 - Garrison Role Swap where Keith is the insecure/jealous cargo pilot who’s always being compared to Lance. (this is actually a fic i’ve already started, it will be coming out in the next month or two.)

- Keith struggles with internalized homophobia when he realizes just how much he adores Lance’s smile 

- live model Lance and art student Keith 

- The boys dating in the Garrison, breaking up horribly, hating each other all the way into space, and then having angry makeup sex.

- Lovebug, where lance is driven to sleep with a random alien village (yes, the entire village) despite being in a very committed relationship with Keith. Fallout ensues.

(1) Actually there may be something to the idea of Geordo having (or having had) a bit of unacknowledged jealousy in regards to Alan and how much affection/attention he got when they were kids. Reread Alan's introductory manga chapter and it definitely feels implied given that Geordo a) is clearly jealous of the amount of time alan and katarina have spent with each other, b) it feels implied he came to the claes estate 3 days in a row in order to run into alan to have a confrontation

(2) (or at least in the manga that feels implied), and c) in this particular instance he certainly comes off as a lot more passive-aggressive towards Alan and not quite in the same way he was passive-aggressive with Keith in the previous chapter (tho that might just be me). Thing is I dont think little 8 y/o Geordo was attempting anything deliberately malicious but rather thought he had to draw the line in the sand that this was one private relationship he didn't want his brother involved in.

(3) The last point of course functioning under the assumption that Geordo feels his younger brother monopolizes, or had monopolized, the attention of their immediate private household, intentionally or not, enough that he felt threatened that his relationship with Katarina might end up the same way. ((Probably coulda made this into my own theory post in hindsight, but I already have two-thirds of this written out and sent so its a bit too late to go back now))

Geordo definitely has some unacknowledged jealousy towards Alan, there’s no doubt in my mind.

Geordo feels like (and is) the forgotten middle-child and while it’s not as intense as Alan’s inferiority complex towards Geordo, Geordo definitely has resentment towards Alan.

I think it’s definitely more than implied that Geordo is jealous of Alan and Alan’s relationship with Katarina. Particularly when Geordo draws that line in the sand during their meeting at Claes Manor.

As you said, he visits Katarina three days in a row in order to “run into” Alan and makes it clear that it’s not odd for HIM to be there, as Katarina is HIS fiancé -- Alan is the odd one in this situation.

He also tells Alan that there is no point for Alan to continue his competitions with Katarina, as he has yet to win won (and won’t win). And this is just my impression, but this seems like the first time Geordo ever got into it with Alan or pointed out “Alan’s failures.”

While Alan is always comparing himself to Geordo and so do others, we never actually see Geordo do that.

Until this moment.

And in this moment - Geordo’s jealousy of Alan in regards to Katarina, has more to do with Geordo’s feeling towards Katarina rather than Alan. In the sense that I think Geordo’s resentment towards Alan for monopolizing the attention of particularly their mom (I think) is more of a backburner to Geordo’s current dilemma with Katarina.

Katarina is basically the first person Geordo has genuinely been interested in and has liked and for once his usual charms aren’t successful.

Now this is probably because Katarina is Katarina, but also because Geordo is currently learning how to make a genuine and sincere connection with another person. “False” flattery and expensive gifts aren’t the keys to build that kind of relationship.

In addition, Geordo is experiencing some new emotions in dealing with Keith and Mary and having to compete for and share Katarina’s time.

While jealousy is not really new for Geordo (despite what he may think), I think him being aware of the jealousy is definitely new and he’s not sure how to handle it.

Also just in general, not knowing how to deal with a situation is very new to Geordo and he’s experiencing a lot of that in his new relationship with Katarina.

And all of that is just on top of him trying to not just figure out Katarina, but spend time with her and actually have her like him in return.

And then, Alan comes along. Alan who (form Geordo’s perspective) is effortlessly able to play and get along with Katarina. (I loved that the anime showed Geordo watching Katarina and Alan playing in the tree.)

I don’t how much a of a factor this is – but Alan has managed to get Katarina to play with him, without the involvement of Keith. Which is something that we know Geordo is has struggled with.

Then the final straw is Katarina bringing up Alan during Geordo’s time with her.

 While we don’t really have any indication that Geordo puts any weight on the “rivalry or comparison” between him and Alan – it means nothing to him, but means everything to Alan – still Geordo would absolutely know about how he and Alan are always compared to one another.

So, not only is this probably the first time Geordo feels he’s being directly compared to someone, but he’s also falling short “in comparison.”

Add the fact that he has two other rivals for Katarina’s time and attention – and he’s still figuring out how to deal with them and he’s limited in what he can actually do.

He can’t exactly be rude to Mary, Katarina new best friend. And maybe Geordo doesn’t understand how far Mary’s feelings go at that point in their lives. As we see later on that he has no problem competing with Mary in the future.

And Keith is Katarina’s brother. He has to have a certain amount of “friendliness” towards Keith – this is why Keith and Geordo are both so aggressively friendly to one another. Geordo can’t just send Keith away or be mean to him, as Katarina clearly adores him and he’s someone Katarina will have a relationship with, no matter what Geordo does, as he’s her brother.

And then comes along Alan. Alan is Geordo’s brother, maybe Geordo think he could put a stop into this new rival before things get to far. 

Geordo can be more than passive-aggressive to Alan, more than he can be with Mary and Keith. So, I think, and this more speculation, that perhaps some of the frustration of competing with Keith and Mary gets taken out on Alan in that moment when Geordo “runs into” him.

There is definite resentment towards Alan as Alan did get the attention that Geordo craved (even if he refuses to admit it) and Geordo was really left on his own – especially in regards to emotional development.

Geordo being the “forgotten child,” is an element to his relationship with Katarina. Katarina is the first person and relationship Geordo has really let himself care about and be truly invested in and Geordo is insecure about his place in Katarina’s life. That’s why Geordo makes sure everyone knows he’s Katarina’s fiancé.

So yeah, I do think Geordo’s resentment of Alan is most definitely a factor, especially when it comes to the specific triangle of Geordo – Katarina – Alan.

Though, I will say Geordo’s jealousy towards Alan was not a major or an intrinsic to who Geordo was as Alan’s inferiority complex to Geordo was to Alan. 

Especially since we clearly see that Geordo was able to form a very good relationship with his brother, while also knowing his brother has feelings for Katarina for all these years.

Basically, I agree with you. Geordo intentionally or not, feels threatened that his relationship with Katarina might end up like his relationships at the palace and he is terrified of that possibility. Especially, when he was 8-years-old.

kallura + langst

keith and allura became a thing in the middle of a heated battle

they kick ass and actually talk things out because theyre both straightforward people.

keith raises concerns about lance's "crush" towards allura, and admits he'll be very much jealous. allura assures him she will talk to lance.

when lance finds out he gives them both a bright thumbs up and both sigh in relief.

lance is screaming inside. not because of allura.

because during keith's stint as the black paladin, lance started getting confused over whether he liked allura or was developing feelings for keith.

eventually, he concluded that while he was infatuated with allura (seriously she was a Woman) he considered the connection between him and keith to be deeper and more meaningful. thus, he loved keith more than he liked allura.

he tried denying it which is why the conversation between hunk and pidge teasing him about allura happens, but the boy loves keith and kept it a secret. during shiro's return and them going back to earth lance comes to terms with his feelings and tries to talk to keith and fails

and then kallura.

kallura's affections are very much real aand are very strong which is why lance doesnt truly resent the two about it. he's never seen keith so settled and happy, so he steps aside.

keith confronts lance about his assumed feelings for allura and lance just coldly ends it with "you dont know me well enough to assume I was in love with allura, keith."

keith is confused, allura is too. shiro suspects but respects lance's wishes to stay silent.

meanwhile, lance is dying inside. it turns out keith only cares about him in a distant, team family sort of way.

he ends up confessing to red, who kind of grows protective over lance, who's heart burns like the hearth of a home. and kind of snubs keith for a hot second before lance gets red under control.

when they get to earth and lance spends some time with his family, he gets the hanahaki disease.

rachel is the only one who gets an answer out of lance and is immediately wary of keith but lance snaps her out of it

NONE of the paladins are aware of lance's feelings for keith except shiro

shiro definitely does cknfront lance about his sickness but the moment he sees petals fall out of lance's mouth he puts two and two together and is promptly horrified

shiro keeps making glances at lance and kallura and its pissing keith off

lance tells shiro off. "I know you're worried Shiro, but the last thing Keith and Allura need is for me to get in between them. Drop. It." "But Lance, you–" "Don't you GET IT? I DON'T MATTER SHIRO. NOT TO THEM. Please...just...leave me be. I'll last till the end."

keith and allura, eavesdropping, wonder what that was all about but cant make heads or tails off of it.

at one point post battle. lance ends up coughing flowers right after the battle, and though he cleans it up, a little blood is left in the corner of his lips.

allura sees this and brings attention to this. shiro tries his best to play it off for lance's sake and lance catches on quickly, but keith isnt having it and has coran check him.

lance feels light headed and escapes to the bathroom

there he pukes a lot of blood and flowers, collapsing but not unconscious.

this is how allura finds him. she rushes him to a pod and NONE of the paladins can figure out what was wrong with lance other than "he's got persistent flower seeds in his lungs"

keith shouts at shiro who visibly flinches but gives in and explains.

the team is horrified.

but they still think lance is in love with allura.

in thus universe the hanahaki is still just that obscure angst trope so theres no known medical record of curing it other than shiro's words of "only if his love is reciprocated"

keith and allura "take a break" from the relationship to try and convince lance that allura loves him

it goes about as well as you could expect. lance sees through the bullshit.

allura tries, she really does. shes so so so so so very scared of losing anyone else she loves so if pretending to love someone she doesnt is what it takes to save lance, then she's damn well going to do it.

as for keith, yeah, he admits he and lance didnt really get on with each other in the start, but dammit, lance has been part of keith's small circle and damn if he was letting anyone else he loved get away from him

nothing allura does works. keith storms shiro's room, who had just assisted lance (who was in the bathroom at the time). keith confronts him and asks why lance isnt cured yet.

shiro stalls and shifts around the issue, uncomfortabel with revealing a secret that isnt his to tell. other than him, lance is the only one with homosexual tendencies.

"Why the fuck isn't Lance cured?"

"Maybe it's because you're using the wrong person, asshole."

Lance has never been more intimidating while standing half naked with only a towel around his waist.

"For fuck's sake, I love you, Keith Kogane. Not Allura. This whole pretending to reciprocarte my feelings plan was never going to work."

"But...you've always been in love with her!"

"I was never in love with Allura! I loved the idea of being her boyfriend!"

"But why Keith?"

"You're his girlfriend. You tell me."

"I think they can't understand why you went from hating Keith to loving him."

"Oh my god. You really thought I hated you? EVEN AFTER SHIRO'S DISAPPEARANCE? I was you literal RIGHT HAND Keith, and your biggest supporter! Just...forget it." Lance leaves the room and cries in his own room. Oops.

From then on Keith and Allura spend the rest of Lance's life left apologizing and just generally beibg a better friend after talking with Shiro. Keith spends time with Lance while Allura fruitlessly spends hours with Pidge and Coran researching for a cure that doesnt involve reciprocation. She fails, but Lance appreciates her efforts.

Some angsty fluff happens with everyone and tears are shed.

Finally, at the end, it isn't Allura who sacrifices herself to the cosmos, but Lance, who, even without Quintessence to spare, went on a separare mission to enact a ritual that enables him to act as the sacrifice instead of Allura. This puts the Hanahaki disease on hold, but he keeps the fact that he paid a higher price to exchange it with another curse a secret. He just ends up coughing the remaining petals

He hugs Allura tight and kisses her cheek. He gives everyone else a tight, heartfelt hug. Hunk hugs him the longest, and Shiro's is the most desperate one.

To Keith, he cups his jaws, Keith grips Lance's waist tight (this is purely platonic, remember that Keith has only NOW found a family worth fighting for and cannot fathom the idea of losing any of them. Read: Shiro.) and doesn't want to let go. Lance looks at him fondly, before dropping two rings in Keith's palm. His final blessing for Keith and Allura.

Keith is full on crying, begging Lance not to go, he can't leave them like this, not like this, there has to be another way. Lance smiles sadly, tells Keith not to worry about it. Allura hugs them both tightly, which prompts everyone else to pile around him as well.

As Lance fades away, he gives Keith one last gift. A flower that falls as soon as Lance's lips land on Keith's forehead.

Afterwards, after a funeral for Lance, Lance's mother gives Keith and Allura their share of his belongings that were divided according to his will. In that box, they find a photo album, Lance's phone, and two letters, addressed to each of them.

"Alright we have 569 orders to pack Toshi." You say to Shinsou "ok hold on." Shinsou said licking and blunt to finish rolling it. You grabbed a box of packages and put it in the living room the grabbing your computer to print out labels and receipts.

You light a candle and turn on some music (the song at the top) Shinsou puts the blunt to the side and starts labeling the packages and putting the orders together in this order costumers order, business card, thank you card, and receipt. You do final packaging and stamp for the mail marking each order off the list and putting it in the box of finished orders.

"Hey n/n wanna go get a tattoo tomorrow?"

"Sure but where?"

"You remember Sero and Denki from Highschool?"

"Well they opened a tattoo spot on 58th." Shinsou said "Bet we can go." You respond putting another order in the box.

Shinsou lit the blunt and hit it a few times. I looked at him as he let the smoke move out his mouth softly blowing with his head back. "Like what you see?" Shinsou said looking at me with a cocky smirk thats when I noticed I was staring "shut up and pass the blunt." I say. Shinsou chuckled and gave me the blunt. I did the same thing as Shinsou but blew o's "stop trying to show out n/n." Shinsou said taking the blunt "boy ain't nobody 'showing out'." I say putting up quotation marks with your hands.

We pass the blunt back a forth a few more times until I got a notification from life 360 saying Armoni go to the apartment. Shinsou put out the blunt and put it with the spongebob rolling tray we had. I cracked the window and opened the balcony door a little bit and went in my room to put the orders away.

When I came out the room someone started knocking on the door kinda like the police (strong ass knock✋🏽💀) "Armoni Keith l/n how manys time do I have to tell you stop knocking on my fucking door like that." I say opening the door. " Dang Im sorry you aint gotta cuss at me n/n" Armoni said "Aye Shinsou where the hoes?"

I smack Armoni on the back if the head while walking past him to the living room "Ain't no hoes." I say coldly. "Yea Armoni ain't no hoes.... right now." Shinsou said smirking. "Nigga." I say with a straight face. "Im not finna do this with ya'll tonight." Shinsou and Armoni start laughing "ANYWHOO. Did you eat yet Armoni cause was finna order some food."

I start up my car using my remote start while we were walking to the car in the parking garage.

As me and Armoni are just chilling the car I see y/n coming out on in and out but she getting stopped by someone "who the fuck.." I say "what wron... oh shit" Armoni says. "You know who that is?" Armoni asks me. "Not at all." I tell him. Im not gonna lie i was jealous. But like fr who is that. I see y/n put her phone back the guy tried to hug her but she away "she dont want em" me and Armoni said at the same time and busted out laughing

"What are yall laughing at?" Y/n said opening the back door putting the food in the car. "You petty for doing that to that dude." Armoni said trying to stop laughing. "Awe well he was the on that didn't realize." Y/n said " But you still gave him your number though ." I said. "Yea Im finna block his number rn." Y/n said pulling her phone back out.

Y/n's pov

"Aye. Disconnect from my car now." I said to Armoni "whyyyy?" Armoni whined. " Disconnect or get out. Either way your still disconnecting just the second one your walking." I said smiling at him "ok ok"

I started playing my playlist.

We got back to the apartment and everybody got comfortable and we ate and watched movies Armoni went into his room and got in the bed around 3 am. Me and y/n were still in the living room. Y/n was laying on me and I was laying on the couch.

~30 minutes later~

"Hey y/n..." she fell asleep on me. 'How cute' I chuckled and just stayed there not wanting to wake her up to put her in her bed. I kept watching f/a that Y/n had put on after Armoni went to bed.

"Let me drive the car tomorrow." Armoni said. I sighed knowing either way this might be my last week on earth. "Ok." "Anddd deleted thank you for your service." Armoni said taking his water and going back to his room.

I layed back down trying to comprehend what just happened.

THE QUEST FOLLOWS UNDER THE CUT 

SOME ALLURA BACKSTORY

The real deal is that the gods have gone radio silent to the romans FOR A LONG TIME long enough for praetors allura and lotor ( an apollo son btw) to worry too much what if they did something so wrong the gods take retaliation or something? truth is also that saturn (roman chronos) have been using this need to keep the camp jupiter running to poisoning lotors mind to get it against the gods for abandoning them and the usual demigod sad stuff… thats why he convinced allura to go look for the gods since she is so good with the mist and stuff while he stays…and basically reigns. But all in “”good heart””. 

Reah sees this and its like oh no, and when she founds Allura she immediately loves her and sees in her the way to not let saturn break the spirit of her grandchildren since he is basically instigating the hate from the demigods to their parents (and other demigods maybe??). she sees in allura a way to not repeat the same saturn family breaker story that is happening with lotor going against the gods. so she is the one who transports allura to camp half blood , actually the one that leads her is a big ass lion but cyclops attack them and he dies defending allura and it is so sad (then revealed by reah that such is the circle of life and the lion reincarnated in a cub who is going to be allura’s but bear with me) but she saw on allura the energy to face the patriarchal oppression against saturn and lotor in camp jupiter. BUT she fails on telling Allura that Lotor is the one behind everything, since Reah thinks/knows that Allura still dont have the support system to go against Lotor herself…because of romantic feelings.

ALSO, Lotor despises Apollo for knowing things and still letting them happen while with the help of the gods a lot of terrible things can be avoided, couldnt they?  but he would never refuse to use any kind of power, which makes apollo think he is important enough to lotor. Still,  that’s why he is siding with chronos. 

ANYWAY

Allura is at chb, and when she wakes up all repaired thanks to apollo cabin magic and she remembers Reah asking her to not reveal the other camp and making her swear over the river styx. so, she cant tell them there about the other camp bc if they expose themselves probably chronos is gonna go after them too and bye new greek allies. Anyway, Allura explains that in California *wink wonk* mount othrys has been appearing slowly and it only means chornos is  kind of waking up  and it can only happen bc some…demigods (lotor and the romans but she cant tell) are siding with chornos.

 BUT she goes with the legal void of just saying demigods who never made it to chb. I knew some of those at the gladiator thing in the labyrinth so he is gonna help allura because he is sick and tired of demigods putting themselves at risk because the gods are never clear to them and he feels mildly responsible since it is usually zeus rules the ones that fuck demigods more… so he is going with Allura.Keith jumps at the opportunity of getting away from his latent crush on Lance AND know more about this roman jargon Allura slips while talking and that means  he gets to do TWO things at once!The new quest trio ( shiro allura and keith)are ready to go sooner than pidges who still needs some preparations and now Lance is all….what cha mean Keith AND Allura..are both going and he is all confused because he is caring too much about it. Is he Jealous? of….?? Keith maybe? of course it is of keith! since he is NOT into him, and if Allura, the wonderful mysterious and powerful new demigod who saved them from the cyclops, goes with Keith, monster slayer and extremely capable hero… she probably will end up liking Keith (because who wouldn’t like keith and his cool moves) 

And when they are partying and pidge is still asking Shiro all the details he can remember about the matt last whereabouts and hunk is basically asking for all the tips on NOT dying on a quest and Lance is into interrupting ANY Keith-Allura interaction , the six of them are basically walking to the edge of camp  but when they all suddenly feel in the forest in their way out is when they get a prophecy of dodona (thank you garnny Reah) along the lines  that the six of them were to go IMMEDIATELY because in like a week Mt Osyris will be at its strongest and thats when there would not be gong back, that both quest were actually one and the same and only finding the missing family member they will get  there.

they are like oh yes the missing one is matt, OBVIOUSLY, And well, six is not an unlucky number for quests….but Keith is like NO - bc he dont want to spend time worrying about certain inexperienced in quests demigods -, pidge is like YES because that means finding her brother with more help.  hunk is like NO this means more problems and danger , Lance is like HELL YES i get to go with allura and keep an eye on keith so he doesn’t get all the glory and the girl. BONUS OF THE CERBERUS QUEST (Shiro Matt and Adam failed quest)

Matt had to get back cerberus bc some demigods took him and Persephone wasn’t getting any of that so she went for “who is the brightest demigod so he can bring back my dog instead of me telling my husband”  and  That’s how the trio went directly to hell/the Hades. since they had to start looking somewhere.

Adam is an Hermes child, having a sword power and can know when shit are traps who only went on this quest because Shiro insisted on also going and he had a really bad feeling about it.  his relation ship with Hermes is hermes going all “no dont do that my boy” and adam going “what if i do anyway” but hermes respect he is so straightforward.Matt is an Athena son, who wasn’t too sure about going on a quests until he wanted to graduate from camp demonstrating to his sister that demigods have bright futures out there. 

how did the three brightest and oldest demigods in camp half blood got themselves lost, probably dead and separated?

On their way there shiro and adam get on each other nerves to the point when they both say  “i will do it my way”. Adam is all there is something is deeply wrong with this quest LISTEN TO ME we gotta NOT do this, but Shiro is there for proving this quest successful,Matt is just in the middle… but at the end chooses shiro bc he wants to be the prove of a future for pidgey. And then they get separated in the underworld, never getting to cerberus.Shiro> A zeus child is the best way to get any revenge on zeus and all the gods represent and he is forced to fight in the gladiator arena against monsters and demigods alike, losing an arm.

Matt > ended up in the labyrinth alone passing doors avoiding any kind of evil demigods and creatures without much of a physical fight  bc he is bright that way.  discovering much more stuff about the demigods away from camp and only wants  to see his sister again

You closed the door of the small house you and your aunt shared, then closing the gate in front. FOr some reason that gate never closed right, leaving a loud bang of metal behind you.

You walked quickly off your steps, reaching for your surfboard as you sprint down to the ocean.

Your house was very close to the ocean, a 5 minute walk at the most. Today was one of those blissful days; no tourists, no surfer guys trying to grab your attention- complete and utter calm.

You sat on the warm sand, relishing the feeling of scrunching your toes in the softness. You were wearing a “Coca Cola” crop top, which you took off for the long day ahead. You wore your traiditonal bathing suit, a white halter top bikini set. You tied your hair up into a quick bun (which you knew would come out during a wipe out), strapped the board to your ankle, and rain for the waves.

Surfing took your mind off everything. Off the “accident.” The sorrow your town still felt, even though it had happened a year and a half ago. You still saw the McClains’ to this day, and seeing their smiles etched still with pain hurt you more than the fact everyone “pretended” Lance was alive even though they secretly gossiped that he was dead. It reminded you that you were just like them: still hurting.

Lance and you had been friends since childhood, running with sticks, pretending they were lightsabers and running after lizards. You guys were inspereable. He was the one who taught you how to surf. You were the one who introduced him to space. The whole neighborhood used to tease you two when you were young calling LAnce your “Little Lover” and you his “Little Miss.” You both pretended you hated it, looking at each other in disgust. You usual reaction was to give him a dirty look and say “HIm?” UGHHHHHH!”, and to make a barfing noise. LAnce’s usual thing was puff out his chest and say, “Me and her? Nuh uh, Im a bachelor- I got to many ladies to pick through!”

Forever it was like that- pretending to only be friends, until the day you two began to grow up, seeing not their chilldhood friend but a crush.

Both you and Lance enrolled into the Garrison, and you both got in. You waited to open up your GArrison letters together, and you to met at the beach, ripping up your letters feverishly. You pulled out the acceptance letters and you both screamed in glee. Lance had grabbed your hand, making you dance in the wet sand as waves lapped at your feet, him still screaming and you laughing out of glee.

Then came the “Congratulation” parties, then the Going Away parties, then off to the Garrison you went.

You had excpected to be in Lance’s team (being the engineer), but you didnt. You two were upset- but quickly got over it saying- “Its for the best. We gotta part ways some days Feo.” You used his nickname on him, and he laughed nervously. But Lance began to drift away, and as hard as you tried to keep him with you- you couldnt. His new friends, and his rivalry with Keith was keeping him to busy to be with you, and you began to not love LAnce but despise him. He kept running off, getting people in trouble, and he wasnt being the same. HUnk and Pidge were nice, you had classes with them, so they weren’t the issue.

You confronted LAnce one night, the very night he disappeared. Your bottled up emotions exploded when he told you he was sneaking off outside the GArrison.

“So, your just going to leave?! Because Lance does what he wants, when he wants to, huh?” you yelled glaring at him.

“I dont need you to tell me what I cant or cant do! You dont control me!”

“You’re being an idiot, Lance!”

“Your just jealous Im doing better than you! You don't want to see me do well and have fun- you didnt help me when Keith was being a jerk, because you know Im more talented, more social, and more fun than you are! You barely have friends, while everyone knows my name!”

“First of all-” you know what, forget it you wouldnt understand!” you felt tears pickling your eyes. “Just go.”

Lance knew you like the back of his hand- he knows when he over stepped it.

“Wait- y/n, Im sorry, i didnt really-”

“JUST GO!” you looked up at him, letting you tears run freely, and you walked to your room, and slammed the door, sliding down against it, and broke down.

You replayed this moment for the millionth time as you sat on your surfboard, where the waves were calm.

You felt guilty for that night, feeling it was your fault for pushing LAnce away. You saw LAnce’s rivalry with Keith as stupid, knowing Keith was a better pilot, but didnt want to hurt your friend’s feelings by telling him that. He started to get mad and wanted somebody to listen after you would change the subject quickly when he brought it up, so he started talking to Hunk, who was to nice NOT to listen. You had no friends (besides maybe Pidge and HUnk) because you were so busy trying to get back LAnce, even though he kept brushing you off. You felt you had lost your best friend, and maybe it could have been something more. It wasnt your fault, you knew that, but- you wished you had done something different. Didnt deal with him like that.

The waves calmed you. Bittersweet moments like this came back to you, and little moments with LAnce you treasured. The times you would trip on cracks in the road when you were little, and he was the one that bandaged your cuts. The time your were Leia and he was Han for Halloween. The time he surprised you with a birthday cake for your birthday, but had forgotten to add sugar, and in an attempt to cover up the very flat cake had put globs of icing as big as ice cream scoops all over. You smiled at this one, remembering how the taste was so terrible that you spit the cake out in his face, and he was running around grossed out of his mind with half eaten cake all over his front while you sat laughing so hard your stomach hurt for hours after the incident.

You felt a tear roll off your cheek. You wiped it away. Remembering hurt, but forgetting would hurt worse.

The sun began to set, and you realized you had to go home.

You sighed, because everything was perfect- the sand was cast in a golden honey glow as the sun began to lay upon the horizon. The water was being colored not blue, but soft shades of baby pink, fiery red, and hibiscus orange. The air was cool, and the smell of sea salt filled your noise.

The day had been a long one. You did have some wipe outs, which made your your hair turn into loose ringlets from the sea salt. You brushed your hair to the side, and began to pick up your things until-

A faint sound of a purr came over you, something was flying-you gasped, seeing a blue robotic lion fly past your head and to the far side of the beach.

You gasped. It couldn’t be-

You began to fast walk cautiously to the giant cat. Was it really him? How the hell is he here? Where has he been? Is it really him?

You saw the lion, far off, beginning to crouch. It opened its large mouth, and you saw a man clawed in blue armor step out-he was paler than before, his hair was longer, but it had to be-

“LANCE!” you screamed, realizing who was in front of you. You broke into a run, trying to catch your footing on the sand. You saw him turn to face you, and you were close enough know to see his face break into a huge smile.

“Y/N!!!” He screamed back, breaking into a run just like yours.

You grabbed each other, and held on tight. Loads of questions began to fill your mouth, and all Lance could do was repeat, “I’ve missed you, I’ve missed you guys so much!” Into your hair.

“Lance where have you been, everyone’s been worried sick, I’ve missed you, I thought you were dead, what happened, God I wanted to say sorry to you for so long- Ive MISSED YOU!” You wanted to cry- the thing you wanted most was back in your life: Lance was back.

He spun you in the air, like he did so many years ago on the day you were accepted into the Garrison. You both laughed, and you stayed there, him holding your waist, and you having your hands wrapped around his neck.

“I’ve missed you a lot Lance…” you smiled softly, putting your forehead on his. The butterflies came back, tickling your stomach gently.

“I’ve missed you a lot too y/n- I’ve always wanted to tell you something and I was always too scared to- but I realized life’s too quick to keep stuff to yourself.”

You were hanging on to his every word, anticipating what he’d say. He looked nervous, almost embarrassed to say what he was trying to tell you, and that made the butterflies fly around in your stomach more fiercely than before.

“I like you y/n, like a lot, and I know you probably-“

In a spurt of courage and happiness, you grabbed his face and kissed him.

Sparks flew- he tasted like cherries, you tasted like salt water.

You pulled apart, realizing your feet were back in the sand again- “Wow”, LAnce said breathlessly.

You chuckled softly, watching his light blue eyes turn indigo in the Cuban sunset.

Realization hit him, noticing you were only in your bathing suit.

“Wow, you look amazing,” he didn’t say this in his flirty voice, he didn’t mean it like that- it shocked you to hear he was genuinely complimenting you (for once).

And you did. You found surfing was your outlet to deal with Lance’s dissapaperance. But it wasn’t always like this though. For a long time, the grief of Lance cost you to kind of give up. The Garrison brought back to many painful memories, so you left. When you got back home, that brought me memories to; you stayed in your room, you didn’t come out for meals- it was like you disappeared too. But in an attempt to bring you back, your Aunt lovingly locked you out of the house and told you not to come back until you did something OUTSIDE of your room. You sat on the ground for a while, confused on what to do: it had been awhile since you had been outside. You opened your garage, and saw Lances blue and white surfboard- he had left it at your house before leaving- you grabbed it, feeling a surge of new found energy. You grabbed it and ran to the ocean.

You got addicted- your aunt almost called the police one night because she thought you got kidnapped- but she went down to ocean and found you there, swimming in the pitch black waves. She literally almost had a heart attack- but she knows better than to stop you. It helps you.

Now your muscles were taught, your personality was back, and you could think clearer than before.

“Im glad your home,” you say softly, putting your head in the crook of his neck.

“When Im with you…. Im home,” he replied, holding you tightly and stroking your hair.

You breathing hitched, hearing these few words that meant everything, but you breathed out again and smiled.

Realization swarmed you, your smile turned straight,, and you pushed off his body. LAnce was shocked and confused, and you shouted, “Where have you been?”

Lance’s blush deepened, and he scratched his neck- “Well, um- its kind of a long sto-”

“Getting busy over there LAnce?” a voice taunted in front of you; the voice was undefiable as male or female- but you recognized it at once.

“Wait is that- PIDGE?”

“I really like you,”

Keith froze in shock as he looked at Lance. He was looking down at his hands, his fingers wringing anxiously around each other. He could see his shoulders trembling slightly as if he was afraid to tell him. Well, that wasn’t too unexpected, they weren’t exactly close as they were to the others.

Especially not as close as him and Shiro. At the thought of the man, he spiralled into a silent rage.

Before Shiro had left on the Kerberos mission, he and Keith were dating. They hadn’t dated for very long before the mission but wanted to continue their relationship after he got back from the mission. Obviously it hadn’t happened the way that they wanted it to. Even when they were reunited and had enough time to talk about it on the Castle after flying through the wormhole; Shiro told Keith that he didn’t think it was a good idea to continue their relationship again. He was a different person and he didn’t want to hold Keith back from finding someone that he really loved. Understandably, Keith was pissed off, but wait. Now he had an opportunity to get back at Shiro, maybe even get him back at the same time.

He looked back at Lance who was still waiting in silence, preparing himself for Keith’s response.

“Okay, do you want to date?” He asked before Lance’s head whipped up in surprise. His eyes grew wide and he saw them become watery.

“Really?” He asked quietly, searching Keith’s face. Keith’s eyebrows furrowed in confusion and he nodded his head slightly. Lance’s face split into a happy smile and he lunged forward to wrap his arms around Keith’s body. The hands clutched in the back of his jacket were trembling and he laid his head against Keith’s chest with a happy sigh. Keith hesitated slightly before running his fingers through Lance’s hair.

This was going to be easy.

The very next day, the two of them announced their relationship to the team with Lance happily wrapping himself around Keith’s arm. To Keith’s annoyance, everyone gave them smiles and their congratulations, including Shiro who had the biggest smile of all of them.

He made sure that when they were in the same place as Shiro to act super lovey-dovey with Lance, that whenever he had his arm over Lance’s shoulder or they were cuddling on the couch to send Shiro a little smirk. At first, Shiro was surprised and confused by the looks but as the weeks went by, he understood what Keith was doing and he certainly wasn’t happy about it.

Keith could tell he wasn’t happy about it either. With every single millimetre that Shiro’s brow sunk in anger, he hammed up his performance with Lance; giving him pet names, grabbing his hand out of nowhere, and wrapping his arms around him from behind to rest his chin on Lance’s shoulder. All the things that Shiro used to do to him, just to make him that much more jealous.

Or what he thought was jealousy.

One day after their one on one training session, as they left and were about to head down the hall towards the quarters Shiro grabbed Keith’s shirt and dragged him closer. Keith was prepared for anything and welcomed the treatment until Shiro’s eyes bore into him with anger.

“I know what you’re doing and you need to stop it,” he growled surprising Keith.

“What?” He asked.

“This thing,” he gestured between them. “You’re trying to do to me, or us, you need to stop it before you hurt Lance, he’s your boyfriend,” he reasoned. Keith ripped himself away and crossed his arms in front of him.

“Well, he wouldn’t be if you had just remembered what we had,” Keith spat turning his back to him. He heard Shiro let out a loud sigh behind him and he looked over his shoulder at him.

“What we had was never going to work out Keith, we’re two completely different people now, you can’t keep hurting Lance like this, it isn’t going to change anything between us,” he tried. He didn’t like the way that Keith was just using Lance as if his feelings didn’t mean anything. He could see how much happier Lance was just from having his love recognized and given the attention that he always wanted from him. He could see the fondness in his eyes whenever he looked at Keith and if he knew that he was using him to get to Shiro of all people, he didn’t know what would happen.

“Why couldn’t you just give us a chance?” He finally asked, turning to face Shiro fully. He let out another tired sigh and rubbed a hand down his face.

“I told you, Keith, I want you to find someone that you can learn to love, that person isn’t me, I don’t think I’d be able to handle a relationship,” he admitted staring into Keith’s eyes.

“We could just try for a little bit,” Keith pleaded fisting his hands into Shiro’s shirt. Shiro narrowed his eyes down at Keith and pulled his hands off his chest.

“This isn’t even about just us Keith, this is about Lance too, what would you even say if we got together again? Sorry for dating you, I was just using you? How you could think that something like this would even work?” Shiro shook his head before turning and walking towards the kitchen.

Keith gritted his teeth and kicked angrily at the wall. He bunched his fists into his hair and headed back into the training deck to let off more steam before he went to go meet Lance in his room. He at least couldn’t let Lance see him like this.

Too bad he already had.

Lance stood around the corner from the training room, his heart was beating loud in his ears. He prayed he hadn’t heard what he thought he had and that maybe he had fallen asleep after training and that it was all just a bad dream. That it was a nightmare really, but as he continued pinching his skin and blood rushed to the surface in a bruise he knew that he was awake.

And he was heartbroken.

Almost in a trance, he headed back to the quarters. He had to lay down and think about everything for a while. As he got closer, his breaths started coming in rasps and his chin was violently trembling. He could barely see the scanner through his tears and he desperately tried to wipe them away.

He stumbled into his room and landed on his bed. He curled up on his side cuddling his pillow to his body as he thought over the last couple of weeks. If he was honest with himself, they were some of the happiest weeks of his life.

He felt loved.

But it was all just an act.

His eyes stung as he desperately tried to stop the tears from falling any longer. He didn’t want to shed tears over something like this. It didn’t deserve his sadness, it deserved his hatred and rage sure, but nothing else.

He turned to face the wall and closed his eyes. For the time being, he was going to try and get some rest. God knows how much sleep he was going to get when everything truly sunk in.

He woke up to feel an arm sliding around his waist to hug him from behind.

“Hey baby,” a whispered voice said from behind him. At first, he smiled with a sigh before he remembered everything that happened that day and he lashed out, knocking Keith out of his bed and onto the floor with a yell.

“Lance! What the fuck!” He yelled before looking up at the boy and freezing when he saw tears rolling down his cheeks. He jumped up and hovered around him.

“What happened? Are you okay?” he asked anxiously looking at him in concern. Lance stopped crying and looked at him with a sharp smile.

“Am I okay? AM I OKAY!?” He screamed dragging himself off the bed. Keith flinched and backed up slightly.

“No Keith, I’m not okay,” he said with a slightly hysterical smile. Keith looked at him with concerned eyes.

“Well, what happened? What can I do?”

“I heard you talking to Shiro,” he whispered staring at Keith’s eyes as they widened in understanding.

“Lance I, I mean, I don’t” he started flustered.

“I don’t want to hear anything from you, Keith,” he said quietly walking up to the door of his room. “I just want you to get out,”

“What? But we can talk about this Lance,” he tried shaking his head.

“GET OUT!” Lance screamed. With a jump, Keith did just that. He looked helplessly as the door slid shut. He looked at the door in shock, his heart dropping to the pit of his stomach. His eyes helplessly drifted down the hall to lock with Shiro’s at the end of the hallway. He lifted his hand out as if to reach out to him but Shiro only shook his head and walked away.

Nobody had heard from Keith since that battle the Galra had when Lotor accented to the throne. It was a miracle he was even alive, honestly.

He came in, sporting his Blade suit with his usual emotionless expression painted on his face.

“Hey everyone.” He said as they turned to look at him with the sound of the door opening. Everyone was there. Matt, Lotor, Coran, and the others stood looking at him.

Allura was the first to speak. “Keith! It’s so good to see you!” She smiled stepping towards him but stopping. “Who is that?”

The other’s followed her gaze and sure enough there was someone behind him. Taller, female in stature. And Galra.

Lotor recognized her instantly. “Commander Krolia.” He said narrowing his eyes. He had almost expected her to be dead, what with the kind of power she had locked away.

She nodded to her Emperor and then looked at Keith.

“Everyone... this is my... my mother.”

It had been a few hours since Keith returned and dropped the biggest bomb in the history of Keith.

And Lance was angry.

Pidge and Matt found each other, then found their dad— who got to go home and see his wife and friends. Now Keith has his mother, who he’s admitted to her being why he is the was he is.

But Lance had no one.

Even confessing that he missed his brothers and sister, they made fun of him for crying. They dismissed him at almost every chance they got, especially Shiro.

The one time he was actually seen, was when his bayard gave him another weapon. And Allura was just trying to connect to her father through him.

He shouldn’t complain though. It’s not like his family is dead. They’re not missing. They’re fine, Sam will make sure of it.

“I left Keith and his father when Keith was just a baby. And I regret it every day. But I could not allow them to be compromised by my... image.” Krolia explained and snapped Lance back into attention. This was Keith’s moment and he should be happy for him.

“Well I guess you’re the one to thank for him I guess. I can’t tell you how many times Keith and I have spent hours together training and talking. He was my best friend at the garrison.” Shiro smiled, but there was something behind his eyes that Lance was sure he saw but couldn’t quite make out.

“We didn’t know Keith before... well before coming out here. But the time we did spend with him, before he ditched us,” Pidge chimed. “We cherished. Keith’s a cool guy I guess.”

“What’s that supposed to mean?” Keith pouted and his mother chuckled beside him.

Keith looked at her almost shocked. Like he had never heard or seen anything like it. “He sounds like a blade for sure. Always focused on the mission, too head strong.” Krolia mused.

Lance couldn’t take this anymore. Standing up he left but of little concerned to everyone except Lotor.

Lance walked the halls of the castle shim aimlessly, just wanting to get away from that cute happy atmosphere. He thought he was going to throw up if he stayed any longer and when he got out, he found he was holding his breath.

The silence was good for a while, then it just got lonely. Barley 10 dobashes has gone by until Lance felt the pain of his thoughts collecting in his head. His face got hot, painfully hot and his eyes watered producing unwanted tears to spill from his eyes. Lance slumped against the wall and sobbed, hugging himself, imagining his mom or his siblings embracing him.

He didn’t want to open his eyes because he knew he would only see a dark monochrome castle with pretty blue lights through his watery eyes. “Lance?”

Lance stood up real quick. He knew that voice. He hated that voice. He sniffed, dried his eyes with the back of his hands and shoved them in his pockets. “What do you want Lotor?” He seethed, trying not to let his voice quiver.

“You seemed... distant back there. If I had known any better I’d say you were jealous.” His voice sewn with amusement.

“I was NOT jealous of Keith!” Lance turned around screaming in Lotor’s face.

Lotor was shocked for a tick, but composed himself. “Alright. Such an odd thing it is, being a half breed.” Lotor begin leaning on the wall.

“Must suck.” Lance sneered.

“You never really fit in anywhere. I know I didn’t. To my father I was somewhat illegitimate, though he loved my mother, I think he hated me when he lost her. I don’t have a lot of memories of Unerva, but I’d like to think that I do.” He paused.

“I bet your fried Keith feels the same way. Only he has more chances than I do to explore his other half. To be accepted as his other half. But I think I understand you too Lance.”

No he doesn’t.

“You’re feeling lost, and it’s hard to see your comrade gain something they didn’t even want and you get nothing.”

Stop it.

“And you just want that part of you back. You want to know yourself more, don’t you?” Lotor looked into Lance’s eyes and extended a hand onto his shoulder. “I understand-“

“YOU UNDERSTAND NOTHING!” Lance slapped Lotor’s hand away, steam practically coming out of his ears. “YOU DONT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT ME! NOBODY DOES! NOT YOU, NOT THE PRINCESS, NOT KEITH. Okay?! Lay off!” He took a step towards Lotor.

“I haven’t seen my family since I left. I never planned on leaving, or staying or getting caught up in some intergalactic war! They’ve probably been worried sick about me, and I’m not there to tell them it’s okay! And even if we just sent them messages with Sam, I HAVENT SEEN THEM. I DONT KNOW HOW LONG ITS BEEN OR HOW MUCH THEY’VE CHANGED. I feel like I’m a hostage!” Lance hadn’t realized he’d backed Lotor into another wall until his hand slammed the metal next to his head.

“You don’t understand me at all. And don’t you ever try to.”

Though Lance was shorter than the emperor, he felt like he was staring him down and it felt good. He pulled himself away from Lotor and started walking the other direction, somewhere new where he could get lost again and not be found for a while. When he was sure he was safely out of range and not being followed, Lance ducked into another room— one he’d never been in before and started screaming and kicking things around the room.

His tantrum lasted longer than he’d thought and when he was done, the destruction was massive. He used a wall to safely sink to the floor and pulled his knees into his chest. Lance cried for a little over half an hour until he fell asleep in that very room, in shambles.

It wasn’t until the next afternoon that he was found by Coran and Pidge who’d been actively looking for him. “Lance! Get- whoa...” Pidge said in awe of the complete mess. “What happened.”

Lance was already awake and trying his best to clean it up, but it was very difficult to stitch together quilting he had found. “Uhm...” he started but couldn’t find a good excuse.

“Nevermind that, Krolia’s going to go over rebel Galra factions with us.” Coran said waving Lance out.

“Rebel Galra. That’s funny.” Lance halfheartedly chuckled and walked towards them, leaving the room a mess. But the angry and sad feelings were beginning to creep back in. He just wanted to see his family, was that too much to ask?

‘Baby, can you get that for me please?’ Sam yelled from the bedroom as someone was knocking on the door.

Opening the door, it was Charlie. He grinned as he greeted me with a big hug.‘Hey Y/N! Long time no see, how are you?’ 

Sam thought it was a good idea to bring some friends over. Since were always so busy and constantly doing paper work all the time, relaxing with friends was something we both needed.

The whole gang was finally here after Elena, Nathan and Sully joined in following Charlie.

'Is Chloe coming?’ Elena asked while her eyes were glued to the TV.

'Yeah, she said she’ll be running late.’ Sam said as he walked to the fridge to grab a beer.

'I’ve never heard of Chloe before.’ I asked Sam, curiously. He’s never mentioned her name and now I was really intrigued.

He chuckled as he closed the fridge. 'You’ll love her. She’s great.’

As I fake smiled at my boyfriend, my stomach turned. It was only a compliment to his friend and I already felt a little bit jealous.

'You’re feeling okay?’ Sam smiled as he sense there was something wrong with me.

I nodded as a response, 'Of course I am.’

'And then the whole train just fell off the tracks and the bridge. It was crazy.’ Chloe laughed as she told the story of how she got the Tusk.

Nathan gasped, 'Why is this my first time hearing about this!?’

'You never asked brother. But that was one adventure I’ll never forget.’ Sam took a deep breath as he reminisced the old days in India.

'It really was amazing. I’d do it all over again if I can.’ said Chloe.

'Yeah, so I can save your ass again.’ Sam joked. 'You wouldn’t have survived without me, Chloe.’

Chloe giggled, 'I saved you a bunch of times too, don’t act like the hero.’

As I watched the two talk to each other, I realized that they were really good friends. It was just something about their relationship that made it seem so special. Even though I knew that their relationship wasn’t anything more than friends, the jealousy didn’t seem to go away. It especially didn’t help at all knowing that she was really pretty.

'I’m going to take the trash out.’ I forced a smile as I walked towards the kitchen. As I gathered the trash bag, I left the apartment.

The jealousy got the best of me; I completely forgot that I was afraid of the dark. I gulped as I looked out the dark, midnight sky. Keeping my eye on the dumpster, I threw the garbage bag and quickly turned when I encountered a shadow.

'Y/N.’

Recognizing the voice, I knew it was Sam. 'Don’t scare me like that.’

Sam chuckles, 'Sorry but it was too funny.’

I stomped up to him as I hit him on the chest, 'Dont ever do that. You know how much I hate the dark.’

'Okay, okay. I’m sorry.’ Sam settled his laugh, trying to hold it in.

'Is this why you followed me? To scare me?’

He shook his head. 'No, I thought something was bothering you so I wanted to check up on you.’

'Nothing’s wrong, Sam.’

'Really?’ He looked at me with his eye brow tilted up. 'You’re taking the trash out late at night and you’re afraid of the dark.’

'Sam, I’m fine.’

'Baby, just tell me. I can tell you’re upset about something.’

I sighed, 'Chloe…’

'Did she do something to you?’

'No.’

'Then what is it?’

I looked down, trying to avoid his eye contact. 'You and her… I’m jealous.’

When I met his eyes to see his reaction, he was surprised. 'You’re jealous of us?’

'I know it’s stupid. Don’t repeat it.’

Sam grinned, 'Baby, that’s so adorable. You jealous of me and Chloe?’

Putting my hand over my forehead, I was embarrassed. 'Stop.’

He pinched my cheek, 'Aww you’re so cute when you’re embarrassed.’

'I’m not.’ I said as my face turned red.

'You have nothing to worry about. I love you.’ Sam chuckled as he wrapped his arms around me. He then gave a peck on my forehead. 'Nobody but you, babe.’

I giggled, 'You’re so corny.’

‘Yes I am, indeed.’ he laughed.
