what i love about the Famous Actor Natori Shuuichi of it all is that...it's not just that he's famous and therefore widely recognizable wherever he goes. like yes that is very funny because he was an exorcist before he became a famous actor, which means he CHOSE, on purpose, a day job that would make it harder to hide his double life/secret identity from the hordes of his adoring public, but it's more than that. it's not just that he's famous, it's that he's famous specifically for being an ACTOR, aka a person whose job it is to dissimulate, to make believe, to inhabit roles and emotions other than his own. like he decided he was going to become as visible as possible (which again was literally not necessary! he could have gone into any other career for his day job!!) but in such a way that everyone would see him but no one would see him - they would just see his various made-up personas, including the Famous Actor Natori Shuuichi persona. i can't decide if he's a genius or if he just made so many absurd decisions that they canceled each other out and circled back around to working out. he's either playing 9-dimensional chess or he's eating the pieces. too soon to say.

Obviously the fingerstripes were going to be there but I also really like the 2021 design of having the blue palm as well. I like the idea that it’s like an extra grippy material.

I wanted the V pattern on the chest to be obviously bird-like but the eagle head…. Just is not my favourite. I DO like the little chips making the V look like wings from TNBA. I know there’s also a version of the flying graysons that have this design on the chest I just cannot remember which comic it was from

I know he’s supposed to be a night guy and stealthy and all but I really liked bright coloured boots from his first two outfits… and if he can wear pixies boots as a kid he’s allowed bright boots now

The neckline is inspired by the new52 fit (the design element I like the most aside from those funky little hip stripes, but I think they’d made this suit too busy) it also seems like it’d just be more comfortable on the neck honestly

And then I wanted his domino mask to harken back a bit more to his robin one so I smoothed out the bottom :)

i cannot for the life of me remember who made that post with the headcanon about the black family losing a lot of their wealth.

but i've been thinking about it a lot. and in england from early to mid 1900s, the aristocracy changed fundamentally as a class, they lost a lot of their previous held power as well as a lot of their money. and because of this, they either had to get a job (the aristocracy is the leisure class. they don't work), which means leaving behind the traditions of your class and your family in order to modernise and keep your money/power, or they could sell off their large estates/lands/artworks in order to keep tradition of the aristocracy as much as they could, but it meant losing a lot of money/power.

there's this quote describing this change in the aristocracy actually- "less power, more prestige". in staying with the traditions of old money, they lose the power they had in government/economy/whatever, but gain lots of admiration and respect from society- like they still have honour and integrity despite losing their money and power, which then becomes their primary tool in still being seen as an influential family.

and with the black family being known as "the noble and most ancient house of black", that definitely could show they chose that pathway. they're clinging onto their lineage of nobility in a time when the aristocracy as a class and the idea of high society is very much falling apart. and unlike quite a lot of these families, they don't modernise but instead keep their heads high and very much make it known that they are nobility and an ancient family, and have no intentions of disrupting this and losing the meaning of what being an aristocrat and a noble used to mean.

my pkm hc for ludger & casey:

half of them are self-explanatory, and the other half are just the vibes lmfao

i heavily associate luxray with ludger because it's the only "fake" dark type pkm in his team, implying the truth about his self-proclaimed villainy. it holds a flame orb that occasionally inflicts a burn status and a portion of damage to itself in exchange for a massive boost of power when using Facade and especially with its Guts ability — which is just in line with how emotionally motivated he actually is under his mask and how much he willingly destroys himself in order to achieve his goals.

meanwhile, one of caseys primarinas moves is sparkling aria, which could eliminate the burn status of its targets on contact, signifying her wish to help ludger heal but the cost would be standing in his way of achieving his true desires as well as ruining ludger himself and whats left of their current relationship.

caseys water/fairy dual type primarina can easily wipe out most of ludgers dark type pkms due to type effectiveness but chose not to because... reasons.

ludgers luxray is an electric type pkm that can annihilate half of caseys team but also chose not to because... reasons.
