pokemon y playthrough, was 14 in the fall and winter of 2013 when the game took place, and that she was also the cousin of the protagonist of my pokemon scarlet playthrough, Amanita Ibarra (who is cis and 14 in the fall and winter of 2022 when that game took place)
so in 2022, fern is 23 and a grad student studying pokemon evolution and lives mostly out of the public eye (because being publicly given a national medal of honor as a trans 14 year old in 2013 is not good publicity) (and she's also dating shauna because their rapport really struck me as gay on the replay in a way it Definitely Didn't when I was playing the game for the first time almost 10 years ago, possibly because i'm more aware of my own gayness now)
but yannow some of her pokemon don't adjust well to the sedentary life, they're trained as a battling team after all. so she's having to think about what to do and she's having to reckon with the tough choice of maybe giving them away to some upstart trainer who'll be good to them
but then she learns that her baby cousin amanita is an up-and-comer in paldea! she's a whole champion and everything, she's on her own journey, battling all sorts of people, having questionably homoromantic friendships with girls about her age, etc etc
and so this way she can give her pokemon what they want, and she can still visit them every so often, and if she ever feels like picking up the professional battler thing again she can just ask for them back.
so she sends em off to paldea. that's the backstory i've decided for this usage of pokemon home.
as for pretzel? uhhhhh fuck. fell into an ultra wormhole and landed in amanita's pocket. sure
meet Crowbar (originally Oshawott, now Dewott)
Genevieve (originally Misdreavus, now Mismagius) (side note: it takes SO LONG to get a dusk stone in pokemon y. it's like, just before the 8th gym. absurd)
Renard (Hawlucha)
and Rosaline (originally Flabébé, now Florges)
let's hope amanita takes good care of them.
honestly, there really is something about these mentorship narratives that get to me. somethin about passing on your skills, what you've learned, gained in your life, to someone who's where you used to be, hoping they'll take their own approach, make their own path?
maybe it's the fire emblem nerd in me but that's very emotional to me. and if i can make everyone involved gay, hey, all the better.
there's also something about the very specific Video Game Protagonist Neurodivergence the protag of scarlet/violet has. it's very relatable to me. someone's said something, here are your options for how to respond. i think a fanfic author could take advantage of that, and one day i may, once i take care of all these wips i have...
anyway, there's also something to the fact that pokemon y was the first pokemon i really engaged with as a kid who was growing into a Frequent Internet User. my first starter i ever picked in Y was the first pokemon I ever raised to level 100 completely legit, no rare candies or anything. i was real invested in that game for a real long time
so maybe it's that too. nostalgia i guess
man that reminds me i gotta replay pokemon sun one of these days.
hey it's almost like being able to feel emotions thanks to transitioning makes stories hit me differently! gosh if i put it that way there's a lot of stuff i need to replay, rewatch, reread...
well, that's for later.
(OH ALSO, PRETZEL. PRETZEL GETS TO COME TO PALDEA TOO)
(WHAT A SLEEPY GIRL. I LOVE HER DEARLY)
9 Books I Saved from the Store at the Barnes and Noble 50% Hardcovers Sale
Can you believe that people were just going to leave these books at the store without homes? I simply couldn't bear it, so I picked them up and took them home so that they might have a good home in the new year.😂
As I write this, it is in fact the last day of the Barnes and Noble After Christmas 50% off Hardcover sale. Last year, I only brought home two books. This year, I took a few more than that.
As always: Summaries are from Publisher/Author sites.
If any of these interest you and if you are able, please support your favorite bookstores or local libraries when acquiring these and other books!
I'm Glad My Mom Died by Jennette McCurdy
Jennette McCurdy was six years old when she had her first acting audition. Her mother’s dream was for her only daughter to become a star, and Jennette would do anything to make her mother happy. So she went along with what Mom called “calorie restriction,” eating little and weighing herself five times a day. She endured extensive at-home makeovers while Mom chided, “Your eyelashes are invisible, okay? You think Dakota Fanning doesn’t tint hers?” She was even showered by Mom until age sixteen while sharing her diaries, email, and all her income. In I’m Glad My Mom Died, Jennette recounts all this in unflinching detail—just as she chronicles what happens when the dream finally comes true. Cast in a new Nickelodeon series called iCarly, she is thrust into fame. Though Mom is ecstatic, emailing fan club moderators and getting on a first-name basis with the paparazzi (“Hi Gale!”), Jennette is riddled with anxiety, shame, and self-loathing, which manifest into eating disorders, addiction, and a series of unhealthy relationships. These issues only get worse when, soon after taking the lead in the iCarly spinoff Sam & Cat alongside Ariana Grande, her mother dies of cancer. Finally, after discovering therapy and quitting acting, Jennette embarks on recovery and decides for the first time in her life what she really wants. Told with refreshing candor and dark humor, I’m Glad My Mom Died is an inspiring story of resilience, independence, and the joy of shampooing your own hair.
Come Home
Come Home is a story by Emmitt L.T. Thatcher, they/he. They have worked on this for a year or so, and was inspired by works like:
Project Ember by 2am Animations (Capcut and YouTube)
Percy Jackson and the Olympians(and all subsequent books/series) by Rick Riordan (Books)
Greek Mythology
The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis (books)
Emmitt made sure to incorporate a lot of diversity into their story, such as;
People of color
LGBTQIA+ characters
Characters with trauma/PTSD
Different body types
*Emmitt does not have PTSD and they are not a POC, nor do they claim to be either. If you have tips on how to write characters who are these things, please tell them.
Come Home is a fantasy novel with side romance and a lot of work and time put into the story making.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Let's meet the characters! Feel free to ask Emmitt about any of them, they will happily answer your questions.
Icarus "Russ" FLARE, 20 years old (He/him)
Russ is the main character of Come Home. He's a transgender pansexual male who has trauma from being in a war as a child. He is Clanae, a species special to Come Home, which are sort of like elves from pop culture. He is the main translator for the cast, as he knows how to read and speak both Clanae and Celvin.
Jason "Jace" Notch, 23 years old (He/him)
He is one of the main characters and is Icarus' love interest for most of the book. Across the book, we will find out that Jace might not be the loving, compassionate, and kind man we know him to be. He is a gay man and he has minor PSTD from his abusive childhood. He is a Celvin, which is the name for humans in Come Home.
Sera(Seh-rah) Pérez, 25 years old (She/her)
She is one of the main characters and is a sister figure to Icarus. She is a transgender lesbian female and she gets jealous easily. She was the person who took Icarus in when he had nobody. She is a Celvin.
Kyre(Kai-uhr) Snowe, 26 years old (They/them)
They are one of the main characters and is Sera's love interest for most of the story. They are a nonbinary bisexual. They are a Celvin, but they are learning how to read Clanae. They are one of the least developed in the story, but Emmitt is working on writing more of them.
Lacy Dexter, 32 years old (She/They)
Lacy is a side-main character and she is the commander of the Clanae army. She is a demiromantic and demisexual woman. She is Clanae and she is the oldest of the entire cast. She has mastered Clanae magic, but prefers her bow and sword.
Asher Dexter, 32 years old (He/they)
Asher, like his sister Lacy, is a side-main character. He's an asexual omniromantic man. They are the second oldest and is Lacy's twin, being just a few minutes younger than her. He is a Clanae and is learning Celvin. He has mastered Clanae magic, but is the least recognized as strong. He is Kyre's best friend and Mateo's ex-partner.
Mateo Raine, 30 years old (He/him)
Mateo is one of the antagonists and is Celvin, however, he understands Clanae and can read it. He has mastered Victorian Fire, the Celvin's magic, and he is an omnisexual man. Emmitt has two ways his story could go; either the main cast defeat him in some way, or he gets redeemed somehow.

All It Took Was One Look - Chapter 41a
*Warning Adult Content*
Liam
"You can take him home today," the doctor said.
I tensed as I looked over to Mr. And Mrs. Carlisle.
They were happy as they should have been but I didn't think that it was a good idea.
"He will be weak so make sure that he goes through his physical therapist so he gets the strength back in his limbs. Also make sure he comes back in the next two weeks for a checkup," he informed us.
We agreed and I waited for the doctor to leave as we stood outside Aiden's door.
"Thank God, he's okay to leave so early. I'll get the car ready," Mrs. Carlisle said while her husband smiled.
I hated to do this but I was looking out for my mate... it was necessary.
"Um... Mrs. Carlisle. Can you wait for a second?" I asked.
She looked up at me with a questionable look.
"What is it honey?"
I took a deep breath.
"I don't think that taking him home with you is such a good idea," I stated hesitantly.
Looking from Grace to her husband I kept eye contact with both.
I stood straight... all Alpha at this moment.
Emmitt frowned at me.
"Excuse me?" Grace said her brows scrunched in confusion and disbelief.
I understood because what I was about to say would be hard for them.
"I think that Aiden should stay with me for the time being," I told them.
I heard Grace gasp in outrage.
"Why the hell would we do that? I have been worried sick about my son for too long, to just let you take him away. Are you out of your mind?" she exclaimed stepping close to me.
I didn't flinch at her tone merely stood there my face composed.
"Grace," Aiden's dad called to her.
She snapped her head over to him.
"Don't start Emmitt. I want my son home, now," she yelled.
He sighed closing his eyes.
"I know honey. I do to," he said.
Grace turned back to me.
"You are not taking Aiden. Just who do you think you are?"
Her blond hair was hanging over one shoulder wildly making her look like an avenging angel with her face of anger.
She was a very beautiful woman.
"I think I'm the man that loves your son more than anything in this world and I refuse to let him get hurt again," I said firmly.
She scoffed at me while Emmitt looked at me thoughtfully.
"You what?" Emmitt asked softly.
"I love him, sir," I confessed.
"That's all fine and dandy but you are not taking him and that's final," Grace said crossing her arms.
"Is Brent still living with you?" I glared over at her.
She opened her mouth but shut it... looking away from me.
"I refuse to have Aiden anywhere near that bastard. This is not going to happen again. I have no idea why he's not in jail right now... where he should be," I snapped out in rage.
"My brother's flight has been delayed. We can't do anything till they come back. He's family Liam. Even after what he did... I have to leave that up to his parents. As much as I want to let him rot in jail," Emmitt growled through clenched teeth. I shook my head.
"Aiden's not going home until Brent's gone. Till then I would appreciate it if you allow him to stay with me," I told them.
I knew this was hard on them.
"NO," Grace yelled at me.
Her husband wrapped him arms around her leaning his head close to her ear to whisper words only she would hear.
But of course I hear everything.
"I know this is hard but I think it's best. Until Brent leaves, Aiden wouldn't feel safe at home."
She shook her head, tears building in her eyes.
He pulled her closer as she wrapped her arms around his neck and buried her face in his shoulder.
"I miss him, Emmitt," she sobbed.
"I know baby but he's safer with Liam then us at the moment," he said caressing the back of her hair in a soothing way.
After a while he looked up at me and nodded curtly at me keeping his wife in his arms.
I inclined my head in thanks and turned to the door and walked in.
Aiden was slowly lifting a spoon full of pudding in his mouth.
I smiled at him making my way over to his bed.
He looked up at me stuffing the spoon in his mouth.
"How are you doing?" I asked him.
He shrugged at me.
"I feel pathetic," he muffled around his pudding.
His voice was better than when he first started.
I chuckled leaning over and pecked his cheek softly.
"You are not pathetic," I scolded causing him to roll his eyes.
"So... I can go home today," he said.
"The nurses told me."
I nodded my head.
"How would you like to go away with me?" I asked him.
I've been thinking about this ever he woke up.
"W-what?" he looked up at me with a frown but I kept my smile on my face.
"I've had enough time to think since your coma and I want to have alone time with you Aiden. Have a weekend with just you, no interruptions, no people, just you and me."
I watched him hopefully.
He was speechless as he stared at me wide eyed.
"Please Aiden. I need this. We need this," I added.
He bit his lip looking down at his pudding for a while before looking up at me and giving me a beautiful smile.
I felt the relief swarm me.
"Thank you," I breathed.
"Wait, what about my parents?" he asked suddenly.
I ran the back of my fingers over his cheek.
"They said that you can stay with me for a while. It's for the best right now."
He gave me a questionable look.
"What do you mean?" I sighed.
"He's... still there," was all I said.
He was confused a little before his face cleared in understanding.
"I... don't..." he stuttered nervously.
"It's okay, Aiden. That's why I'm taking you with me. Plus I want time with you alone... like I said."
******
I left the hospital for a bit to let Aiden's parents have some time with him as he got ready to leave.
They brought him a big bag of clothes with them.
I told him I'd be there to pick him up in thirty minutes.
Right now I was going to the Pack house to get my things.
"Liam."
Dominic came up to my car as I got out.
"Hey."
I closed the car door and walked up to the house.
"How's Aiden doing?" he asked me.
We jogged up the stairs to my room.
"Good. The doctor said he can come home," I said opening my room door.
"That's good man but you're not going to let him go home with his cousin still there, are you?" the hesitance in his voice was understandable.
I could lose it at any moment whenever I heard his disgusting name.
I turned to look at Dom.
"Hell no, I told his parents that he was going to stay with me till the little shit was gone."
I reached in my closet pulling out my travel bag, grabbing the essentials.
"Where are you going?" he asked as he watched me stuff it with clothes.
"Aiden and I are going away for the weekend."
"Wait?" he frowned.
"Is he ready for that?" he asked.
I stopped and peered at him.
"What do you mean?"
He bit his lip.
"I mean he just got out of the hospital a week ago. Shouldn't he be taking it easy?"
"And that's exactly what he's going to do," I assured.
"I'm taking him away from all the stress that being here would do. He's not going to his house and my house if full of werewolves so I'm taking him somewhere special."
I went back to pack.
When I was done... Dom was sitting on my bed staring at the wall.
Zipping up my bag I sat next to him.
"How are you doing, Dom?" I asked him softly.
He scoffed shaking his head.
"I'm doing... it's horrible."
He lowered his head, rubbing his hands up and down his legs.
I've known him long enough to understand what that gesture meant. He was on the verge of crying.
"Hey, man..." I wanted to say it was going to be alright, you'll get through this but those where pretty words.
A lot of our kind have been reject by our human mates once the truth was out, some come around in the end.
But what if Jeanine never does.
"Hah. Look I've g-got to go," he struggled to say lifting his head up.
He was trying to make me less worried by putting a smile on his face but it was a pretty pathetic attempt.
"Have fun with your 'boyfriend'. You deserve it," he told me with honesty in his tone.
I watched him stand and walk out of the room.
I sighed as I grabbed my bag after sitting there think of what I could do for him.

Creeksbrey Palace | Umbrage, SimDonia | 10 Days Until the Wedding
Gianni: Family, we have arrived!
Gianni: Oh, you guys are all... at the door... waiting. I guess I should've known.
Bria: Of course, we're all here to greet you and your guest, Gianni. That's not weird.
Gianni: Sure, well. Everyone this is Jennifer. Jennifer, let me introduce to the crew.
Gianni: Starting with the siblings, this is my #1 Pain in the butt, Ella.
Ella: Ugh, ignore him! I'm his most awesome sibling. Hi!
Gianni: This is Rose, my youngest sister.
Rose: Hi! You're pretty! Want to see my new kitchen playset?
Gianni: Later, Rose. And finally, the reasons we've flown out here, my brother, Grayson and his fiancé, Olivia.
Olivia and Grayson: Nice to meet you!
Gianni: And finally, the 'rents. Mom, Dad, you know.
Emmitt: Welcome, Jennifer. Thanks for coming all this way.
Bria: Yes, welcome! We are so happy to have you. Love your outfit.
Jennifer: Thank you! Wow. Hi, everyone! Thanks for the warm welcome and letting me be here. I'm excited to get to know everyone better. You have a beautiful home.
Ella: We're much more excited to get to know the girl that actually likes Gianni.
Gianni: Don't start, Elle.
Bria: Well, bring it in for hugs. How was your flight? Sorry, we couldn't send our jet. They're being real sticklers lately.
Gianni: No worries. Dad's old one is fine. Well, guess it's mine now.
Jennifer: It was great! I've never flown in a private jet before.
Rose: Really? How do you fly to far places?
Ella: Oh my, Watcher, Rose. You can't just ask someone why they don't fly private.
Bria: Please don't see these crazy children as a direct reflection of me.
Jennifer laughs nervously: No, it's okay! An honest question.
Bria: Rose, some people don't have their own planes, so they fly with other people... on other people's planes. You know what, listen to your sister.
Ella: Oooo, that's rare. While I'm up, would you like to see some embarrassing photos of Gianni?
Jennifer: Oh, sure!
Ella: I have so many!
Gianni: Oh my, Watcher.
Grayson: Not regretting this already, are you?
Gianni laughs: You're lucky I like you, man.
Grayson: It's nice to see you, G.
Bria: Ella, stop embarrassing your brother!
Ella: Dang. Don't worry I have plenty more. Another time.
Gianni: Soak it in because you might not be seeing me for a while.
Olivia: Hey, Gianni! Thanks for flying out!
Gianni: Aw, I wouldn't miss it. How's wedding planning? Do you even know what it's going to look like or is that all in momzilla's head over there?
Bria: I heard that.
Olivia laughs: It's going well! Honestly, it's nice having help. And we've been able to... come to compromises.
Grayson under his breath: Not enough.
Bria: Heard that, too.
Bria: Now, while you're here, Jennifer, please let us know if there is anything you need. We want you to be comfortable here.
Jennifer: Thank you, Your Royal Highness!
Bria: Please, all my friends call me Bria. I can tell we're going to be friends. Anyone that makes my son as happy as you seem to is a friend in my book.
Jennifer excited: Of course! Your son makes me so happy, as well! You clearly raised him well.
Bria: Thank you for saying that. I worry about that one. But, if he could pull a girl like you, maybe I didn't fail him!
Jennifer laughs nervously: Thank you.
Gianni: Alright, can we break up this welcome wagon?
Emmitt: How about you two head up to your room and get settled?
Bria: Yes, we've still got work to do. The rest of the fam will be trickling in in the next couple of days.
Gianni laughs: Back to work, people. There she goes cracking the whip!
Bria: You'll be working, too, sir! Don't get too comfortable!
Before departing, Bria and Gianni share a look which conveys a message only they can hear.
Gianni: So?
Bria: I like her. You did good.
Gianni: Thanks, I do, too.
