Yesterday, Donald Trump was sworn in as president of the United States and signed more executive orders on Day 1 than any other president has signed in one year. Some are blatantly unconstitutional. Some are already being legally challenged and likely to be slowed or even overturned by the courts. All are designed to create chaos and inflict harm — ending birthright citizenship, declaring it the policy of the United States to discriminate against trans people, banning federal funding for programs affirming transgender people, and more.

So I've been working really hard to educate my former-Trumper father on all things LGBTQIA+ and it's been a bit of a struggle. He's pretty ignorant and has a LOT of biases but to his credit, since I expressed to him that I don't feel safe around him because of the things he believes and says, he's really been making an effort, right? So even though a lot of his questions are offensive, when I point out why they're offensive, he apologizes and tries to learn.

He also used to be in the US Army.

And yesterday, he called me up and he goes. "Okay so I have a question. If a Them is in the military, and they're a higher rank than me, what do I do? Because we call people Ma'am or Sir. And I just really don't know what to do!"

And it was the cutest fucking thing, because he sounded genuinely concerned.

And we started talking about how people who use they/them pronouns can have different gender identities and the best thing to do would be to ask the person what they prefer. But it was literally just the sweetest question, because he was genuinely thinking about it. I almost cried.

I can’t and I will not ever be anything except who I am nor express myself otherwise. :)

Because I simply can’t be anything but me. Sure I can blend. These photos are proof that I can express myself however the heck I want to. I’ll bend the expression of my gender with a shower and some clothes now days, it doesn’t take much.

This southern non-binary spiritual trans gender bending queer will not pretend. Ever.

I will try to flee. To spend another day being me, and one day I’ll return to my southern home when the time is right.

Please don’t give up the good fight my fellow transgender and nonbinary humans. Don’t be afraid of change. Don’t let it keep you in harms way if you can do something about it. Fight when you must but remember to save a little energy for yourself to keep fighting the good fight another day.

There is no shame in hiding if you can. There is no shame in running if you can. There is no shame in finding a way out and protecting yourself. There is no shame in surviving BUT DONT YOU DARE LEAVE ME! Don’t leave this world. Keep surviving my transgender nonbinary queer others! Make your moves and lean on the few people you can truly trust.

If you feel like no one cares and no one loves you, I do. I can’t change anything for you, right here and now, but you can know right now reading this that you are so loved and if you can keep living, one day who knows how life will bring us together and I can tell you I love you, in person holding your hand with tears streaming down my face. Protecting Children from Chemical and Surgical Mutilation Executive Order

Signed January 28, 2025

This executive order does the following:

Falsely claims that medical professionals are "maiming" children.

Claims, without citation, that "countless children soon regret that they have been mutilated and begin to grasp the horrifying tragedy that they will never be able to conceive children of their own or nurture their children through breastfeeding."

Refers to the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) as "junk science."

Instructs all federal agencies to repeal all children-related policies that rely on the WPATH's guidance.

Directs all agencies that fund medical schools and hospitals for research or education to force these schools and hospitals to stop providing gender-affirming care for children.

Gives permission to the Department of Health and Human Services to make changes to Medicaid and Medicare to stop gender-affirming care.

Cancels the “HHS Notice and Guidance on Gender Affirming Care, Civil Rights and Patient Privacy” policy signed in March of 2022.

Allows the Attorney General to revoke custody from parents who seek gender-affirming care for their children.

Ensures that federal employee health plans stop covering transgender-related surgeries and hormone treatments for children starting in 2026.

Directs the Department of Defense to change their insurance details to no longer cover surgeries or medications that alter a child's body, surgically or medically.

i redesigned this flag today because i fucking hate trump and his bullshit "protecting children from chemical and surgical mutilation" executive order. i can't believe i spent *ELEVEN YEARS* with such visible and present dysphoria, suffering so badly (mentally and physically) from it, just to get my hormones banned less than *TWO WEEKS*

the army can contact my mom asking if i'm interested in joining the military since i'm almost 18, but i'm still too young to go on hormones (in which many effects are reversible mind you) that will greatly improve my health and quality of life

In a major victory for transgender youth and their families, a federal judge in Maryland has blocked President Donald Trump’s executive orders that sought to strip away access to gender-affirming medical care for minors. The ruling, issued Thursday in Baltimore by U.S. District Judge Brendan Hurson, halts enforcement of the ban nationwide, preventing the Trump administration from withholding federal funds from hospitals and providers that offer gender-affirming care to patients under 19. The decision comes after weeks of chaos and fear triggered by Trump’s orders, which led hospitals across the country to suspend care for trans youth, leaving thousands in limbo. The lawsuit, filed by Lambda Legal, PFLAG, the American Civil Liberties Union, the ACLU of Maryland, and law firms Jenner & Block and Hogan Lovells, challenged the administration’s attempt to politicize and weaponize health care against transgender people. The court agreed, finding that the orders are likely unconstitutional and that Trump cannot impose such sweeping restrictions on medical providers. Brian K. Bond, CEO of PFLAG National, one of the plaintiffs in the case, called the ruling a moment of justice for families who had been forced to fight for their children’s basic medical care. “Good and decent parents of transgender kids should never be in the frightening position of having their child’s prescribed, medically necessary care canceled at the whim and threat of a politician,” Bond said in a statement. “But that’s exactly what President Trump’s executive order did to PFLAG families with trans youth and young adults nationwide. Today’s decision rights a grievous wrong to our nation’s families and children, and PFLAG families will be vigilant to ensure our transgender loved ones receive the healthcare they need—as this legal ruling demands.”

In PFLAG v. Trump, Judge Brendan Hurson issued a nationwide ruling halting Donald Trump’s cruel and capricious anti-trans executive order (EO 14187) banning gender-affirming care for those under 19 from taking effect.

I don't wish death on a lot of people. Everyone, regardless of whether I agree with their views or not, has a right to life, a right to a safe life, but watching Donald Trump and JD Vance bully and steamroll Volodymyr Zelenskyy in front of the media makes me wish someone had managed to nail one of the shots they took before that bloated wotsit got into office.
