Why is DC's official merch on their website genuinly so ugly like is this not a company filled with artists?? Even if not, they couldn't bother hiring one (1) person for the merchandise department who knows basic fashion or graphic design??

it is insane to me how often people get so up in arms about "historical accuracy" when it comes to characters of colour in historical fiction and historical inspired fantasy LIKE i know why. i know why. its because of racism. BUT LIKE how is this not super interesting to you. how is a racialized character living in a largely historically ethnically homogeneous area not the most intriguing thing. dont you want to see their experiences as a minority and as an individual and how they navigate this all and how it affects their relationships with friends and foes? plus that usually puts them in an underdog position and dont you want to see an underdog make it? or is an underdog not worth rooting for the second their skin is too dark for you?? come on man

In the fem!beatles AU, I have a headcannon that when Brian asks them to wear makeup on stage, George basically goes "fuck you" and starts doing makeup but badly. Uneven messy thick eyeliner wings and ridiculously spikey bottom lashes. Very little foundation if any, and always covering the lips. And then she goes "well? I have makeup on. That's what you asked for. And we go on in 2 minutes so there's no time to fix it oh well". Paul once tried stepping in. It ended badly.
Thing is she can do good makeup. Like she has when going to some parties or whatever, and it looks good. But she doesn't really like it, and HATES being told what to do even more.
