COMO FOI 2024?

2024, de longe, foi o ano em que mais aprendi a editar — graças ao @chaos4squad e ao @vanguardpjct! As meninas me incentivaram e me ajudaram muito, não teria feito metade dessas belezinhas sem elas! Amo vcs <3

Meu processo criativo evoluiu muito e busquei mais ferramentas, já que, infelizmente, eu ainda não tive tempo e paciência para editar pelo PS. Futuramente, pretendo me dedicar a isso, mas por enquanto sigo firme fazendo todas as minhas capas pelo Canva.

Minhas grandes inspirações do ano foram a @anaharae-s, @cham-stuff, @moonwos! Ver as edições de vcs é o mesmo que me dar um presentão de Natal ✨ Para 2025, espero poder aprender mais e conhecer outros capistas maravilhosos 🙏

Além dessas 12, também queria deixar 3 capas que foram as minhas favoritas entre TODAS que fiz ao longo do ano.

12 meses x 12 capas

Retrospectiva das melhores capas desse ano, confesso que esse ano foi bem difícil escolher apenas 12 capas, novamente, afinal o que se esperar de uma capista indecisa!

Adoro fazer esse POST justamente por conseguir olhar com calma cada uma das capas feitas ao longo desse ano de 2024. Cada uma das capas escolhidas me fizeram sentir de uma maneira diferente enquanto editava e isso que me deixou toda boba, já que algumas são meus xodós.

Olha a novidade: Esse ano não tivemos apenas capa de anime entre os top 12!

Até me surpreendi com a escolha de novembro, mas sinceramente, essa edição ficou marcada. E assim como o ano passado percebi que me arrisquei mais em vários estilos, aprendi ainda mais com o PS e as dicas que fui pegando com outras capistas ao longo do ano!

Esse ano posso dizer que realizei alguns sonhos como capista, principalmente quanto a entrar em um blog (DesireDesign) e participar de um projeto que considerava as edições maravilhosas, mas que não tinha coragem de me inscrever (imaginesland).

A criação do @chaos4squad — Amo vocês! — e da conta @anaharaeicons onde pouco a pouco tô aprendendo a fazer os icons.

É isso que venha 2025 com capas lindas e que possa ser um aprendizado ainda melhor! Espero que esse post inspire outros designers a compartilharem o seu progresso e/ou trabalhos aqui no Tumblr.

In Stuck in the Middle with You, when Mary tells Ketch "I almost lost ONE OF MY BOYS"? and she means Cas??

There is a Reservoir Dogs episode???? Plz elaborate.

Season 12, Episode 12: Stuck in the Middle (With You) is a pretty straightforward homage to Reservoir Dogs, and also just Tarantino films in general. I'll admit I'm not a huge Tarantino buff myself so I might have missed anything subtler, but the references aren't much of a deep cut. A quote, some cinematic scene echoes - diner scene, badass group walk scene, Mr. Orange gut wound plot - and the whole thing gets framed as Mary telling Ketch a story through timestamped flashbacks.

For the most part it seems like a homage episode where they are having fun with it? Honor the iconic filmmaker and get your audience to go "heyyyyy" about how that's just like this iconic scene, but not doing anything particularly juicy with it.

Except.

Well.

Ok, so the episode was written by Davy Perez (of Tombstone fame) and directed by Richard Speight Jr. (of Destiel confession scene infamy). And at the very least Speight needs to defend himself before the court for this one, because at minimum directorial crimes were committed. That bit I mentioned above about the Mr. Orange gut wound plot? Well here's the thing:

I'm assuming you know this, but the whole Mr. Orange bleeding out from a gut wound while Mr. White homoerotically cradles him is kind of a big deal. Even crucial to the reference, you might say. Like the whole "you can be as intimate and emotional as you want with your warrior's-bond good buddy as long as he's tragically dying on the battlefield" is the whole fucking point. And yet... when they make the central plot of the whole episode stabbing good buddy Cas in the gut with a slow, painful, angel-killing spear they run into a snag.

Because this is Supernatural, and Cas is not going to die at the end of the episode to wipe the slate clean of gay vibes, and also doing things like homoerotic references with Cas in S12 just draws attention to how much homoerotic shit is already there. So they cast Dean as Mr. White and then absolutely break the parallel and upend the reference in order to no-homo the homoerotic gut wound arc.

Dean barely touches him. His emotions are subdued. They put Mary in the backseat to cradle him while Dean drives. And then right as he's actively "dying" Cas looks at Dean and the camera closeups on Dean and we get an "I love you" - pointed beat, remember there are more people in the room - "I love all of you". And instead of cradling him or even just sitting next to him Dean is standing across the room with minimal reaction.

They no-homo'd this so hard that it's almost impossible not to see Destiel in the negative space. Like by choosing to make a Reservoir Dogs reference and then immediately backing away from the reference in a panic, they a) look like cowards, and b) raise the question of why Cas and Dean can't do Mr. Orange and Mr. White. Go on, viewer. Imagine what that would look like if Dean cradled Cas and held his bleeding guts in and wiped the sweat off his face while panic muttering "You're gonna be fine".

Oh.

Hi! So i FINALLY got around 2 addin another paintin 2 my Emotions series. Paintin #7, " Disgust " i wanted a bit of a darker, grosser lookin green. But in the darker/thicker areas its the perfect color. 🤷🏻‍♀️ But thats just me b-n x-tra about it & im actually very happy w/ how this turned out & i cant wait 2 hang it w/ the others. Im also lookin 4ward 2 makin the last 2, if i could just remember wut emotions i was gonna do 4 those.😅😂🤷🏻‍♀️ Ahe well, ill remember sooner or l8er. Anyways i hope u like it, & ill catch ya next time! ☺️👋🏻

Cas should have been shirtless in 12x12 while he was dying and making his tearful deathbed goodbye speech, and I will die on that hill. I’m just remembering the behind the scenes photo of that ep where misha’s shirtless. I mean, the make up department even put the Enochian tattoo on him and we didn’t even get to see it. It would have added to the vulnerability of the scene, because Cas is putting himself out there and saying “I love you,” for the first time in his existence. He’s emotionally naked; would have been cool to have a visual representation of that.

Anyway, if Jeremy Carver had been around at that point he would have had Cas take his shirt off.

the way stuck in the middle with you starts with a stranger woman flirting with cas who is not interested and ends with cas desperately telling dean he loves him. the way cas doesn't want someone else but thinks he can't have dean. yeh they really went off with that episode title he sure is stuck in the middle with you dean bc he wouldn't want to be anywhere else he'll take your friendship and the family status over nothing of course he will
