YAY!!! I had an absolute blast writing this story! Thank you to everyone who took time to read, leave kudos, and comment on it—your support means the world to me! A huge shout out to the @lcdrarry Mods for their kindness and for hosting another brilliant year! It takes a village to craft a story with love, and wow, did my village deliver! I’m endlessly grateful for the patience, love, and support from my amazing alpha, betas, and reader throughout this experience! 2023 fic review!

ahhh thanks for tagging me, @citrusses and @oknowkiss! i'm going to tag @teledild0nix @elskanellis @arminaa8 @thecouchsofa @stationintern and anyone else who'd like to do this!!

my 2023 AO3 stats are...alarming lol. AO3 counts Close Behind as a 2023 fic because i finished posting it in 2023, but i really wrote it all in 2022. so if we discount that (which was 134k) i still wrote...over 330k words of fanfiction. 🆗🆒

do i have regrets? no. should i have regrets? maybe??? in any case, 2023 was the year i really started using tumblr for fandom again (thanks, elon!) and i made so many wonderful friends who were so supportive and inspiring! that word count is all your fault, basically.

In Drarry fics I love a shocked Ron at the reveal that Harry is dating Draco but honestly nothing beats a unfazed Ron. Harry is expecting outrage and indignation but instead met with a sigh so heavy with resignation because Ron has been waiting for the inevitable. This is how I picture it going

Harry: you’re just fine with this? You don’t even seem that surprised. How did you guess?

Ron: guess? Please. You two have been up each other’s ass one way or another since you were 11. This is hardly the scandal of the century.

Harry: What!? Hermione, back me up. You’re at least a little shocked right?

Hermione: oh no, I knew this was where we would end up back in 4th year when I realized you were at least a little queer

Harry: I didn’t come out until I was 20! You’re making this up

Hermione: there’s no heterosexual explanation for the way you looked at Diggory

Ron: when Cho kissed you the only description you gave was “wet”

Hermione: he still turns red when Bill or Charlie hug him and that started 4th year too

And for some reason Draco feels responsible and miserable so one night he makes a rush decision and takes a time turner and goes back to help Harry win the war ( I know time turners don't work like that in canon so image that the ferret upgraded it) he goes back and finds Harry, just that Harry doesn't know he is a time traveller. Draco tries to win his trust and not reveal where he actually comes from and so they form an alliance. They fight side by side and share a lot of time trying to defeat the snake guy and so Harry starts to catch feelings. But one day something happens and Harry discovers Draco has been lying to him (he doesn't know the full truth but he is still hurt) they fight and somehow he reveals his feelings for him. Draco knows that this is wrong and that for Harry to survive he needs to start over. So Draco kisses him goodbye (and because he can't help himself) and uses the time turner to go back. And so is a loop in where Draco is trying to save Harry and the wizarding world but nothing must happen between them or they die :b
