Anna
A regal song to titillate all ears; A syllable or two, yet so it seems That every cloud from heaven disappears And moon-illumed arise forgotten dreams.
And whether called upon with silver tongue, Or sighed in gold's inaudible exhale, The palindrome resounds that sacred song Wherethrough the mysteries of night unveil.
Yet 'tis not her song that opens the skies, It is the magic when she heeds that call: A smile, a twirl; the twinkling of her eyes Expands eternity within The All.
As Anna shines, I know but one eclipse: Her name, as when she draws it from my lips.

What if Elsa and Anna’s parents survived their trip to Ahtohallan and back?
The thing is, there were answers in Ahtohallan, but they weren't very actionable or useful for your average person.
Elsa gets something out of it because she dies, turns into snowflakes, and is resurrected as the fifth element. The movie tells me this is the same Elsa we know and love but, well, we'll never know.
For Elsa's parents--they might find out Elsa's the fifth element, but probably not as the guardian horsey isn't going to let them get that close. The other part about shafting the natives that Anna and Elsa found out as the story progressed, well, they probably already have some idea/I can't imagine either of them are naive enough to really believe it was all a terrible tragedy given what happened.
And ultimately, the problem Elsa was having wasn't something that could be solved by the Ahtohallan trip in and of itself. Elsa had to learn not to fear herself, which up until this point everything her parents had done to try and help her had only made things worse.
Which means no matter what they find out, we're right back where we started at Frozen 1. Anna and Elsa have a strained and distant relationship that Anna is extremely frustrated about, but their parents are young and Elsa is highly unlikely to be coronated anytime soon. As a result, the gates are still not open for coronation day and there's no impetus to change (in fact, there might be less, as Elsa's parents are going "fuuuuuuuuuuck" upon coming back and not having an answer to Elsa's problems).
Where things get... interesting... is down the line.
Now, the couple has two daughters. On the one hand, Elsa has been preparing to be queen her entire life, she has sacrificed so much to do so. She's very intelligent, pragmatic, and capable of being queen. But, her powers are out of control with no solution in sight. Sooner or later, she's going to slip, and they can't lock up the fucking country forever.
However, the second daughter, has not been trained for being queen at all and is... Anna. I'm sure her parents love her, they seem to from what we see of them, but Anna, especially as of Frozen 1, does not walk around with the comportment of a queen. Anna's a charming but clumsy goof who is also, at that point in time, swayed by romance and fantasy. Anna wants an adventure, a grand romance, that she might get as a princess who could be married off to a foreign kingdom.... but not as a crown princess/heir apparent.
Not to mention Anna has given 0 indications she wants to be queen, at all, and Elsa really really really does want to live up to expectations.
THOSE POWERS THOUGH.
I imagine there's much debate of "do we send Elsa up north to the wilderness where she can make as many snow things as she likes and cover it up somehow? or do we keep her here and hope for the best despite it just getting worse :/"
And Anna, I imagine, is losing her patience. She's getting close to marrying age, she can get out of this fucking kingdom. She wants to meet handsome princes and LEEEEAAAAAAAVEEEEEEE. This is bad because a) it means no backup for Elsa b) Anna you haven't even met these fucking princes.
But Anna also can't be shut up forever and she really should leave and get married, you know, eventually.
So one of a few things happen:
Under Immense Stress, Elsa Causes Eternal Winter
Sooner or later, probably when some public appearance is mandated with no wiggle room, Elsa fucks up as she did in canon. Maybe Anna is insisting she's going to run off with Hot Prince Hans who is so Hot and Of the Souther Isles, but the way things were going--the pressure was unbearable, and she was near her breaking point.
At this point, we pretty much get Frozen as Anna (probably the catalyst) goes after her sister to find out "what the fuck?!" and is also going after her sister to prove a point to her parents "WHO LIED?! THIS WHOLE TIME?!"
Hans may or may not be involved, but if he is, then he has a lot more royalty to go through this time so is probably not scheming to murder absolutely everyone and "I AM SUDDENLY KING!"
Not quite the same situation as when the king and queen were recently dead, the country in a panic over whether Elsa could handle it, then Elsa's suddenly a fucking witch and oooooof Anna's queen... and she just ran off to the mountains...
Anna of the Souther Isles
Anna gets set up with a match just as she wants and ships off to somewhere warm without any fear of being shut out. Problem is, Anna has no idea who these people are or what she's getting into and it will likely be a fucking mess. Except she's also married to a man she doesn't really know and there's now no easy way out.

Elsa's coronation day. (AU Helsa)
Tumblr media
The ballroom of Arendelle’s palace gleamed with an almost ethereal glow, as if the very flashes of light had been enchanted by the magic of the place. The chandeliers, adorned with flickering candles, cast a warm golden light that danced across the faces of the guests. Elsa, draped in her majestic velvet gown, stood before the royal throne, watching the scene with a mixture of curiosity and caution. The new crown on her head, along with the secret she guarded so fiercely, kept her distant, even on this night meant for celebration.
Anna, on the other hand, could not stop speaking with exuberant joy, and Elsa felt a faint warmth upon hearing her voice once more.
"Isn’t it wonderful, Elsa? The music, the people, the food... I heard the cake is filled with chocolate fondue! I can't wait to try it!"
The sisters shared a light laugh, and the sparkle in Anna's eyes made Elsa, despite a touch of melancholy, feel for a moment the lightness of the past.
"This is so nice, I wish it could be like this all of the time." Anna said, her enthusiasm evident.
Elsa barely nodded, letting a restrained smile escape as a slight disillusionment settled in her heart. She couldn't help it. The grandeur of the occasion, the crowd around her, seemed distant and foreign. Before she could respond, a soft, masculine voice interrupted their conversation.
“Greetings” said a figure who had approached with impeccable composure.
The sisters turned and found a young man of refined appearance. His red hair shimmered in the light, and his smile was the perfect blend of courtesy and distinction. He made a slight bow, as etiquette demanded, and introduced himself.
“Prince Hans of the Southern Isles. At your service. It is an honor to meet you both, Your Majesties.”
“Prince Hans,” Elsa replied, her tone formal but unable to conceal a softness in her voice. “Welcome to Arendelle. I hope you enjoy the evening.”
Hans, smiling politely but with something more in his eyes than mere courtesy, responded.
“The honor is mine. Allow me to congratulate you on your coronation. The ceremony was a masterpiece, and I must say, the beauty of this place is unmatched... except, of course, for that of its hostess.”
Elsa, unaccustomed to such flattery, felt an unfamiliar blush creep up her face, something that did not go unnoticed by Anna, who observed with growing interest.
“Oh, thank you, Prince Hans,” Elsa replied, trying to regain her composure, although the softness in her tone revealed it wasn’t just politeness.
Anna, with her usual curiosity, couldn’t resist a mischievous smile seeing her sister so unusually affected. She decided to intervene with her usual enthusiasm.
“Oh, Elsa! Isn’t he charming? You should get to know him better,” she said, unable to hide her excitement. “Maybe you should dance with him. It would be wonderful, don’t you think?”
Elsa shot a quick glance at her sister, a mix of warning and pleading, while maintaining her exterior calm.
"Anna, I'm sure the prince has many others to talk to tonight," she replied, her voice firm but serene.
“Quite the opposite, Your Majesty,” Hans responded with a slight bow. “At this special occasion, it would be an honor if I could have your first dance as queen.”
Elsa hesitated, her mind wavering at the thought of a dance. The mere mention of it made her feel an increasing nervousness.
“Oh... I’m not sure, Prince Hans. I’m not much of a dancer,” she replied, her voice betraying a slight tremor. The idea of placing her cold hand in his made her feel even more uncomfortable.
Before she could continue, Anna, without saying a word, moved forward, and with a playful smile, gave her a gentle push.
“Come on, your Majesty!” she said, quickly removing the cape from her shoulders. “Just one dance. Everyone’s watching you, and this is your night, sister.”
Elsa, realizing she couldn’t refuse any longer, nodded in resignation. Anna gently pushed her toward the center of the hall, where Hans had already extended his hand with a reassuring smile. Elsa hesitated for what felt like an eternity, but finally accepted, letting her fingers brush against his, barely.
The music shifted to a slower tempo, and the guests, as if a tacit agreement had been made, moved aside to make space for the pair. Elsa felt every gaze on her like an unbearable weight.
Hans, aware of her nervousness, inclined his head slightly toward her.
“Don’t worry, my queen. Just follow my lead. I promise I won’t let anything go wrong.”
Elsa, still nervous, looked up and found Hans’s green eyes, which seemed to try to calm her.
“I’m not used to this,” she murmured, barely audible.
“Neither am I, Your Majesty. This is my first time dancing with a queen,” Hans replied with a playful tone. “I’m terrified, but I think we’ll both do an excellent job pretending.”
Despite his efforts, Elsa couldn’t shake the feeling that time was dragging on. Each step felt like a challenge, while her mind wrestled with a torrent of thoughts. She could feel the pressure of the stares, of each guest analyzing her every movement.
Hans, on the other hand, guided her calmly, aware of the tiny tremors in her hands that barely showed. At one point, when the music reached a crescendo, Elsa stumbled slightly, and he, with quick reflexes, took advantage of the pause to lean in and whisper.
“Relax, my Queen.” he murmured softly.
“It’s not that simple,” Elsa replied, fixing her gaze on a point to avoid his eyes.
“People only want you to be a good ruler, not a perfect dancer. It’s your party, just enjoy.” Hans replied, a slight smile on his lips.
Elsa stopped for a second, surprised by his words. She looked at him, and something in the sincerity of his green eyes sparked a calm within her. For the first time that night, she let her guard down.
Hans smiled, but this time it wasn’t with the same calculated smile he used with others; this time it was something more genuine.
In that moment, Elsa allowed her shoulders to relax. The confidence with which Hans guided her, his steady presence in front of all eyes, gave her a moment of comfort, as if, for a brief sigh, she weren’t alone.
But then, she felt the cold: the slight chill in her fingers, the tingling that heralded the inevitable. The proximity of Hans, the warmth of his hand over hers, contrasted with the cold that began to emanate from her skin.
Conceal, don’t feel. Conceal, don’t feel.
Elsa tensed, her breathing quickened, and fear once again seized her. Her hands began to shake, and anxiety overwhelmed her. If she stayed there, among all those eyes, dancing... If he noticed...
“Your Majesty,” Hans said, noticing the change in her. “Are you alright?”
“Excuse me,” Elsa said, her voice trembling. “I can’t continue. I need... I need to leave.”
Without waiting for a response, Elsa quickly turned and headed for the doors of the hall. Whispers began to spread among the guests, and Anna, watching from the side, stepped forward, confused.
Hans looked at her, concerned, but an inexplicable feeling made him stop. Something in the way Elsa had left indicated that what was happening was more than simple nervousness.
When the doors closed behind Elsa, a cold air seemed to surround her as she walked down the empty corridor. She pressed her back against the wall, closing her eyes, trying to calm her mind.
“Elsa!” Anna called, running after her. Elsa, without stopping, turned her back to her sister.
“Elsa, wait! What happened? Why did you leave like that?”
“You shouldn’t have done it, Anna,” Elsa murmured with a broken voice, but filled with a resolve she hadn’t found in a long time.
Anna frowned, hearing her, not fully understanding the gravity of the situation. "Done what? What are you talking about, Elsa?" she asked, taking a step closer.
Elsa finally turned, and her pale, tense face was a clear reflection of the internal struggle she was enduring. In her eyes shone a mix of anger and anguish. “You shouldn’t have pushed me to dance with him,” she exclaimed, the words coming out with a force that even surprised Elsa herself. “I didn’t want to.”
Anna, confused but feeling the weight of her sister’s words, crossed her arms defensively. "What’s wrong with dancing a little? He’s a prince, Elsa! And he seemed so interested in you. I just wanted you to enjoy yourself for once, to have fun."
Elsa let out a bitter laugh, one that resonated in the air with palpable desolation. “Have fun?” she replied, and the disillusionment in her voice was more than evident. “You don’t understand anything, Anna. I can’t afford to ‘have fun.’ I’m not like you. I can’t just... let go.”
"And why not?" Anna shot back, stepping closer, hoping to reach her sister’s heart. "You’re always so closed off, so distant. It’s a party in your honor, Elsa! How bad could it be to enjoy it a little? Everyone was watching you, and for a moment, you seemed happy!"
Elsa raised her voice, something she rarely did, and the tone of her reproach made Anna take a step back, surprised by the intensity of the moment. “That’s the problem!” she shouted, her voice full of anguish. "Everyone was watching. What if something went wrong? What if…?" She stopped abruptly, biting her lip and looking away, unable to continue.
Anna, her face now filled with concern, frowned. "What if what? What’s the worst that could happen, Elsa? That you’re not perfect? That someone realizes you’re human, like the rest of us?"
Elsa pressed her lips together, as if those words hurt more than she could bear. She fought to keep her emotions in check. Finally, her voice softened, though the sadness was clear. "You don’t understand, Anna."
"Then explain it to me! "Anna demanded, taking another step closer. " I’m your sister. I’m here, Elsa. I’ve always been, but you never let me in. Never."
"All of this was a mistake. I should never have agreed to this party, or to opening the doors" Elsa admitted, her voice breaking with the weight of the guilt that consumed her.
"A mistake!" Anna took a step back, horrified by Elsa’s words. Tears began to fall down her face, unstoppable. "Is that how you see it? This party is the best thing that’s happened to me in years. Are you going to shut us out again, forever? Elsa, please, I can’t live like this anymore!"
Elsa, unable to bear the pressure of all her emotions, shouted: "Then leave!" her chest rising and falling with the heaviness of a pain that wouldn’t go away.
Anna, her face soaked with tears, responded with equal intensity, feeling like the ground was falling away beneath her. "What did I ever do to you?" The question, full of anguish, hung in the air like a cry of desperation.
The noise of their argument quickly reached the ears of the other guests, and the doors to the ballroom opened slowly, revealing the curious gazes of the onlookers. Among them, Hans stepped forward, followed by a couple of guards, stopping a few paces from the sisters.
"Majesties?" Hans called in a cautious tone, his voice filled with a clear, yet contained concern.
Elsa turned toward him, panic in her eyes as she realized the attention she had drawn with her outburst. " Anna " she whispered, "it’s enough."
But Anna, completely immersed in her desperation, didn’t notice the onlookers. When Elsa turned to leave, Anna grabbed her hand but only managed to pull off her glove. "No, Elsa!" she replied, her voice trembling yet firm. "Why you shut me out? Why you shut the world out?! What are you so afraid of?!"
"I said ENOUGH!" Elsa yelled, raising her hands in a gesture of frustration. But as she did, a flash of ice shot from her fingers, piercing the hallway with a sharp, crystalline sound.
The air suddenly turned freezing, and the guests stepped back in shock, gasping in surprise as frost covered the walls. Icicles hung from the ceiling like newly formed daggers, a clear sign of Elsa’s uncontrollable power.
Elsa stared in horror at her hands, trembling with fear over what she had just unleashed. Her eyes, full of panic, searched for Anna, who stood frozen, her mouth agape, staring at the scene with a mix of fear and disbelief.
"Elsa…" Anna whispered.
Hans, who was just a few steps away from the sisters, stepped forward calmly, trying to address the situation. "Queen Elsa " he said softly, his gaze fixed on her, trying to offer reassurance. "Ple-please, calm down."
But she couldn’t hear him. Her breathing became erratic, and her mind could only focus on one thought: this shouldn’t have happened. Not now. Not here. She looked at the crowd, their eyes filled with fear and shock, and as she saw them all, the frost beneath her feet cracked, spreading slowly like a shadow of ice. She wrapped her hands around her chest, shielding those she had affected, and in a burst of emotion, she fled the scene, running through the hallways with frantic speed.
