What time period is Brother Bear supposed to be set in? I always thought the movie took place during the Ice Age, but there are still glaciers in Alaska, so probably not the Ice Age. My dad says possibly a couple hundred years ago, but there are mammoths in the film, so probably a bit further back in time than a couple hundred years.

Brother Bear takes place near the end of the ice age, so at least 10 thousand years ago.

And when it comes to mammoths going extinct it really depends on the subspecies and part of the world, the very last ones we have evidende of went extinct in 1650 B.C, so definitely a lot longer than a couple of years ago. But in Alaska it's estimated to be about 12 thousand years ago that the woolly mammoth went extinct based on the fossils that were found.

Hello, Kat here! Just to let y'all know, I won't be rebbloging stuff from people who use ai to make "art". I don't condone that, as an artist I do feel deeply offended by the use of ai to make visual pieces (I refuse to call it art), and I don't want to support people who use it.

I bring this up because someone tagged me on their fankid post, and I rebbloged it, but later I realized that a lot of their posts were ai generated. Seeing this, I decided to delete the reblog, because that's something I just won't support, at all. Tho I believe the post they tagged me on wasn't ai, I still felt... Icky, seeing as some of their more popular posts were ai generated.

This isn't meant to be an attack to this person in particular, however, if you see this, I beg you to rethink your choice of using ai. As long as you use ai, and keep those posts of ai "art" up, I have to let you know, I have decided not to reblog your fankid posts here, because I don't want to support that kind of thing due to how much it damages the art industry, and even the environment.

Sorry about the long post, I just wanted to be transparent about this.

Hello Anon! That’s such a hard question since my faves depend on my mood, BUT my faves that are the most consistent are these.

Him revealing himself to Rin as Samael will always be a top tier panel. The delivery, the outfit, the scenery! He can be written off as dramatic, though there can definitely be substance behind that.

These are so great too! To see him fully taking on the role of mentor by giving Rin the key was so exciting, so this is my favorite role of his. Again the delivery here is immaculate with his phrases and faces. The “After all, I’m a demon!” panel could be my all time favorite? The whole scene is great but his teeth, the way he smiles, he’s really only happy when being terrible to others lol. Idk it’s charming to see the mask come off. He’s also adorable in a yukata, so that helps.

As for the arc that gave the most interesting information? I think the investigation arc. Specifically the tub scenes. Because he’s so mysterious, we still don’t know so much about his past. We learn that he’s rotting and must be suffering, and when you listen to him reminiscing with a thinly veiled sad look on his face, looking back at those women… idk it says a lot despite how little he actually says there.

Not exactly a panel, but I’m including this from his chapter in the LN since he looks so sad… I want to see more of him being very sad.
