i love percabeth so much that the idea of shipping either one of them with anyone else short circuits my brain. like percy jackson is dedicated to his one true love why would he kiss another personā€¦..
OKAY.
BUT- CONSIDER: Percy and Annabeth are two halves of the same whole.
Like to the point where they are the same person.
They move in sync. They can perfectly predict the others thoughts and movement patterns. They have entire conversations without saying a single word. And they are so much greater because of it! Because they have each other! And if you were a part of this unit, this astounding pillar of strength that is two in one wouldn't you want more? To share that WHOLENESS?
And if your other half did want to share that joy with others, would you resent them for it? Would you, who are their other half, not understand their need for more as your own? Would you not recognize it as your very own desire? If they wanted someone wouldn't you want that too?

watching episode 3 season 4 of superman and lois feels like watching season 7 of game of thrones aka recognizing huge cracks in storytelling as the first harbinger of absolute doom for the show but that most people cannot see and are therefore still psyched about, leaving those who CAN see it cassandras as they try to explain a narrative decline that nobody believes

no but buck telling bobby that maybe he's not ready for such an adult relationship is so telling and honestly so heartbreaking to me because he never really got to have the kind of fun, easy relationship that a lot of people get to experience before abby. sure he had tons of sex and definitely enjoyed it but something in him wanted something just a little bit more, something worth people sticking around for cute dates and relaxing hang outs, something not incredibly intense because that is something to build up to once you are comfortable in your skin and buck just didn't really get to experience that and when he was with abby he was still figuring himself out, mapping out his actual wants and needs and it gets derailed a little and that's not a bash against abby it's just what happened and a part of him knows that and is nervous and scared but he pushes on through anyways because he is earnestly and sweetly buck

Music sites and apps should have an option to decide if you want to see more of an artist you just listened to. As in sometimes i tap on a random song on ytb and for whatever freaking reason they think suddenly i only care about that artist and its genre; or like sptfy i mean you listen like five seconds of a random song and suddenly they classify you as that artist's nĀ°1 listener or sth. And no "private listening" isn't enough i need a "hey, this song/artist made me curious so I'll give it a listen, but don't recommend me anything else from them or its contemporaries please" option

I think that one thing people fail to understand is that unsolicited literary criticism coming from an online stranger who is reading with no knowledge of what the authors intended goal is, is not going to be received the same as say: the authors beta reader or friends who know what the authors intended goal and has the sufficient knowledge and input to help the author reach that desired outcome.
"But I'm only trying to be helpful" How do I know you have the knowledge and literary skill for you to be able to actaully do that when we don't know each other and you are essentially a stranger to me? Are you applying this criticism based out of personal biased experience and desire to see the story or characterization be driven in another direction or tweaked, or do you know the author's intentions for the character? If the story is incomplete, are you basing your criticism of a character on the incomplete narration with only partial information available of them or are you building up a report until the story's completion? Did the author provide you with the information needed to make a fully informed criticism?
Have you discussed with the author what their plans are or are you assuming them based off the narration, especially if the narration is proven or implied to be unreliable or missing key points of the plot? Are you unbiased enough to help them reach their desired outcome for the characters and story regardless of your personal feelings towards the characters/antagonists and setting? Can you handle being told your specific input isn't wanted because you're a reader and/or have no written anything relating to their genre or topic? Do you understand and respect that the author's personal experiences might influence their writing and make it different than how you would have done it personally? Do you understand if an author only wants input from a specific demographic relating to their story?
If it's for fanfiction or other hobby media, are you holding a free hobby to a professional standard? Are you trying to give criticism because you feel like the author has produced 'subpar job performance' of their fic? Are you viewing their work as a personal intimate outlet or something that must conform with mass media? Are you applying rules and guidelines when the fic is shared for simple sharing sake? Is your criticism worded appropriately and focused on the parts where the author has requested input on rather than a general dismissal and or disapproval?
Have you put yourself in a place where you assumed you have the input needed for the story to evolve better, or have you asked what the author needs and what they're having trouble with? Can you handle having your criticism rejected if the author decides their story doesn't need the change and not take it as a personal offense against your character? Are you crossing that boundary because you think you are doing the author a favor? Are you trying to be helpful, or do you just want to be?
I think sometimes when people hear authors go 'please don't give me unsolicited writing advice or criticism' they automatically chalk it up to 'this author doesn't want ANY constructive feedback on their stuff at all' and not "i already have trusted individuals who will help me with my writing goals and- hey i don't know you like that, please stop acting so overly familiar with me'

lived my whole life in guilt bc i thought i was responsible for people's feelings. newly realizing that other people are responsible for their feelings and reactions, even if they make it seem like i'm the problem. a lot of the time it really has to do w them and their own emotional regulation. i can't keep thinking i'm not allowed to have space bc of other people's insecurities. like i literally refuse to dim myself. other people are responsible for their feelings just as i'm responsible for mine.

the obsession with aesthetic-izing everything is a disease that companies have sold us via influencers. it's all about turning your private space into a perfect backdrop for videos and photos, everything has to be a soundstage to market a product. making you view your own private space like a voyeur, already imagining the comments people might leave if your home isn't what they deem ideal. your fridge does not need to be aesthetically pleasing, you don't need to empty out spices from plastic packaging into a glass jar of the exact same size of the original packaging. not everything has to be pinterest goals. there is so little time, just live life.

genuinely think dan just jumped at the first opportunity to make an apology video. this fucking theatre kid WISHES he had a legitimate reason to get up in front of his audience and emotionally manipulate them into forgiving him. he lives for the drama.
