was searching for some rvb intro music on youtube to put under the beginning of this survey results video i'm working on, and accidentally uncovered a long-buried memory of when a PG cut of red vs blue aired on the el rey network stupidly early in the morning like 9 years ago, and subsequently laughed so hard i cried at this stupid intro they made for it

EDIT: Here's the two promos they made for it, i forgot they actually aired all the way up through chorus, too

I wonder if the PG cut still exists somewhere, that'd be fun to revisit

EDIT 2: So i've discovered that there may be two different censored for TV cuts floating around. there also exists a TV-14 cut of the show that can currently be watched on Tubi and Peacock, of all places. I don't remember the el rey version well enough to really know what the differences may be, but I plan on doing some more digging. will keep y'all updated.

MEXICO CITY (Reuters) -The United States on Wednesday imposed sanctions on 10 Mexican nationals and one company in the country for their alleged involvement in the Sinaloa Cartel's fentanyl trafficking network, its latest effort to stem imports of the drug.

The 10 people sanctioned are allegedly linked to accused suppliers of precursor chemicals used to make fentanyl, which has been attributed to a sharp uptick in U.S. overdose deaths.

The sanctioned list includes Noel Lopez Perez, the brother of Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman's second wife, and Ricardo Paez Lopez, a cousin to the youngest of El Chapo's sons.

The sons, known as "Los Chapitos," are accused of leading a faction of the Sinaloa Cartel after their father's capture. The fourth son, Ovidio Guzman Lopez, was captured in Mexico earlier this year.

The U.S. Treasury also sanctioned an import-export company, REI Compania Internacional, and its majority shareholder for allegedly receiving chemical shipments from China.

The Biden administration has been seeking increased cooperation from Mexico and China in stemming the flow of fentanyl and its precursor chemicals.

🇪🇸 En los siglos XVI y XVII, la ciudad de Viseu (Portugal) albergó una comunidad de cristianos nuevos (judíos convertidos al cristianismo) que desempeñaron un papel clave en la vida económica y social. Ubicados en las principales calles de la ciudad, lideraron el comercio local gracias a sus conexiones familiares y redes transfronterizas. Ocupaban importantes profesiones como médicos, abogados y recaudadores de impuestos para el rey y los obispos. Aunque esta comunidad buscaba integrarse en la sociedad cristiana vieja, adoptando sus costumbres religiosas y participando en instituciones como hospitales, hermandades y cofradías, su identidad seguía marcada por un sincretismo religioso y la preservación de su memoria colectiva. Sin embargo, las leyes de limpieza de sangre y la persecución de la Inquisición terminaron por desarticular esta comunidad. Muchos emigraron, mientras que otros enfrentaron prisión o la confiscación de sus bienes, dejando a Viseu sin este valioso capital humano.

🇺🇸 In the 16th and 17th centuries, the city of Viseu (Portugal) hosted a community of New Christians (Jews converted to Christianity) who played a vital role in its economic and social dynamics. Residing in the city's main streets, they led local trade using their family networks and cross-border connections. They held prominent positions as doctors, lawyers, and tax collectors for the king and bishops. While this community sought integration into Old Christian society by adopting religious customs and participating in institutions like hospitals, brotherhoods, and charities, their identity remained influenced by ritual syncretism and the preservation of collective memory. However, blood purity laws and persecution by the Inquisition dismantled the community. Many emigrated, while others faced imprisonment or confiscation of their assets, depriving Viseu of valuable human capital.

Get to Know... Rio Derringer

Rio is a junior studying Film and Visual Studies at PNU. After a harsh reality check from his now girlfriend in freshman year, Rio hunkered down and got a path mapped out for himself relatively early into his college career. He is currently living with his friend and cousin, Atlas Odair, and his friends, Cade Everett and Lev Sebastian, in what they have affectionately dubbed a 'bachelor pad' despite his committed status.

Through trial, error, and the infinite wisdom he has espoused from Ruby, Rio has managed to find a healthy blend of making good progress towards his life goals while also finding time on the weekends to let loose before too much responsibility starts to rest on his shoulders. These joyous moments are often shared with his younger sister, Scarlett. To her obvious dismay, Rio seems to have no interest in extending her the same freedom to have fun as she explores young adulthood.

Quick Facts

Age: 21 Aliases: Derringer, El Rey (friends) Personality: A carbon copy of Adonis. Rio is affable and charismatic in a crowd. His magnetic personality is difficult to ignore, making him difficult to look away from. He thrives on the engagement and never shies away from being the center of attention. If he wasn't supposed to constantly enjoy himself, life wouldn't have so many amazing, funny, and beautiful moments. Motivations: While his ego may be somewhat inflated, he does have a decent head on his shoulder overall. He knows that there is a time and place to focus on achieving academic success and seeing his long-term goals come to fruition. His pride may lead him to make silly decisions occasionally, but it also encourages him to love and support his family. Current Goals: Graduate and begin working, map out the future with Ruby/win over Idris as quickly as possible, make mom and dad proud.

Current Job: Rio manages the social media accounts for PNU's Young Payloran group on campus. While this is an unpaid gig, it has given him a solid role to place on his resume and offered him full access to networking with alumni, faculty, and other students. Best Quality: Simply put, Rio is a blast. There's never a dull moment when he's around. If you ever need to get out of your head and just relax, call up Rio. No life moment seems too heavy for him to not know just the way to cheer you up and get you laughing again. Worst Quality: It has been suggested that he may not take life seriously enough - but that's something he is working on. His biggest offense is his hypocritical treatment of Scarlett. While it does spawn from an innate desire to protect his little sister, it would be naive to not recognize the inherent gender/power imbalance at play between them. Hobbies/Interests: Outside of school, work, and saying 'yes, dear' to everything Ruby says, he enjoys spending as much as possible at the beach. While he respect his family out in 11, he was born to be right here in 4. There's always something to see or do and he requires constant stimulation.

Other than that vague answer, he maintains decent sized social media followings for his personal account and the Young Paylorans account. And though they never make a big deal out of it, he loves to take Ruby dancing for date night and has run into his maternal grandparents at the studio more than once. Family: Mom and dad are huge motivations for Rio and he is on great terms with both of them. There have been times that he and Adonis both got in trouble with Hazel but those are neither here nor there. The bottom line is that the Derringers are a very close knit and loving family that also happens to be deliberately withholding information from Scarlett. It's not their best idea but they all feel as though they have no other choice but to respect Waya's wishes, even if that means keeping something from Scarlett. They've convinced themselves that they're doing it for a good reason.

Somewhere between the sibling love of the Everetts and the sibling rivalry of the Odairs, Scarlett and Rio have a run of the mill relationship. The get along until they don't and then it's an ongoing war. Repeat as many times as needed. She seems to be growing more weary of his rules and pestering as they are getting older and figuring out who they are as adults, which is a prospect that has both Rio and Adonis more nervous than they would care to admit. Looking back, Rio has come to regret asking for Waya to spend more time with Scarlett while he was away at college as it has become rather apparent that there are sparks between Waya and Scarlett.

He enjoys spending time with his grandparents and uncle Hunter and is extremely close with both Ari and Atlas. Aunt Nadia and Isla can be a bit too uptight for him to want to spend a considerable amount of time with beyond a family get-together. Other Relationships: Being the extrovert extraordinaire that he is, Rio has friends everywhere. If he doesn't have any friends when he enters a room, you can bet that he's leaving with several. This superpower is how he encountered Cade and Lev despite their differences in academic standing and majors. He's grateful for having met them as they've become such a big part of his life.

Ruby Derringer has a nice ring to it. If Rio gets his way in the future, he'll make sure to lock it down with her. She's everything a man could want and she doesn't need to remind him of that. She still does, but he's well aware. She keeps him on his toes and never hesitates to put him in his place. She's brains, beauty, and basically the best thing that ever happened to him. If only her stubborn, irritating, hater of a brother could just accept that Rio isn't going anywhere...

The third member of his original trifecta with cousin Atlas is Waya. From an early age, the three of them have followed in the footsteps of their fathers and have been the closest of friends. Having years of history built up saved the friendship when Waya experienced his first major manic episode freshman year and drunkenly hooked up with a girl Rio was casually seeing. Despite being angry, both Rio and Atlas couldn't ignore how extremely out of character it was and how 'off' Waya had seemed leading up to that point. They made amends and begrudgingly promised to keep his illness under wraps for years to follow. This ends up blowing up in all of their faces and leads to his relationship with Scarlett (and to some degree, Waya) being extremely strained for a while.

While Ariston would love to have a paragraph dedicated to their 'beef', Rio rarely thinks about that loser at all, which only makes him angrier.
