Honor of Kings Disney's Frozen

Yes and this is bolstered even more by the fact that her story feels like a metaphor for being (alloplatinic and familial) arospec.

Hiding her true self, being viewed as cold and indifferent when she does reveal it, eventually finding comfort and solace in her family and found family.

Which makes trying to force a love interest on her all the worse. I really liked how in Frozen 2 they kinda solidified the fact that she’s complete without a relationship. (There’s even a flashback at the beginning of that movie where Elsa and Anna are playing with dolls and Elsa says“ewww, kissing won’t save the forest Anna.”)

(I also do acknowledge that many sapphic people relate to Elsa, but that’s not what I’m talking about here. Wanting Elsa in a romantic relationship because you relate to her is very different from wanting her in a relationship because you think everyone “needs” one or she “deserves” it to complete her story.)

I sometimes relate to Elsa in a meta way.

Specifically, how people all over the internet put pressure on her to be in a romance. The only people that seem to be happy with her being single are those on the Aro/Ace Spectrums.

It is a real widespread Amatonormativity, how a large percentage of the fanbase seem to project their ideals of romance on her, and insist she isn't "complete" without a love interest, and they are unable to be able to comprehend that someone can be happy without a romance. No matter how happy she seems to be with platonic loved ones.

Similarly, I feel pressured by people everywhere to be in a romance just because the people pressuring me are all alloromantic in some capacity and can't comprehend a lack of interest in romance.

I was able to go see Frozen (the musical) last night, and in the musical they add a song for Elsa to sing while in her ice castle. In that song she debates the morality of her actions, and what her next step should be. That song? Is called Monster. And the entire time I was watching it- I was just imagine if Odysseus and Elsa suddenly switched places-

(Also worth noting Elsa in this song resolves not to be the monster. Which- is very different from Odysseus’ monster-)
