Misguided Emotions
Eddie Munson x Neurodivergent!Reader
Warning: Anxiety, emotions (always need a warning for that), slight emotional meltdown? kind of? description of sensory issues.
Word count: 1188
Summary: A new fixation leads to a misunderstanding between you and Eddie.
*I return from the dead to drop this in your laps and leave ✌️*
Eddie hadn’t meant to get angry. Meant even less to let his frustration reach the surface and ooze on to your tender excitement.
You had seen the perfect stuffy while shopping with Robin and Nancy. It was soft to the touch, with long floppy ears that you swore were made of pure silk and a squishy tummy that was brilliantly embroidered with the words “be mine”.
It truly had been love at first sight.
“I wish you had been there Teddie! It was so perfect!”
Through the haze of your infatuation, you had asked Eddie if he would take you back to buy it, claiming that you didn’t have the money now but you would pay him back. To your sheer horror he had said no, a rare occurrence in the five-month relationship the two of you had.
Of course, you had fought him tooth and nail, desperate with need to bring such a beautiful thing into the sacred space of your room. This cycle continued for a while, asking for- in your mind- something so simple, yet being denied.
Finally, after many failed attempts to sway your attention to something else, you reached the precipice of Eddie’s seemingly endless patience.
“Jesus Christ, Fine!” Storming from the living room Eddie returned with said stuffy in hand, distaste clearly splayed on his usually kind features. “Here.” He tossed the victim of your hyper-fixation at you. “Was trying to surprise you… but if I have to hear you ask for it one more time, I’ll rip my hair out.”
His words sat like stone in your stomach.
You had ruined his surprise. You couldn’t just let it go, you had to pester him until he had no choice but to give you what you wanted.
Suddenly you were six years old again, begging your mother for a toy only to be reprimanded for asking at all. You felt like a child.
The chill of guilt seeped into your bones, while shame burned behind your eyes. You always did this, took things far beyond the threshold of other people’s tolerance, so fixated that you were often blinded by their motives. Regret set in quickly, tensing your muscles and making your skin feel odd and too tight.
“I’m sorry Eddie.” You hadn’t been able to meet his eyes when the words had left you. Determined to stare at the empty space he had once occupied. A shuttered breath broke past your lips when a beat of silence passed.
“It’s fine Y/n. Just take it.” His irritated sigh is what shattered whatever had been sticking you together, a sob escaping from within you and catching the unwanted attention of your boyfriend. That sound alone had been enough to break Eddie’s heart but seeing your distressed stimming had him moving without much thought.
“Baby- It’s really okay, I promise I’m not mad.” He kneeled before you, hands rubbing the rough material of your jeans into your thighs, trying desperately to ground you.
“No thank you!” Your emotions became jumbled, thoughts disjointed as you tried to process the events that had happened. On instinct your hands covered your ears, body trying in vain to shut out any unnecessary sensory input. Tears flooded your cheeks as you watched Eddie’s face morph from worried to mortified. He could fix this. He had to fix this.
“Here baby, isn’t it pretty?” Attempting to soothe you, he lifted the object of your fixation to your line of sight. You felt bile rise in your throat at the gesture.
“NO THANK YOU! NO THANK YOU! NO THANK YOU!” You continued this mantra all the way to his room, where you closed and locked the door before Eddie could follow. As you paced the tattered rug your mind wandered back to stuffy you had left behind. Something that had once made you excited and joyful was now tainted with humiliation and dread. You knew you wouldn’t be able to look at it without remembering this moment, but the thought of returning it made you feel even worse. What if no one else bought it? Would it think you hadn’t loved it? Your spiraling was broken by a light knock on the door, Eddie’s voice penetrating the wooden obstacle.
“Sweet thing, I’m sorry, please just let me in?” Ignoring him, you continued to pace while rubbing the worn, pilled fabric of your well-loved hoodie between your thumb and forefinger. The continuous motion soothing you somewhat.
An hour passed before you opened the door in a moment of clarity and retreated to the comfort of Eddie’s bed. Cocooning yourself in the fluffiest blankets you stowed away and waiting for Eddie to come in. Although you had desensitized yourself to the situation, you still bared ill feelings towards your behavior. So, you hid the best you could without shutting Eddie out completely.
“Baby?” It was meek, almost whispered.
“Hmm?”
“Is it okay if I come in?” His uncertainty stung, but not enough to give more than a one-word reply.
“Yeah.” You heard more than felt the bed springs as they shifted under the added weight.
“Is it okay if I touch you?” No.
“Yes.” You let the quiet envelope the two of you while Eddie rhythmically rubbed your blanket covered side. “I didn’t mean to behave badly. I’m sorry.” Eddie felt his throat tighten at your confession. You hadn’t behaved badly. You were just excited and maybe a little manic but he’d take those over this.
“You didn’t do anything wrong Y/n/n. I shouldn’t have gotten upset, definitely shouldn’t have taken my frustration out on you.”
“I would have been mad too.” If the roles had been reversed you would have been, you know that. Yet here he is consoling you, though you were in the wrong.
Maybe you were both a little wrong.
Lifting the corner of your makeshift fortress, you glance at Eddie. To your surprise he’s already looking at you, eyes filled with regret and smile forlorn.
“I should have realized-” Your sentence is cut short by rough knuckles tracing the line of your jaw.
“Hey. This isn’t all on you, I could have made my intentions clearer, doesn’t matter now though, can’t change what happened but we can both do better next time yeah?” You nod, turning your head to connect your lips with his warm skin.
“I’m sorry.” The words still feel like an important step towards bridging the gap between anger and forgiveness, though Eddie hadn’t made them feel necessary.
“Me too… you forgive me?” You can’t fight the giggle that escapes.
“f’course, do you forgive me?” He looks offended, almost appalled that you would even ask.
“How could I not? Sweet thing like you? You got me wrapped around your finger.” The cheeky lightness that carries with his statement settles the left-over anxiety in your system. You knew the conversation wasn’t over, things would need to be talked through, solutions would need to be put in place, but for now? You were more than content to watch as your favorite boy picked up that perfect stuffy and decorated your face with delicate beaded nosed kisses.

Dumb Heroes
Eddie Munson x Plus Size reader
Warning(s) : ST4 Spoilers, Swearing, Injuries
Word Count : 4000+ (I’m SOO PROUD of myself!!)
Summary : Fixing what Suffer sisters did!
You were in the Upside Down with the rest of the group trying to get to your world.
“Go, Dustin! Go!” You shouted, holding onto the bottom of the rope, just like you were holding onto the tiniest bit of calmness you had left to try not go into a full-blown panic attack.
Dustin landed into the regular world and moved out of the way. You climbed the sheets rope to your world, landing on the bed, and practically jumped up.
“Eddie?” You asked him as he let go of the rope.
“What are you doing? Please don’t try to be a hero! I need you to be alive after all this!” You screamed up at him, your heart started beating even faster than it was if that was even possible.
“I can’t run away anymore! I have to do this!” He shouted, cutting the rope.
“No!” You screamed, tears pricking your eyes, and your body shook with so many emotions. He grabbed his spear and protector and then ran out of the house.
“We can’t let him do this!” You said.
“We can’t!” Dustin agreed.
“But how-“ You started to question, looking around the room and seeing the chair.
You grabbed the chair, positioned it right under the portal, and you backed up.
“Fuck it!” You screamed then ran, jumping on the chair and jumping up to the portal adrenaline pulsing through you. You caught onto the other side of it, lifting yourself through it, and fell roughly onto the ground, you screeched out in pain your ankle had twisted under you when you fell, and pain rushed through you.
“I’m coming with you!” Dustin shouted to you from above.
“Wait-“ you started to shout when he started to jump, you quickly crawled away from where you were laying.
Dustin jumped through landing right where you were a moment ago, he gasped out he had landed on his leg wrong too.
“Great! We both hurt our legs!” You said sarcastically,
You grabbed onto the stool pushing yourself up from the floor, you limped over toward your spear to hold yourself up with and to protect your friends.
You offered your hand out to Dustin to help him up, and he stood up with your help and grabbed his spear.
You both limped to the door.
“Let’s go protect our Eddie!” You said, looking beside you at Dustin then opened the door to Eddie’s Upside Down house.
You both ran out of the house, you stopped in your tracks seeing hundreds of those wretched bats around Eddie who was trying to fight them, you sobbed covering your mouth tears start dripping down your face, you couldn’t lose him you couldn’t.. he’s your other half, the one always by your side through the highest highs and lowest lows, the one who you watched cheesy horror movies with.
Your mind raced fast as lightning, you had to help him but how? Suddenly you remembered the old New Years fireworks his uncle saved for just in case
~
November of last year
You and Eddie were going through his storage to find the Christmas decorations.
“What are those?” You asked Eddie.
“Oh, Just some fireworks my uncle saved.”
“Why?” You said, smiling.
“I don’t know, He just said wanted to save them just in case!” Eddie said.
“Just in case?” You asked, lifting your eyebrow in questioning.
“Yeah, I guess to save just in case he needed them on some random Thursday!” Eddie said, laughing.
You laughed.
For some random Thursday.
~
“Dustin, do you have a lighter?” You asked,
“Yeah!“ Dustin said.
“I have a plan but we need to hurry!” You said,
You and Dustin ran towards the little shed on the side of his house, opening the door a bat flew out, flying at you, you both swung at it with the spears stabbing it into the ground.
“I hate those things.” You said, grabbing the fireworks and opening up its package, setting it on the ground, and held the wicker up.
“Let’s do this!” You said, holding your hand towards Dustin for the lighter, he handed to you. You flicked it open, the flame flicking, and you held it to the wicker.
You both ran back towards Eddie as the loud thundering of the fireworks went off, the surroundings lit up with colors catching the attention of Demobats, they flapped through the air towards it.
You both ran as fast as you could towards Eddie who was now laying on the ground covered in blood.
“Eddie!” You and Dustin screamed, limping towards him.
You practically threw yourself on the ground sitting down, pulling Eddie onto your lap.
“Oh god, Eddie!” Dustin said, sitting on the other side of Eddie.
“No, no, no, no, no!” You said, panicking looking at his wounds, tears rolling down your face fast as a rushing waterfall.
“That bad, uh?” Eddie asked, choking.
“No, you’re gonna be fine!” You and Dustin said in unison.
“I didn’t run away this time, right?” Eddie said,
“No. No. No. No.” Dustin Sobbed
“You didn’t run!” Dustin said, crying.
You nodded, crying.
“You didn’t! You did so good!”
“You’re gonna have to watch over those little sheep for me, okay?” Eddie asked Dustin.
Your eyes went wide realizing he was trying to make a last affect.
“No! You're gonna do that! You have to!”
“You’re gonna shoot a bird at the school at graduation for me, right?” Eddie asked you, weakly smiling.
“No, no! I can’t do that without you, I can't graduate without you, I can't live without you, I won’t!” You sobbed, choking on your tears.
“You have to!” He said, weakly lifting his hand and touching your cheek, you sobbed.
You suddenly remembered the time you saved a butterfly, other things like that and like when you healed Eddie’s cut on his leg when he fell trying to stake, with your magic? Powers? Whatever it was didn’t matter, all that mattered was to save Eddie.
~
The day you showed him your powers.
“You’re bleeding!” You said, panicking, wanting to help him.
“Oh, It’s fine! It’s just a small cut!” Eddie said, softly smiling.
“Can I do something?” You asked.
“Yeah?” He said, lifting his eyebrow in a questioning way, You grabbed his hand gently, focusing all your feelings and emotions into healing him. Suddenly the cut was healed completely, you let go of his hand, and Eddie gasped in shock.
“Are you scared of me?” You asked scared.
“What? No! You’re amazing, a hero! like a DnD character!” He said, throwing himself on you, hugging you.
~
Although you had practically fainted after healing just Eddie’s small cut, you have to try to save him, you have to do it.
You grabbed his hand, putting all your feelings into healing him.
“Y/Y/N, y-you can’t! Y-you’ll get h-hurt!” He said, realizing what you were trying to do.
“I don’t care!” You said, blood starting to drip out of your nose.
A few minutes passed which was thousands more of your power than you had ever used or could use.
“Please work!” You whispered, starting to feel super faint, you tried to fight it but your vision went blurry and you fell backwards unconscious.
“Y/N!” Eddie weakly screamed.
~
“Y/N! Please wake up!” You heard someone say, shaking your shoulders.
You slowly opened your eyes seeing Dustin crouching beside you, you gasped jumping up into a sitting position, breathing hard.
“Is h-he alive? Is he okay?” You stuttered out, shaking with nerves.
“He’s alive! Faintly breathing but breathing! You saved him y/n/n!” Dustin said, pointing at Eddie who was being picked up by Steve, smiling as tears started flowing down his face again. He wrapped his arms around you.
“You saved our Eddie!” He said, sobbing as you hugged him back, you sobbed into his shoulder.
You both pulled apart from the hug.
“Let’s get out of here!” Robin said, softly smiling and holding out her hand to help you up.
Robin helped you up, putting your arm around her shoulder to hold you up and Nancy did the same with Dustin.
You all started walking to Eddie's Upside down house to get back to your world.
~
You, Nancy, Steve, Dustin, Steve, and Eddie finally arrived at the hospital with Eddie being wheeled away on a gurney.
“Just stay here until the cops come to take care of everything.” One of the nurses who stayed in the lobby said to your group waving her hands around.
You and the rest of the group heard one of the ladies at the front desk say something about Max.
“Wait, did you say Max Mayfield?” Nancy asked the lady.
“Yes, she was brought here an hour ago. Do you know her?”
“Yes, she’s my friend! What happened? Is she okay?” Nancy asked.
“She has a lot of injuries, and she’s in a coma now.”
Lady said when Lucas walked through the door his eye was completely swollen.
“Lucas!” The whole group said at the same time.
“She a-almost d-died!
“Where’s Eddie?” Lucas asked.
“Umm he got hurt! He’s been taken care of, but I don’t know!” You said.
Soon the cops arrived bombarding your group with accusations and questions.
“Wait! Please just let me tell you what actually happened with Chrissy and everything that happened!” You asked the cops, you probably looked disheveled, you could already feel your eyelids becoming big puffballs, and there was blood on your face from your nosebleed, plus your hands were covered in Eddie’s blood. “Okay, fine!” One of the cops said.
~
“It wasn’t Eddie who killed all those people, it was… Jason! He killed Chrissy, Fred, name, and he tried to kill Max!” You said, blaming it on the person besides Henry who made everything so much worse. You looked down at your hands, tears glazing your eyes.
“Eddie was just at the wrong place at the wrong time I think. Also, I think Jason actually thought Eddie did it, not himself.” You said.
“How did Eddie get hurt?”
“H-he w-was trying to protect me, my friends, and the whole town when the… earthquake happened.” You stuttered, and tears started pouring down your face at the thought of what happened to Eddie and Max.
“Thank you for talking with us, a nurse will come to assist you in a moment with your leg.”
“Okay, a-and another thing he’s nothing like the town is saying he’s the sweetest most amazingest person, he’s a hero!” You said the cops could tell you were telling the truth.
~
“Hi, sweetie! I’m just gonna get an X-ray of your leg, okay?” The nurse Sarah, who looked like she was in her late 20s said.
“Hi, okay… umm is my friend Eddie doing alright?” You asked, anxiously messing with your hands.
“He’s doing good! They just got done with his stitches and he’s in a room now.” Sarah said.
“When will he wake up?“ You asked, softly.
“Probably not for a few hours or even days, he lost a lot of blood but he’ll be okay.” She said, softly smiling.
~
“All done! Do you wanna go to his room to visit him? I think some of your friends are there too!” Sarah said, finishing the bandage on your foot.
“Yes! O-of course!” You said as she grabbed a wheelchair and some crutches by a cabinet.
“Here I can push you in this, then you can use these.” She said, pushing the wheelchair in front of your chair and handed you the crutches. You stood up supporting yourself with the crutches then sat down in the wheelchair. She pushed you in your wheelchair out of the room you were in, to Eddie’s room.
She opened the door to Eddie’s room then she pushed your wheelchair into the room.
Where Eddie was asleep in his bed with IVs in his arm and a heart monitor on his finger and Dustin was in a chair beside Eddie’s bed.
“Hi Dusty!” You said softly, as Sarah pushed you to the chair beside Dustin’s, you stood up and sat in the chair and propped your crutches against your chair.
“Hey y/n/n!” Dustin said, softly smiling.
“Oh, here’s a wipe for the blood on your face and hands!” Sarah said, grabbing a wipe from her pocket and handing it to you.
“Oh, thank you!” You said, wiping off the blood on your skin.
“Twin!” You jokingly said to Dustin, lifting up your bandaged foot.
“Twin! Dustin said, lifting up his bandaged foot, repeating your actions.
Hours had passed Dustin fell into a deep ocean filled dreams, and you were on the edge of falling asleep your eyes slowly closed when you heard a soft strained voice say your name. You almost kept sleeping when you realized whose voice it was… it was Eddie’s.
Your eyes opened fast and wide seeing Eddie awake and his eyes open, your heart beating fast.
“Eddie!” You cried out, tears started flowing down your face from joy and pain from almost losing him.
You jumped up almost falling flat on the floor but you caught yourself by grabbing Eddie’s bed and then leached yourself onto him.
“Ow!” He reacted.
“I-i’m so sorry!” You said, pulling back from him.
“No! It’s okay, I’m just achy and sore.” Eddie said, slowly wrapping his arms around you and pulling you back to him even closer.
“I thought I lost you!” You said, slightly moving back to look at him.
“I thought I lost you too!” He said, slowly putting his hand on your cheek you leaned into his touch and he wiped your tears away.
“Those stupid fucking bats almost killed m- Eddie!” You said, almost slipping out to him ‘my Eddie’ and your feelings that you’ve had for him since you met on that foggy day.
~
The foggy day changed everything.
You stood at the school entrance staring out in the distance as thunder boomed through the sky, you shook with anxiousness from the thunder and storm and your teeth practically chattering like Scooby and Shaggy.
“Are you okay?” You heard someone say beside you.
You turned to look in their direction, and there stood the ever so popular Eddie Munson or as the other students called him a freak but you never thought of him as a freak, you had always wanted to be in his friend group but could never find the right words to say to them.
You opened and closed your mouth multiple times trying to get any words out, you had never been great at talking to people before you got to know them.
“Y-yeah, I’m alright.” You finally got out some words, faking a smile from nervousness.
“Are you sure?” He asked worriedly seeing that you were still shaking.
“Actually no, I hate thunder and storms and I don’t have a ride home today.” You admitted, rubbing your arm.
“Oh! I can give you a ride home. I’m Eddie by the way!” He said, giving you a comforting smile.
“That would be amazing! And I’m Y/N!” You said, softly smiling.
~
That foggy day changed everything.
“My dumb hero!” You said, smiling, and sat beside him on his bed.
“You’re my dumb hero too!” Eddie said, softly grinning, and pulled his hands back to his side.
“Hey!” You said, fake offended.
“It’s only offensive when I say it?” He said, laughing.
You smiled and bit your inner lip.
“Eddie umm… I have to get this out uhh… I like like you not just as a best friend, I can’t just keep hiding my feelings especially not after almost losing you and at least I think I was being secretive.” You confessed to him, you looked at the wall across from you both like it was the most amazingest thing ever.
A minute passed although it felt like days, he hadn’t responded, you slowly looked back at him, his mouth slightly agape.
“I like like you too!” He finally confessed, holding your hand
“Y-you do?” You asked, in shock.
“Yeah! I kinda thought I was being obvious!” Eddie said, smiling.
“Oh!” You said, smiling.
He softly put his hands on your cheeks again, you moved closer your lips touching his angelically soft lips, and you felt like your insides were melting.
A minute passed although it felt like a second, and you both pulled apart from the kiss.
“I fell asleep for a little bit and you woke up and you guys finally got together?” Dustin gasped out, in utter shock.
Dustin jumped up from his chair, holding Eddie’s bed to secure himself, he threw his arms around you and Eddie, squeezing you both, you and Eddie hugged him back.
~
You rested your head on Eddie’s shoulder.
“Are you okay?” Eddie asked,
“I’m fine… No, actually I’m not okay!” You said, lifting your head up.
“Are you hurt? Where?” He asked, worried.
“Not like physically, I’m fine physically, just some soreness and a little gaining my strength back for the past few hours. Plus a broken ankle and a little blood but I’m fine! I meant mentally, I almost lost you, I thought I did!” You said.
“I thought I lost you too and I’m okay now! Just little bites!” Eddie said, laughing a little bit.
“You were almost a vampire’s dinner!” You said, dramatically.
“Vampire?” Eddie questioned.
“Well, a bat! But for all we know it could’ve been a vampire!” You said. Eddie pretends to try and bite your neck.
“Stop it!” You said, laughing.
“My vampire!” You said, wiggling your eyebrows.
“My hero!“ He said, gently wrapping his arm around your waist.
“Can you hand my bag, Dusty?” You asked.
“Yeah!” Dustin said, handing you it.
“Thank you!” You said.
“I have something for you!” You said to Eddie, smiling.
“What?” He asked, his glowiness coming back to him.
You grabbed the stuff out of your bag.
”All this!” You said, holding out one of his Lord of The Rings books, walkman, and favorite cassettes.
He smiled bigger than a kid on Christmas morning, flapping his arms in excitement.
”How?” He said, his smile beaming from ear to ear.
“I snuck into your house after the cops investigated.” You said, as he grabbed the stuff from you and sat them on his table beside his bed.
“Thank you so much!” He said, wrapping his arms around you, hugging you.
“You’re welcome, my hot vampire nerd!” You said, hugging him back.
~
Steve and Robin walked into Eddie’s room
“Hey!” Robin and Steve said at the same time.
“Hey, guys!” You said, smiling softly.
“Hey!” Eddie softly said, smiling.
“I’m so glad you guys are alive and okay!” Robin and Steve said.
“Us too!” You and Eddie said at the same time, smiling at each other.
“Are you sure you don’t have rabies?” Robin asked Eddie.
“Robin!” Steve said, shaking his head, his hair flowing with his head movement.
“What? I’m just wondering!” Robin said, curiously.
“Do you?” You asked Eddie, looking at him.
“Seriously?” Eddie said, staring at you.
“I’m just wondering too! Who knows you might have rabies!” You said, Eddie rolled his eyes.
~
An hour had passed, and Robin and Steve left to check out the rest of the town and get some rest at their houses. And Dustin insisted on staying at the hospital with you two and the rest of the group. Dustin had fallen asleep in his chair a while ago and Your eyelids were getting heavier by the second, but too afraid to sleep because what if something happened with Eddie or Max who was having multiple surgeries?
“You should sleep now, and actually be under the covers.” Eddie said softly.
“But I-“ You started.
“I won’t disappear, and we can visit Max after her surgeries, okay?” He said basically reading your mind, he put his on your cheek, and you leaned into his touch.
“You just read my mind, don’t you? And okay!” You said, half joking, smiling softly.
“Maybe!” He said, smiling.
You slowly got under the blanket cozying up to Eddie.
“Goodnight!” You said, wrapping your arms around him.
“Goodnight, love!” He said, kissing your forehead.
~
You and Eddie walked into Max’s room, where Lucas was sitting beside her bed, reading to her, and Dustin sat beside him who had gotten up in the middle of the night to check on Lucas and Max.
“Hi, guys.” You and Eddie said softly.
“Hey!” Dustin said softly.
“H-hey guys.” Lucas said softly. Getting up from his chair walking towards you both, you and Eddie hugged him.
“Have there been any updates with Max since the surgeries?” You asked as you pulled away from the hug.
“No.” He said, softly
“She’ll be okay, she’s soo strong!” You said, softly smiling.
“You’re gonna be okay and gonna wake up!” You said to Max, holding her hand.
Tears started pouring down your face, like a giant rain cloud, as you walked to Eddie.
“She’s gonna be okay!” Eddie said, pulling you towards him, hugging you as you sobbed into his shoulder.
“Yeah! She is!” Dustin said, softly smiling.
“Yeah, Dusty Bunn!” You said, softly as you slowly pulled away from the hug with Eddie, wiping some of the leftover tears away with your hand.
Eddie softly wrapped his arm around you, rubbing circles on your back for comfort.
”Could I read her some Lord Of The Rings?” Eddie asked Lucas softly.
“Yeah of course! Plus maybe she’ll wake up sooner to yell at us for reading too many fantasy nerd books!” Lucas said, jokingly, You and Eddie laughed.
“Yeah!” Eddie said, smiling.
You and Eddie sat on the extra chairs on the other side of Max’s bed. Eddie opened the book and started reading his favorite book, you rested your head on his shoulder, hoping that Max will hear him.
~
Hours had passed, and you and Eddie returned to his room, laying on his bed.
“How are you feeling?”
“I’m okay, just sore and a little high from the medicine but not as high as I usually get from my drugs.” Eddie said, laughing.
“Shut up! We’re in a hospital and I just saved your ass from getting arrested already!” You said, laughing.
“Yeah, yeah!” He said half joking.
“And thank you y/n/n!” Eddie said, smiling.
“My pleasure, my love!” You said, lovingly stroking his face.
He put his hand on your cheek and softly kissed you, you ran your hand through his soft curls as the lovely feeling of love swirled through you.
You both pulled away bursting with smiles, flapping your hands in all the emotions.
“I also brought uno, do you wanna play?” You asked.“Of course!” He said, smiling.
You got up from the bed turning on the hospital’s radio to a station that you both loved, playing ‘Crazy Train’ (Ozzy). You sat across from Eddie on the bed, you both sat crisscrossed well, you sat half crisscrossed considering your whole broken ankle, playing Uno in a perfect ambiance besides the whole hospital part.
~
“Uno!” Eddie said, smirking.
“You won?” You asked, happy for him but surprised. You moved back to sitting beside him.
“Did you cheat?” You asked, lifting your eyebrow in a questioning way.
“No- yeah, yeah I did! You’re short so I can see all your cards.” Eddie said, laughing. You rolled your eyes, shaking your head, and laughed.
“You ass! You could’ve told me that!”
“But I wouldn’t have won! I never win board games with you.” Eddie said,
“True! I win all the time” You said, half joking, smiling.
“Okay, I get it!” Eddie said, half-jokingly, wrapping his arms around you, pulling you closer to him, you leaned on him, wrapping your arms around him.
“I love you, Eddie!” You said, for the first time in a full romantic way, looking at him.
’I was made for lovin' you’ (Kiss) started playing in the background.
“I love you too, y/n!” He said, looking at you and kissed you on the top of your head.
You both had fought for each other to be alive and well, in more ways than one, even if yourselves didn’t, being a hero, a dumb hero in your own words, you both had made it out alive, well, and in each other’s arms dating with the beautiful feeling of love.

Eddie Munson x Trans masc! Autistic!reader
TW: Transphobia , SH , abusive parents (I guess that's all , tell me if I missed anything!)
Sorry this one is short! I'll write more on the next<3
🖤❤️🖤❤️🖤❤️🖤❤️🖤❤️🖤❤️🖤❤️🖤❤️🖤❤️🖤
"Good morning D/N!!" My mother yelled as she pulled my curtains to the side , I groaned burying my face in my pillow , I hate when she does that. "...mom!...that name..!" I murmured sitting up "We already talked about it D/M , I'm not gonna call you Y/N , you're my daughter , I know what's the best for you" She growled walking away , closing the door with a terrible loud noise.
"𝑫𝒂𝒖𝒈𝒉𝒕𝒆𝒓" "𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒃𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒚𝒐𝒖" her words repeating over and over in my head while i put on my most masculine stuff , of course second-handed since that my mom wouldn't give me my stuff I had to find a way. I was a completely mess , i'd probably have gone insane if it wasn't-
"Y/N!!"
...Eddie , A loud honk along his voice , a wide smile grew across my face "Comin'!!" I ran , tripping over my feet to get to my boyfriend's van before my mother could say anything. "How's my rockstar goin'?" Eddie said ruffling my hair , he looked just like an angel , big chocolate brown eyes , dimples and barely noticeable freckles , just like a dream, "I...I am good!" I didn't want to make him worried , the last time he saw my scratch marks he looked so upset , I didn't want to see him like that again "Great! Because today we're gonna do only fun stuff" he said with excitement on his voice , kissing the top of my head , I loved to see him like that and couldn't help but to flap my hands "Oh sweetheart , you're so adorable sometimes" he kisses my cheek then started to drive off.
"So , the thing with your mom , it got any better?" I shook my head , looking down to my hands , holding them together , Eddie replaced with one of his own "Babe , I know that things haven't been good to you but hey, today is our day , just the big boys , no girls , no boring mom , no one to tell you how to feel" he smiled warmly at me "Eddie! The car!" I almost yelled "Sorry!'' he laughed softly "You're such a dork!" I chuckled tapping on his hand with my fingertips "And you love it" he leaned in close , planting a soft kiss on my lips.

So Much For You
Pairing: Eddie Munson x Reader
Resume: Eddie has been uncomfortable with the amount of PDA he would get from Y/N, and things go south when she gets extra needy out of nowhere.
Word Count: 1891
Warnings: angst, a bit of language, miscommunication, mean Eddie, SFW
A/N: English is not my first language and this is my first fic, so I would be thankful for constrictive critics. This was also published on Wattpad, so if you saw it there, it's probably me :) (@/makeitrhyme)
--------------------------------------------------------------
Eddie meet Y/N when she got in her first year of high school, he saw the quiet girl entering the cafeteria and proceeding to sit alone and couldn't have any of that. He was her first friend in Hawkins High and introduced her to all of his friends.
They got along great, and that made her happy, she was new in town and didn't really knew anyone. Through the years, she got a certain popularity after getting into the cheer squad, but that didn't change her relationship with the boys. Although now she knew a lot o people, she stuck to her first friends group. Later, her list of friends expanded to Steve, Robin, Jonathan and Nancy, after getting got up in the Upside Down mess in the summer she worked on Scoop's Ahoy.
Y/N pinned over Eddie since day one, but never made the move, she thought that he was intimidating with that blatant honesty of his. They only became a couple a few months after Y/N and her former girlfriend broke up.
Eddie didn't realize his feelings until he was burning with rage and jealousy seeing her being someone else's. When she and Layla broke up, he took some time to pic up her pieces like the good friend he was, but the minute he felt she could be open to love again, he tried his shoot.
And it did pay off. Now, they're we're just four months away from graduating together and have been in a relationship for six months.
Eddie wasn't really good at expressing or even understanding his own feelings, between the lack of love of his parents, and the cruel treatment he would get outside his trailer, there wasn't a way of understanding what affection means, how it shows itself, how to take it, and mostly, how to give it back.
Wayne was an amazing uncle, but he himself didn't have that much affection growing up and didn't know how to pass it to his nephew, this was a lesson he couldn't teach Eddie, even though he wanted it dearly.
Y/N was Hawkins resident sweetheart, everybody who knew her, loved her, and those who didn't, couldn't bring themselves to dislike her either. She was completely smitten with Eddie and did everything possible to make him as happy as she could.
Her love language is touch, she will get overwhelmed when someone she doesn't know do as much as brush her arms, but will absolutely have to be touching someone she loves anytime she could, even if it would be just touching thighs when sitting together.
Her ex always told her how tiring was to have Y/N all over her all the time, and how she was too much to deal with. So, when she fell for Eddie, she became very aware of how touchy she could be, and tried to hold that part of herself back.
Eddie, however, knew about her past relationship, and the insecurities her toxic ex have planted in her mind, most of them about the way she acts for being neurodivergent. He reassured her that he loved her for who she is, all of her, and said that she was free to be herself around him.
But now, he kinda regretted part of that. He didn't have a problem with the way she barely could maintain eye contact to save her life, or how exhausted she would be for anything after a whole day of masking the signs of her autism, or how they could never have a conversation when they were at his gigs or at parties because she couldn't handle to have any conversation with that much cacophony. But God, did he have a problem with the PDA.
The only thing he didn't know how to handle was the amount of attention she pours onto him. He feels overwhelmed, the lingering touches make his skin burn, and his mind gets foggy, leaving his thoughts a mess.
It bothers him, how he can't think straight when she's so near him, and the feeling that something is still missing leaves him restless. Eddie doesn't know how to suppress those feelings, or how to indulge to them, leaving him lost, and for so, distressed.
So when he sees her walking up to him in the hallway, a big smile on her face and arms open to hug him, he feels annoyed.
- Hi, babe - she says looking up.
- Hi, gorgeous - He replies, gently removing himself from the hug, missing the way her body deflates.
Y/N it's not oblivious about the way her boyfriend has been getting distant. The way he releases her hands way too fast when walking up to classes, or how he never saves her spot next to him in the cafeteria anymore.
They walk together in the direction of the parking lot, and she chooses to leave a small gap between them, to which Eddie leaves a small relieved sigh.
The couple had a movie night in his trailer scheduled for today, so they headed to the van, Y/N let out a sigh of her own when he doesn't open the door for her.
That night passed by uneventfully, Eddie cuddles her for the movie but that's it, the moment the movie is over, he's driving her back to her place with a small kiss on her lips.
----------------------------------------------------------
The day after, Y/N doesn't go to school, and that should have made Eddie worried, but deep down, he feels relieved. On the way home, he thinks about stopping by her house, check-up up on her, but decides against it, selfishly, wanting time for himself. I can call her when I get to the trailer, he thinks.
Except he forgets about it and just remembers when he sees her in the school the next day. She was upset, she didn't show up to school and it was like her boyfriend didn't even notice.
Y/N opted for not saying anything though, she didn't want to fight with Eddie, not feeling well enough for the stress that would come from it. So she just smiled and said it was okay when he lamed apologized.
-------------------------------------------------------------
After that day, Y/N seemed to want to be clinging to Eddie all of the time. They didn't have time to see each other on the weekends because she got some college stuff to look at that month, and all the other free time she had, she was spending in Eddie's neck, and he couldn't stand it anymore.
So, when they were together in his trailer in one of the many movie nights they were having later, it all comes crashing down.
It started when she brought up plans for the next weekend.
- So, I was thinking, the next weekend it's the only free one I'm going to have until graduation, so I planned a little time together for us, I found a really cool cabin we can go to for the weekend - she says looking at him from her spot on the couch, slightly close to him.
- More than we already do? And you didn't even ask me if I was free? Or if I wanted it? - he snaps at her, and she flinches, not expecting the outburst.
- Well, for the next few months I will have less time to be with you, I thought you would like to, don't know, do something romantic?
- In a fucking cabin!? Doing what?
- There's a lake, boats, it's more like a hotel, a bunch of cool stuff - she says pleading with her eyes, she didn't want to give up the weekend, even with his reaction. She had something important to tell him and planned the weekend to do it. She couldn't let it pass.
- Please, baby - she said getting on his lap - It will be fun, I promise.
Eddie get her out of his lap and started pacing around the room, all becoming too much.
- You can't do that!! Go around making plans without consulting me, taking all of my time! - She was petrified, and he was getting louder by the minute.
- You're always doing it, always on my neck, always on my house. Do you know how long have been since I was able to enjoy my fucking music in this trailer without you rambling around!? I feel like I'm not able to breathe with you around, always touching me! - He pauses for a minute, and she gets up from the couch, trying to get to him, but he walks away from her.
- I can't stand you all over me all the time, it's suffocating, I don't have time for myself. I don't do a fucking thing apart from being your fucking boyfriend, it's exhausting! - He screams, hands in his hair, red-faced and feeling confused, above it all, because he didn't know why he was saying half of those things.
She wanted to scream that this was bullshit, he has his deals, his gigs, his rehearsals with the band, the hellfire, but then she thought... she was in all of those. Of course, she didn't demand attention, but she was there. She thought that it was something that he appreciated, she was used to tagging along with him even when they were just friends. Hell, they have the same group of friends, nothing apart. And even though she knows that it's not her fault, they were in the same groups before they became a couple. She just couldn't help to feel like she was overstepping, becoming too much. He didn't like being my boyfriend anymore?
- Oh... - she says, quietly - I-I guess you're right... - she continues, a confused frown on her face that he wishes he could kiss until it disappears, but he remained in his place - I'm sorry, Eddie. I didn't do it on purpose, I didn't realize... - now the tears started to shine in her eyes, and Eddie´s heart squeezes. - What do you want to do? Do you wanna... break up?
At the sight of the tears streaming down her face, and the sound of her quiet voice asking if he wanted to break up, Eddie finally leaves his trance and walks up to her, holding her face in his hands.
- No, babe, that's not it, I swear to you - he says looking deeply into her eyes - I love you, I really do, it's just... - you don't like the way I love you, she completed in her mind - it's just too much, sometimes...
He regretted saying that the moment it leaves his mouth, but he can see the damage it's already done. He didn't bother to apologize, tho.
- We can work things out - she says cleaning her tears from her face, and stepping out of his hands. He feels his heart drop at the act but says nothing.
They spend the night working on how to go from there, how to take the relationship in a way they both can be comfortable, and they find it.
Eddie sleeps with her in his arms after he apologized for screaming, and feeling with weight less on his back because now things were going to be better.
They opted to cancel that weekend, and she convinces herself that he can be told the news when it becomes necessary. For now, she was going to enjoy being with him for as most as she could.

“Can you guys just trust me?” Jeff says, turning around to face the crew following him, walking backwards.
“No.” Gareth chimes in, “We had a perfectly good setup where we were.” He says defiantly.
“We were kicked out, dummy. It's irrelevant now.” Erica retorts, words dripping with sass, rolling her eyes.
“Just give it one game, and if you guys don't like it, we can keep looking, but I really think this place will be good for us… and it's free.” Jeff turns back around and leads the group to the glass paneled, metal framed door.
The members start bickering back and forth as Jeff opens the door, ringing a bell as it swings inward. As the crew files in, Eddie takes a second to look up at the tall, brick building, wedged between other businesses. Once inside, he’s met with rows upon rows of records and miscellaneous music merchandise. The ceilings are high, and there was what looked like a loft at the back of the building, curtains covering the window that faced the store floor. He tried to take in the sights, but the constant annoyance that was his sheeps’ bickering wouldn't allow him a single thought.
“Shut Up!” Eddie silences the crew, holding up a hand. All the boys quiet down and turn to him, Erica rolling her eyes and crossing her arms. Eddie's gaze meets Jeff. He holds up a finger with a raised brow, “One game.” Jeff nods in response.
“Welcome back!” A voice calls out from behind Jeff. The dark skinned boy turns to face the voice, moving out of the way for everyone to get a view of the person walking up to them. Their face holds a bright smile, their eyes connecting with Jeff before roaming to get a good look at the rest of the matching shirt group. “Is this everyone?” Jeff nods in response.
“Hey, Sunny. Yeah, this is us. Everyone, meet Sunshine. Sunshine, everyone.” Jeff gestures back and forth during the brief introduction. As Jeff begins to go down the list, pointing at everyone and saying their individual names, Eddie is staring at the stranger, now acquaintance, you.
You had the most uniquely beautiful face Eddie had ever laid eyes on, a beautiful skin complexion to match. Your hair was amazing, twisted upon itself in chunky, individual strands. You wore a dark blue, button down shirt with a red patch where a breast pocket would be and yellow loose fitting pants. Atop your twisted locks sat a dark pair of dark sunglasses. You radiated “cool” energy, Eddie’s type of cool.
“And this is our Dungeon Master, Eddie.” Jeff said finally, snapping Eddie out of his trance.
“Dungeon Master, huh?” You raised your brows with a teasing smirk, a playful look in your eyes.
Eddie's lips slowly broke out into a knowing grin, lifting one brow. “One and only.” He shrugs, getting an amused smile in return.
“Alright, well,” your eyes scan to each one in the group. "If you follow me,” you begin walking backwards, “I'll show you guys where to set up.” your eyes land back on Eddie, lingering before you turn to walk properly.
“Lead the way.” Eddie says, passing Jeff, following you closely through the isles. The group slowly trailed behind.
“This spot better be good. I don't think our dear leader is going to let us look anywhere else.” Gareth mumbles under his breath to Jeff, watching Eddie's back. Eddie whips his head around, shooting a glare at Gareth, startling the boy. Eddie's eyes dared Gareth to make another comment. As soon as they make eye contact, Gareth looks away, trying to avoid the piercing stare. As soon as Eddie turns his head back around and rounds a corner after their guide, the group, minus Gareth, snicker quietly at the predicament he's found himself in.
They all make their way around a corner and into a corridor at the back of the store. They turn left and are met with two doors. The door on the right wall leads to stairs heading up, the other one at the end of the hall leads to a stairway heading down.
Their guide opens the door ahead of them and flips a light switch, heading down the steps. You speak up once everyone gets to the bottom of the stairs. “Welcome to the Basement, Hellfire!” You stretch out your arms, turn a full circle and land to face them. “Or Dungeon, I guess.” You shrug, doing your arms to your sides with a smack. “I've already moved some stuff around to try and create a good gaming vibe,” You gesture to the table and chairs you preemptively set up in the middle of the room, “but you are more than welcome to rearrange the table and whatever to how you like. There are some drinks in the mini fridge over there. That door is a bathroom, but there's extra stalls up the stairs on the other side of the hall if needed. Store closes at 8, but no pressure or rush. I usually stay until about 9 making sure the shop is ready for the next day, but if you don't see me on the floor when you're done, just bang on the door at the top of the stairs on the left and I'll see you guys out.” You hold up two thumbs once you’re done, silently asking if they got everything. You were met with a few nods, ‘okay’s, and ‘thanks’.
“I think we got it. Thanks, again, for loaning us the space, Sunny.” Jeff speaks up.
“No problem, dude.” You begin walking towards the stairs to head back up. “Let me know if you guys need anything!” You then run up the stairs, closing the door behind you.
“Well, I must admit, it's not a bad space. Good find, man.” Gareth pats Jeff on the back before he and the rest of the group start setting up, excited for a fun evening. Eddie stands closer to the bottom of the stairs, watching his little sheep set up everything. His mind strays to the cute worker upstairs, but he's soon jolted out of his thoughts by Gareth, “Ready to roll, Ed!”
》》》
“I can't believe I died! Where were you?! What a great help you were.” Dustin yelled sarcastically at Mike, obviously upset.
“I'm sorry, man! I couldn't just leave Lord Ragnor behind!” The two of them bicker back and forth as they are the first ones out the basement. The group, loud and energized from the end of their session. The store lights have dimmed and the darkness of the night can be seen through the now gated store windows. The flickering street lamp out in the parking lot shone on a singular van.
“Anybody spot, sunshine?!” Jeff yells over the group. They all turn their heads, scanning the isles of records, before looking back to Jeff and shaking their heads no.
“I'll go knock.” Eddie volunteers, turning and running back to the hall they all just left. He uses the empty door frame to help him turn the corner. The group went back to bickering, going back to all their prior arguments. He knocks on the door three times. After not getting a response for a good 30 seconds, he tries again, knocking three more times. He looks through the small window at the top of the door but is only met with the image of a set of stairs. Another 30 seconds goes by and still nothing. Eddie tries the handle and finds it unlocked. He slowly opens the door. As soon as he's halfway through the door, he could hear the sound of music being played through a stereo. He clears his voice, “Hello? Uh, Sunshine?”
As soon as he spoke up, he could hear someone scrambling around at the top of the stairs. “Coming!” A voice responds. Eddie sees you stumble around the corner as if you almost tripped, before running down the stairs. “Sorry! Sorry.” You scramble, meeting Eddie at the bottom of the stairs. You take the door from Eddie, opening it wider. He moves over a little to make room for you to walk through.
“All good, I wasn't waiting long.” He lies, “Didn't mean to spook you.” He follows you out the hallway and to the main floor.
“No, no. You're fine! Sorry, I was a bit preoccupied in my own little world. I didn't hear you knock.” You apologize, glancing back at Eddie as you walked and talked. Before he could say anything else, you turn back to the crew who were waiting by the door. “Sorry to keep you all waiting! How was your game?” You address the group. The club parts like the red sea, freeing a path to the front door for their host and Eddie.
“It was okay until someone killed me!” Dustin yelled, aiming his words at Mike.
“It was good, very interesting, as always.” Eddie answers, a bit more calm than his angry counterpart.
“Well, that's good to hear.” You say over your shoulder to Eddie as you unlock the door. Once unlocked, you turn to look at Dustin, “Sorry to hear you parished.” You say with sad eyes and a dramatic pout, leaning against the door to prop it open. Eddie grins at the action.
Dustin is first to head out the door, “It's fine.” He grumbles. Each member follows him out in a line, thanking you. Before Eddie walks out, he stops and stands right in front of your leaning figure, “Thank you for hosting us, Lady Sunshine.” He says dramatically, bowing.
“Twas a pleasure, Master of Dungeons.” You reply, matching his energy. Eddie breaks out in a grin sharing your bright smile.
“Til we meet again, m'lady.”
“Same time next week?” You smile up at him, breaking character. Eddie nods, still holding his grin, walking out the door backwards, keeping eye contact with you until you close the door. He watches you lock the door as he walks backwards to his van, standing idly next to the driver’s door once he reaches it. You wave at him before disappearing to the back again, flicking the lights on the main floor completely off.
“Earth to Eddie!” Dustin yells, breaking Eddie out of his trance. He turns back to the van and unlocks the doors for everyone to start piling in. “Someone is a bit distracted.” Dustin teases, earning a glare. Edde is met with a chorus of ‘ooo’s and kissing noises when he turns back to the wheel, starting the ignition.
“Shut Up or I'm raising the difficulty of the next campaign!” He's met with immediate silence, smirking to himself as he switches gears and turns up the volume of his radio, driving off into the night.
After dropping everyone off at their respective destinations, Eddie proceeded to lock himself away in his room, thinking of you. You intrigued him beyond belief. He needed to know more about you. Yeah, Black Key Records was definitely going to be Hellfire's new base of operations. As long as that meant getting to see you more often.
》》》
It's been a full month since the club first started holding their campaigns in the basement of BKR. Though they usually meet up every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, today is the first Monday day the club will not be meeting since they finished their most recent campaign last Friday.
It was agreed upon that the club wasn't supposed to meet up today, yet Eddie still managed to find himself making his way to the record store, mid-day on a Monday, in search of his favorite record store employee.
His presence is announced with a chime of the bell above the door. “Welcome In!” A voice pipes up. It was a male coworker of yours, one Eddie had come to know as Marvin. The lanky, blonde pushes his circle glasses up his nose as he looks up from what he's doing at the front counter. “Oh, hey, man.” He greets once he realizes it's Eddie who's come in. “You're here early.”
“Yeah, no meeting today. I just wanted to stop by and actually take a look at the… massive inventory.” Eddie lies.
Marvin nods, “Sounds good. Let me know if you need anything. Metal is over in that corner.” He points, looking over his falling glasses, “I assume that's your poison.” He offers a playful, knowing smirk.
“What gave it away?” Eddie replies sarcastically with a confused look. “Sunny around?” He asks casually as he walks passed the guy behind the counter.
“Well, the strange, little creature has to be around here somewhere. Thing rarely ever leaves.” He lifts his head from his work, “MARCO!”
“POLO!”
“There.” He says and waves his hand in the general direction of where the muffled noise came from.
Eddie lifts a brow with an amused grin on his face and nods. “Got it.” He walks off in the general direction.
Eddie's eyes roam the maze of isles with rows and rows of records, tapes, posters, etc. He's in awe at the sheer mass of items. It's pretty chaotic yet somehow still seems well maintained and put together. The walls are covered with old wallpaper. The store was well lit and had a rich and comforting smell, yet it wasn't suffocating. Overall, you could tell the building was old yet really cared for.
As Eddie walked further into the store, he could hear the sound of humming. He walked through a beaded curtain that separated the main part of the store from a little listening booth. He found you humming to the tune that was loudly playing in your headphones. You wore your famous dark sunglasses over your eyes and a black, faded Dickies t-shirt that was about 4 sizes too big, the ends of the short sleeved shirt reaching your elbows. The baggy material was tucked into a pair of light wash jeans that fit you perfectly. Eddie would be lying if he said he didn’t take the opportunity to steal a glance at your butt.
You had one of the ear covers moved back to rest behind your ear as you listened to music through the other. The wire was connected to one of the many record players lined up back here. You were studying the back of the album’s cover as you listened. “Hey, pretty lady.” Eddie interrupts. Startled, you jump, ripping the headphones off your head and throwing them around your neck. Once you realize it's Eddie, you sigh heavily, closing your eyes and putting a hand over your heart.
“Oh my god!” He chuckles at your reaction and raises his hands in surrender, walking all the way through the noisy bead curtain.
“Sorry, cupcake. Scaring you wasn't my intention. I thought you would’ve heard me comin’.” He says with a smug grin, motioning to the still swinging beads behind him. You shake your head, regaining your composure.
“Jesus christ.” You sigh out, laughing away your mini heart attack. “Don’t sneak up on me like that!” You laugh, smacking his arm lightly. “What are you doing here? It’s still early, isn’t it?” You tilt your head like a curious puppy, melting Eddie’s heart with your cuteness. He looks at you like you’re the only thing in the world of value.
“No game today. Just wanted to stop by and see my favorite record store employee.” He says with a huge grin on his face as he holds eye contact. You squint at him behind your sunglasses, allowing a bright smile to adorn your face.
“Is that so?” You ask. He nods.
“Yeah, Marvin is a great guy, you know.” He responds sarcastically, closing in on you with a flirty smile. You lift your chin and raise your brows.
“Hmm, he must not be that great if you’re back here with me and not up there with him.” You shoot back. He stops once he’s one step away from you, so close you could smell him. He looks down at you with his signature grin. He’s close enough to just barely see your squinting eyes through the dark shades.
Over the past month, flirty interactions like this were considered a standard between you two but never had you been alone like this. This time you had no prying eyes, no teasing quips from the club to separate you two. “I didn’t say he was the one I came to see.”
“It was implied.” you come back without hesitation, playing his game. Eddie breaks eye contact with you to look down at the album cover in your hands. He takes it from you and flips it around, so he can read the front. You reach up to lift your sunglasses off your face to rest them at the top of your head.
“‘Bad Music For Bad People’, huh?” He raises a brow and looks up at you with his chin still tucked down, a small smirk lingering on his lips. Your face warms a bit at his teasing expression as you bite back a smile. You breathe in and sigh out.
“Yup, new arrival. The Cramps are a go-to band for my ‘Distorting Reality’ section.” The sentence rolls off so easily, so normal, but your words make Eddie tilt his head.
“‘Distorting Reality’.” He repeats. There's a slight pause, one long enough for you to remember what Gary tells you. Your way of thinking is not… normal. You start to internally spiral.
“Oh, uh. Yeah,” your mind is reeling for words to explain. “I, uh, I sort of have a way to organize bands and music in my head… in like… categories… beyond just genre, but also… like… vibe?” Your fluster makes Eddie's grin slowly widen. He finds it adorable. You look down at your feet. “Sorry… I sometimes forget that, you know, not everyone… that I'm a bit,” you bring your hands up and wave and wiggle them next to your head, “different…” Your face carries a small, nervous smile as your eyes go from eye contact to avoiding his eyes. He has a full on smile now, soft and a bit dazed.
“I like different.” He states matter-of-factly. Your eyes find their way back to his, and your small smile grows, shining brightly.
“Really?” You sigh happily, your heart pumping full of hope.
“Tell me more about these categories.” His smile is evident in his voice. The light in your eyes warms his stomach.
“Really?!” You ask excitedly, never have been asked to elaborate your thoughts, these thoughts. He nods. “O-Okay, so, think of them kind of like mixtapes.”
You went on for a good hour, not only explaining your idea of ‘playlists’ but also walking Eddie around the store to show him different albums that would match with what category. You have never been able to talk to anyone for as long as you talked to Eddie. You went on long tangents explaining how you couldn't understand how some people only listen to one genre or artist or how some artists or genres were completely underrated or misinterpreted just because of the masses’ biases.
Not only did he let you talk, he was actively listening. He would ask questions and build off ideas with you without making you feel like he was cutting you off or making fun of you. Even when he did have to cut you off, he knew how to do it gently, asking you his question or making his comment before letting you resume with what you were saying.
Eventually, your intense music discussion began to die down, for now. “I like listening to you talk about something so passionately.” Eddie smiles widely at you. Your brows shoot up, damn near off your forehead.
“I've never heard that before.” The look of complete shock brings a chuckle out of Eddie.
“Would you like to go out sometime?” You didn't think he could say anything more shocking than his previous sentence, but here you are. You blink rapidly at him a few times, but before Eddie could start to backpeddle, you spoke up.
“Uh, y-yeah. I- I'd love to.” The words fell out of your mouth with very little control, your brain on autopilot. Eddie's smile grows impossibly wider.
“Great. T-That's great. Uh, when are you free?” He asks.
“Everyday! All the time!” Marvin yells from his spot near the register. You both look over to find him eavesdropping up front. He looks over his glasses at you with a raised brow. Though he was a boy just barely a year older than you, he still had a way of acting and looking like a mother. His look one hundred percent screamed ‘please date my daughter, she's lonely.’
The mortified look of betrayal on your face made Eddie break out in a laugh. He nods, “Should I come back after close?”
“Take her now!”
“Marvin!” You whip your head toward your coworker, annoyed. He shrugs, hardly bothered, and goes back to whatever task he's ‘busy’ with. Eddie has to hold in his laugh, it sneaking out as a sharp exhale through his nose. The feeling of Eddie grabbing your hand breaks your glare. He begins pulling you toward the front door.
“Catch ya later, man!” Eddie says to the blonde boy without so much as a glance over his shoulder. You give Marvin a panicked look as you pass him, but all he does is wiggle his fingers in a mischievous wave as you're pulled out the door.
“You eat lunch yet?” Eddie asks as he opens the door of his van for you. You climb into the passenger's seat, again on autopilot.
“Uh, no. Not yet?” He closes the door and jogs over to the driver's side, climbing into his seat.
“Perfect. Let's go eat.” He grins over at you, buckling his seatbelt before leaning down to start up the ignition.
You two ended up at a diner not to far away, still within the same town center as the record store but a few lights away. “I can't believe you haven't eaten all day. it's almost 3PM.”
“I woke up too late for breakfast and got distracted with the new arrivals.” you'd counter as you arrived at the diner. The lunch outing was spent eating and going on more tangents. Though it started with music, it eventually led to your childhoods and other personal interests. “I was thinking about continuing school after I graduated, but the cons outweighed the pros. I mean I love learning, but the environment, the costs, the stress?” you wave your hand, “not worth it.”
The more you talked and went on about whatever came into conversation, the more Eddie realized how intelligent you are. “You're crazy smart, you know that?” He added when you finally paused to take another bite of your food. You let out a big huff through your nose, shaking your head.
“Not even. I just retain a shit ton of useless information.” You dismiss.
“You retain all this information and then form your own thoughts around it and have the ability to build upon said information. You’re like a book that thinks. It's awesome.” He praises. You can't help but blush. Man, does Eddie really know how to shut you up. After this, you continue to munch on your food in comfortable silence, smiling like dorks at each other every time you catch one another's eyes.
After your late lunch, it's about 4PM and the sun is already beginning to lower thanks to the season. “Would you like to go on an adventure with me?” Eddie asks you as you're walking through the parking lot of the diner and back to his van. You turn your head to look up at him with questioning but enthusiastic eyes.
“Mayybee?” You draw out in a playful but curious tone. He gives you a mischievous grin, staring silently as he opens the door for you to get into the van. You stand there a few seconds, squinting at him to try to intimidate him into telling his secrets but failing. You give up, climb into the van, and let yourself be driven to another undisclosed location.
Eddie drives about 15 minutes out, away from the city center and more into the outskirts of town. You turn to look at him, his eyes focused on the road. “Marvin knows you were the last person I was with and can identify you pretty well, you know.” You throw out there, getting a chuckle out him.
“I promise, I'm not taking you anywhere dangerous nor am I going to hurt you.” He glances over to you for reassurance before focusing back on the road.
Though the situation would be waving huge red flags under any other circumstance, you couldn't help but trust Eddie completely. You didn't even say the sentence actually believing he'd bring you any harm. You had a calm and comfortable feeling in your chest being around Eddie. Nothing could change that feeling about him now.
Another 5 minutes pass by and Eddie pulls off the road once you reach the true outskirts. The van rocks and shifts as it angrily drives over uneven terrain. Within seconds, the van comes to a stop, and Eddie turns off the engine. You try to get a good look through the windshield at your surroundings, but you only catch a glimpse of what looks like a clearing up ahead. “You promise you're not actually a slasher?” you ask nervously. Eddie hops out the van and turns to look at you.
“I guess you'll just have to come and find out.” He brings up his hands while wiggling his fingers at you in a ‘spooky’ way before chuckling and closing the door. Before he can reach your door, you've opened it to let yourself out. You hop down out of the van, squinting at Eddie as he now stands beside you. You close your door, and he takes your hand in his, leading you to the clearing just beyond the tree line ahead.
As soon as you exit the trees, you notice the clearing isn't just a clearing. It's a hidden viewpoint. You wouldn't be able to tell from the road, but you're atop a huge hill just outside of town. Just through the trees that lined the highway was a beautiful and perfect view. Never have you really thought of Hawkins, Indiana as a ‘beautiful’ sight by any means, but this view really put it in a different perspective. Eddie smiles down at you, taking in your 'in awe' reaction. His hand gives yours a light squeeze, causing you to look up at him with the same wide eyed wonder. It makes Eddie's heart feel like flying. He silently leads you a bit further away from the treeline and to a spot where you can sit.
You two sit next to each other, legs criss-crossed, knees knocking. The thought of sitting down on the mushy dirt and grass wasn't so pleasant at first, but you don't want to ruin the moment. As soon as you're sat, though, it's not bad. It's almost nostalgic, and makes you feel like a kid again. Unafraid, fearless, strong. You smile to yourself at how something so small and meaningless brought out such emotion. You stare back out at the view in front of you. “Everything seems so small from up here.” You say softly, entranced.
“Yeah, suddenly everything just feels better up here.” You nod in response. “Whenever I feel myself starting to get too far into my head, I come up here. Seeing this little town from here makes me realize. It reminds me that there's a bigger picture. Whatever's got me down, whatever hurt me, it's all so small now.” Eddie unwinds his legs to stretch them out in front of him, crossing one ankle over the other and leaning back on his hands. You stay crisscrossed, intertwining your hands in your lap.
“I don't want to sound any more crazy than I already have, but whenever I feel that way, I disappear into a little compartment in my head. One where I'm happy and at peace. I usually have to do that when I'm alone in my room with some music since I don't have a place like this.” You sigh with a small smile, letting the air around you embrace you in its tranquility.
“Well, now, you do. It can be our place from now on.” You turn to him with an innocent smile and wide eyes. You find him with his head leaned back and his eyes closed. He has a small, calm smile dancing across his lips. The setting sun was warm against his pale skin, but the chilly air contrasted with the golden hue, causing a bit of pink to spot on his cheeks and nose. He looks beautiful.
You wish you could take a picture of him right now, but as you feel yourself starting to stare for a bit too long, you tear your eyes away to look back out at the town. You scoot closer to Eddie and rest your head on his shoulder. “Thank you.” The feeling of your head on his shoulder causes him to open his eyes and tilt his head down to look at you. He finds himself strangely at a loss for words. He just smiles a bit wider and follows your gaze to look out on the city.
“Anytime, baby.”
You two sat there in another comfortable silence even after the sun fully set. When a breeze passed by and caused you to shiver at the cool night air, Eddie took that as a queue to go. “Though the view is still just as magical at night, I think it's time we head back. Don't want Marvin worrying now, do we.” He helped you up, and you both went back to the van.
Once you're back on the road, your mood shifts a bit, and you start to get a bit shy. Eddie can sense the shift and glances over at you a bit worried. He reaches over to grab your hands in his. You look over to him, and he throws you a quick smile before looking back at the road. “Are we calling this a date?” You ask as he gains speed on the paved road. Your voice was so small and nervous. Eddie had to fight off the urge to hug you so he could focus on driving. He shrugs.
“Did it go well?” He could see the little nod you gave in response out of the corner of his eye. “Okay,” he smiles, “Then a date it was.” You inhale sharply and try to contain your smile when looking at him but fail, looking away and out your window to let out a huge grin. Your mind runs wild, but you stop yourself from letting the silence go on too long by letting your mouth interrupt your head.
“Does this mean we can do it again?” You ask, hopeful. Eddie lets out a short, breathy laugh and nods.
“Yes. One hundred percent, yes.”
“I like spending time with you.” You let slide out while you have the confidence.
“I love spending time with you. Honestly, I don't think I've ever been able to connect with someone so quickly.” He lets out a sigh of a laugh. “It's like you get me without even trying.” You smile over to him and nod.
“I feel the exact same way.” You two sit in each other's confessions happily for a few seconds before Eddie speaks back up.
“Should I take you home or back to the record shop?” He asks. You let out a little laugh, making Eddie's heart feel light.
“Well, considering they're one in the same, yes.” You reply, looking out the windshield. This causes Eddie to steal a quick glance. His brows furrow, confused.
“You live there?”
“Yeah, the loft up top, the door I have you guys knock on when you're done with your games, that's where I stay.” Eddie lets out a silent ‘oh’, nodding his head as it clicks.
“Makes sense now as to why you always let us go on so late. Also explains why Marvin always says you never leave.” He chuckles. You blush, a bit embarrassed at the second half.
“Fucking Marvin.” You grumble under your breath, bringing another laugh out of Eddie.
“Sounds like a sweet gig, though. I won't lie. If I had a cool, laid back job and could live on property where I could just wake up and go, that's be awesome. I'd probably never leave either.” He says without an ounce of judgement.
“Yeah, well, ever since Gary offered it to me, life has been a whole lot easier. He looks out for me all the time.” Eddie nods.
“Well, if he's that good to you, I can't wait to meet him one day.” You blush, turning to hide your face, looking out the window.
“Yeah, he's awesome. He may not fully get me and my… differences, but he's always been super kind. Even fended off some bullies for me back in middle school.” Eddie's brows shot up, and he glances between you and the road a few times.
“Who the fuck would dare to hurt you?” He asks, shocked and a bit heated. You shake your head and let out a chuckle.
“Some asshole middle schoolers. Damn near all middle schoolers are assholes. I was an eager student who got perceived as a show off for raising my hand in class. I was also a loner cause I was ‘weird’.” You throw up air quotes with one hand, “Usually my rants and tangents and use of sunglasses both indoors and out to hide from bright lights aren't well received traits of mine. As an adult I've learned that not everyone wants to hear me theorize for hours about how dragons may have been real.” You let out a small laugh and shrug, “I was a little too different, and that created an easy target.” You sigh, melting back in your seat releasing the negativity. You smile back over to Eddie. “That's over now. She's had her ups and downs, but I'm in a good place now. I'll be damned if I let those dickheads continue to affect me.” Eddie smiles at this.
“I've always been the punching bag for bullies because of my differences, but I, too, got to my ‘fuck them all’ stage in life. Started punching back, and now I can't get enough of myself.” He shakes his locks around, dramatically flipping his hair. You laugh. God, does he love that sound.
Eddie pulls into the parking lot of the record store shortly after. The lights are all still on inside, contrasting to the dark evening. Marvin could be seen walking around inside. You look over to your intertwined hands then up to Eddie.
“Would you like to come inside?” you ask timidly. Eddie smiles and shrugs, nodding.
“Sure, I got time.” You smile at each other, exciting the van at the same time. Eddie opens the door and allows you to enter first.
“Sorry, I was gone for most the day.” You start before Marvin can say anything.
“No, no. Don't apologize.” Marvin dismisses, "Did you have a good time?” He asks, pushing up his glasses. You and Eddie share a smile.
“A great time.” You replied. “Do you need help with anything? I was gonna show Eddie upstairs.” Eddie looks a little taken aback but recovers quickly. He didn't realize you wanted to show him your place. Marvin waves a hand.
“Nah, Sun, you're good. I'll just be chillin’ down here until close.” You nod and wave Eddie to follow you as you start walking towards the back.
“Thanks, Marv. Let me know if you need anything!”
“Just don't be too loud! We are still during business hours, remember!” He shoots back as you round the corner.
“Marvin!” you yell back. His mischievous laughter could be heard echoing throughout the store. You lead Eddie to your door, the same one he's been knocking on for the past month. You open the door. “Welcome to my lair.” You say, leading him up the stairs.
When you reach the top of the stairs, Eddie is met with the sight of a full studio apartment. “Luckily, I had a cleaning day over the weekend, so it's not horrible.” You say with a laugh. Eddie nods.
“Wow.” He takes in the sight. It's basic, essentially four walls with exposed beams and framing at the ceiling, but you've made it your home. Some handmade, wood framing was used to separate the different ‘spaces’.
Your living space was the closest thing to the entrance, your bed on the right and a couch, table, and music station on the left. All your furniture looked to be hand-me-downs or thrifted. None of them were matching sets, but they combined to create a homey, comfy look.
The wooden framing was used to separate your living space from what looked like a bathtub on the right and a dining or kitchenette area on the left. Though it wasn't much, it was still leagues ahead of his own room at the back of he and Wayne's trailer, and it is yours. “It's nice.” He compliments. You shrug, looking around the space.
“It's probably not what you were expecting. It's no five star hotel, but it's all mine.” You smile proudly. Eddie nods.
“I wasn't expecting anything, but it's definitely you.” He smiles over at you. “And I mean that in the best possible way.” He walks further into the room, going over to take a seat on your little couch. Your cheeks warm, and you follow him to your ‘living room’. You walk over to your music.
“Anything you want to listen to?” You scan over your library of records and tapes. “You look over to him and squint, “Dio, perhaps?” you ask with a raised brow, referencing the back of his famous jean vest. He gives you a smirk.
“Though I'm never opposed to a little metal, how about you pick something?” You nod and continue scanning. The concentrated look on your face is utterly adorable to Eddie. He finds himself staring.
“Well, you've shown me your special place, so how about I show you one of mine. We can go with ‘Sunny's Mix Vol. 2’.” You offer, holding up a mixtape with black scribbles in your handwriting across the front. He offers a calm grin and a nod.
“I'm interested.” You smile at him in return and pop the tape into the stereo tucked under your record player. As soon as the fast paced drums of the first song starts coming through the speakers, you can't help but bop your head. You stand slowly, trying to contain the overwhelming urge to dance around. Eddie smiled widely over at you as you stare down at the stereo. He stands up and starts to dance to the music with a bit more energy than you. Your eyes find him as soon as you catch a glimpse of him standing in your peripheral. A big smile takes over your face, and you let the music start to take you over.
Eddie closes the distance between you two and grabs your hands, pulling you away from the stereo and towards the middle of your makeshift dance floor, the empty space between your ‘living room’ and bed. Your shared dance moves are less than graceful, more akin to weird jerking movements, but totally carefree and fun nonetheless.
Eddie has let loose completely and is dancing like a man possessed. The goofy moves cause you to laugh, Eddie succeeding in his unspoken goal to hear that sound again. You can only mimic his crazy movements, closing your eyes and dancing in circles. You two even shimmy back and forth with each other like the idiotic dorks you are.
The next song on the tape was spent dancing in a similar fashion. Then a few air guitars and imaginary microphones were added throughout the song following that one. Some of the songs on your mixtape were familiar to Eddie. Some songs were new, but all were going to be held near and dear to his heart from that moment on as they were all now known as yours.
When you get to the last few songs, they began to slow, allowing Eddie the perfect opportunity to close some distance between you both. He takes your hand in his and begins to slow dance with you, rocking side to side. His height makes him have to tilt his chin down to look at you while you're this close. The ends of his long waves tickle the sides of your face. The feeling makes your heart jump out of your chest.
Eddie didn't know the song currently playing, but he loved to hear you hum and sing along to it. “I don't mean to sound like a fool here, but I feel so much for you.” He speaks up during the last instrumental break in the song you were swaying to. You smile up at him.
“In what way?” You ask as the song faded into the next. He sighs, starting to get a bit red in the face.
Oh, thinkin’ about our younger years. The stereo rang out. ‘Heaven’. How fitting.
“In the way that I feel like this is how I want to spend the rest of my life.” His bold yet shy confession nearly floors you. Before you could muster a coherent sentence, he continues while he still has the courage. “I know this is only our first date, and, christ, I hope it's far from the last, but I feel like I have this unexplainable connection with you.” He looks up from your lips to pour into your eyes. “I don't want to scare you away by jumping to any conclusions here, but I've never had such a compelling feeling to tell someone how I feel.” His eye contact and his words make it hard for you to hold back tears. You're getting overwhelmed, his voice cutting straight to your heart. When Eddie sees the wetness forming in your eyes, he stops swaying, his own eyes widening. He looks like the sweetest puppy that just got caught getting into something he shouldn't have. “Uh, I'm sorry. That was a bit too forward wasn't it.” He starts to pull away, but you don't let him. You shake your head.
“No, no. I'm sorry. I just,” you let out a big sigh, trying to collect yourself. “Sorry, I just, I feel a lot and that's just, wow,” you let out a sigh, a small smile forming. “I feel the same, and I'm so happy you said something first.” you let out a small, airy laugh. “I don't think I'd be able to handle pining over you for ages, waiting for one of us to confess.” You roll your eyes and grin widely, a matching one finding Eddie's face as you spend a few seconds staring into each other's eyes. He lets out a chuckle, looking down.
“It's genuinely crazy how you've managed to make me forget that I've existed this long without knowing you from the start.” He shakes his head in disbelief. “Is this what it's like to find your soul mate?” he says, thinking out loud. You giggle and nod.
“I think so. You feel like my person.” You smile brightly up at him. His eyes meet yours once again. It's a miracle that his knees didn't send him tumbling to the floor. The look in your eyes makes his insides melt into something warm. He returns a big, toothy grin.
“You are definitely my person.” You're smiling so hard your cheeks start to hurt.
Isn't too hard to see, we're in heaven. You have this overwhelming need to jump up and down, roll on the floor, and kick your feet around. His cute smile and adoring eyes just have that effect on you. Somehow you manage to remain standing, but you do let out a few bounces on the balls of your feet.
Eddie's gaze lowers to your adorably scrunched nose. The excitement you're trying so hard and failing to hide gets a laugh out of him. Though the urge and desire is very heavy, Eddie keeps himself from diving in to kiss your lips, instead pulling you into his chest and hugging you tight, burying his face into your hair, breathing in your scent.
His arms wrap around your shoulders, and you wrap your arms around his middle. His closeness makes your insides burst. Your brain can't help but scream at how good he smells. He feels so warm and safe. If you died right now, you'd go out happy. Neither of you want to pull away, so you spend the entirety of the next song just holding each other. When the groovy tempo of Fleetwood Mac starts up, you can't help but start bopping in your hug. You're just too happy to let the beat pass over without effect. Eddie chuckles and only holds you tighter, swaying to the upbeat tempo with you in his arms.
When the last song on your mixtape starts, you can't help but giggle at the irony of this sweet moment combining with the Bob Marley tune. Your head bounces slightly against his chest as Eddie chuckles, listening to the lyrics. The clear sound of his heartbeat and laugh right next to your ear makes your eyes close, body filling with the warmth happiness brings. You softly hum to the melodies of the love song as this night fades into the rest of your life shared with none other than your forever person, Eddie Munson.

About the Blog
[Playlist Link]
Yo, call me London.
I made this blog for funsies. I got into Stranger Things recently after going through a bad time with my health, and I made this blog to put my fun little creations up and just have a nice space where I can relax, work on no pressure projects, and just talk some Stranger Things with friends.
If I’m being honest I won’t take requests. I’m just mainly doing this for me.
As you can see, I am in deep for Eddie Munson. He reminds me a lot of my IRL partner and I enjoy that his character shares a lot of personality traits with myself as well. Joseph Quinn really did a phenomenal job of bringing such a memorable performance to life.
Please keep in mind that this space is 18+ only, no minors please.
Also, do keep in mind that I will write my high school reader inserts as being 18 years old in senior year when paired romantically with Eddie Munson, who I’ll write to be around 20-21. There seems to be a lot of drama surrounding writing involving the canonical plot, and I just thought I’d make it clear that the characters are of age in any romantic or intimate situations. I’m also not much of a smut writer, mainly its fade to black or purple prose to hell.
Current Projects
• Multi Chapter OC x Eddie Munson Fanfic - Working Title “Seven Inches of Satanic Panic”, chapter 2
• Various chapter illustrations for “Seven Inches of Satanic Panic”
• Eddie Munson x Cottagecore!Reader with a Christmas theme
Masterlist
•• A Freak and A Basket Case: The Seven Inches of Satanic Panic Edition Masterlist — My Hispanic!reader insert written as the good lord intended: as an OC fic.
•• If You Have Corroded Coffin, You Have Everything - Series where Reader basically becomes Tobias Forge in 1986 Hawkins, Indiana and Corroded Coffin is a prototype of the band Ghost.
•• Headcanons - Some thoughts. Head delulu. Expect a lot of info dumping and general neurodivergence shenanigans.
•• Ulterior Motives - Eddie Munson x Fem!Reader smut based on the once thought to be lost media from the 1986 Adult Film “Angels of Passion”.
•• A Freak and A Basket Case - Eddie Munson x Fem!Hispanic!Reader series that started out as an OC fic, but I chickened out at the last minute and made it an Eddie x Reader.
•• The Dad!Eddie Collection - A series of different fics where you and Eddie become parents.
•• Space Oddity - The Weird!Reader Collection - The collection of fics where reader is basically a freak.
•• Something About Us - Eddie Munson x MKUltra!Experiment!Reader, non binary reader who is suggested to be Eleven's "sibling". We need more fanfics that revolve around Experiment!Readers in this fandom.

All Too Much
Eddie Munson x Autistic Fem Reader (requested)
Summary: Eddie had never given you reason to feel ashamed of who you were but old ideologies die hard. After becoming overwhelmed at a party, Eddie comforts reader and helps her calm down again. (Angst and fluff. As a neurodivergent person who also works with children on the autism spectrum, writing this felt very rewarding<3 Also, I didn’t use the terms autistic/autism because given the time period and the fact reader is fem, she likely would’ve never received a diagnosis. I hope that’s okay!)
———
You always knew you were different. Always felt as if everyone else received a briefing on daily life and relationships that somehow you missed out on. You struggled to relate to others. Or rather others struggled to relate with you. For years, things went unnoticed. You were viewed as a precocious child, curious and excitable. But as you got older, your nature was seen less as “quirky” and more so difficult, or downright annoying. Even parents and teachers saw your behavior as uncooperative and obstructive. You were weird. At least that’s what your peers decided. You were constantly ridiculed and looked down upon. In a sea of people who all seemed to get it, you were lost. That is, until you met Eddie.
The day he first approached you, you were prepared to be peppered with insults. Eddie seemed to have a disdain for most people at your school. Why would you be any different? You avoided eye contact and pushed your food around your tray as he sat down at your lunch table. He stared at you momentarily, watching as you ignored him til finally he broke the silence.
“Y’know everyone here says you’re a weirdo.” A strong opener to a conversation yet somehow not surprising. You continued to prod at the questionable meat served to you, shutting out the comment and Eddie completely. “Not gonna say anything?” He perched his head in his hands. You allowed the question to become lost in the endless chatter from neighboring tables. “I’ve been watching you.” The words hit you like a gunshot. You heart finally caught up with the situation, rising in rate. Had he really? You tried so hard not to draw attention but somehow found yourself on Eddie Munson’s radar. You peered up at the metal head through your lashes. Eddie cocked his head to the side. “While I wouldn’t necessarily call you weird…you are different.” Your face was stone and words nonexistent. “I like that.” He smiled before extending his hand to you. “Eddie Munson. Resident freak and fellow weirdo.”
———
Eddie had collected a small band of misfits. Other Hawkins students who just didn’t meet the social norm. Some through interest, others through actions. But regardless, Eddie made them feel understood or at the very least, seen. He saw you for exactly who you were. Even with all your hang ups, he never once cast judgement. In fact, he found your behavior endearing. He loved when you’d get excitable while explaining your interests or something you were passionate about. He loved the twinkle in your eye and the way your voice sped up as you talked. But more than anything, he loved showing you new music. You’d sit in the passenger seat, while Eddie slid a cassette into the tape player.
“Wait for it! Wait for it!” He’d instruct, holding up a hand in anticipation of your reaction. You’d watch him with a smile, his head bobbing as the music reach it’s crescendo. Your eyes widened in delight as you were overcome by a wave of crashing cymbals and melodic guitars harmonies. It was a full body reaction. You lightly bounced in your seat. Your hands excitedly flexed and twitched, the music hitting your ears just right. “You like that, don’t you, Sweetheart?” Eddie would chuckle. You’d nod in agreement, Eddie’s deep brown eyes softening on you as a slight giggle escaped your lips.
Over the years, you had gotten better at reining yourself in and toning yourself down for the benefit of others. Even with Eddie. He had never given you any reason to feel insecure, but the scrutiny of others always lingered in the back of your mind. You never wanted him to view you as too much. But like with most things, you had your breaking points.
When Eddie invited you to the bonfire, you were apprehensive to say the least. You wrung your hands nervously at the invitation. But when Eddie threw an arm over your shoulder, you instantly felt a little more relaxed.
“You’ll be fine. I’ll be with you the entire night. Besides with everyone drinking and partying, they’ll be in their own little worlds. That’s how these things usually go. Just stick by me and everything will be alright. Okay?” Crowds were never really your thing but you could never say no to Eddie. Besides, maybe it would do you some good to step out of your comfort zone a little.
“Okay.” You nodded with a nervous sigh. A smile stretched across Eddie’s perfect face.
“That’s my girl.”
———
Students gathered deep in the woods around Skull rock. Some sat up on the stone, their legs dangling carelessly while other’s drank around the roaring fire. You walked under Eddie’s arm through the thickets and into the rowdy scene. He was absolutely right. You expected gawking eyes but not a glance was spared your way. Everyone was too busy enjoying themselves to care. It took no time for Eddie to zero in on his friends. Their style of dress was reminiscent to his own and hard to overlook.
“Let’s go say hi to the guys.” You let Eddie lead you in their direction. Greetings were exchanged before falling into the rhythm of idle conversation. They rambled on about their latest campaign, something you knew nothing about having never played D&D. You watched the feral teens and twenty something’s in their reckless abandon. It was like something out of National Geographic. Sleazy boys poaching tipsy women like lions to gazelles. Another boy was purging his guts up by the base of a tree, already surpassing his limits. Music blared through a tape deck. You struggled to pick up a steady rhythm with the millions of conversations all happening at once. You could feel yourself growing tense. You looked up to Eddie and his friend’s, totally content in their huddle which only made you feel worse. Be normal you internally cursed. No one else seemed bothered by the madness. The flames of the fire flickered in a strobe like effect, cutting everyone’s movement into a dizzying stop-motion display. Your heart had started racing. Volume seemed to be increasing as your eyes struggled to make out everything that was happening around you. You closed your eyes to try and calm yourself but you were already in your own head. By this point, you were hyper aware of everything. The suffocating heat of the fire. How itchy your sweater really was. Even the way your tongue illy fit in your mouth. You wanted to jump out of your own body. You squeezed your eyes tighter, praying the feeling would pass.
“She okay?” Garreth ask, noticing your contorted face. Eddie’s attention flashed to you immediately. His eyes filled with concern seeing something was wrong.
“Give us a minute.” He pulled you in close and walked you to a partial clearing. He bent down to meet your eye level and took your hands in his. “Talk to me, Sweetheart. What’s going on?” With your eyes clamped shut, you couldn’t see the way he worried for you. You shook your head, not wanting to answer. “C’mon Y/N. I can’t make this better if you don’t tell me what’s wrong.” He ghosted his thumb along the back of your hand.
“I don’t know! It’s just too much! This is just too much for me!” Your eyes darted around the scene. Eddie watched them fill with tears. He’d never seen you cry before and he’d be damned if he let it happen now.
“Let’s go back to the van. It’s quiet there” He stepped forwards reaching a hand to you, waiting for you to let him guide you down the brush path and out of the woods. You sniffled as you laced your fingers with his. “Everything is gonna be okay.”
The walk back was miserable. Everything down to the seam of your socks in your shoes made your skin crawl. Eddie must’ve noticed the way you kept looking towards your feet with discomfort. He opened the passenger side door for you before taking the drivers seat. He didn’t bother turning the key, he thought the dark of the van might help you decompress. Eddie tapped his ringed hands against this lap. “Feet up.” You pressed your back against the door and stretched your legs over the center console. Eddie wasted no time in undoing your laces. You cocked your head to the side as you watched. It was amazing the way he could read you sometimes. He balled your socks together and tossed them in the back. “Is that better?” He whispered. You closed your eyes, leaning your head against the window.
“Much better.”
“Great. Just take deep breaths for me, okay? We don’t have to go back there. Don’t even think about what’s going on out there. It’s just me and you now.” His tone was hushed and soft as silk. A sharp contrast to the grating sounds that racked your nerves just prior. You offered a simple nod, taking deep breaths just as Eddie had asked. The van was silent save for the chirp of crickets just outside. Eddie thought it better to let you start conversation when you were ready. He waited patiently. It wasn’t an uncomfortable silence. It was simple and almost cleansing. Your ridged posture softened in the quiet. You focused in on the rhythm of your breathing til it grounded you. A quiet I’m sorry left your lips.
“I didn’t mean to get so worked up.”
“Nah, that party sucked anyway. I mean, did you hear the music they were playing? Made my skin crawl too.” Eddie joked which instantly defused the situation. “You okay now though?”
“Yea, I think I’m good.” You sighed into the silence.
“Can I…touch you?” His tone was saccharine sweet and warm enough that you felt it in your stomach. A meek mhm is all you could muster. His features were soft in the low light of the van. You wanted to touch him as well but settled for his harmless hand over your shin. He rubbed his hand back and forth over the leg of your jeans in the most comforting way. “If I would’ve known you weren’t feeling okay, we would’ve left sooner.”
“I thought I could work through it.” You were embarrassed. How do you explain to someone something you don’t fully comprehend yourself?
“But you don’t have to. We were there to have fun. So if you’re not having fun, what’s the point in being there? There’s a million other things we can do.” Always so cool in his explanations. His words were never profound but somehow enlightened you anytime you felt lost or unsure.
“Yea, like what?”
Eddie shrugged. “Go for a quiet drive, get some food. Maybe go back to my place?” Eddie rubbed the back of his neck nervously. “We could watch a movie or something. Only if you want to! Or…I could just take you home, that’s cool too. I mean, It’s whatev-“ You leaned over the center console, cupping his perfect face in your hands. You pressed a delicate kiss to his cheek, promptly shutting him up. His eyes grew to the size of saucers as you pulled away.
“A movie sounds great.”

This Must Be The Place
Chapter 8: (You Gotta) Fight For Your Right (To Party)
Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5 Part 6
Part 7
(Eddie Munson X GN!Reader)
Summary: Jonathan’s birthday is coming up and he’s throwing a party with the whole gang. You’re so honoured to be there, but with your love for a good margarita and your painful crush on Eddie…is it a bad idea? (fuck it, it’s fine)
W/C: 3.9K
Warnings: illegal! alcohol consumption (EDIT: I read the wrong state law. The legal drinking age for Indiana was 21 since 1934. I’m sure the duffers don’t care but I am neurodivergent so I do.)
A/N: Thanks for the reblogs folks. Also hit me up if you wanna be in the Taglist.
The alarm rang out and echoed throughout the walls of the dimly lit trailer, it was so early that the sun had barely risen. It was cold mornings like these when Eddie started to consider if this job was even worth the money. After hitting snooze a total of three times he finally dragged himself out of bed and stumbled lazily to the bathroom. After a nice refreshing shower, he tugged on his dark jeans and pulled on his shirt. His eyes glanced over some of the hair product that Steve had purposely left on his drawers, rolling his eyes before giving his waves a little spritz and then immediately erupting into a coughing fit.
“Eddie? You alright in there, sounds like you’re about to cough up a lung.” He sighed and yelled back ‘I’m fine Wayne’ before cursing the Harrington boy and giving himself a little once over. His hands grabbed his wallet and car keys, shoving them into his pockets as he placed a cigarette behind his ear.
He pulled on his leather jacket and snatched a pop tart from the counter before popping it into the toaster. He pulled open the fridge and quickly scanned it before bringing the tip of the orange juice carton to his lips. Wayne watched him and groaned, angrily gripping the carton from his hands.
“Ed, what have I told you? We have perfectly good glasses. Would it kill you to use one?” He shrugged with that charming smirk, the one that has been getting him out of trouble all these years.
“Just saving on your water bill Wayne, gotta stay green”. He winked, pulling his pop tart out of the toaster and taking a bite before instantly burning the roof of his mouth. Wayne chuckled as Eddie eyed the cold carton in his hands and he rolled his eyes, handing him it before waving him off. “I’ll be out in five!”. He called back, finishing his breakfast and brushing his teeth before dousing himself in cheap cologne.
He checked his watch and smirked to himself, he still had time. It was still pretty chilly despite his many layers, but he’d learned to brave the cold over time. Perching on the edge of the step he reached behind his ear for his cigarette and held it between his lips, burning the end and blowing out the excess smoke. Wayne sat beside him, doing the same as they soaked in the comfortable silence. This was a morning routine for them and it was something Eddie would always be grateful for. Wayne would get on his ass about smoking when he was a little younger, but despite not being super thrilled about it he did enjoy the company.
“Alright I’m heading out, see you at dinner”. He gave Wayne a half-armed hug goodbye, still holding the half-smoked cigarette between his fingers. Wayne smirked and scruffed up his hair before giving him a playful shove, Eddie rolled his eyes and headed to the van whilst fixing it in the side mirror. When he hopped in, he turned the key and listened to the engine roar and the music blasting from the speakers. He honked twice and waved from the window before backing out and heading to work.
Flicking his cigarette butt out onto the road, he glanced down at his watch before looking over at the sign for a new coffee place. A short trip won’t hurt. He hopped out of his van and began walking towards the building, it was a quaint little cafe attached to a strip mall. It was pretty hidden if you weren’t looking, but the second he pushed open the door the bell rang and his nose was bombarded with the most heavenly scents. Bacon, eggs, toast, pancakes, coffee, the works. He didn’t have a lot of time but figured he could charm Steve and Robin with some baked goods to forgive him for his tardiness. A young waitress in an apron was preoccupied with refilling the coffee pot when he smiled to himself and looked over at the donuts.
“One coffee and two donuts to go when you got a minute sweetheart”. The waitress turned around with a shy grin and shot him telling eyes.
"Much better than last time, nice work”. He heard a voice whisper in his ear as he clutched his chest with his hand. When he turned around to look at you, he immediately covered his face with his hands. You giggled and pulled them away from his face, holding onto them as he struggled to breathe.
"Jesus, are you stalking me? I swear to god if I flirt in front of you again I think I’m gonna find a nice lake to crash my van into”. You grinned widely, shoving his arm playfully.
“$3.25”. The waitress snapped impatiently, she didn’t seem to feel guilty about interrupting your exchange. Eddie nodded and handed her the money with a small smirk as she hit his fingers against the cash register.
“I’m working at Family Video until 5 if you wanna come stalk me there, there’s some bushes in the parking lot that have a killer view”. You chuckled, as he picked up his coffee and someone yelled out your name for your own cup.
“Speaking from experience, Munson?”. He sighed and shoved your shoulder making you smirk back at him.
“Well, I’ll see you at the Byers tonight?”. The thought had completely slipped his mind, more focused on how warm your smile was and the butterflies he felt when you said his name. Before he could worry himself with what bring to Jonathan’s birthday, he realised the time.
“Right yeah, shit they’re gonna have my ass if I’m even later. Hey thanks sweetheart, I’ll see you tonight.” He pulled some more money from his pocket and placed it in the tip jar before waving goodbye and rushing to his van.
—
Eddie finally waltzed into work, coffee in one hand and donuts in the other as Robin and Steve rolled their eyes at his carefree tardiness. Steve rested against the counter, folding his arms across the chest of his striped polo, a look of disappointment on his face. Robin’s ears perked up as she caught a whiff of the hot donuts and smiled to herself reaching her hands out to grip the paper bag. He quickly snatched it from her reach, his finger uncurling from his cup to wag at her.
“Uh uh. No one’s getting shit , neither of you bothered to give me a heads up about the surprise guest at Byers tonight?”. They exchanged a silent look of guilt as he sighed, storming off into the back room. Steve followed closely behind, watching as he replaced his jacket with his work vest.
“I thought you’d want me to invite them! I mean I guess I could have said something earlier-“.
“Listen man, It’s embarrassing enough having this stupid little crush, but you know how brain-dead I get around them. I need time to mentally prepare, and a party? God, I cannot drink. You got that? Not a drop, okay? You better hold me to it, Harrington, I can’t make a fool out of myself I just ....”. Steve just smirked back at him, watching him lose himself in his anxieties. With a quirk on his brow, Eddie stared back at his friend’s smugness, in confusion. “…what?”.
“You got it bad, man.” Before he could plead his case, Robin stuck her head around the door and nodded in agreement. He whacked his head against the wall and held it there, feeling a swell of fear in his stomach.
“I’m screwed, I am insanely screwed. They’re gonna show up looking like a million bucks and I was planning on wearing whichever shirt passed the sniff test.” Robin’s nose scrunched up at the confession and Steve held the bridge of his nose trying to figure out how they could help.
“Okay, so we got a few hours before the party. If we close up a little earlier today then we can head to Starcourt and get you something cool to wear. We'll get some cologne, maybe a couple of hair products and they’ll be falling at your feet. Who knows maybe tonight is the night you make a move?”. He appreciated Steve’s enthusiasm but he was too in his head to even consider making a move.
“I must really be hopeless to be taking advice from you idiots…fine, but not another chick flick makeover, if it ain’t broke don’t fix it.” He said with a smug smile as they begrudgingly agreed.
Work that day was one of the longest and most anxiety-ridden shifts Eddie had ever worked. All he could think about was the small time gap between the end of his shift and the start of the party. There was so much to do. The doors to the Family Video store closed about an hour early and they headed to the mall to pick out some essentials to take back to the trailer. As they pulled up to the door, Eddie noticed Wayne sitting outside on the porch smoking his afternoon cigarette. His eyebrows raised as he noticed the abundance of shopping bags that Robin and Steve walked into the house.
“Do I even wanna know?”. He asked Eddie on his way in he just sighed and shook his head, Wayne chuckling to himself as he finished the end of his cigarette.
After finally agreeing on an outfit, the right cologne and the slightest hint of hair product, he was up to scratch. He did a little spin as they both cheered and he grinned like a fool thinking about how much he was gonna impress you. He wandered outside in the living room as the smell alone was enough to make Wayne look up from the television set.
“Well look at you, this all for them?”. Eddie’s face blushed a dark red, of course he knew. “Don’t worry son, I’ll keep my mouth shut. But you better make your move fast, I've heard things about that Harrington boy and I don’t trust him.” He muttered into his ear as Eddie chuckled and brought him into a big hug before they all waved goodbye and headed to the party.
It wasn’t that far of a drive, when they pulled up Jonathan was standing outside the door with a red solo cup in his hand laughing about something with Argyle. Jumping out of his van he smirked to himself heading over, before he could open his mouth he heard someone else shout behind him.
“Hey, birthday boy!”.
His neck snapped to turn to you, watching as you walked over to Jonathan and pulled him for a big hug. Eddie looked over at his friends in shock and they gestured for him to go ahead. He whispered a few “ you’ve got this Munson”s in his head and started to stride over with purpose. Jonathan’s eyes lit up as he pulled him into a big hug and wished him a happy birthday.
“What am I, chopped liver?”. He chuckled, finally turning to you as he took in your outfit for the first time. He was speechless, you’d always looked so amazing but this was the first time he had seen you get dolled up for a party. “Cat got your tongue, pretty boy?”. You smirked, playing it cool whilst you took in his outfit.
“You know, I kinda forgot you were even coming tonight.” You fake gasped and slapped his arm, keeping your blush at bay. He wanted to say something, wanted to tell you that you looked beautiful. That he was so happy to see you. Instead, he grinned at you like a fool until you suggested heading inside. “After you”. He bowed, opening up the door as you smirked and wandered inside. “Ms Byers! Looking as beautiful as ever.” Eddie grinned, grabbing her hand to kiss her knuckles, she chuckled and shook her head.
“Eddie, you are such a charmer! And I tell you every time you can call me Joyce.” He refuses as always and you and Joyce share a chuckle. “Has he always been this stubborn?”. She asked as you glanced back at him at the look of fake shock on his face.
“Oh, of course not.” He grinned at your support as you looked back at her. “He used to be much worse”. She chuckled as Eddie rolled his eyes, you introduced yourself and Joyce made sure to let you know which room was the bathroom and which room had the table of snacks. You noticed Will sat on the table sketching something, whilst his friends sat with their respective girlfriends.
“I’m gonna go check on baby Byers, could you ask Harrington to bring in big Byers gift? I left it in the car.” You conjured up your loudest and most dramatic sigh, before grinning and heading outside where Steve and Dustin were in the midst of one of their ridiculous arguments. Instead of getting involved you just rolled your eyes and shoved your hand into Steve’s coat pocket, he widened his eyes as you took his car keys without saying another word. Once you’d grabbed the gift, you wandered back into the house and handed it to Eddie as he smirked back at you.
“Check out the kid’s work, impressive right?”. Your eyes glanced over the sketch, a giant dragon in a dark cave with flames pouring from his mouth. It was amazing, especially for a kid as young as him.
“Will, this is incredible! You know, a good friend of mine is also a pretty great artist. Maybe you could collaborate?”. You couldn’t see his face from where you were sitting but caught the glimpse of a smile from the corner of your eye. Will nodded and thanked you, you watched as Eddie’s hand reached for a pencil and he started adding some rough sketches and throwing out ideas.
Dustin wandered in tow with Steve and Robin, heading towards the drinks table before stopping in their tracks. They all turned to look over at you both, Eddie leaning against the table listening intently as Will spoke about his art with a look of wonder on his face. He may have missed it but the others were in the perfect spot to see you smiling at the Munson boy like he was god’s gift.
“God, they’re so cute it’s actually sickening”. Robin announced as everyone huffed in agreement, she wandered over to pour herself a drink and ease the nauseous feeling in her stomach. Steve hung back as Dustin shot him a look, he folded his arms against his chest as he ping-ponged his stare between you both.
“Must be weird seeing someone else co-parenting with Eddie, huh?”. Steve just huffed a laugh, only half listening as he continued to watch your interaction.
“Ha, yeah.” Dustin headed to join Robin when Steve finally processed what he’d said. “Wait, what?”.
–
The party had officially started and everything was going great, thankfully Jonathan had pretty solid taste in music and Joyce knew what the best snacks were. You heard her mutter something about ice when there was a knock on the door, she immediately abandoned her cocktail and pulled it open. You turned your head from Eddie and locked eyes on the mystery man who wandered through the door.
“Chief Hopper?”. You froze, staring blankly as he raised his eyebrows. He hadn’t heard that name in a while.
“Sorry uh…have we…met before?”. Before you could think of an excuse and dig yourself out of the hole, your best friend found this a perfect opportunity to humiliate you.
All in good fun, of course.
“Aw come on Hop, you can’t tell me you don’t remember the face of delinquency.” He grabbed your face and squished it as you growled and shoved his hands, hoping the burning of your cheeks wasn’t noticeable. Hopper didn’t seem any more clued in, Eddie rolling his eyes. “My old partner in crime, in middle school? We hopped over that fence back in-“.
“Okay! Eddie, thanks for that. Listen, I am so sorry for how much of a handful we were back then.” He chuckled, shaking his head and waving you off, the clogs started turning when you realised that Eddie called him Hop . It was clear there was no bad blood. At least between them .
“It’s fine, honestly he’s done way worse since then”. You turned your head back to Eddie, raising your eyebrows.
“You have ?”. His face dropped into a serious stare and he nodded.
“Oh yeah, we’re talking drug dealing, petty theft, grand theft auto, I’m two court dates shy of the electric chair, baby”. You rolled your eyes and he smirked like a Cheshire Cat. Hopper handed the ice over to Joyce and she added her finishing touches whilst the three of you stood in awkward silence. Luckily you were saved by Jonathan, wandering in from outside holding the cutest baby you’d ever seen.
“Hey honey, your big brother looking after you okay?.”’ He looked back up at you both with a smile, your eyes sparkling at the presence of the little one. “This is April, our little girl. She’s almost a year old.” He announces as April stares at Eddie and he waves at her, causing her to break into a huge smile. “Oh, and she is obsessed with Eddie.”
“She sure is, come here, sweetheart. Uncle Ed’s got you.” He said in a soft voice, giving in to the grabby hands and pulling her into his chest. You were stunned, you had never witnessed a purer sight. Hopper was right, April was obsessed with him. Her tiny hands gripping onto his curls whilst he bounced her a little and she erupted into childish laughter. She reached for his shiny rings, gently pulling at his fingers watching them catch the light. He handed her back to her father who wandered back to Joyce giving her a forehead kiss and complimenting her bartending skills.
You and Eddie watched them and spoke about how sweet they were and how cute April was. Giggling about how strong Joyce was making the cocktails, but complimenting her on the sugar rim and little umbrellas. She finished up two fruity-looking drinks that you both knew were filled to the brim with liquor and headed towards you.
“Isn’t Eddie supposed to be avoiding the booze?.” Dustin pointed out as Steve’s eyes grew wide and he scarfed down the pretzels that filled his cheeks before sprinting towards his metalhead friend. Just as Joyce was about to hand Eddie his cocktail, Steve swiped it from her grasp and drank the whole thing in one gulp. Her eyes widened in shock as you both stared back at him blankly.
“Thanks, Ms Byers, I really needed that.” Too concerned to give a response, she just shook her head and wandered back to the drinks table. Steve wobbled back to Dustin and Robin, as both of them struggled to stop their intense laughter.
After the drinks were dished out to the guests the party started to pick up pretty quickly, Mike and Lucas dancing like dorks to impress their girlfriends and Will reluctantly dancing with Joyce. You stood with Robin nursing your drinks and shooting the shit when you started to wonder where Steve had gotten to. Excusing yourself, you headed through the less-than-sober bodies in search of the luscious locks of the Harrington boy. After checking most of the rooms, you found him. Sprawled out like a snow angel on the floor of Jonathan’s bedroom. You chuckled and stumbled through the door, collapsing next to him.
“Jesus Stevie, you start a tab out there or what?”. Steve turned his head slightly to face before slapping his hand over his eyes and scrunching his face.
“Oh god, too fast. So much spinning”. You chuckled and pulled his hand down, he opened his eyes slowly and stared back into yours which were almost completely glazed over at this point. “Huh, you’re drunnnkkk”. He giggled as he bopped the end of your nose with his free hand, you smiled back at him and chuckled.
“You’re not exactly giving ‘designated driver’ right now, Harrington. At least I can form sandwic-sentences. I can form sentences. God, that’s a hard word. I think I’m hungry”.
“Well, all the pretzels are gonneeee”. He announced proudly before letting out a burp, you both chuckled in your drunken daze as he glanced back at you. “Eddie made a move on you yet?.” You huffed a laugh and rolled over onto your back, staring blankly at the ceiling.
“Yeah, right. I was so nervous I started chugging those cocktails like it was my job . Then I got a little too drunk and all I could see was his beautiful brown doe eyes staring at me like fucking Bambi and I just wanna grab his cheeks and just-“. You turned to Steve and grabbed his face, pausing as you both stared at each other. Without a second thought, you both leaned in and shared a kiss, pulling away as you heard someone open the door. “Eddie”. Your face morphed into a smile until you started to realise what you’d done, Steve rose from the floor as Eddie stormed out.
“It’s okay I’ll go after him, just stay here. Please.” Normally you would challenge him but right now your head was swirling with thoughts and your chest swarming with feelings. There was a whole conflict inside your body and you were far too drunk to understand it. So you let Steve go.
He put his track skills to good use and jogged through the living room to meet Eddie on the porch, lighting up his cigarette. It was dark out now, still a little cold for the month. The stars were out and the sky was clearer than it had been all week, the cold air was enough to sober Steve up, at least enough to have a conversation about you. He took a deep breath and immediately coughed on the second-hand smoke as Eddie chuckled and shook his head.
“If you wanna go for it Harrington…just go for it.” Eddie took a drag and stared off into the night, a blank expression on his face and his cheeks blushing red from the wind.
“No. Eddie that’s your-“.
“That’s not my anything. I’m the one to chicken shit to step up and say something. If you have a shot, take it, it’s not up to me to stop you.” Steve groaned and shoved Eddie, causing him to turn around in shock and anger.
“What the hell is wrong with you?”. He stubbed out his cigarette and stood up to face him, as he gave him another shove.
“You. You’re being a coward! You’re giving up way too easily!”. Eddie shot Steve a threatening look but refused to follow through with his action. He ignored him and stormed off, heading to his van before gassing it up and driving back home at high speed.
“Fuck.” Steve muttered, collapsing on the porch and holding his head in his hands.

hey, love! i absolutely adore your writing and thought you’d be the best person to write this:
maybe reader is neurodivergent and gets overstimulated during class. the teacher just yells at her for not paying attention and the other kids are just making snide comments. eddie sees how overwhelmed she is and does his best to help by sticking up for her (however you like).
love you! <3
hi, my love! of course i can do this! i based this on a lot of personal experiences, so it probably leans more in the direction of autistic!reader (although not clarified because of the time period), but a lot of neurodivergent conditions overlap, so it could apply to you as well!
warnings: fem!reader. neurodivergent!reader. use of y/n. pet names. meltdowns. yelling. use of ableist slur (r slur). ableism. overstimulation. hurt. comfort. tooth-rotting fluff by the end [1.5k].
A digger. It was always a digger. Why was this school always been built upon? Could they not take a break for five minutes?
And it being a hot summer’s day in Hawkins meant that your Math teacher Mrs. O’Donnell just told everyone to ignore the sound, closing the window meaning herself and the other students would become overwhelmed by the suffering heat.
Which you found pretty ironic, considering that feeling is what you experienced from the head-aching drilling of the machine outside.
Luckily, your other teachers were pretty familiar with your condition, allowing you to use fidget toys, headphones and other items that would help keep you at ease. But, Mrs. O’Donnell was a completely different story.
“Miss. L/N! I asked you a question!”
The sound of her screaming voice snapped you out of your head, the volume of her yelling overtaking the loud drilling.
“I-I’m sorry Miss, what did you ask me?”
She huffs, “It doesn’t matter what I asked you, you were not listening to me. I’m giving you one more chance else you will be sent out of my classroom. Understood?”
That’s another thing you hated: non-straightforward answers. What was so hard about her repeating the question? If anything, although you weren’t fully focused, you understood the content pretty well, and could probably answer what question she asked.
And then came the snide comments, the snickering from the students on the table just behind you.
“She definitely uses it as an excuse.”
“Oh, totally. She can hear perfectly fine, she just doesn’t want to do the work.”
“Look at her, she doesn’t even look like she has her supposed condition.”
“Maybe I should start doing it, get a free pass out of work.”
You turn around in your seat to see the boy behind you looking around in all directions, frantically waving his hands and talking in a robotic voice.
And then comes the word, “Dude, you look so retarded right now.”
That word. You hated that word. It cut like a knife through skin. And it really fucking hurt.
“Excuse me, Miss. L/N!” Mrs. O’Donnell screams again, you realising how long your back has been turned staring at the boys, “I told you I’d give you one more warning and you have broken it. Outside, now!”
You sigh, putting down your pencil and walking out of the classroom, every student eyeing you up as you exit. Every stare felt like it was burning into your soul. Although, there’s one boy situated right in the back left corner who gives you a sympathetic smile.
There was so much you wanted to say, there always is. But, your brain wouldn’t allow it. You turned into a mouse the second someone punished you. You want to scream and yell about how rude the boys were behind you, how the digger was giving you a headache and how your whole body felt like it was on fire. From the loud machine, to the scratching of the chalk, to the snickering laughter behind you. It just felt all too much, and now that you were sat on the floor in the corridor, everything was starting to feel a lot less hectic.
However, from inside of the classroom, you can hear continued yelling, before the door opened once more, that boy now outside with both his bag and your own in his hand.
“Jesus. You okay?” he asks, a worried expression on his face.
You nod, sniffling a little from the tears that had pricked at the corner of your eyes. “Yeah, I’m fine. This usually happens a lot, so I just kind of ride through it at this point.”
What you said wasn’t a total lie. You’ve learnt over the years that riding through the pain was healthier than suppressing it. But, it sure did help when you had your headphones with you.
And your knight in shining armour had seemingly come to save the day.
“Hey, um, I’m not sure whether you’re the same as me,” he leans down, opening up his backpack and pulling out his cassette player and orange headphones, “But, I always find music is the key to calming the mind. So… my offer stands.”
Looking up from your curled-up state, you notice the boy holding out his music towards you, a warm smile on his face. And his eyes… God, his eyes were pretty. If anything could improve your eye contact, it would be staring into his chocolate brown orbs.
You hesitantly take the cassette player off of him, instantly sliding the volume down to zero, knowing that he would’ve probably had it blasting beforehand. You slide on the headphones and press down on the ‘play’ button.
“Yeah, sorry about the music choice. As you can see, metal is kinda my thing.”
You softly laugh at his apology, “It’s okay. It’s not all bad. Although, I would say ‘Paranoid’ is the better album over this.”
Eddie almost choked on his own spit at your comment. A pretty girl who likes Black Sabbath? He thinks he just died and went to heaven.
“Um,” he coughs, “Yeah, I mean, I absolutely agree that ‘Heaven and Hell’ isn’t their greatest works, but I would personally argue that ‘Master of Reality’ should be everyone’s top pick. ‘Paranoid’ is the easy option out for any baseline Sabbath fan—“ He stops himself, this poor girl had just experienced the worst humiliation of her life, and here he was practically calling her a fake fan. God, why was he like this?
You smile up at him, noticing his change in demeanour as he looks away and rubs the back of his neck in embarrassment, “Keep talking. It helps me ground myself.”
His eyes light up at your comment, and my God was it one of the cutest things you had ever seen. You were exactly like him in that sense, super strong interests that you had learned to suppress. People had always told you to “calm down” or “shut up” whenever you rambled about Blondie, and it made you give the same response as him, catching yourself before you knew you would annoy somebody.
“Really?” he asks, you nodding as you direct him to continue, “Well, of course, music taste is subjective, and I didn’t mean to call you some fake fan or whatever by your favourite album choice, ‘Paranoid’ is a killer after all, it’s just a beginner’s choice sweetheart, I hate to tell you.”
You laugh and take a huge gasp, clutching your hand to your heart, “Actually, they did a ranking of all of their albums recently in ‘Heavy Metal,’ and you would be shocked to know that ‘Paranoid’ came out on top. So, is everyone a fake fan according to your rulebook?”
Pretty girl, rambling about Black Sabbath to him. Maybe love at first sight was real after all.
He shakes his head, “Sweetheart, I read it too, don’t you worry.”
Sweetheart. Why did that make your heart jump?
“And I have to say, still a basic choice regardless. They didn’t even put ‘Master of Reality’ in the top three, which I personally think is a disgrace to Sabbath’s legacy. They seriously put ‘Dehumanizer’ at number two. I thought we all collectively agreed that Ozzy was always the better vocalist over Dio.”
If there was one thing that would instantly bring you out of your shell, it was mutual interests. You were known as the “quiet mouse” in the walls of Hawkins High, but with him? You may have been the most talkative you’ve been outside of your friend group in years.
“Yeah, ‘Dehumanizer’ was a shocker at the number two spot for me too, I can’t lie to you. But, as a Sabbath fan, I would argue that the top spot was well deserved.”
“Well, I guess we’d have to agree to disagree there, sweetheart.”
The pair of you laugh softly as you come to the realisation that all the tension had evaporated from your body. You pause the tape halfway through ‘Die Young,’ handing it back over to the curly-haired boy, “I think I’m okay now, you can have this back.”
This was one of the fastest times you’ve ever calmed yourself from a meltdown. You were no longer curled up in the messy ball you once were, with your legs now sprawled out across the floor instead. And your head wasn’t pounding either, it felt clear as day.
“Hey, um, do you wanna skip? We can finish the rest of this album then.”
You look up at him, eye contact becoming the easiest it had ever felt. No questioning how much was too much or too little, it just came naturally to you.
God, he was having such an effect on you already.
“Sure, why not? I’d take any place away from the sound of that annoying digger.”
He softly laughs as you get up off the dirty floor, “Yeah, it wasn’t the most peaceful sound in the world.”
“The halls were heaven, that place was hell.”
Pretty girl makes references too. Was it normal to fall head over heels that quickly?
“Yeah, pretty great timing to play that album,” he chuckles. He turns to you, looking you deep in the eyes, “I’m Eddie, by the way.”
Beautiful name for a beautiful boy.
“Y/N.”
Pretty name for a pretty girl.
this was kinda self-indulgent i can’t lie to you :’) but i hope you enjoyed it regardless and could relate in a sense! <3

Masterlist
5.2k words
Sunlight streams into the room through the makeshift red curtains casting an orange glow. A yellow ray pierces the centre, a travelling shaft of light highlighting the swirling dust in the air. This sliver of sun appears to be your reason for waking, shining into your eyes.
Scrunching your face at the invading brightness, you take in your surroundings. Still in the messy, boyish bedroom, posters adorning every available wall space. Bed covers sprawled haphazardly over the both of you. You remain where you went to sleep, head on Eddie's chest, arm draped across him. You can feel the peaceful, up and down, gentle movement of his breathing. Both of his arms were wrapped around you tightly, as if he was afraid you'd flee in the dead of night.
His face looks so serene and untroubled. You trace the line of his jaw with your eyes, looking at his cheekbones, the slope of his nose, how his messy hair falls around his face, framing it. He looks like an angel.
Pressing kisses to his chest, on top of his tattoo, you feel like the luckiest girl in the world. Eddie's nose wrinkles adorably at your attention, and finally his eyes open.
"Mornin' beautiful." His voice was cracked, deep and groggy from sleep.
"Hey handsome." You smile up at him.
Kissing you on the forehead and grinning against you, he can't seem to help saying, "you stayed."
"You asked me to." You poke him teasingly.
"Well I'm glad you did' he said, pulling you in for an even tighter embrace.
"I can't stay much longer. If my parents get home and I'm not there they'll freak."
Eddie pouts, stroking your arm. "Can you stay long enough for me to make you breakfast?"
"Are you offering to cook for me Eddie Munson?" You stare at him incredulously.
"Does heating frozen waffles count?"
"Sounds great," you giggle, pulling him in for a kiss.
Pretty soon you were both sitting at the table, eating waffles and maple syrup. Eddie wearing sweats, you in your skirt and flannel shirt (and no underwear since he still refused to give them back.)
You had been worried that after last night something would change between you. Maybe he wouldn't like you as much, or it would be awkward. Seems like you were right; something had changed. You both couldn't stop stealing glances at each other and smiling. God, you were smiling so much your face hurt. Everything seemed natural, easy.
The front door flew open, startling you.
"Oh hey Wayne, this is y/n. My girlfriend." He beamed, clearly pleased as punch at being able to say that "Sweetheart, this my uncle Wayne."
"Oh," he said, "good morning miss, feel like I know you already, Eddie won't shut up about you."
You blush and hold out your hand. "Pleasure to meet you Mr Munson."
Wayne looks over your shoulder at Eddie "you could teach my nephew some manners." He grabs your hand. "Pleasure to meet you too." Giving you a firm hand shake.
"No, if y'all'd excuse me, imma take a shower and head to bed. Long night." And he heads off to the bathroom.
You turn to face Eddie. "So, been talking about me, huh?"
Eddie flushes, managing to say "well, what can I say? You're my dream girl."
"Who would have guessed? Eddie Munson is a cheese ball." You stand up, finished with your breakfast, and poke your tongue out at him.
Pulling you into his lap suddenly, you squeal. "Sweetheart, if I'm cheesy it's your fault." Pressing kisses to your neck.
You whimper, the unexpected attention sending shivers down your torso. "Eddie, fuck."
"That's never gonna get old." He smiles, stroking your back. "Let me grab a t shirt and I'll take you home." You smile back and kiss the tip of his nose.
********************
The next day at lunch, Eddie and the rest of Hellfire are already seated in the cafeteria when you enter.
"Hey boys" you smile, moving toward your usual spot. A chorus of 'heys' greets you. No different from any other day.
"Hey sweetheart." Eddie winks at you. He's not told them. You could tell by the maniacal grin on his face. He probably wants this to be dramatic. Of course he does, it's Eddie.
Well, here goes nothing.
Instead of sitting in your usual seat, next to Eddie, you flop down straight into his lap.
"Hey."
You kiss him, hard. Eddie's eyebrows raise as high as they can go, hands hovering in shock for a moment, before they come to rest at your waist. Your hands move into his hair as you deepen the kiss. You're pretty sure you can hear gasps around you, or something very much like it. It all sounds like it's underwater, unimportant. Breaking the kiss, you gaze at Eddie's face.
Eddie looks back at you with glassy eyes and chuckles. "Wasn't sure how you wanted to handle it."
"Oh you're mine. Everyone needs to know." You smirk at him, hand possessively held to his chest.
Finally breaking eye contact, you look at the other members of your party.
"Holy shit!" Mike's jaw drops.
"I fuckin' knew it" Gareth says to Jeff, pointing an accusing finger at you both. Jeff shakes his head in shock.
Dustin, on the other hand, just looks pleased. "About time" he grinned.
"How did you know?" You say to Dustin, puzzled. When your eyes flick back to Eddie he looks just as surprised as you.
"Duh, it's like Steve says, you can feel it. The electricity. It's like, super obvious."
Eddie smirks, "electricity, eh?" And runs his hand up the back of your t shirt, stroking softly at your skin. His other hand rubs up your thigh. You shiver, feeling his delicate touches send bolts of arousal through you, face flushing. Thinking of reprimanding him for being so forward at school, you turn your head to face him. His eyes are dark, smile almost villainous. You can't risk telling him off lest a wanton moan escape your lips, especially when he looks that hot.
Getting out of Eddie's lap, you pull him by the wrist out of the cafeteria, eliciting cat calls and wolf whistles from your friends. Yanking him outside, you pout at him.
"Eddie you can't do that to me at school."
"I'm sorry." He kisses your cheek, then your jaw, then your throat. "I missed you."
You laugh at that. "It's been like 24 hours!"
He keeps pressing kisses to your neck, hand stroking at your waist. "Actually," in between kisses, "its more like 30. Torture."
"Eddie, Jesus." Just the small amount of attention to your neck and side has your body buzzing with warmth.
Eddie pulls away, hands in the air.
"Sorry sorry sorry, you're just, you're perfect. You, do things to me. I just want to eat you up or something, I don't know." He laughs, hand stroking the back of his neck.
You smile shyly at him, "you already did."
Eddie's face turns pink, but he flashes a devilish grin all the same.
"Can I take you out? We could go grab some burgers on Friday or something? Maybe go back to mine afterwards?"
"That sounds real nice Eddie." You peck him on the cheek.
"So, ready to go back inside and face the hoard?"
"Sure." He takes your hand in his and you both walk back inside, lovesick smiles plastered on your faces.
********************
When Friday night rolls around, Eddie comes to yours to pick you up. When you open the door he's practically vibrating with excitement.
"Hey sweetheart!" He goes to kiss you full on the mouth; you turn your head so he only manages to graze your cheek with his lips. Looking confused, you nod your head over your shoulder. As if on cue, your mom pops her head out of the kitchen.
"Ah, this is must be Eddie, pleasure to meet you."
"Pleasures all mine Mrs y/l/n." He holds his arm out, and your mom shakes his hand.
"Ok, ok," you say, slinging your bag on your shoulder, "you met him, he's not an axe murderer, we're leaving now." And you push Eddie through the door.
"Ok bye sweetie have fun!"
You grab Eddie by the arm and pull him towards his van.
"Woah sweetheart no need to rip my arm out the socket!"
"There is unless you want to deal with my Dad."
"Oh ok shit lets move" and he sprints dramatically to his van. You shake your head and jog after him, your skirt flapping at your knees.
Once he starts driving, he only moves about 50 feet then stops.
"What are you-"
"Shhh" he whispers, putting his finger to your lips. Eyes darting around, he looks like a mad man.
"I think the coast is clear." Grabbing your face he kisses you full on the lips. It's sloppy and loud, a caricature of a kiss. You laugh into him, pulling away from his antics.
"You're an idiot Eddie."
"Yeah, and you like me." He says right back in a sing song voice. He sticks his tongue out at you then starts driving again. Eventually, you pull to a stop at a local diner.
"I hope this is okay, I mean its nothing fancy, but the food is-"
"It's great Eddie." Patting his hand, reassuring him.
Gesturing to your bag you ask, "can I leave this in the back?"
"Sure. Erm, why'd bring it if you don't need it?" Tilting his head toward you with the question.
"It's just my overnight bag."
Eddie's hands fly to his face and his eyes practically roll to the back of his head.
"Holy shit sweetheart you gonna stay?"
"Yeah, I mean, I thought that's what you meant when you said we'll go back to yours? I mean if it's okay, I already asked my mom."
"Let me think... Er, hell yeah?" Reaching to hold the back of your head he plants another kiss to your mouth. This time it's sensual, all soft lips and softer tongue. His other hand holds your jaw, stroking your chin with his thumb. A wave of silken pleasure glides through you as you moan into him, your hands grabbing onto his t shirt to anchor you to this realm. Without it you fear you could float away, lost in his kiss.
He pulls away whilst you stare at him glassy eyed, utterly smitten.
"So, back to mine yeah?" You giggle at his eagerness, sparking you out of your dreamlike state.
"Eddie, I think we need to at least eat something."
"Okay okay, you win let's go."
When you walk into the diner you fear you may already have a problem. There's a jukebox playing tinny music in the corner, plates are rattling, a couple are bickering at the counter, the lights are too bright. It's a lot to take in all at once. You feel your breath hitch, mild panic tensing your muscles.
Eddie moves you to a booth, which helps but not entirely. He's chatting, talking about what happened a couple of nights ago in the D&D campaign. Giving clipped answers in return, you try to calm and centre yourself but it doesn't seem to be working.
A glass breaks somewhere, the shattering noise making you flinch. Staring at Eddie with wide eyes, he frowns and strokes your hand. Without meaning to, you recoil at the touch.
"Are you ok? What's wrong?" He asks, concern coating his words thickly.
You want to say a hundred things, a thousand things. You want to tell him the lights are too bright and the noise is too much and you can't think clearly. That you can't focus on his touch when there's so much going on. You want to say you're not a freak for feeling like this even if you believe that you are. You want to tell him not to run away, not to leave you, because you do want him to touch you, it's just all too much.
Nothing of the sort can make it past the lump in your throat. Staring at him, eyes pleading for mercy, for understanding, all you struggle out is "I- I can't..."
Frustrated tears form in the creases of your eyes and you wipe them away angrily.
"Hey, woah don't cry sweetheart! What can I do? Do you want to leave?" He reaches over to touch you again but stops himself in time.
You nod pathetically, more tears forming.
You're ruining everything.
Eddie gets up and leads you out the diner, arms herding you, wanting to provide comfort but desperately attempting not to touch you.
He opens the door for you and you make your way into his van, feeling a little better now you're somewhere safe. Taking deep breaths, you try to calm down.
"Was it too much?" Eddie's voice is soft, quiet, as if he's afraid to break you with it. You can't risk looking at him, you'll cry again, so you simply nod.
"Are you still hungry?" Another nod.
"You know what you want?" This time you do turn to look at him, eyes a bit wild, trying to tell him telepathically that there's no way in hell your brain can make a decision right now.
Eddie understands.
"Tell you what sweetheart, their cheeseburgers are amazing, I'll get us some, and a milkshake. I'll be right back. You okay waiting here?"
Smiling weakly, you reach over and squeeze his hand. He squeezes right back, looking at you with the softest eyes.
While you wait for his return, you take your time looking around the inside of the van. You touch the pile of tapes he has, looking at them one by one. Fingers trail across the dashboard, moving a small amount of dust, feeling the bumpy surface beneath your fingertips. The smell helps. There's an ancient air freshener hanging from the rear view mirror but it must be dead, because all you can smell is cigarettes, weed and Eddie. The fragrance engulfs you, tells you you're safe. Grounds you.
Upon his return, he hands you the food and the biggest milkshake you think you've ever seen in your life.
"Jesus Eddie that's huge."
He looks over and sees you holding the milkshake.
"Impressive isn't it?" He smirks and winks at you. Blushing you turn away, trying not to think of what he's implying.
Eddie drives for around ten minutes or so, until he finds a dirt track hidden by trees. Reversing into it and stopping, he helps you out the front of the van and opens the back doors. After putting a musty blanket down for you both to sit on, you take a seat, food and milkshake between you.
You sit relatively quietly, though there's some hushed conversation between you. Staring out at the trees and the sunlight dappled through them, it's beautiful.
The burger is surprisingly good, though the fries are a little cold now. The milkshake is delicious, chocolate flavoured with milk and ice cream, and you share it between you.
You pass him the last of the milkshake.
"I cant have any more of that, I'll explode." He says.
"Just take it away from me, save me from myself."
He chuckles and takes it away, putting it in a bag with the rest of the trash.
"You feeling better now sweetheart?"
"Yeah, tons." Pausing for a second, you blurt out "I'm really sorry!"
"Hey, it's okay." He leans forward, and stops. "er, can I touch you now?"
You climb into his lap, arms around his neck.
"Okay I'll take that as a yes." He holds you close as you try and explain.
"It's just too much, I couldn't deal with it, and when that happens it's hard to speak. I'm awful at making decisions when I'm like that. I didn't want to ruin our date."
"Hey, nothings ruined." He strokes your back. "I think you improved it, this is nicer than some diner!" Kissing you on the forehead he says "thank you."
"For what?"
"Letting me take care of you."
You stare back into his calming eyes, still laced with concern. You've never wanted to say 'I love you' more than in this moment. Knowing it's too soon, and you don't want to frighten him away, you settle for planting a soft kiss to his lips.
********************
An hour later you're both in Eddie's room, listening to music, your legs draped over his. You're passing a joint back and forth, enjoying each other's company. He hasn't stopped touching you the entire time.
Eddie's stroking you, fingers whispering across your skin, tracing your bare leg, over and over. You feel peaceful, even though every movement was making you hum with desire.
"You really can't help it can you?" You smile kindly at Eddie.
"Help what sweetheart?"
"Touching me." Your smile growing wider.
"Oh I'm sorry, I suppose I can't-" he moves to shift position away from you, but you grab his hand.
"Please don't stop."
The smile that creeps across his face is simply diabolical.
His hands make their way back to your thighs, stroking gently, higher and higher. Your skirt gets bunched up almost to your waist as he continues to move up your leg.
You wiggle in place, carnal desire building up in you. Surely he could feel the heat that was pouring from between your thighs?
Eddie gets up and kneels between your legs. You look at him, biting your lip, unable to stop the feeling of nerves and excitement bubbling in your stomach. He strokes your knees, head tilted to the side.
"You okay princess?"
You flush, nodding at him.
"Are you sure? I mean, I don't want to rush you-"
You look him in the eye and pull your tank top over your head. Laying there in front of him, skirt hiked up displaying your black panties, matching bra barely covering your breasts. You unbutton your skirt, slip it off and toss it to the floor.
"Holy hell." Eddie stares at you for a while, hands compulsively stroking your knee.
Eddie slowly pulls his t shirt over his head. You'd seen him shirtless, less than a week ago, but this seems different. Serious. His lithe, pale body, such a stark contrast to his tattoos, was kneeling right before you. Bare chested apart from his guitar pick necklace.
"You're really hot." The words come unbidden, spill words falling from your mouth.
Eddie laughs "you're kidding right? Have you seen you? You're fucking perfect sweetheart."
He leans over you and kisses you on the lips, so so softly. His lips are velvety smooth, crushing into yours. You both open your mouths to each other. Tongues pressing heat into each other, your bodies mimicking that action, skin rushing against skin.
Eddie's hand moves to palm your breast over your bra and you gasp loudly at the sensation. You can feel him smiling into the kiss when he pulls the cup of your bra down and runs his finger across your nipple.
You flounder, moving your hand shakily behind you to unclip your bra, letting it fall.
Eddie's face is glowing, blush reaching the tips of his ears. He bends down and takes your nipple into his mouth, running his tongue around in circles. He releases your nipple with a wet noise.
"Oh God, Eddie."
Smug smile spreading across his face, he takes your nipple back into his mouth and sucks, teasing the other in his rough fingertips. The feeling makes you moan audibly. There's a heavy, tight feeling of arousal sitting deep in your chest. You want to touch him. You need to touch him. There's no way you can show him how good he makes you feel but you damn well want to try.
"Eddie." Hands shakily drifting to his belt, "can I? Touch you?"
"Holy shit yes please." You giggle as he lays down next to you, fumbling with his belt. He pulls his jeans and boxers off in one go erratically, flinging them across the room.
Fucking hell.
You're staring, you can't help it. Never having seen one in real life, it's kind of intimidating. It almost looks painful, rock hard and throbbing, nearing purple at the tip.
You scoot right next to him, bare skin touching, laying on your side, fingers ghosting down Eddie's chest, leaving goose bumps in their wake.
What if he doesn't like it? What if it's obvious I don't know what I'm doing?
"Sweetheart you good?" He holds your nerve stricken hand in his, stilling your movements.
"Yeah, I mean, I've never, done this before" you mumble shyly into his chest.
"Hey, don't worry about it," he kisses you on the forehead, cupping your hand in his and brings it down, down, over the course hair on his lower stomach and onto his pulsing cock.
Eddie hisses as his guides your hand into a fist, moving it gently up and down. The skin is so soft, warm silk, moving with your hand against his hardness. You stroke him tentatively, getting used to the thought of it in your hands.
He moves your hand away and you pout for a second thinking you did something wrong, until he brings it up to his mouth and licks a long, wet stripe with his tongue over your palm and fingers. Your thighs clench, the lewd gesture taking your breath away. You look up at him and he is grinning wickedly. He holds your own hand out to you.
"Spit."
You raise your eyebrows but do as he asks. When it lands in your hand you look at him to see if that was alright, but judging by his face it was more than okay. Eddie's eyes are hooded, biting his bottom lip, cheeks flushed.
He brings your hand back down to his hard member and you form a fist, beginning to move it up and down, slick spit letting you glide easily over him.
"Fuck, baby just like that."
Spurred on by his words, you grip a little tighter, move a little faster. Eddie makes the prettiest sounds, moaning, bucking into your hand.
"Shit that's, that's really good, fuck."
His other arm is around you, hand snaking into the back of your underwear to cup your ass. You keep fisting him, looking at the way your hand bounces up and down his dick, watching pre cum dribble out the top and onto your fingers. You're drenched in your own spit and his, droplets are flicking onto his lower stomach.
"Baby, you're gonna, Jesus, you have to stop, you're gonna make me cum."
You speed up at that, turning your head to look at his face. He's so gorgeous like this, red faced and desperate.
"Please Eddie I want you to, please, I want to make you cum."
Your arm burning with exertion, you squeeze his length and fuck him with your hand, faster, squeezing your thighs together, impossibly turned on by him crumbling to your touch. Suddenly you can feel him twitching, dick incredibly hard. He's grabbing your ass firmly with his hand; you watch as his abs contract and he releases over his stomach with a high pitched moan, nearly convulsing.
"Jesus H. Christ. Princess, that was. Fuck."
Eddie's panting, longing to catch his breath. He presses wet kisses into your forehead.
"I take it that was good then?" You ask coyly.
Eddie hums in response.
"Could you, er, help me out princess?" Gesturing to the mess you helped to make on his stomach.
You look around, finding a box of tissues and handing it to him. The second he's cleaned up he grabs you by the ankles and pulls you bodily towards him making you squeal in surprise.
"Your turn." Then he's assaulting your neck with kisses. You giggle, until he slows down, actions becoming less comical, more loving. His teeth graze your neck and the sudden feeling makes you moan, sending a shiver down your side.
His mouths descends to your chest, taking your nipple in your mouth whilst his hands find their way to your underwear, stroking your clothed clit. You cry out at the dual sensation.
He pings the hem of your panties against your skin lightly. "Can I take these off?"
"Yeah," you manage to say, voice smaller than you meant it to be.
He slowly peels them down your legs and off. Sitting back on his knees between your legs he runs rough hands over the tops of your thighs, causing you to quiver.
Bending down, he presses kisses to the insides of your thighs, sprinkling slivers of sensation over you. Whining, your back arches, the light kisses stirring your stomach. You can feel Eddie's breath on your clit.
"Hey sweetheart, you miss me? I missed you."
"Eddie are you seriously taking to-"
Eddie interrupts you, "darling I'm tryin' to have a conversation here."
"Eddie!" You look down at him, laughing at his bare faced cheek.
He smiles and licks a long, languid stripe up the length of your pussy, never breaking eye contact. The noise you make is barely human. He wraps his lips around your clit and sucks softly.
"Fucking Hell, Eddie!"
You moan at the contact, it sends volts through your core. He pushes a finger deep into your cunt. It's like nothing you'd felt before; you'd pleasured yourself by your own hands before but it felt nothing like this. His movements were so sure, his finger so thick. He slipped another finger in and curled them and you swore you were about to black out. It was just so intense. You felt your cunt clench around him.
"Eddie, oh my God."
"Shit baby you gonna cum? Please, cum for me."
A low, throaty moan breaks from your mouth as you feel your orgasm being yanked from you, pulled by his fingertips. The feeling keeps coming, waves upon waves of pleasure. He's pulling everything you have from you until your quivering and writhing beneath him begging him to stop.
You're sure you must have fainted, because the next thing you know Eddie's hovering over you, peppering delicate kisses to your cheeks, lips, forehead, nose.
"Hey." You smile shyly at him.
"She's back! You okay baby?"
"Hmmm I'll say." You pull him close so he falls on top of you, kissing him full on the lips, tongue exploring.
Both your naked bodies are pressed tight against each other, you feel the heat radiating off of him. His firm member, already hard again, was pressing against your heat. Stroking his back with your palm you pull him closer, closer, wanting to feel nothing but Eddie.
He breaks the kiss, nudging his nose with yours, his hair tickling your face.
'Sweetheart, do you... are you ready?"
It doesn't take a genius to work out what he's asking. Honestly, you were ready. You had been ready ever since those deep brown eyes had sought yours.
"I'm ready. I want you Eddie." You share another long, lazy kiss. He grins at you, flashing that brilliant smile. Tears threatened to spill from your eyes at the sheer joy on his face, mirroring the joy in your heart.
Eddie gets up to reach his bedside table and grabs a rubber, pulling it from its packet and rolling it down his length. He strokes himself a couple of times, hissing at the touch, and turns back to face you, climbing between your open legs.
Biting your lip, you look at him. Pale skin glowing in the light, firm beautiful body glistening, a slight sheen of sweat to his skin. His hair looks wilder than normal, face breaking out in an incessant grin. He looks like an angel. He looks like a demon. He was either your saviour, or your damnation. You didn't care, you wanted him, only him.
He pushes his hardened cock against your pussy; it grazes your clit making you groan.
"Sweetheart, if it's too much, just tell me and I'll stop, okay?"
His hand strokes your jaw as you stare into his eyes, lost in them.
"I'm ready, Eddie please-" the rest of your sentence turns into a cry of pain and pleasure. Eddie pushes his full length into you, stretching you. The pain is sharp to begin with, but it quickly dulls. He lays fully on top of you and you wrap your arms and legs around him tightly. Throbbing pulse between your legs, your heat reminding you of the burning desire there, that he's caused. You move your hand into his hair, the other planting firm strokes over the expanse of his bare back. The skin to skin contact is incredible, it's decadent; nothing you've ever felt before.
Eddie lifts his head enough so his forehead is touching yours; burning eyes meet. You stare, transfixed by his gaze, when he starts slowly pumping in and out of you.
Your forms are twisting together until you don't know where you end and he begins. He picks up his idle pace, hand running down your side to weave between your back and the mattress, the other holding your shoulder in a tight grip. You swear you can feel every bump and vein on his impressive length, every drag of his cock sending a ripple of yearning through your nerves.
You push against him, hips rolling to meet his thrusts. Moans are streaming out of your mouth, like a dam had burst and there was nothing to stop them any more. You had no filter, there was only this incredible fullness, this feeling of Eddie in every pore of your skin.
Locking lips with yours, Eddie pushes into you harder, you both moan wantonly into each other mouths, passion unconfined, chasing ecstasy. You break away, wanting to tell him he's making you cum but all that comes out is a broken near scream of his name. The feeling is immense, all encompassing, like Eddie's arms around you. It ebbs and flows through you; tingling warmth flowing out of your core, rivulets of pleasure wash over your skin as the throb of your own heartbeat takes over your contracting heat.
Eddie whimpers, high pitched and long, thrusts stammering until he releases.
You kiss, and kiss, and kiss again. You don't know who started giggling first, but pretty soon you are both laughing, the joy of the moment spilling out. He leans up on his elbow, free hand coming to cradle yours.
"You okay sweetheart?" Kissing the tip of your nose.
"Yeah, that was, wow." You squeeze his hand.
Nerves suddenly take over you. "Was that, okay for you?"
Eddie's grin lights up his whole face.
"Princess, that was probably the best thing that's ever happened to me."
When he pulls out you whine, over stimulated. When he's pulling the condom off and tying it you grab the comforter and wiggle under it.
Eddie joins you, arms and legs tangling, your face pressed to his chest.
"You wanna smoke sweetheart?"
"In a bit. I just want you."
"Give me twenty minutes and you can have round two."
Laughing at him you push him playfully.
"Eddie we've got all night." Grinning into his chest, being held in his arms, it was the most loved you think you've ever felt.

Unconventional Ice Breakers and Equally Unconventional Comfort Methods
Eddie Munson x Introvert!ND!Reader
SFW; angsty to fluffy, lots of comfort, new friends to lovers energy, reader has ADHD + Autism
Words: 7883 (oops- jesusfuck- 💀)
Summary: After moving back to your hometown of Hawkins, Indiana, you find yourself connecting with a former classmate of yours that you didn't get to talk to during your time at Hawkins High. As you two come to realize how much you have in common, you open up to him about being a college dropout. In classic Eddie Munson fashion, he seeks to cheer you up and encourages you not to be ashamed.
Warnings: Non-graphic description of past depression + su*c*dal feelings (Though there's nothing explicitly detailed, please do not read if it might trigger you. Your wellbeing comes before a story on tumblr), mild diss*ciation, w33d usage is mentioned by both reader and Eddie (please skip if that makes you uncomfortable. There will be plenty of Eddie content that doesn't mention w33d), fear of failure, self doubt and shame, lots of cussing (as per usual), Eddie being his obnoxious dramatic self <3, fluffy tickles (this is a tickle fic after all which is really no surprise on this blog AHHSHDHF /lh) and lots of comfort, not canon-compliant
DISCLAIMER: The reader in this story is the same age as Eddie and has a mullet hairstyle, but it is neverspecified that their hair is a specific texture or type (being inclusive of fellow Black fic readers is my top priority) It's whatever style of mullet you want it to be. Hell, it could even be a wig! However you want it to look, is how it looks. All of the reader's experiences are inspired by my own experiences as an ND person (and my personal experience being a college dropout, though I am NOT explicitly telling my personal story here). Not everyone who's ND acts how the reader in this story acts. This story is not meant to romanticize mental health struggles, nor make light of how people find ways to stay afloat in the midst of them. (As someone who's been through my own mental health battles, my only hope is that people can find comfort in this story and be reminded that there's a calm after the storm). Also, I'm still not as familiarized with D&D as I want to be (my introvert self needs to find a group to play with), so in this fic, just envision Eddie is acting like he's straight out of a cheesy 80s fantasy movie when his theatrics jump out later in the fic, because he would absolutely watch those films.
*Spoilers for Stranger Things 4 (both volumes) under the cut*
You'd been standing frozen as you stared at the pathway that led to the front door of your childhood home, holding the last box of your valuables, yet to be carried inside. The house had received a fresh coat of paint, soft yellow in color, and in the window, you could catch a glimpse of the banner your loved ones had hung up in the living room.
~WELCOME HOME!~
the banner read, but you didn't feel welcome... The idea of that final trek up to the steps, felt akin to preparing to take the walk of shame. It was a shame you couldn't shake from your head. Despite your family being more than understanding, despite them, in a time where being misunderstood was running rampant like a plague, the shame you felt, the shame your mind haunted you with, would not shake.
The ringing in your ears, brought about by the complete silence that surrounded you, seemed so loud. It was so loud... so loud that you didn't even hear the rumbling engine of the van that had stopped on the street right behind you. As your eyes continued to stare forward, defocusing in the midst of your overthinking, you hadn't heard him calling out to you with concern lacing his voice.
The voice, now louder and closer, snapped you from your thoughts. "Hellooooo? Earth to strangerrrr!" You let out a shriek, body jumping violently before you whipped around and jumped a second time from how close he was, the box nearly slipping from your grip.
Before it could fall, another pair of hands were quick to steady it. You gazed at them, his fingertips nearly touching yours, and concluded that the silver rings that adorned them, along with the chain bracelet on one wrist and a watch on the other, seemed oddly familiar.
"I got you- it! I- got it- the box. Uh... Sorry about the scare. You were standing still an awwwfully long time. Are you good?"
"Y-Yeah... I-I'm... I'm okay..." The KISS shirt he was wearing caught your eye, though it was the black leather jacket and denim battle vest you knew you'd seen before. When you looked up at him to say thank you, the realization finally dawned on you. After the words left your lips, you were silent for a few seconds, gathering the courage to look into his eyes before you spoke again. "Eddie...? Eddie Munson, r-right...?"
Eddie's brows furrowed curiously, initially wondering how you knew his name. The gears stopped turning in his head and he let out a gasp that startled you briefly. He raised his hand with his finger already pointed. "Wait a minute... Do my eyes deceive me, or am I currently face-to-face with Y/N 'The Wallflower' L/N, the most brilliant mind, in the Hawkins class of '84, who's sporting a mullet~?"
"W-Wallflower!? I... Is that what people called me...?"
Eddie chuckled and shook his head. "Noho! Nooooo~ I never heard anyone call you that, don't worry. I-I didn't mean that as a bad thing, promise. You were just... as quiet as a church mouse in school, and I- maybe heard you talk loudly like- once, so..." he shrugged, making sure you had a steady hold on the box before he crossed his arms and let his hands rest beneath his shoulders.
"...the mullet does look nice. Suits you. A lot, actually."
"Thank you." You hummed in acknowledgement, setting the box down beside you, rocking back and forth on your heels as you tried to think of what to say. The silence was painfully awkward, and your often very quiet neighborhood did little to ease the tension.
Eddie opted to make another attempt at breaking the ice. "Have we- ever actually spoken to each other? Like, before now?"
"I..." you knit your brows as you pondered. You couldn't think back to a single time you two had spoken, and Eddie, who already knew the answer, was chuckling. "N-No... We dihidn't! Wait! Hohow?"
"Sahahame age, same grade, eheven had quite a few classes together, buhut we never had a conversation. Funny, isn't it?" He smiled impishly and leaned a little closer, his expression growing serious and his voice lowering in volume. "Were you afraid of me~?"
Were you? Had you been? Was he mad? Annoyed? The question gave you butterflies, and you quickly shook your head in a slight panic, worried he was truly upset with you as you struggled to read his tone. "What? No! I... I wasn't afraid, I just..." Your words trailed off upon seeing that he was laughing again.
"IhIhI'm just teasing you~"
You could feel your face growing a little warm from embarrassment, eyes darting down to the pavement as you tugged on your sleeves. "Right... right... Sorry..."
Eddie tilted his head sideways as he waited for you to look up again, offering you a warm and reassuring smile, his hair beginning to fall in front of his face. You couldn't help but return it, before looking down at the box on the ground. "You back in town to stay? Or are you just visiting?"
The shame that had been churning in your stomach several minutes before, that for a short amount of time, lay dormant, bubbled up to the front of your mind again. "I... Um... I'm back in town to stay..." You were hoping he didn't ask you to elaborate further. Much to your relief, he didn't.
"Wellll, would you maybe... wanna catch up, or something? At some point? Y'know? IhI say catch up, when really we'd finally be getting acquainted. Maybe we can actually get to know each other?"
Eddie's question caught you off guard, and in the process, briefly interrupted your shame, and as your body responded to the sudden joy, you began to bounce on your heels. "Yeah! I-I'd uh... I'd like that, actually."
Your eyes seemed as though they'd lit up when Eddie caught a glimpse of them. He'd seen you happy stim before when you were in school together, but he'd never seen the endearing sight so vividly. His smile morphed into a grin and he nodded.
"Cool! Alright!" He clapped before pointing at you as he began to move backward toward his van, cussing when he nearly lost his balance upon stepping off the curb. "What do you say- SHIT! What do you say, we go grab some food tomorrow or something? I could pick you up. Maybe around four?"
"F-Four... yeah... Sounds like a plan!" You gave a rather awkward thumbs up, and Eddie laughed as he returned the gesture from his spot in the front seat, before giving a quick wave as he began to drive off. As your brain started to catch up with everything that had just happened, you blinked a few times, and took a breath before picking up the box.
You can do this... Last box... Your family's excited to see you... They're still proud of you... You're hanging out with someone tomorrow... You can do this... No shame... no shame...
Those words echoed in your head repeatedly. With one final inhale and exhale, you walked up the concrete pathway, and up your front steps.
***
Your eyes felt heavy as you attempted to talk yourself out of bed the following morning. You'd been surprised with your favorite dinner and dessert combo the previous night, which you accepted with hesitance. Not even your comfort foods could take your mind off of the impact of what you saw as your biggest failure. The sudden ringing of your morning alarm, made you violently flinch and scramble to hit the snooze. You'd woken up a mere three minutes before it had been set to go off.
Throughout the day, you felt as though you were losing yourself. It was as if your mind lagged behind your body. All you could think about, as you looked in the mirror and didn't quite see yourself looking back at you, was one word... failure... As time continued to tick by, you silently got ready, since somehow, you'd done nothing but blink and suddenly four in the afternoon was fast approaching. A soft, collared sweater was your top of choice, with comfy shorts of a soothing fabric.
"So, I ran into Wayne Munson at the market the other day." A family member said from the kitchen as you slowly put your shoes on. "Y/N, didn't you go to school with his nephew, honey?"
At first, the question went through one ringing ear and out the other, but after a few seconds, you registered the statement.
"Y-Yeah... yeah... Um... I'm hanging out with Eddie today."
"Oh? Old school friends catchin' up? IhI'm not teasing, I'm genuinely curious."
You finished tying your shoes and stood up to grab your bag, settling your building anxiety by pinching the fabric of your sweater sleeve between two fingers. "We never actually spoke in high school... S-So, I guess you'd call it new friends getting to know each other... right?"
"I'd say so," your relative said with a smile on her face. "You put that rock I gave you back in your bag, right? The... what was it called...? Sensory rock?
"I got it before I came back downstairs. Thank you for the reminder." Your body jolted with a burst of adrenaline upon hearing the knock at the door. It hadn't been loud, or obnoxious, but your hypersensitivity was in full swing and it left you jumpy.
Eddie was all smiles when you opened the door, and gave a little wave with his hand as he greeted you. "Hihi. Ready to go?" The quiet thumping of your younger cousin running to the door had given you time to brace for them bumping into your leg.
"Mama! Are you and the rest of the grownups aware that a cute guy with funny hair is taking Y/N out?"
Eddie's brows knit together, but he began to chuckle. "Fuhunny hair?"
"They know! And I am a grownup!" You exclaimed quickly, shaking your cousin off of your leg and tugging at your sleeve as you moved to step outside with your former classmate.
An elderly family member guffawed from the living room, which travelled down the tall ceilings of the hallway. "Have fun, baby! Make sure Eddie says hello to his Uncle Wayne for me!"
"He knows my uncle?"
The answer to Eddie's question came seconds after he'd asked it far too quietly for anyone except you to have possibly heard him. "From work!"
"IhI will, love you all, bye!"
"You're gonna dip without introducing him?" Oh boy. You gave Eddie an apologetic look, but he only grinned as your little cousin led him to say hello to the rest of the house. You knew your family wasn't uptight or judgmental, nor did they buy into Satanic Panic, but still, your worries weren't eased right away. When Eddie ended up with an invitation to Friday's dinner and family game night, you knew right then and there that you'd had nothing to worry about after all.
Thirty minutes passed by, and when you'd actually stepped out the door to walk to Eddie's van, you took a deep breath. "I'm so sorry..."
"Don't be! Dohon't be. Your family's really kind." Eddie was smiling bright as could be, taking energetic and funky little strides toward the passenger side of the van, which he held open for you, offering his hand for support as you stepped inside.
"Thank you."
"My pleasure." Eddie hopped into the driver's side, resting his hand on the wheel. "So... This hangout is completely zero pressure and whatever you want to do, so... if you wanted to eat in somewhere, we could do that. If you want to get food to-go and just eat it wherever, I'm down."
The van was quiet as you pondered. "Um... C-Could we... Take our food to go...? And just be somewhere with less people...?"
"Absolutely, we can. You don't mind listening to Black Sabbath on the way, do you?"
Eddie's question had you smiling involuntarily, wrists shaking with suppressed joy. "Orchid is my fahavorite song."
His eyes widened, before his brow furrowed, head tilting in your direction, starting the car and pulling out a Black Sabbath cassette tape which he briefly fiddled with. "Are you telling me that not only is the Hawkins Wallflower sporting a mullet, but they're also a metalhead!?"
"Y-Yes...? Is that... a bad thing...?"
"No! No. IhIt's... it's wihihicked, actually! What uh, what other bands do you listen to?"
The entire time you were driving to get food, Eddie listened eagerly as you info-dumped about all the metal bands you listened to, and at one point, the two of you were head banging to Detroit Rock City, the music far too loud in your ears to be bothered by an elderly couple gaping in horror in the car next to yours.
Another half hour passed by after that, and as you held your food in your hands, the two of you trekked through the woods, venturing to your hangout spot of choice, Skull Rock. It was quiet enough, and oddly peaceful despite its eeriness. Despite the many moments of joy in the evening thus far had helped to distract you from your woes, they were still sitting at the back of your head. The ringing in your ears was still there. The pressures you felt were subconsciously building.
Eddie had been telling you about one of his concert experiences when the ringing became worse. He saw the way your stimming had changed, and recognized it as a sign of stress, one he'd noticed when your class was taking tests or if the room became too noisy.
"Hey. Y/N... are you alright?" It felt as though you were hearing Eddie from several feet away, instead of right next to him. You fiddled with your sensory rock, which sat in your open bag, and took a few seconds to ground yourself.
"Um... Y-Yeah... just... I know we're far from them now but... I was just, overwhelmed by big groups of people today... I-Including my family... I know that's mean to say..."
"Wehell, they love you, and you've definitely made them proud. They'll survive if you need a breather from thehem. I promise."
Made them proud... You didn't feel that way... not one bit... and it was eating away at you now...
"IhI... I don't know about that..."
"Are you kidding me? I can see in their eyes how proud they are!"
"They shouldn't be, Eddie... They really shouldn't." You could feel the pressure in your chest growing heavier the longer the conversation carried on. It became too much. You couldn't skirt around your guilt and shame any longer.
"What could you have possibly done that would make you think your family shouldn't be proud of you-"
"I didn't graduate!" Your outburst was just as surprising to you as it was to Eddie. He'd almost never heard you raise your voice above an indoor speaking level in school. "I-I'm so sorry... I... I didn't graduate college, Eddie."
Eddie smiled in disbelief at the sorrow in your eyes. "Thahat's okay-"
"No... No it isn't. Th-That's... This isn't okay..." You saw Eddie tilt his head in your peripheral vision.
"Do you... wanna talk about it...? Y/N...?"
"It's... so much, Eddie. I don't want to burden you with this. I-I... I really don't..."
You wanted to keep the shame to yourself. You wanted to. But you couldn't...
"Y/N. If you need someone to ramble to, about anything that's on your mind, I'm here. I'm sittin' right here, and I'm not going anywhere." The air was near silent, save for the distant sounds of birds calling to each other in trees, and the crunching of the grass beneath your shoes when you rocked your heels.
"I don't know what happened, Eddie... I... I fell behind in everything... The more time passed, the more I... the more I just..." The tears you had been fighting to hold back, the tears you had been trying to will away, to dry up and disappear, finally fell, and poured out in long streams down your cheeks. "The more I... thought th-that... things would be better... if... if I was gone..."
You hugged your own arms tightly and closed your eyes, too ashamed to look up at your former classmate while your body rocked back and forth.
"Y/N-"
"I spent everyday, of college... more high than sober... Every... hour... that I was awake, I was smoking weed," You rambled, leg bouncing rapidly and body moving in distress automatically. "I'm not ashamed of it, please don't think that I am... I'm not against marijuana usage or anything... I just... I wish it hadn't taken being high all the time, just to keep me here. It was... it... it was the only thing that kept me floating, when all I wanted to do, was s-sink."
Eddie was silent as he looked at you. Never in a million years would he have guessed you went through something like that. You'd always been hyper-vigilant about doing well in school, at one point a teacher even suggested asking you to tutor him. He'd had no clue how to approach you. Neither of you had even spoken to each other at that time.
He'd seen the brightness in your eyes the day you graduated. A student with highest distinction, accepted into your dream college and hopeful about the future, now broken and in tears with your future feeling like a lost cause. You realized he'd been looking at you, and you hastily wiped your eyes with a hollow laugh. "S-Some star student I turned out to be, right...? I... I only made it halfway..."
"Y/N-"
"I-I've embarrassed myself enough, Eddie... I don't... I don't know why you wanted to get to know me... This... This is me... I'm a college dropout... All my potential... it... it was wasted... It is wasted..."
Eddie couldn't let you continue on. "Can I tell you what I've been doing since you graduated, Y/N?" He waited until you looked up at him before he spoke again, and even then, he was silent for a few moments, wondering if what he said would provide you any comfort at all.
"E-Eddie...?"
"I've still been trying to pass senior year..."
"What...?"
Eddie leaned closer to elaborate. "Yeah... I was held back again. I'm the last person, who'd ever judge you for being a college dropout. You have nothing to prove, Y/N. You're... you're brilliant, alright?"
"You're wrong, Eddie. That's wrong. I-I... I'm not."
"Yes, you are-"
Your words came out louder than you'd meant them to through your pained sobbing. "No, I'M NOT! I-I'm not... I'm just living proof that church mice and wallflowers don't make it anywhere..."
Eddie's heart sank even more upon hearing those words leave your mouth. He began to wonder if that nickname had only hurt you more. In your peripheral vision, despite your tears blurring your sight, you saw Eddie offering a hand. With a deep breath, you took hold of it and squeezed it.
"I'm sorry, Y/N."
"For what, Eddie...? You didn't do anything wrong... I'm the failure here..."
"No, no... You're the farthest from a failure someone can be. I never meant to discourage or hurt you with those nicknames. If I'm responsible for shaking your confidence at all today, I'm sorry. You've been through enough and... I made that worse-"
"No, you didn't, Eddie. I swear, you didn't. I've... just spent a long time trying to keep myself hidden. I didn't want to be seen. I didn't want to be judged." You sniffled and wiped your eyes. "I'm just really surprised... I didn't expect to be seen by anybody... I-I really didn't expect it when you asked me to hang out, because it meant that you saw me... A-And maybe that scared me a little bit... But, I really don't mind the nicknames."
"Are you sure, Y/N?"
You nodded firmly, before lowering your head. "I guess... if anything... I-I'm... I'm embarrassed that you ever had to see me like this, Eddie..."
"Are you fuckin' kidding me?" Eddie saw your eyes water and quickly assured you he wasn't mad at you. "Wh-What I'm trying to say is... damn it... Have you seen me, Y/N? I can't tell you how many times I've felt the way you feel... You're looking at the guy who's barely about to, maybe, finally pass senior year and graduate. The obnoxious nerdy 'freak' who carries the weed he deals in his fucking lunch box. You will never, ever, hear any kind of shame, from me, toward you... 'Kay...?"
"Eddie... don't... you don't have to..."
"I'm not gonna give you the chance to feel embarrassed about crying in front of me!" Eddie argued. "So, come on! What's it gonna take to get you smiling again? To get that little fucker known as 'shame,' to leave you alone for a while?"
"I-I don't kn-know..." you sniffled, staring down at the ground beneath you, tugging on your sweater sleeves. A fresh wave of tears fell from your eyes and you sobbed into your fabric-covered hands. "God! I-I'm *hic* such a crybaby!"
"Nononono, no, Y/N! You're not a crybaby. Y-You're... you're processing something heavy and... dammit. Please, don't be so hard on yourself."
Eddie was growing more distressed by the second over seeing you so unhappy. It wasn't usually so hard for him to help someone feel better. He'd become a natural at it; an expert, even. But, your mind was struggling to believe any of his words, and that worried him. He sat in front of you, mindful not to touch you in case it would make you uncomfortable, as he did his best to figure out how to support you.
"A hug? A stupid story? Give me something, please." Eddie moved closer, the panic in his voice evident as he tried to figure out how to make you feel better. Your sobs turned to quiet hiccups, but you struggled to think of something that could make you feel alright, and you silently shrugged, wiping your eyes. "Jokes? Funny voices? Stupid faces? Christ! I-I... I don't know what would help you, and I reallywant to help you... I don't want you to feel sad, Y/N. Shit... Tickling?"
He immediately noticed your breath hitch in your throat upon hearing his final idea, and he saw the faint hints of happy stimming in the way your body moved. Your eyes briefly shifted to meet his gaze, but as quickly as you'd looked at him, you looked away. "Hold on... what was that?"
"What? What w-was what...?"
"You know exactly fucking what~" Eddie pointed at you with a tiny smirk forming on his lips. "Are you ticklish, church mouse?"
"I... I-I don't kn-know!?" you stammered out, sniffling and wiping your eyes. "What d-does this have to do with- why did you- I... I'm not-"
"Ticklish~?"
His sudden utterance of the word caused a squeak to leave your mouth. "Stop saying it!"
"Why? Is it giving you butterflies or something?" Eddie's tone was growing increasingly playful in nature, and he stood up, holding his hands up cautiously and pointing at you, eyes widening. "Carefullll~ They say there's a terrifying presence out in these woods. An all powerful being... A magic user... who replenishes his power, with the sweet... sounds... of... laughter~!"
You jumped when he leaned forward, inhaling with a loud gasp and tucking your arms close to your chest, a giggle slipping out. "Eheddie!"
"Shh! He can hear you~" Eddie whispered, looking around as though he were expecting something to jump out. "Some folks even claim, that he can possess whatever living human being he desires, to carry out his bidding~"
"E-Eddie..."
"Something tells me he's been keeping a verrrry watchful eye... on a certain tearful hero, sitting juuuust beneath... Skulllll Rock~" When he suddenly turned to look at you, you couldn't help the stim that took over your hands, and you attempted to stay composed by once again tucking your arms close to you. He leaned closer again, crouching down so he was at eye level with you, and his voice became hushed and genuine in tone. "I'm not actually gonna do anything unless I have the alright from you. Okay?"
You bit your lip and pondered briefly. The shame was so trapped in your head, so heavy on your person, that you knew a major distraction was needed. Your brain needed to focus on something else. It needed to. With a deep breath, your leg bouncing rapidly, you looked up at him.
"I... I really need the distraction... You can... You can... you know... You have the alright from me..."
Eddie's eyes remained gazing at you, his expression seemingly stuck. You furrowed your brows curiously, tilting your head as you looked at your friend frozen in place. "Eddie...?"
All of a sudden, his eyes rolled back, he clutched his head with both hands, and keeled over with a roar, making you jump and shriek. "It's- GAHHH! He's... he's got me, Y/N! FUCKIN- CHRIST! Hurry! Run! Before he-" He let out a low and gravelly scream through grit teeth as he exaggeratedly writhed and kicked in the leaves on the ground. After a moment, his body was still, and his head whipped in your direction to look into your eyes with a blank stare, his lips having curled into a smirk. The expression on his face was nearing feral.
You felt your heart flutter and skip, still frozen where you sat. "Eddie...?" The moment he spoke, a wave of chills washed over your body.
"I'm afraid you're mistaken, Y/N~ Eddie Munson is now merely a vessel, for the being only ever before described, as nothing. but. a. myth. You, my adventurous wallflower, are now face-to-face... with the Evilllllll... Overlorrrrrd..." he slowly lifted his hands before teasingly wiggling his fingers in the air, "...of tickling!"
The loud squeak you let out had been completely involuntary. Your eyes widened when he took a couple steps toward you, feeling the nervous laughter bubbling in your throat and up to the roof of your mouth. He suddenly lurched forward, with his hands resting on his knees, making you shriek and stim with your legs, your hands covering your mouth to muffle the giggling that he'd startled out of you.
"I have one question for you to answer~ Since it is evident that you are doomed to laughter, I'll let you make this decision for me." Eddie stood back up, and slowly paced in front of you, hands clasped behind his back. "You can attempt the hero's journey; run, hide, or fight... It doesn't matter in the end, but you can try it~ Or, you can continue sitting still, like you are right now, and accept your fate, instead of prolonging the inevitable. Which do you choose?"
"W-Whahat!?"
"Try and run, timid adventurer, or surrender to your destiny. Which. Do. You. Choose~?"
It took a few seconds for you to decide, and even then, you weren't quite sure what you were doing, but you slowly stood up, and began to back away, the sound of the leaves and dirt only amplifying in your ears due to yours and Eddie's silence. "Well then~ A chase it shall be~"
An evil cackle tore its way from Eddie's chest and echoed in the trees, which sent you squealing and running to the other side of the rock. You noticed a lack of running noises in the dirt behind you, and turned back. Eddie wasn't anywhere to be seen.
"E-Eddie...?"
You let out a loud and shrill scream when Eddie jumped in front of you with a startling cackle, wrapping his arms around your waist and wrestling you to the ground.
"EDDIE! You don't play fair!"
"Oh on the contrary~ I did chase you. I just never told you how long or short the chase would be~" He gently took hold of your wrists, and slowly moved them to hover above the ground by the sides of your head. "Now then- play along- I shall cast a spell, and pin these hands, right by your head."
As he emphasized the word, he set your hands down, and, to play along, you kept them there. He was taking his act so seriously that you almost wanted to laugh then and there.
"As evil a being as I am, it's still vital that you're feeling comfortable. If you do not feel alright with me using my hands directly on your skin, I'll respect your wishes." Despite still acting in character, you knew he was reassuring you that he would not cross any of your boundaries.
With a bite of your lip, and a timid huff, you averted your eyes at first, but, to make sure Eddie knew that you weren't feeling pressured, that you were okay with the slightly more intimate affection, you met his eyes once more and answered, awkwardly attempting to tell a joke in your response. "I don't m-mind... It's okay. I-I'm... kihinda... kinda fahahated to l-laughter either wahAHAYYY!"
You couldn't help the nervous squeak when Eddie carefully moved his hands under your sweater, feeling his hands just centimeters away from your torso. "I hope you're prepared to laugh hysterically, you endearing little church mouse."
His pointer fingers began to trace slow, light patterns up and down the skin on your sides, making your nerves jolt, the giggly whimper that left your lips causing you to swear under your breath with mild embarrassment. The smile on his lips was growing wider, dimples and all.
"Mmph- hmhm... ohoho nohohoho! Pffft! Shihihit! ShihIHIHIT!"
"Something tells me that you've just realized you're far more ticklish than you thought you were, my helpless mortal~" His tone was low, the vocal fry in his voice only making him sound more menacing. "I wonder if I... Ah? Ahhhhhh? Uh huhhh~"
He'd begun to brush more of his fingers over the ticklish spots, a grin creeping onto his face as he kept them wiggling agonizingly slowly. A small yelp leapt from your throat in response to the ice cold sensation of the rings making your nerves jump and causing goosebumps to form.
Eddie chuckled mischievously, the sound of which had your ears tingling and growing hot. "Dohohon't laugh! Thehe r-rihings a-are f-fREHEEZING! Mhmph!"
"You can't hold in all of your giggles forever, you darling mortal. Oh~? Another squeak? You do realize, I've only just begun, yes? This overlord has a loooooot of mana to recharge~"
Just as you opened your mouth to retort Eddie's cheesy theatrics, the ticklish sensation grew fivefold.
"EheheheHEHEHEDDIEEHEEE!" A snort soon followed your loud cackle of laughter in response to Eddie spidering all of his fingers on the bare skin of your sides. Your shoulders pressed into the ground as your back arched, and you twisted your torso. "OHOHOH MYHYHY GAHAHAAWWWWD! *snort* SHIHIHIHIIIT! IHIHIHIT'S *hic* SOHO MUHUCH WOHOHORRRRRRRSE!"
"I'm afraid Eddie can't hear you, you giggly little mortal. Must I remind you, that he's been possessed by me~ And, the more you wiggle like a rabid earthworm, the worse it's gonna tickle~ Which is no issue for me, considering my magic replenishes eiiiiither wayyy~" How Eddie was taking his character so seriously, you had no clue. What you did know, is that your cheeks and ears were hotter than a flame, and your stomach had become a butterfly garden.
He snickered, watching fondly at how rapid your happy stimming had become. It was evident that you were trying your hardest not to clamp your arms down to your sides, as your arms twitched when Eddie moved to a particularly bad spot. "It seems that the ticklish mortal cannot withstand even a fraction of my attacks~ However, my spell doesn't appear to be strong enough to keep your hands piHIHINNED- HOHOLY SHIHIT! I was soho right~"
You'd let out a loud squeal and kicked your legs, unable to stop your hands from shooting down to instinctively hold onto Eddie's wrists as his thumbs dug into your hips. He watched you carefully, noting that you weren't actually trying to push his hands away, but you had tightened your grasp to bear with the sensation.
"NohoHOHOOOOAHAHAAAAA! *hic* STAHAAAAP!"
Eddie stopped instantly, though he grew briefly confused by the near sad expression that graced your face. Christ, you were adorable, and he couldn't stop thinking about that fact. "You okay...?"
"I-I... I d-didn't actually mean..." You were growing embarrassed by your own words, and you partially covered your face with your hand. "I-It... U-Um... Reflex... F-Force of habit... I... S-Sorry..."
Much to your surprise, Eddie gently moved your hand away, and back down, holding onto it a little longer before he let go just so he could see you stim by running your thumb over his rings again. "Y-You... uh... want me to keep going?" When you nodded, he began to smile.
"I-I'll... f-figure out h-how to... tell you when I-I really c-can't laugh anymore..." Your avoidance of simply saying 'When it tickles too much' did not go unnoticed by your now-smiling new friend, whom you gazed at nervously as you waited for him to say something.
A screech left your mouth when Eddie's thumbs suddenly began digging into your hips again, cackling obnoxiously and making you scream a second time, giggles spiking in pitch and intensity. "PFFFHEEEEEEEEEEE! SHIHIHIT SHIHIHIT SHIHIIIIIIIIT!"
"As per your request, my darling giggly hero, though I may be an evil overlord, in the interest of ensuring you don't laugh yourself to death, I'll give you a lifeline~" Eddie paused his hands, but kept them on your hips, and though unmoving, you still felt the sensations and couldn't keep from squirming. "If you want to save your friend, Eddie, from my possession spell, and free yourself from my clutches, all you have to do, is say 'tickler, be gone!'"
"W-Whahahat!?"
Eddie hummed before his fingers moved to hover above your belly, where your shirt had ridden up from all the moving. "Three little words~ I know you can do it~ It doesn't have to be now by any means, however." He lifted his pinkie finger, before setting it down and lifting the next, smirking at the way your torso twitched each time he drummed his fingers over your skin.
Once you had looked up at him again, he winked at you, before rapidly clawing at your belly and grinning over how much you were suddenly happy stimming with your body.
"NOHOHOHOT *snort* FAHAHAHAHAIR! NONONONOHOOOO!" You began taking sharp gasps of air between your laughter, hiccuping and squeaking with utter mirth. It took nearly a minute to calm down when Eddie eased up to let you breathe.
The stray hiccupy giggles that came out with after each inhale were an utterly darling sound to Eddie's ears. "I think it's time I give your poor sides and tummy a bit of a break~ I've still got quite a lot of mana to recover. Though, lucky for you, that stray symphony of mirth that continues on even when I'm not actively tickling you, can still be fed on~"
Eddie's eyes softened at the giggly whimper that his statement drew from you. Your hands were hyper with giddiness, a stark contrast to your body, which had become relatively still (save for the rising and falling of your belly) in the leaves and grass as you awaited Eddie's playful attack again. You twitched and squeaked every few seconds when the grass brushed your sides.
"Perhaps I should tell you a little bit about myself, you giggly mortal~ Would you care to hear a little tale about the Evil Overlord of Tickling?" He teasingly wiggled his fingers in the air to add dramatic flair to his words. Despite your initial squeak, you shyly inquired.
"Whahahat ahabout hihim?"
"For many millennia, long before you and my current vessel even existed, the Overlord has been a very misunderstood creature. He's watched, as the fables, the bedtime stories, twist and morph to make him sound meaner, and scarier." You saw the corners of Eddie's mouth falling downward despite his attempts to fight it. He stared at the ground, clasping his hands as he rested his elbows atop his knees. "He began to internalize it... he stopped disputing the rumors and judgement that came hand in hand with it. He saw himself, as an outcast... a freak... a monster..."
Your brows were knit as your mind began to read between the lines. "W-Wait..."
"...but what they didn't see, was the broken soul... not understanding why he was shunned by everyone else... They didn't see him fighting hard to make sure he didn't end up like his father... Didn't see him trying to prove himself, to everyone... by not giving up, when he didn't graduate the first time..."
"Eddie..."
"They also never saw, that his desire to bring mirth and merriment to those around him, came from a place of not knowing how he could have either of those things, for many years of his early life..." Eddie cleared his throat and wiped his eyes, taking a breath as he willed himself to say what he wished to. "And the one thing, he wouldn't let them, nor anyone else see, was that the moment his eyes landed upon the ethereal... mysterious, wallflower... sitting at his table in his freshman year English class, the Overlord felt his heart fluttering. And that flutter, lasted for days... weeks even... months..."
You began to sit up, palms planted firmly in the grass, eyes wide, as you'd fully realized what Eddie was truly trying to tell you. "Eddie...?" He glanced at you, and you jumped, but you outstretched your arm, and timorously offered him your hand.
Eddie took a deep breath and chuckled when you began stimming with his rings once more, even using his silver chain bracelet every so often. "When the Overlord reunited with that wallflower, a few years later, and finally got to talk to them, well... he realized, that the fluttering had never stopped."
You were too nervous to speak, so you gave his hand a quick squeeze with the most mild strength.
"The Overlord just wants his new friend to know, that their value, and their worth, should not ever be determined by their shortcomings. No matter how many times people may have told them, or how many times they may have told themself..."
"What if... what if it takes forever for the wallflower to believe that...?"
Eddie gave a soft smile and raised his brows before smirking at you cheekily. "I suppose that in the meantime, the Overlord will just have to make you giggle your troubles away~"
Your eyelids quickly lifted at those words, and you let out a loud squeal when he suddenly growled and wrapped his arms around your shins. "EHEHEDDIE! EDDIHIHIE! DOHOHON'T YOU DAHAHAHARE! EEEEE!" With a low stubborn grunt, you tried tugging one of your legs free and succeeded, but, it had been at the cost of one of your shoes, which Eddie tossed out of reach, leaving you with only a shin-high sock to protect from the playful attack.
"How many times must I tell you, mortal? 'Eddie' is currently occupied by an ancient tickling creature- GOTCHA!" He exclaimed, catching your ankle and locking it in his elbow with a triumphant guffaw. "WOAH! You kick me and that second shoe is coming off. IhI'm warning you~"
"Whyhyhyhyhyyy!" You half-heartedly tugged at your trapped ankle, one hand already happy stimming from the anticipation.
"Well, I was gonna go for your knees, but, uh... well, I'm not the one who yanked my own shoe off. Is it that bad a spot~?"
"IhI dohohon't kn-knohow!?" How convenient it was that seconds later, you did find out just how bad a spot it was. Eddie trailed one finger up your sock, eyes going wide when you let out a scream and snorted, slowly sinking back into the grass while your abdomen shook with hysterical giggles.
"So it appears the answer to that question was yes~ If one little trace along your foot through fabric is this bad? Well. That's just more laughter for me~"
"NononononoNONONOHOHO! OHOHOH MYHY GAHAHAWWWWDAHAHAHAAA!" It took mere seconds for you to be reduced to silent laughter when Eddie spidered all of his fingers along the bottom of your foot. You stomped your free foot on the ground, happy stimming in overdrive and hiccuping from your mirth. "EHEHEDDIE! *hic* IHIHI *hic* CAHAHAHAHAN'T!"
"Remember the spell if you need it, adventurer~" Eddie's sweet reminder had your face growing hot. "I must say though, I'd be quite content with tickling you to bits for the remainder of the day~"
"IhIhIt's sohohoho bahaHAHAaAaAD! IHIHIT'S SO BAHAHAHAD! IhIhIt TIHIHIHICKLES! AHAAAAAAA!" You let out a scream when he traced his fingers over the top of your foot.
"HOLY- Wohohoah~ Really~? It tickles~? I'm baaaarely spidering my fingers~ Are you sure it tickles, you adorable mortal~?"
You had been far too giggly to notice that Eddie'd released your ankle, only to turn himself toward you and lock your legs with his in record time. "H-Hehey- Wahahait- wahaHAHAaAaAIT! Nohohot thehehere- EHEDDIE!"
"Evil. Overlord. Of Tickling." Eddie made sure you could see he wasn't truly mad despite his grit teeth. "You're in trouble, my adventurous wallflower~"
He spider-crawled his fingers up your legs at an agonizingly slow pace, making your hands flap rapidly as you giggled nervously. Your legs were covered in goosebumps and they twitched from the ticklish trailing. The moment his nails brushed against the skin on your thighs, right above the inner sides of your knees, your stomach turned with butterflies and your squeak echoed.
"Oh? Hmmm? UH HUHHHHH~!" Eddie chuckled darkly before grinning impishly over your reaction to the tickling. Your laughter was the most intense he'd ever heard, and for a split second, he was worried you might run out of air.
"OKAHAHAHAY!" You cried after a few seconds. "SHIHIHIHIT! *hic* OKAYOKAY! *snort* TIHIHICKLER BE GOHOHONNNNE!"
In an instant, like he promised he would, Eddie ceased the playful torment, withdrawing his hands and freeing your legs from his. He clutched his chest dramatically, rolling back his eyes before falling to the grass beside you, making a silly croaking noise that caused you to giggle all over again. Upon "waking up," Eddie grinned.
"Phew!" He wiped the nonexistent sweat from his forehead. "You banished him... But, considering you're giggling like mad and missing a shoe, it appears the Overlord replenished all of his mana by tickling you to tears before you could recite the spell, right~?"
You hadn't even noticed your tears of mirth, but hastily wiped them with your sleeve. When your eyes met Eddie's, you couldn't stop yourself from giggling even harder. He laughed softly, before offering his hand to help you sit up.
"I-IhI got it... Th-Thank you though, Eddie..." Eddie didn't take any offense, as you'd made him aware that you could get touch averse sometimes, and he was more than understanding that all the tickling must have been a lot to deal with.
"How are you feeling...? Honestly?"
"Gihiggly... but... behehetter than I've felt in years..." Your admission was genuine, and out of the corner of your eye, you saw Eddie beaming at you. "Thank you... IhI mean that... Thank you, Eddie..."
"Of course, Y/N. I gotta say, it's awful cute that you like tickles too."
"T-Too? Wait- You..."
"Yes. I'm well versed in the art~" Eddie said with a dramatic voice that emphasized how much of a nerd he was. "Got this whole 'Munson Doctrine of Tickling.' Kihidding. I dohon't have it. Not on paper at least~"
You hid your face in your hands momentarily and playfully swatted Eddie's leg. After a few minutes, as the two of you settled down, you found yourselves leaning on each other, the sky orange as the sunset was fast approaching, air feeling a little colder than it did half an hour earlier.
"Eddie..."
"Hm?"
"I-I'm sorry I didn't say this before, but..." you took a breath, and bounced your leg to recollect your thoughts, "...thank you, for opening up about yourself... You didn't have to... I'm- I'm glad you did, don't get me wrong, it's just that- well... I appreciate your vulnerability. And, I want you to know, that you've brought me a lot of joy in the one day I've spent with you so far... so, I know that the joy you bring everyday to people who know you the best, is too great a number to count. I-I want to help in some way, with anything, because I'm really thankful for you, so... if you did still need a tutor, I could... I mean... What I'm trying to say is... you're wonderful, and you deserve wonderful things... You're not a freak, Eddie, and I wish more people truly knew you..."
Your heart was racing, as you were fearful your words didn't come out right, but when you found the courage to look up at him, his large, brown eyes were softer than you'd ever seen them before. "I will absolutely take you up on that tutoring offer."
"R-Really?"
"Can we count it as a study date~?"
Your brows furrowed momentarily, and Eddie had to resist the urge to poke your nose. "Study- Wait... Do you like me...? I-I... I think I understood when you were telling the story, but... I don't want to have misread your tone..."
"Yeah... I... I do like you. I could see you, Y/N. I did, see you. I just, didn't want you to be frightened, by me-seeing-you. You, uh... looked a bit like a deer in the headlights whenever our eyes mehet in school." Eddie chuckled quietly, before leaning close to you. "You sure you weren't afraid of me~?"
"I wasn't afraid! I- Hey! Y-You're teasing..."
"IhI am. But not about liking you. So..." He bit his lip, and looked toward the setting sun. "Is there any specific time your family's expecting you back home by?"
"I-IhI, uh, never told them a time..."
"Do you... uh... wanna make the rest of this day a first date... maybe?" You could hear nervousness in his voice, and it left you momentarily flabbergasted. If the orange glow of the sunset had not been so strong, you would have seen the red adorning his cheeks.
Your heart was racing, body overtaken by the urge to happy stim, and you welcomed it with a nod of your head and a simper on your lips. Though you had a long way to go before the burden of failure would be lifted from your shoulders, for the rest of that day, your shame was nowhere to be found.
