i dont think the hate is about the bigger picture of his ending aka "traumatized character finally getting a break" its specifically the 'farmer' part that caused the hate for his ending and the way it finalized his character assassination including the cuban stereotypes which almost make up his whole character

farmer? flirty? "dumb"? exactly these things make lance, well lance, for some reason. also ive seen people compare him to leo valdez (from PJO) if im not mistaken since his character also revolves around the same stereotypes that i just mentioned

so yeah does he need to find some time to heal from the trauma the war put on him? yes. did he have to be a farmer for that? no.

basically this just tells that a better alternative couldve been chosen but the creators were kind of salty at his fans so- well, that ending... just happened lol

little rant about lance from voltron - I HATE when u guys complain about how he shouldn't have been a farmer at the end of the show, and how he wanted to be a pilot. HE WAS A PILOT!!!! LITERALLY FOR THE ENTIRE SHOW, WHAT DO U THINK VOLTRON WAS??? he was a paladin for an alien space lion.... he got what he wanted, and by the end of the show im sure the last thing he needed was to be ANOTHER PILOT. after everything that happened, that man needs a break ESPECIALLY after allura died
