A dynamic I wish the show brought up more is that Peter never actually catches Neal. He doesn't. Neal always lets himself be captured. His original arrest he knew full well that it was a trap laid out, and he chose to step into it. The second time he literally just sits and waits for Peter to catch up. Those aren't true captures on Peter's part. He doesn't outsmart Neal, he doesn't get the upper hand on him, all Peter does is, essentially, do what Neal wants him to, on Neal's terms.

I'm watching 3x06 with the whole "You need to hit rock bottom to change." // "When did you hit rock bottom?" // "I never said I did." interaction, and like. Yeah. Prison was a consequence Neal was originally willing to pay to get back in touch with Kate, and Peter was the means to that end. The second time, again, Neal needed Peter to get to Kate, so he enacted the C.I. relationship thing.

It's never about reformation for Neal, and Peter knows that which is why he never truly trusts Neal, but I think if the show would've leaned more into Neal having chosen all of this then it could've gotten a few layers deeper into Peter's perception of Neal.

Had a heartfelt talk with one of my coworkers today

He lost the love of his life a few years ago due to Covid. He was with her for 14 years and I knew that this would be painful for him.

We talked and he told me his biggest worry is his daughters and I felt both compassion and sick inside. Compassion for his daughters and sick knowing that this country hates his daughters for being black women.

We hugged and reassured each other. Both of us were in bad spirits and because we work in customer service that meant we had to put up our best faces and pretend we were okay when clueless customers asked us how we were doing.

We aren't doing fine.

And personally? If YOU, as a customer, see a black employee or female employee who looks down; don't ask us how we're doing. You know we aren't okay and it's annoying enough to force a smile on your face so don't make us lie to you as well.

All throughout the day I barely managed to keep a somewhat friendly face on. Usually I'm good at pretending. Even when I'm in physical pain or even when my step father assaulted me again. But today? Today people could sense my anger, my sadness, my unintentional rudeness.

And hopefully they give me enough grace to not try to get me in trouble with my boss because they felt slighted.

It's hard pretending to care about your fucking sandwich right now. Deal with it.

In recent news of Matt Gaetz I always feel the need to remind people of the pure ignorance he has towards the entire topic of diabetes

I feel like everyone has their own beef with Matt Gaetz but as a type 1 diabetic this is my personal beef with him. No I can’t just get rid of my diabetes. I didn’t choose this for myself, my pancreas literally decided to off itself when I was 9 years old.

I also feel the need to mention that I am very fortunate to have insurance, but there are a lot of people who are not in my position who are literally rationing their insulin or choosing between food and insulin after they see pharmaceutical companies are charging $600+ for a LIFE SAVING medication. And you might be thinking “oh it must be very difficult to manufacture insulin??” No. It literally costs less than $10 to manufacture a bottle of insulin.

For reference, with insurance I am currently paying $400 a year for my medications and without insurance I would be paying $5,240 a year. And that’s just for insulin ALONE. Thats not even counting my needles, test trips, glucose monitors and my medication if I have a seizure.

To sum it up, FUCK YOU MATT GAETZ, and I hope you jump off a bridge.

I'm not thinking about it. I am making the active decision to not think about it. If I think about it, I will spiral. I cannot spiral right now. There is work to do and life to live. So for now, I am not thinking about it.

I will remember this though. There are approx 345 million people in the US. 71 million is a lot. It's a scary lot. But it is not half. Not even a quarter.
