I saw a post the other day about how isolated Eddie is from the other characters even before texas. They do this plot for the whole team & every main involved, where an army medic actually would make narrative sense and he's nowhere to be seen. He's the guy who talked about the family we choose ffs. He better magically show up next ep. Rant over.
For as much as I've loved season 8, and I'm on record talking about how much I love season 8 (it's my favourite season since season 5), I have been sorely disappointed with the way Eddie's story has been dragged out and how it's been handled.
And really quick – this isn't me hating on 911. I love 911. I have so much fun watching every week and yelling about it on here. It's something I look forward to and will hopefully continue to look forward to, but I've just been bummed with every week the Eddie and Chris story drags on.
Before I get into it, because I will be getting into it, I want to caveat this by saying that when I say I'm disappointed with how Eddie's story has been handled, I don't mean I want more Eddie (though I will always take that), what I want is for Eddie's story to integrate into the main cast more. Chris leaving impacted him so much but the only person he really talked to about it on screen for most of 8a was Brad.
So let's start with Brad. The Hot Shots story was fun, but it didn't need to be dragged on like it was. I know that Tim really liked Callum and loves being self referential, but the episode where Brad came to the 118 really didn't need to happen. For example, that episode could have shown up Hen and Karen adjusting to having Mara back and had that as Eddie's final push to fight for Chris.
8a had multiple mentions of Eddie's medic background, including him doing a risky procedure to save a teenager (and then going out of his way to talk some sense into the dad of that teenager). in 8x12 Buck mentioned Eddie's Silver Star. There have been reminders about Eddie's medical background and his Army service sprinkled throughout the season and, while there is obviously still time for a payoff, it feels like Tim did the thing he does where he adds in too many extra side stories and latches on to side characters that he likes, making them bigger than originally intended *cough* brad *cough*.
I'm sure the ABC schedule didn't help. If I'm remember correctly they thought 8x9 (Sob Stories) was going to be the mid-season finale. I know there are things outside of the shows control.
I've seen a few people mention that in s5 Eddie was also separated from the team and that's true, but not like this. In s5 we still had Buck and Eddie seeing each other in person, we had Eddie and Bobby's fight and Eddie's subsequent apology. We had Eddie as the first on the scene for the fire at dispatch and then he joined the 118 to save the day.
Maybe the point is Eddie's absence, but it really feels like they just don't know what to do with him while they build to whatever gets him and Chris back in LA.
Again, I'm not even asking for more Eddie stories, I'm just asking that his stories actually get resolved and that he gets to be with the team! Because you're right anon, Eddie is the guy who talked about the 118 being the family they choose. It seems like maybe the show forgot that part.

The journalist Rachel Foertsch just said “I have feelings. There will be much to discuss on Thursday.” and when someone asked if it’s about 911 she replied with a crying gif.
Haha uhhh that doesn’t exactly sound like buddie is going canon in this new ep like the besties have convinced themselves? They’re already saying “Ok ok we might not get anything solid in the new episode but TRUST AND BELIEVE they will be fully canon by ep 13!!”
Just let it go besties, and enjoy your non canon ship through fic and art.
One huge problem, imo, is that besties ALWAYS assume these "journalists" are vague posting about Buddie. And they want them to think that for engagement purposes.
But we know that Maddie is going to be in danger. So, I'm assuming their reactions would be in regards to that. Let's not take away from Madney AGAIN like they tried to do for the wedding episode...
We also know the pet shelter emergency is in 8x9. I, for one, hate when animals die or are in danger in shows or movies (police horse rip 😭) so could even be about that.
Once people realize Buddie isn't the heart of the show, we might know peace.

I dont like this house ep tho (8x9). so far it's just Wilson and house being aphobic and I do not like it. I can normally handle house but it's these types of episodes (like the intersex ep) that make me regret watching the show

Thanks For All And Happy Watching! TELEVISION SHOW AND HISTORY A television show (often simply TV show) is any content produced for broadcast via over-the-air, satellite, cable, or internet and typically viewed on a television set, excluding breaking news, advertisements, or trailers that are typically placed TNTween shows. Television shows are most often scheduled well ahead of time and appear on electronic guides or other TV listings. A television show might also be called a television program (British English: programme), especially if it lacks a narrative structure. A television series is usually released in episodes that follow a narrative, and are usually divided into seasons (US and Canada) or series (UK) — yearly or semiannual sets of new episodes. A show with a limited number of episodes may be called a miniseries, serial, or limited series. A one-time show may be called a “special”. A television film (“made-for-TV movie” or “television movie”) is a film that is initially broadcast on television rather than released in theaters or direct-to-video. The first national color broadcast (the 080880 Tournament of Roses Parade) in the US occurred on January 080, 080880. During the following ten years most network broadcasts, and nearly all local programming, continued to be in black-and-white. A color transition was announced for the fall of 08068, during which over half of all network prime-time programming would be broadcast in color. The first all-color prime-time season came just one year later. In 08078, the last holdout among daytime network shows converted to color, resulting in the first completely all-color network season. FORMATS AND GENRES Television shows are more varied than most other forms of media due to the wide variety of formats and genres that can be presented. A show may be fictional (as in comedies and dramas), or non-fictional (as in documentary, news, and reality television). It may be topical (as in the case of a local newscast and some made-for-television films), or historical (as in the case of many documentaries and fictional series). They could be primarily instructional or educational, or entertaining as is the case in situation comedy and game shows. A drama program usually features a set of actors playing characters in a historical or contemporary setting. The program follows their lives and adventures. Before the 08090s, shows (except for soap opera-type serials) typically remained static without story arcs, and the main characters and premise changed little. If some change happened to the characters’ lives during the episode, it was usually undone by the end. Because of this, the episodes could be broadcast in any order. Since the 08090s, many series feature progressive change in the plot, the characters, or both. For instance, Hill Street Blues and St. Elsewhere were two of the first American prime time drama television series to have this kind of dramatic structure, while the later series Babylon 8 further exemplifies such structure in that it had a predetermined story running over its intended five-season run. In 80088, it was reported that television was growing into a larger component of major media companies’ revenues than film. Some also noted the increase in quality of some television programs. In 80088, Academy-Award-winning film director Steven Soderbergh, commenting on ambiguity and complexity of character and narrative, stated: “I think those qualities are now being seen on television and that people who want to see stories that have those kinds of qualities are watching television. To counter the stupid & hateful trolls: How about a question about Dean? If you'd have to chose 3 character traits/qualities, which are the ones you love the most about him and why? (I couldn't make you decide on just one, because I think choosing only 3 is already hard enough ^^)
Yes, back to the important things; Dean love!
First, much appreciated allowing 3 bc yup, already tough enough lol.
His immutable loyalty to loved ones. Ik recently I did a post saying it was prob his biggest flaw as much as an asset & that opinion stands but it doesn’t make it a bad quality at all. I only say it is a flaw bc aspects of his life could have been better if he wasn’t so loyal & he’d have gotten hurt less. Now why it’s a good quality; it’s really beautiful & quite rare. A lot of ppl don’t even have basic loyalty anymore & Dean’s able to keep his under immense circumstances. Once you’re in Dean’s inner circle you’re there for good. He’s not turning his back on you. He’s thrown himself to the wolves countless times for Sam. He killed his way thru Purgatory looking for Cas then refusing to leave him even tho Cas put a bigger target on them. Look how he acted with John; willing to follow him to the gates of Hell if need be. S11 being completely adamant abt getting Cas back before using Lucifer as a weapon. Bobby, he respected him like a 2nd father & was willing to do anything for him.
His sense of humor. Dean will go from being a total perv to making lame dad!jokes to being silly like a 7 year old. And his sarcasm & one liners are always on point. I like it bc he’s funny but also bc it shows his complex nature. Dean’s this tough guy with a lot of baggage & that type is a dime a dozen in fiction but they’re usually brooding & snarky & that’s all. Dean’s humor is layered just like his character.
I think Dean is easily the most caring characters. With Sam & Cas he’s always in the care-taker role. He was so sweet & gentle with Charlie. And look how he was with Claire last ep; between being protective of her against bar douche bags & getting so upset when he thought she was dying he needed air. And he shows a great deal of it with perfect strangers. He seems very good at knowing whether someone needs a kind gesture or a kind word. I loved in 8x9 how he didn’t say a word to Benny’s granddaughter, he just stopped, put a bandanna to her wound & gave her a reassuring touch on the shoulder. Then other times he knows words are needed & he ends up telling smth personal abt him that helped or smth. This guy TALKED Amara down from ending the world bc he empathized with her.
Yeah, only three was tough but I love these.

So I was going over the date of the stills for the past few episodes and it looks like they simply film out of order and in blocks.
We know they filmed episode 4 first. Then 6. And then 5. They also film in blocks as stated again My guess is they then were filming 7,8 and 10 in blocks. The scene with buck in eddies house was taken at Jan 7 which would work with the timeline if they were filming ep 9 AFTER they came back from the break, but BEFORE the evacuation. I think that’s why there’s a gap in terms of when things were shot. When they came back, they probably stared episode 9 (hence the rescue dog)… they were allowed filming outside. The goodbye scene was Jan 30. Still filming indoor. So they probably finished 9, 10 and 11 all during the same weeks. To try and catch up. I don’t think anything was changed or altered in the story.
This would make sense if Tim hadn't said 8x9 and 8x10 were finished in his interview right after 8x8

Thanks For All And Happy Watching! TELEVISION SHOW AND OWN A television show (often simply TV show) is any content produced for broadcast via over-the-air, satellite, cable, or internet and typically viewed on a television set, excluding breaking news, advertisements, or trailers that are typically placed TNTween shows. The first national color broadcast (the Tournament of Roses Parade) in the US occurred on January 8, 88. During the following ten years most network broadcasts, and nearly all local programming, continued to be in black-and-white. A color transition was announced for the fall of 88, during which over half of all network prime-time programming would be broadcast in color. The first all-color prime-time season came just one year later. In 88, the last holdout among daytime network shows converted to color, resulting in the first completely all-color network season. Before the 88s, shows (except for soap opera-type serials) typically remained static without story arcs, and the main characters and premise changed little. If some change happened to the characters’ lives during the episode, it was usually undone by the end. Because of this, the episodes could be broadcast in any order. Since the 88s, many series feature progressive change in the plot, the characters, or both. For instance, Hill Street Blues and St. Elsewhere were two of the first American prime time drama television series to have this kind of dramatic structure, while the later series Babylon 8 further exemplifies such structure in that it had a predetermined story running over its intended five-season run. In 88, it was reported that television was growing into a larger component of major media companies’ revenues than film. Some also noted the increase in quality of some television programs. In 88, Academy-Award-winning film director Steven Soderbergh, commenting on ambiguity and complexity of character and narrative, stated: “I think those qualities are now being seen on television and that people who want to see stories that have those kinds of qualities are watching television. What are your favorite parts of Dean Winchester's personality? :) And when did you realize he was going to be your favorite character (for me, I decided he was going to be my favorite part way through the pilot- I remember thinking "this guy's a smartass and he's a really awesome and nice guy and I LIKE HIM already!" and I just continued to like him more and more as the show went on- and now I'm in love with him and think he's such a well-crafted character :) )
tbh it’d be easier to tell ya what I didn’t like lol. A few that especially stick out tho; his loyalty, compassion/empathy, determination, sense of humor & big heart.
Loyalty. This boy may not have many ppl in his life (anytime ya wanna stop killing ppl he loves that’d be nice, show) but once Dean cares abt you it sticks. He’s always ready to do w/e for someone he cares abt.
Compassion/empathy. Dean can go from having a big emotional talk to comfort someone to not saying a word & just offering them a gesture...both work. He seems to be really good at reading ppl & what they need, emotionally speaking. When they need/want to talk he offers a story abt himself that relates or gives some advice. When they need/want quiet he’ll give a comforting look or gesture (one I liked a lot was in 8x9 when Benny’s great great w/e grand daughter was near shock, sitting on the steps covered in blood. Dean stopped, put a bandanna over her wound, held it there & touched her shoulder. All to reassure/comfort her w/o a word)
Determination. Does this boy even have quit in his vocabulary? Nope. Dean may expect the worst a lot, with good reason, but he’s always ready to go down swingin’. It doesn’t matter how stacked against him the odds are, he comes to play.
Sense of humor. Be it him being a perv, snarking sarcasm, witty one-liners, making lame ass jokes or having a silly 7 yr old streak, Dean is funny. Scratch that, Dean can be friggin hilarious. I find it all the more special considering all he’s been thru. A lot of characters with they built up tragic past like Spn has, they’re oh so serious & brood 24/7. Dean knows how to laugh. He can still take amusement out of the little things & find enjoyment in them. I love it.
The big heart...all the above I just said & more. When Dean loves he throws himself into it a thousand percent. He’s very passionate too. He’s enthusiastic abt his loves & he often wears his heart on his sleeve.
Dean got my attention in 5x4, his phone call w Cas. I was watching TVD & got distracted by smth or other & left the TV on & Spn was on after & I heard this voice that I was instantly drawn to (Dean has a very calming voice to me & I enjoy listening to it a lot) so I stopped w/e I was doing & started watching. “The voice” was talking abt demons, the Apocalypse, Lucifer...I like this type of stuff so I really start to pay attention & “the voice” starts sassing an angel w sarcastic quips so I instantly like him. By the end of the ep I was intrigued w the whole show & I knew Dean was def gonna be my fav. I did start to catch up some before the next ep the next week so I wasn’t totally confused when it went from The End 2014 stuff back to regular lol. Then by like the next week I was up to date & I never swayed from my initial opinion. My love of Dean only grew & grew & for a while now it’s been a full blown obsession...but I like the disease.
