Bug and uncle Luke vibes
Jim and Cub vibes 🤭🤭
so true bestie. uncle lukey is such a kid at heart so he indulges bug's every whim. he's also that guy who just naturally migrates towards kids at parties and family events engaged in their silly conversations and games. in another lifetime he would've been a teacher <3
and there is nothing more cub-coded than this 😭😭😭😭 you and quinn thought it’d be a peaceful trip to the shops, leave the kids with their grandparents. what could go wrong? well...
Now, let’s be clear — Cub isn’t a naughty child. He’s the sweetest little guy you could imagine, polite, kind, always eager to help, and absolutely full of curiosity. It’s just that his energy knows no limits, and his curiosity is boundless. He’s not misbehaving, not trying to cause trouble. He’s just... exploring. He needs to touch everything, try everything, see how it works.
So when he stumbled across Bug’s paint set, well, it was only a matter of time before chaos unfolded. He’d been so into it, dabbing his little fingers into the colours, blending them together, and just having the best time — so lost in the textures of the paint — that it never occurred to him that maybe he should stop.
And Jim, having only been gone for a second, thought Cub was fine, sitting a few feet away. But when he looks down and sees his grandson sitting on the living room floor, absolutely covered in blue paint, there’s a flicker of mortification across his face before he laughs.
He’s raised three boys — equally rambunctious, equally curious — and honestly, this isn’t half as bad as the antics he dealt with when they were this small. So, even though Cub looks like a tiny, paint-covered disaster, Jim can’t help but love it.
Cub, of course, is smiling up at Jim, not even noticing the paint all over his little body, grinning ear to ear, completely content with his artistic endeavours. He has no idea why his grandpa is laughing, but he’s happy to join in anyway, his little giggle filling the air.
Jim, still laughing and shaking his head in disbelief, picks Cubby up, paint smearing all over his shirt, and carries him toward the dining room to find Ellen. She’s sitting at the table, watching Bug quietly draw, completely absorbed in her own art but the moment she looks up and sees Jim, with Cub in his arms, both of them covered in paint, even she bursts into laughter.
Jim, still chuckling, shakes his head. “I looked away for two seconds,” he says through his laughter, holding Cub up as if the mess wasn’t already obvious.
Ellen just laughs again, pulling out her phone in one smooth motion and snapping a picture before sending it off to you and Quinn with the caption: Grandpa was supposed to be supervising... maybe he just likes blue?
Jim looks at the picture Ellen just snapped, shaking his head with a grin tugging at the corners of his mouth. He glances down at Cub, who’s still grinning cheekily, completely unfazed by the mess of blue paint covering him from head to toe.
“Is that right, Cubby? You like the colour blue?” Jim asks, his tone playful, his eyes twinkling with amusement.
Cub nods enthusiastically, his little smile so wide it practically lights up the room.
“Uh-huh!” he says, his hands still sticky with paint as he tries to wipe them on Jim’s already-ruined shirt.
Jim chuckles and shifts Cub in his arms.
“Maybe you’re just getting ready to suit up for the Canucks one day, like your dad.” He pauses, glancing at Ellen with a smirk. “Though Quinn is gonna say I’m just trying to turn this into a team bonding exercise.”
Ellen laughs, her phone buzzing in her hand. She looks down at the screen, and as soon as she reads Quinn’s reply, she bursts out laughing again.
“What is it?” Jim asks, still bouncing Cub slightly, trying to keep him entertained.
Ellen holds up the phone, Quinn’s reply in bold letters: Tell Jimmy he’s out of practice. Can't handle one toddler?
#PLSSSS they'd be the cutest grandparents ever i'm-#also this is so stinking cute that you see pictures and think of my lil dad!quinn family!!!!! love u so much <3#idk i feel like i need a little au tag for these guys but for now let's just file this under#dad!quinn#capquinnchats#edit to add:#capquinn: the hughes au

life in fontaine was quite different to what you had expected, however you surmised that it was due to the fact that you spent most of your days around… interesting… characters.
on one hand, you had some clingy little magician hanging off your arm and treating you as if he was your big brother wherever you went, which only reminded you of a certain redhead back in the day.
on another hand, you had a classy lady who wore a gorgous gold dress and was possibly one of the most glammed up people you’ve ever seen, who insists on dragging you around with her, taking you to all sorts of little shops and cafés. when questioned why she does this, she only smiles, saying how you seemed lonely and needed a friendly face that wasn’t bursting you eardrums with enthusiasm constantly.
having an absent female role throughout your childhood, you slowly began to cling to navia. from the moment you requested the both of you go on a little snack date, she was your official big sister!
with all these eccentric people in your life with seemingly no limit on their social battery, you find yourself overly exhausted almost every evening.
this all changed when a humble and shy diver boy swam into your story.
after about a month of living within the walls of fontaine, you soon come to realise you never formally introduced yourself to lyney’s younger brother, who was absent the first time you ever met the twins.
from what you could recall, freminet was a reserved yet somewhat stoic character. from what lynette had separately told you, he was easily flustered and a bit difficult to talk to. for awhile, you just accepted the fact you might not ever even meet the boy as you had never ACTUALLY seen him out and about.
until the day you decided you’d explore the waters.
like many people in fontaine, you too were curious and mesmerised about the beauty of the sea. the shimmering blue waves blended into the prismatic pinks of the seabed. an assortment of colours could be seen from the top of the ocean and you just had to know what lay beneath the surface.
so, like every normal people would do, you grabbed some overglamified water-gear (NOT diving gear), and hopped straight into the ocean. you were a fairly strong swimmer so you had no issues going under, you weren’t planning on diving deep into water ravines and ocean monuments after all.
looking at all the ocean had to offer you, your eyes glimmered in an almsot spellbound way. the ocean was hypnotic, an almsot angelic tune could be deciphered as you swam further.
going down a little, you see something almost glowing? just beneath the sand. as you go to pick it up, you then realise it wasn’t an object, but a flower. you then recalled what lyney had told you about certain flowers of fontaine.
a little giddy, you go to pick one for yourself before someone else appears in your vision. a boy wearing a diving helmet moves directly upwards from where you were, also in shock in the fact that somebody else was present.
the flower was sitting off the edge of a ravine, and so a body coming flying from the depths of it was quite a sight to behold.
the two of you stare at eachother, before you begin your ascend to the surface, needing to get some air.
you notice the figure swimming up next to you, and decide it’s worth it to learn who this mysterious diver truly is. divers aren’t uncommon in fontaine for obvious reasons, so when you make it on land you didn’t expect the one to take off the helmet to be the youngest brother of the magicians.
“hello, my name is freminet”. he speaks, almost robotically. still a bit startled, you go to speak.
“nice to meet you freminet, my name is (y/n), it’s a pleasure to meet you”.
silence.
“so, um.. do you like the ocean?” the boy asks, a small blush coating his pale cheeks.
“that was the first time i’ve ever touched the waters of fontaine”. you reply rather formally, going back into rich boy mode.
“oh! cool..” he plays with his fingers.
more silence.
you two suck at talking.
from that moment forward (after the very awkward first meeting), freminet was attached to your hip. he followed you around everywhere, and his company didn’t seem to bother you whatsoever. you were one of the first people, who wasn’t one of his siblings, to tolerate his inability to hold a decent conversation, and freminet cherished that part of you,
on the other hand, you liked how freminet didn’t make you feel as though you needed to talk with him constantly to keep the newly formed friendship in tow. the two of you could sit on a bench for hours, barley conversate, however the atmosphere never differed from comfortable.
in a way, you were each others peace.
“hello again (y/n)! are you here to once more whisk my little brother away on a little date?” lyney asks, winking as he spoke. it wasn’t rare you came to collect the boy if you had something to do, and vise versa if freminet wanted some company while he worked.
you only rolled your eyes at the blonde, flicking his forehead (to which he winced slightly) before making yourself at home. by this point your migration to fontaine was close to hitting the 4 month mark, and in that time the trio of the hearth became almost family to you.
that also means waltzing into each others homes unannounced.
i’m not joking by the way, once you came home to lynette stuffing her face with a cake you bought earlier that day with lyney knocked out on your lounge. and you know what you did? ate the rest of the cake with lynette (you twos secret till this day) and markered all over lyneys face before taking a nap yourselves.
anyways, you made yourself at home before asking lynette where freminet was. she smiled to herself knowingly before directing you to the boys bedroom.
as you entered, a truly charming scene before you unfolded itself.
freminet was fast asleep on his bed, pers sitting on his nightstand. freminet had a book cuddled into his chest, his little snores filled the room.
smiling to yourself, you go to collect the book from his grasp, worried the edges might hurt him in his sleep, before something truly taken out of a romance novel happened.
instead, freminet grabbed your sleeve and yanked you down towards him. you always knew he was a clingy sleeper, having shared a DOUBLE BED with him beforehand, however freminet had a SINGLE BED.
in schock, you look at his peaceful face that was still dead asleep, before giggling to yourself.
you successfully take the book from his grasp and put it on the floor. then you look up to the ceiling. the artwork of sea creatures and hanging bubbles from his roof was truly a mesmerising sight, his entire bedroom being themed off the ocean. everything about him drawer you in more and more.
you failed to realise that the ‘more and more’ was now directly next to you, clinging onto your chest. for the 100th time this day, you heart skipped a beat as the diver cuddled himself next to you.
‘fuck it’ you say to yourself, grabbing him gently by the waist and adjusting him so he was on your chest sideways, with you flat on your back with one arm around him.
‘you know, i think i could get used to this’. you think to yourself once more.
you didn’t know at the time, but the tune you assumed to be in your head was actually outside freminet bedroom window, being strung gently by a lyre. the figure of the person could not be seen to those passing by, but if you looked close enough..
you’d notice a jade green bard smiling to himself, an instrument of pure melodies resting upon his fingertips.

Your pirates of the Caribbean fanart is so beautiful! Please, please share tips for how to do that beautiful painting technique you used! <3
Hi, anon! Thank you so much, both for the compliment, and for the question💗✨
Edit: I've reached the 30 pics per post limit and will have to make a part 2, oopsie daisies. But I'm sure it won't be as long as this :"D
In terms of technique, I guess it depends which part exactly you're talking about, because most of it is just oil painting+pencil drawing made digital, where I sort of block my colours first, then blend as I see fit (or in some parts don't blend at all, which is what some classical painters do; it's really just habits and preferences from years of experience) and add details using a pencil brush.
If you're interested, stay tuned as I try and give some tips while showing my whole process using this lovely photo of Commodore as an example:
Part 1. The basics
I usually only use these 2 brushes, just because I like them a lot, rarely more than that; and I've changed the settings on the second one so it rotates in the direction of a stroke instead of being at a fixed angle.
SO, firstly I just make a sketch of course, then make a very rough base colour layer underneath it, not too dark, not too light, and fill in the background with a solid colour.
(don't be fooled, I don't actually name my layers cause I'm way too lazy for that)
Since we're talking about digital painting here, my biggest tip would be to make a habit of picking the right colours manually, like you would an for an actual oil painting, instead of using the eyedropper tool on the source. Colour matching is an insanely useful skill, it's like relative pitch in music, or an accurate eye in architecture; while it's not absolutely necessary to have it, you'll want it if you want less burden on your brain and more freedom of expression. "Learn the rules to learn to break them" kind of thing (and you'll be able to match the colours to the picture in your head as well, how cool is that? Hehe) I've done this so much that at this point I just do it for the hell of it. It's very fun :D And, as you might've guessed, I do it for the entirety of the process, with some rare exceptions. While I used to do so in the past, I don't like to use blending modes (eg. soft light, overlay, multiply, etc.) for shading anymore. I find it takes all the excitement out of the whole process for the sake of cheap dopamine, and it used to hinder my skill development because I wasn't learning to "speak the language" of art, I just "used google translate", so to speak.
Anyways... A sketch, then a rough midtone colour layer underneath + background:
Another great tip: I learned it from a video on good costume design in fantasy, which is so unrelated to painting that you're probably like "wha- what..?", BUT... the tip was "the costumes don't have to be historically accurate, they just have to make sense in the story". Your colours don't have to match your reference perfectly, they just have to make sense inside the painting, and that's what will make your art feel alive (along with other things ofc).
Next I create another layer on top of all that and get to actually paint, and this is where the blocking part comes in.
There is a really good video on this subject if you want to learn this kind of technique, and an Instagram page of a different artist that I've been immensely admiring for some time now. Although now that I think about it, neither of them use midtones as a base... Anyway,
I start with the darkest shadows, moving on towards lighter ones, noting some places where the they reflect more blueish/grayish tones of his uniform on his neck and jawline, and where they reflect the reddish environment on his nose, temple, cheek, ear, and neck.
Another great artist to help improve lighting skills.
I frequently make new layers on top of everything as I go, just so that I have some room for error and can delete them later if I'm not satisfied, and then merge them down if I am, because I hate being indecisive with too many changes, and having unnecessary clutter.
Sometimes if I don't like how a certain colour looks on the painting, I undo the stroke (or paint on top, if it's too late to undo) and just tweak it on the wheel until it looks right to my eye and move on. Eg. on the next screenshot, I didn't like how that blue from the sketch looked one the screenshot before, so I adjusted it a little with Hue/Saturation.
I also like to slightly exaggerate the palette so that it looks a bit more interesting:
The last thing I usually do is light, with tiny highlights being the absolute last, because both are very easy to overdo. I manually pick the colour from the colour wheel, make a few strokes where it's supposed to be the brightest, and then use eyedropper tool to sample different spots from the freshly-painted areas to make it easier to blend.
Now while that colour might look pretty light, it isn't light at all. To be fair, the difference between light and shadow isn't even that big sometimes. I used to overshoot with either of them in the past, picking either too light or too dark, and was frustrated and baffled why my painting was looking as shit as it was.
So I guess another tip: for lights, pick the colour much closer to your midtone than you think you need, and then adjust accordingly. The reason being: your eyes and brain are partners in crime and are constantly lying to you.
The (I guess second) base is done, and at this point, it's just a matter of staring at his face for 2, or however long, hours and adding more and more strokes, sampling different spots between them, until I like how it looks.
Sometimes, if I realize that either the proportions are a bit off or some lines don't look the way they're supposed to, I use some Photoshop tools to my advantage. I merge everything together (cause at this point I really don't plan on changing the sketch itself or the background), and use Liquify to move things around. So now it's a one-layer painting, just like the real deal lol
And then I continue doing the same thing I'd done before with all the other parts.
Liquify on his face:
I only lightly paint over most sketch lines because I'm really not that concerned about some of them peeking out, especially at this stage, nor am I very pedantic.
Don't forget about subsurface scattering in areas where light meets shadow, of course:
If I see a place like this where I need a smooth gradient but don't feel like actually doing it cause it'll ruin the ~vibe~, and really, I just wanna add more a bit more pizzazz, I just take the pencil brush and hatch over it instead, alternating the darker and the lighter tones.
The caravat:
A lot of the time professional artists will advise you to look for simple shapes in things - squares, circles, triangles, rhombuses, etc. I'm no exception. Simple shapes will let you see patterns and some sort of order. It's easier to understand complex shapes that way, whether it be fabric, faces/bodies, or inanimate objects.
As you can see here, my brain mostly likes to look for triangles, or half-circles. It just feels right 👌
The wig:
I learned to use translucency, with hair and light fabrics fading into background, from watching and doing watercolour. Here's one of my all-time favourite watercolour artists that does that sometimes, and it looks absolutely stunning: 미술부화실 misulbu
The waistcoat and the jacket:
The hat:
Another thing to point out, if you haven't noticed already, I really like my stokes straight unlike myself, with exceptions, of course. It's another habit I picked up from watching other people draw, as well as my years of studying art professionally. Teachers taught me to use straight criss-crossing hatches to indicate form, instead of curved ones (there was a really cool tiktok showing that kind of technique, but I can't find it :(). Not that I follow their advice in its intended way majority of the time lololol but um... yeah...
So anyway, this is the end of part 1, I'll try to finish the second part tomorrow. It will be about smaller details, texture, and an tiiiny bit of 🔥grime🔥

My summer makeup – what I use and why.
My summer makeup routine is quite simple, mainly because I live in the humidity equivalent of a rice cooker. I deal with high humidity and high temperatures all summer long and most of the time, the makeup is just there to make me feel a little more pulled together. So here’s what I use.
Matte concealer – NYX Can’t Stop Won’t Stop Concealer
Depending on the day, I will or won’t let this concealer with a powder. Some days I don’t and the concealer sets on it’s own beautifully, and some days I do since it’s so moist outside that if I don’t it will just come off my face. A matte concealer works to counteract the sweating and humidity that I deal with. If you are looking to emulate this, I would definitely suggest a thin, matte concealer, that way when you do sweat and if the makeup gets broken up, it’s not in thick layers on your skin. The name of the game is thin layers that don’t weigh down your skin.
Highlight – Tower 28 Beauty SuperDew No Shimmer Highlight
I am not a massive fan of powder highlight unless I’m going to be photographed, so I like having a “wet” highlight. This one doesn’t clog my pores or irritate my skin, so that’s why I pick this one. If I get sweaty, the highlight pulls together the (un)intentional dewy look. You’ve just gotta work with the sweat if you live where I do. This highlight looks the most natural on me while still being noticeable. The name of the game with wet highlights is not being able to feel them once they’re applied.
Mascara – elf cosmetics lash ‘n’ roll mascara
Mascara pulls my looks together for me; if I only want to wear one bit of makeup, it’ll usually be mascara. This one is affordable for me, doesn’t irritate my eyes, and wears well. I haven’t had issues with humidity effecting the mascara beyond drooping the eyelashes. I personally go for a more natural lash look without clumping and with tapered length effects on the lashes.
Shimmer eyeshadow – colourpop shadow palettes
I just like shimmer eyeshadow. I go for chunky almost glittery eyeshadows, which make an illusion of moisturized skin from a distance. This is a way to get a ‘wet’ look without actually having sticky eyelids. I like colourpop (eye)shadow a lot, it’s never irritated my eyes or skin, and it’s affordable for me. I reach for Deja Brew in the summer a lot and Petals en Pointe in the winter. I really like one color all over the lid and blended out and these are good for me to do that. You can use literally any eyeshadow though. I would stress having one that you know doesn’t irritate your eyes so that if any sweat gets into your eyes, you can naturally cry/rinse it out with limited irritation.
Matte Lipstick – merit signature lipstick
Soft matte lips are low maintenance and flattering. I personally don’t wear nude lips or natural-coloured lipsticks since I find my lips to be pigmented enough as they are. I’ll normally wear coloured lips if it’s something like a red. The right soft matte lip will feel like nothing on the lips and wear down better than a balmy formula. It also eliminates any stickiness on your lips that may cling to hair or add more weight to your face when your sweating. The soft matte lip isn’t the 2016 caked on matte lipstick, instead it’s a thin layer of matte lipstick or a thin layer of blotted off satin lipstick. This leaves a barely-there feeling while having pigment on your lips.
Lip Oil / Balm – Merit Shade Slick lip oil / Merit flush balm
If you do want that extra slip on your lips, I would still suggest wearing something lighter than a lip gloss. You totally can if that’s what you’re used to, but I find that lip oils and balms tend to be lighter and less sticky. Shade Slick has no fragrance and very flattering shades while the Flush Balm also has no fragrance and has a comfortable balm slip to it. It’s just whichever you prefer. It totally does not have to be these lips that I mentioned; Burts Bees has a really nice tinted lip balm, the drug store has some great lip oils now, and you can even just get a matte lipstick and layer on a little balm on top for the same look.
Overall, this look is just meant to be a little bit more than nothing. It’s for the days where you do want to wear something, but you don’t want to have to lock it down like drag makeup to keep it in place. An aspect of this routine is that it will wear off, just evenly wearing off. Feel free to take this routine and make it your own with what you prefer/what works best for you, and let me know if there are any summer products you swear by.
Happy travels – Annie, the crosseyed cricket.

Perhaps my first worldstate will be Nasrin's, Vivienne as Divine. I never expected the tie-in cardgame bioware threw together to introduce the Dragon Age Keep would take over my brain the way it did, but taking a bad throw from The Last Court and creating Nasrin was delightful. I love her and Vivienne together. This was one of the last fics I wrote for them. Art my @villnis-archive
The party is delightful. Josephine has not outdone herself–Vivienne expects that none of them have seen the ambassador truly stretch the limits of her capabilities. Some things, even at the end of the world, are too vast. But the pleasantry rolls off her tongue and Josephine accepts it with grace and barely a glance over to the petit-fours that are, if overheard, ragged whispers are to be believed, “Just not quite right, Leliana. Stop laughing.”
“You have more reason to celebrate then the rest of us, madame Vivienne,” Josephine says now, the lights from the chandeliers dripping restored light through her hair and over her skin.
Vivienne smiles. “Perhaps. Things shall be frightfully busy.”
So say I to the one person here who has any right to protest her own workload. The thought is rueful, kept contained. If Josephine suppresses any sardonic looks, the effort does not show on her face.
People surge and swell around them, leaving drifts of conversation behind. Dagna stares at refracted light through a wineglass, leaning back against Sera, who stands with arms looped through the other woman’s and a softer expression on her face than Vivienne has ever seen. Her free hand tugs at a tablecloth, careful mountains of glassware creaking ominously as the fabric shifts. Leliana had ordered clear space along with tonight’s musicians in a fit of whimsy, and Varric and Cassandra are carefully not dancing. They stand close, shoulder pressed to arm, eyes anywhere but each other. Cullen attempts to blend in with one of the old armour sets against a far wall, and Vivienne wonders, for as much time as it takes for her to check his movement and swallow some of her drink, when the Templar stopped being the first person she noticed in any shared space.
The Inqusitor, patches of new-healed skin still showing raw across her cheeks and the backs of her hands under her wealth of light, has a hand resting on the ersatz Blackwall’s shoulder, lips pinched as he offers words Vivienne cannot quite pick out over the crush. They, she thinks, looking at the shape of Narsin's mouth, are speaking Orlesian.
Bull raises a tankard in her direction. Vivienne bites back a sigh.
“Madame?”
“Forgive me, darling. I find myself distracted. It is a lovely party.”
A tucked-up smile from the ambassador. “I should rescue the punch table from Sera. Please excuse me.”
“Good luck,” Vivienne says. “For my part, I—”
—Nasrin is heading toward the door, brushing off curious hands and thanks with increasing fervour the closer she comes to her destination. Her head is up, her colour high, and Vivienne almost laughs. It’s an old walk. The kind the marquise would have had tutors for, that Vivienne had learned from need.
Eyes front. Shoulders back. Move like the world cannot touch you, darling.
“A moment of your time, Inquisitor?”
She is smiling as she steps in front of Nasrin, the corners of her mouth aching from the effort of keeping things seemly. Nasrin startles at her voice, eyes widening.
“I thought—you said there were preparations,” she stammers, back resting against the doorway that leads from the great hall to her chambers.
“Honestly, my dear.” Easy to move a hand, let it brace on the stone just by Nasrin’s face. “These are preparations. And I would never miss your party.”
“I don’t think I could say the same.”
Vivienne laughs, eyes moving as Nasrin swallows. She wants to catch each tiny movement. “I know. Still, I would like a word.”
“I—of course.” Nasrin turns, still within the light cage made by Vivienne’s body, and the door opens under her hands. They both step through.
“You have been avoiding me, my dear.”
Nasrin does not want to die. The effort of not dying over the past few months shows in every twinge of muscle, each curl of pain that ghosts the bones of her arms, her fingers and the back of her skull, the straight bones each leg. But she thinks she might, with Vivienne in her space, hands wrapped fast about her own as she draws Nasrin out into the balcony.
“I—”
“—I know why, marquise. And it is all right.”
Nasrin swallows. “Do you?” she asks. “Is it?”
“I was not fair to you, over the wyvern. The cure for my Bastien.” Pain flickers across her face, clear even though Nasrin is turned into the glare of the setting sun. “I would do everything again, of course,” she says. “But I am aware of—”
“—he is important to you,” Nasrin says. Not was. Importance does not care about bodies. She tugs at the ring she wears on a chain that hangs to the base of her throat. The thank you gift for dangerous alchemy that did not do its job. “I would always help. I—”
“—you care for me, darling,” Vivienne says. “A great deal.”
The floor is solid. Good stone. Old as gods. It shouldn’t be. “This is what you want to talk about?”
“You have made me Divine,” Vivienne says, head tilted to the side. “Not solely you, of course. But your influence has allowed me to find doors I did not know could be opened. As I’d hoped. And I have helped you a great deal, of course. Your own fear of magic is considerably—”
“—are you babbling, madame?”
“—I care. Very much.”
Nasrin has too much skin. Clothing rasps, and if she looks up, if she sees the small, soft smile that graces Vivienne’s face, she is unsure if she will ever breathe again. A whimper is caught up in her throat along with all her air.
Vivienne’s hands move to her cheeks, fingertips blooming cold as the anchor in Nasrin’s left hand flares in response to the small magic. Nasrin feels it trickling through her skin. Her lips part.
“Breathe, my dear,” Vivienne says, stern. “If you insist I must then you ought return in kind.”
Nasrin turns her face into the other woman’s touch, Her lower lip grazes a fingertip, sticking in a shock of pain as cold flares into heat. She gasps. Vivienne closes her eyes.
With an effort, Nasrin pulls back, unable to stop herself from running her tongue over her lower lip. “Why tell me now?” she asks.
“I have told you before,” says Vivienne. “But sometimes we deserve something explicit, don’t you think?”
Who can think?
Vivienne is not done. She reaches out again, one hand twining with Nasrin’s marked one. “Thanks to our efforts,” she says, “I am going to be exceptionally busy. But I did not want you to ever—I had a concern you might—” she breaks off. “You must never doubt me, Inquisitor.”
“Nasrin,” says Nasrin.
“Your pardon?”
“Please,” she whispers, and the sound is so much smaller than it should be that Nasrin is surprised it isn’t lost under the sound of her own heartbeat. “I am just my name, with you,” she says. She lifts her free hand, palm up. “And perhaps this?”
“Your right hand?”
“Yours,” Nasrin says. “If you are the next Divine.”
Slowly, Vivienne drops Nasrin’s left hand and reaches for the chain around her neck. She tugs. The metal snaps as she does, a small line of pain on Nasrin’s skin, but she does not move. She keeps staring up at the mage as she picks up the gold ring she had crafted with careful fingers.
Nasrin raises her right hand.
They are both silent as Vivienne slides the ring onto the forth finger there. Her eyes are intent as she lowers her head, and Nasrin swallows another gasp as Vivienne lets her lips drag across the knuckles. Acceptance and promise, understood in touch.
“Kiss me,” Vivienne says, voice fainter than Nasrin has ever heard. “Kiss me and seal it, Nasrin.”

Someone’s probably asked already but would you be willing to share your art process from sketch to render/colour? Your art is always so pretty and colourful and I’d love to know how you do it
hi anon! i've talked about it a while ago but my process has changed a bit my latest work has had considerably limited palettes just bc star wars is very monotone! (black to grey to white, with some exceptions) this can seem irritating, especially if you like colour. but i just dial up the blues and greens so they still read as cold (artificial space light) or throw some purple in if i want warmth (proximity to luke, in sunlight etc) with din and luke skin/hair, i pick colours that are somewhat desaturated because the dark blues in the rest of the scene will punch them up and make them vibrant!
so its really another case of classic complimentary colours/colour theory. other tips are sharing colours, even if its not your first instinct.
so luke and grogu have this colour in common, which makes things cohesive and, bc they r the only two figures "out of uniform" (aka not grey/black/etc) they don't stand out entirely so when I'm drawing the same environments and characters, i build a colour vocabulary around them! which is this
but is different for other characters ive drawn!
you can also try gradient maps as i think they create cohesion similarly! its also worth noting that apart from lines, i draw all on one layer. so all my colours, i pick myself instead of using layer types like multiply etc. i have no issue with layer types, i just get better results using my own eye! it also means i can blend etc more naturally
#art tutorial#u can check this tag btw i have more in there#my art#clip studio paint#gradient maps#colour theory#color theory#long post

Carrot Pineapple Muffins
The recipe for the muffins seen here, well. Sort of anyway.
Recipe as written, on a page from maybe a website or book? I just have a photo copy I reprint as needed (read: as the paper falls victim to mishaps)
1 1/2 cups flour
1 cup sugar
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp salt
2/3 cup salad oil
2 eggs
1 cup finely grated raw carrot
1/2 cup crushed pineapple with juice
1 tsp vanilla
Sift flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon and salt together in large bowl. Add oil, eggs, carrot, pineapple and vanilla.
Blend on low speed until all is moist, then beat for 2 minutes at medium speed. Half fill greased muffin tins and bake at 350 F for 25 minutes.
Makes 24 muffins. -Mrs. W. Atkins Agincourt, Ontario
Well thank u Mrs. Agincourt, the impact uve had on my life is not insubstantial. If you would like these muffins id def reccomend just making them as is...
however... u dont have a recipe in your life this long and Not Fuck With It.
Number One alteration that ive never NOT done (well maybe once by accident?) blend those pineapples. well it very well might be to ppls preference to have little morsels of pineapple in there. but a blended pineapple slurry just makes it like. applesauce muffins. just a nice moist texture throughout idk
Number 1.5 is u can make this a cake if u like. i guess thats obivious. BUT. Its good. i had this for many a birthday. ice that shit, normal buttercream please what is with the cream cheese obsession i dont know. do what u like but dont limit urself to expectation okay. Bakes into a nice really brown cake. U gotta bake this recipe like 'well done' if u want it to have any kind of structural intregrity so its kinda? crusty? i like it tho.
Number 2. ratios. in an impluse that im sure started in some healthy eating for the kids blah blah. but its just how i make it now. I tend to increase the pineapple and decrease the oil and use one egg? how much?? ehhhhhh..... like like a cup of pineapple. and 1/3 oil? does that math out? probably not idk. dont do it like how i do it maybe probably but thats how i do it
ALSO. MORE CINNAMON. Live deliciously. could go up to a tbsp of cinnamon honestly. Maybe even apple pie or chai spices. Could do whatever.
Number 3. definitional quibbles. "makes 24 muffins" whos muffins.... i find this tends to make me about 15 large muffins. maybe 16-18 if u want to be safe from over flow? and more if u want to fill em with a jam thing.
"finely grated carrot" using a grater with wholes less that like... idk half a centremeter gives me a bad time. u want like. chedder cheese size not parmesan.
oh also "salad oil" i use canola or vegatable. is that what it means by that? [makes i dunno noise] you could sub with various melted fats. there would be differences but not a big deal. butter or marg or coconut. whatever.
Number 4. Process. Oh mostly just I mix all the liquids together and then add them to the dry ingredients. (u could pop them all into blender together if u want) im mixing this shit by hand so u know. usuaully i do carrots a dry ingredient but that might not even be a good choice again ignore what im doing.
and again bake time. Ur really gonna want to check on them to to make sure their done. like toothpick check colour check whatever. their moist so its not a big like. over cook problem i think. AND i think theyre really good after sitting in the fridge or freezer and getting reheated (fresh baked goods are soooo tasty but a microwave is also a wonderful invention)
post thought. the jam. i dont usually fill these muffins usually i save that for applesauce ones, but i did last time. i tend to just heat whatever frozen berries, little lemon or lime juice. uhhhh maybe 1/4 cup of sugar? in a small sauce pan. how much fruit. ??? enough. i fill each muffin with like. a tablespoon. so idk. math that one out. needs to be a thick sauce! (however if its TOO thick then u also lose out on messy pick apart muffin treat. ur call) and chilled. if u wanna avoid Big Mess Muffin. lmao. u could swril the jam in or whatever else to but. effort.
#some shit#howssss this lmao#as always all my cooking/baking experience is EXTREMELY. oh eh you know#when they say baking is a science u gotta know. theres a lot of ways to do science.

Hey guys,
Last year I barely shopped Fenty Beauty products and this year I feel like I can’t stop! If you live in the uk you might know that Fenty Beauty is now available in Selfridges which is a big deal. To celebrate the launch of the brand landing in Selfridges they have started with a limited edition summer collection you can only get there. So naturally I had to browse the collection and let’s face it, I never leave empty handed do I!
In Fenty Beauty's new summer collection they have launched 2 new formulas we have seen before which includes Baked Blushers and Gloss Bomb Lip Oils! As you can imagine I was so excited to see the new formulas in person and they did not disappoint.
The first product I picked up (and was the reason I went in) was the Hot Cheeks Baked Blush £24.00 in the shade Fresh Peach. Personally I have only used cream blushes from Fenty so I was beyond excited their formula was extending to baked blushers. I'm a big fan of this formula because it is the perfect mix of blush and highlighter giving your skin a pigmented glow and flush of colour. This blush comes in 3 shades but I decided to play it safe and go for the fairest shade which is sheer pink shade. The formula blends like a dream especially paired with the Fenty Beauty foundation.
The second new product I picked up was the Gloss Bomb Lip Oil , £21.00 in the shade Frosted Bunz. We have seen so many versions of the Gloss Bombs over the years but never a Lip Oil so I was really excited to try it out. Frosted Bunz is described as a Amber Gold shade which looks stunning on the lips! This new formula is described as a slick, shimmer gloss that is a non-stick formula to give your lips the ultimate shine. What makes this formula more unique than others is that it is a gel-oil texture with a coconut-vanilla scent. I'm also a huge fan of the new applicator because the shade makes gliding on the lips even easier.
Overall a very successful shop, if you are looking to shop these products don't leave it too long as they are limited edition. Like Rihanna's other summer collections, once they are gone that's it so don't miss out! As always all products mentioned are linked above.
Lot's of love,
Bella x x

Writing/OC art asks for whichever OC you'd like!
pencil, paintbrush, Copics, tortillon, pastels, and creative!
Thanks! :D I'll do this for Yo-han from The Case Files of Seo Yo-han:
Pencil: does this character have any "sketchy" habits? Have they ever broken the law? Do they regret it?:
He doesn't exactly have any sketchy habits (apart from being interested in other people's business :P ), but he technically breaks the law twice: at the end of Silver Glass and the start of Houses Full of Deceit. In SG he lets a murderer go (but under the circumstances it would have been worse not to let him go) and in HFOD he lets an assassin stay in his house.
Paintbrush: How often does your character "brush over" conflict instead of facing it head on? Is there something specific they don't like to face, or do they avoid conflict as a whole?:
He's a detective, so seeking out conflict is basically his job :P When not detecting, though, he tries to avoid his family. Specifically his stepmother, because he once accused her of poisoning his mother (who was actually dying of cancer). Which makes family reunions slightly awkward ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ (In his defence, he was thirteen at the time.)
Copics: what is this character's most expensive habit or hobby? Do they ever feel guilty about the money they spend on it?:
Travelling the world to solve mysteries. Guilty? Not really, but sometimes he gets tired of it.
Tortillon: does your OC "blend in" with the people around them? Physically? Metaphorically?:
Not really. He's Korean and so far the other main characters are British, Hungarian or Armenian, and he notices things no one else does.
Pastels: Give me three colours that best represent your OC. Now give me three colours that your OC likes best. Is there an overlap?:
Hmm... when I pick colours that represent an OC, I pick ones they wear at least once. Unfortunately men's clothes in 1915 had a very limited selection of colours ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Sooo... black, white and grey, I guess?
His favourite colours: dark red, purple and light blue.
Creative!: free space! Share something you've been dying to share about your writing! Could be an OC that never gets the limelight, a moment you were proud of, or anything else you'd like to share:
I've talked about Yo-han, so now I'll talk about his arch-enemy :D
An Ji-hun started out as a supporting character in Like Snow on Hungry Graves, where he was a hitman working for Rusudan who fell in love with a mer. (A different mer than Hariye; that poor kid's been through enough without having to deal with Ji-hun too.) Several outline revisions later, and I realised his subplot no longer fit the story. So his character got cut.
Then when I started planning Houses Full of Deceit, I realised I needed another assassin. And since it's set in Korea, why not reuse the Korean assassin I've already invented? So that's how Ji-hun went from a fantasy kingdom based on medieval Georgia to a semi-realistic 1910s Korea :D
(Incidentally his appearance is based on Lee Dong-wook as Seo Moon-jo. This started as an in-joke because Rusudan collects her victims' teeth like Moon-jo. After he moved WIPs this becomes a different in-joke, because Seo Yo-han's surname is a reference to Moon-jo.)
Adding The Unfortunate Moth's and Silver Glass's taglists: @akindofmagictoo, @lightgriffinsect, @original-writing, @zonnemaagd, @oh-no-another-idea, @verba-writing, @kittensartswriting, @writingpotato07, @sarahlizziewrites, @acertainmoshke, @author-a-holmes, @sam-glade, @late-to-the-fandom (Let me know if you want to be added to/removed from the taglist!)

Hype Bags: Stylish and Practical Picks for Trendy Teens
Teens who like carrying around their essentials with a bit more of an on-trend twist, have caused the popularity of the hype backpack to flourish. Featuring designs that are not just bold but include practical functionality, hype bags have fast become the must-have accessory for trendy youth. These are stylish looking bags which serve the everyday purpose, whether it is for school/college or casual outing and even travel. In this guide, we will break down what makes hype backpacks great and then give tips for choosing the ideal one to complement your style as well as lifestyle.
Why Hype Backpacks Are So Popular
The rise of hype backpacks can be linked to their unique designs and functionality. Many teens are drawn to the bold colours, iconic logos, and graphic prints characterising these bags. The stylish appearance adds flair to daily outfits, allowing young people to express their personalities through accessories.
Functionality is also a key factor in their popularity. These bags usually include features such as multiple compartments for organising school supplies, laptops, or personal items. The combination of style and practicality means that students no longer need to choose between a fashionable or useful backpack.
What to Look for in a Hype Backpack
Some features should be prioritised when selecting a hype backpack to ensure the bag is stylish and practical. The size of the backpack should match your needs. A larger bag may be necessary for carrying textbooks or gym gear, while a smaller one could work for everyday use. It is important to pick a bag that fits well and sits comfortably on the shoulders.
Durable materials are also essential. Look for backpacks made from quality fabrics such as nylon or polyester, which can withstand daily wear and tear. Reinforced stitching and strong zippers add extra strength, ensuring the bag lasts through the school year.
Popular Designs for Hype Bags
There are various hype bag designs catering to different tastes and preferences. Some feature bold logos or striking patterns that catch the eye, making them ideal for those who enjoy standing out. Others may have a minimalist style, which appeals to those who prefer something more subtle.
Many hype backpacks come in limited editions or special collaborations with artists, offering exclusive designs. These can be highly sought after, making them practical and collectable items for fashion enthusiasts.
Hype Backpack Features That Make a Difference
The features of a hype backpack can greatly impact its usability. Adjustable and padded straps provide comfort and help distribute weight evenly, which is important for preventing strain on the shoulders. A breathable back panel can also add comfort, particularly during warm weather.
Multiple compartments are useful for keeping items organised. Many hype backpacks come with a laptop sleeve, side pockets for water bottles, and internal dividers for smaller accessories. This organisation helps keep everything in its place, making it easier to find what you need quickly.
How to Style a Hype Backpack for Different Outfits
Styling a hype backpack can be fun and allows for some creativity. When going for a casual look, choose a backpack with bright colours or bold prints that complement simple clothing like jeans and a T-shirt. On the other hand, a black or neutral-coloured backpack can suit a smart-casual outfit, such as a shirt and trousers, without clashing.
The key to making the backpack work with any outfit is balance. The bag should add to the look, not dominate it. Pairing the bag with matching accessories, like hats or sneakers in similar colours, can create a cohesive style.
The Role of Hype Bags in Streetwear Fashion
Streetwear has become a significant part of youth culture, and hype bags have a role to play in this trend. These backpacks often feature urban designs that blend seamlessly with streetwear staples such as hoodies, trainers, and oversized jackets. They add an extra layer of style and provide functionality simultaneously.
For many, the hype backpack is a statement piece that completes an outfit. It adds personality and reflects the latest fashion trends, making it more than a practical item.
Quality Materials Used in Hype Backpacks
The quality of materials used in hype backpacks influences their durability and appearance. Fabrics such as nylon and polyester are commonly used because of their strength and resistance to water. Some backpacks are also coated to add extra protection against rain.
Leather details, metal zippers, and reinforced stitching can be found on higher-end models, offering a premium feel. These elements improve the look and enhance the overall quality, making the bag more durable.
Lightweight Hype Bags for Everyday Use
A hype backpack does not have to be heavy to be durable. Lightweight options are available, made from materials that are both strong and easy to carry. This is particularly important for students who must carry their bags for long periods throughout the day.
The right lightweight backpack will still have all the necessary features, such as compartments and padding, but without the added bulk. It keeps things comfortable without compromising on functionality.
Keeping Your Hype Backpack Clean and Fresh
Maintaining a hype backpack is straightforward when following a few simple steps. Regularly wiping the bag with a damp cloth helps remove dirt and stains. For deeper cleaning, some backpacks can be hand washed or put in a washing machine, depending on the care label instructions.
Avoid overstuffing the bag, as this can cause unnecessary strain on the fabric and zippers. Proper storage, when not in use, will also help maintain its shape and quality over time.
Affordable Hype Backpacks for Budget-Conscious Shoppers
It is possible to find hype bags that fit a budget without sacrificing quality. Some brands offer more affordable options, including the essential features and stylish designs associated with hype backpacks. Comparing prices and reading reviews can help identify the best value for money.
Sales, discounts, and outlet shops are good places to look for deals on hype backpacks. Second-hand stores also offer lightly used bags at lower prices, providing a budget-friendly way to enjoy the latest trends.
Customising Your Hype Backpack for a Unique Style
Adding personal touches to a hype backpack can make it truly your own. Many customise their bags with patches, badges, or keychains to reflect their style. This makes the bag unique and adds a bit of fun.
Some backpacks have interchangeable elements like zip pulls or straps that can be swapped. This allows for further customisation, ensuring your hype bag stands out.
Why Hype Backpacks Make a Great Gift
A hype backpack can be a perfect gift for a fashion-forward friend or a student starting a new school year. The combination of style and practical features makes it suitable for different occasions. With so many designs available, finding one that matches the recipient’s personality is easy.
Whether for birthdays, holidays, or special milestones, hype bags offer a blend of fashion and function that makes them a thoughtful and stylish choice. In conclusion, hype backpacks have become a staple in youth fashion, blending style with practical features that cater to everyday needs. From bold designs to quality materials, these bags offer something for everyone. The trend shows no signs of fading as more people continue to embrace the hype style for its unique mix of fashion and functionality. Whether for school, streetwear, or casual use, a hype backpacks adds flair to any look and remains a must-have accessory for trendy teens.

How to Choose the Perfect Parisian Bistro Chairs for Your Home?
French bistro chairs are now a popular expenditure for most homes, mainly inspired by the Parisian style. New Arrival acrylic shelving units and kitchen accessories add French opera flavour and romanticism in your home. Here is an ultimate guide to follow so that you can select the good quality Parisian bistro chairs for your home.
Consider the Material
Different types of materials are used in the making of Parisian Bistro chairs. The types used most frequently are the rattan, the wicker, the metal and the wooden types. In its own way each material fulfils the specific need or desire of a person. Rattan and wicker chairs give such a furniture niche an old fashioned or retro feel to it. It is portable and can be used indoors and outdoors; they are strongly forged and cannot be easily deformed. Metal chairs however look more stylish; they have that modern twist to their whole look.
Pick the Right Colour
The colour is also a factor to consider while choosing bistro chairs. The chairs that are usually used in the traditional Parisian bistro are typically painted in colours such as beige, white or black. These colors are multi-talented because they can be easily blended with nearly any home décor. For good illumination try adding colored chairs in bright colors such as red, blue or green. Large areas with common use can be made vibrant with the use of bright colours.
Think About Comfort
Comfort should never be overlooked. The chairs used in the cafes are commonly the Parisian bistro chairs since the people who occupy them sit for a long time. As a result, they are aimed at being as comfortable as possible. It is recommended to look for chairs with a comfortable sitting surface such as cushioned ones or having curved backrests. If you find some of the chairs with no cushioning, you will be able to fix your own cushion or even your seat pads in order to make reclining more comfortable.
Choose a Style that fits into your Room
There are as well different types of material that are used in the current Parisian bistro chairs ranging from the more traditional to the contemporary. Select one that provides the interior of your home a particular ambiance that you want. To create an atmosphere for Parisians, you should choose chairs with patterns and with curved legs. However, depending on the style of your home, the type of chairs to buy should be in harmony with the over ambience. The styling of the chair should complement the rest of the area and create a mood that is wishy-washy for the area.
Pay attention to the Size and Space
Before purchasing the chairs it is important to measure the area where the chairs will be placed. Ensure that the chairs do not occupy much space while at the same time fitting well. If you are to use the chairs with limited space then there are folding bistro chairs. These can be easily stacked out of sight when they are not required thus taking minimal space.
Test for Durability
It is expected that chairs which are commonly used in bistros in the Paris area should be strong; however, it is recommended that one should consider the strength of the chairs being used. Check that the chairs are durable and will last long and can be used often. If the chairs are going to be placed outside the homes, make sure that they are made of strong material that can withstand the effect of weather.
Getting the right Parisian bistro chair in Australia,to have at your own home does not have to be a difficult ordeal. In furniture, people should pay attention to the kind of material, colour, comfort, style, size, and the ability of the furniture to last a long time.

Can you explain why I had a good day today? I was playing the game and I was happy. I don't understand in what way I am supposed to pull away from this game
You stopped fighting. You knew where your limits lie. Your gut tells you where the line is and when not to step over. And today you listened.
So that's it? It took one day? You telling me I'm so good at integrating energy that it takes place overnight now? Am I missing something here?
[I overhear my mother on the phone "It's 10:15pm here, so it's 6:15pm in Vietnam right now...the (my uncle's) jewellery shop must be closed] Yes. We're done, so things being a struggle is just an appearance. It is that fast because it's already done.
What is the point of this. Why does it have to come up at all, if it is already done? Why do we still play this cause and effect game that has zero impact?
The game is finished. We pick things up, we put things down. We throw it at the wall and see what sticks. This did not stick, it slid.
Like a turd down a toilet. So now what? What are you going to choose next? And how do I reconcile all these change-of-minds...
Are you disappointed to realise that you are God? To know that this is is what I do? I can do as I please. What are you but a painting I am painting. You are just colours that I blended. You are what I lay down on the canvas. You are the hem of a dress I shift this way, then back again. The eye I scrub out and start again. The light and the shadow. I brush a stroke, lift the brush, dip it in water. Clean it. Get back to work. What do you want? What do you want?
Nothing I guess. I've known for a long time that there is nothing to hold onto anymore. Perhaps this is just more in that process of letting go completely. If I create my reality, it means I hold all the colours simultaneously and I am coming to terms with this sense of infinity. You didn’t answer my question before, what is going on with the energy now then?
Nothing much. A few dogs in the house wandering around, like loose thoughts being herded up before allowing oneself to rest. The same ideas as before, nothing new. You neglected the dog's water bowl, and you solved the issue instantly. There is a new turd in the hallway, what of it? Clean it up before you go to bed. Why not? Just a few chores.
So we're in a limbo right now? Essentially nothing is happening and we are stalling for nothing. This is my last question because I think this is ridiculous.
What? So what? I am god. I can stand back and look at the picture, can't I? Observe what I have done. Relax. You are nothing.
