zoros hands are so rough.

the skin broken and half healed and then broken again countless times over. his touch is heavy, grip tight an steady. he's a swordsman, it's to be expected.

it's dark out, the sunny swaying gently in the water, lulling you sweetly. the rest of the crew sound asleep in their quarters, not a single other person is awake for miles; you and him and the stars and the moon and the open seas.

you drop the persistent facade, and zoro does too.

the bickering and arguing set aside, instead opting for having you on his lap. neither of you speak, a knowing silence in the air. those three deadly though precious swords of his set aside and forgotten, still in arms reach should he need them but abandoned in favour of holding you.

there is a bottle of that nice liquor he'd gotten from the last island that rests next to the swords, unattended and forgettable; a glass half full of the too strong liquid sits waiting. it would be convenient to pretend this is all just a spur of false courage from the deep gold liquid.

his thick hands slide up the planes of your back, almost trembling a little as they do. as if something sacred lies beneath his fingertips, something he can long for but knows better than to dare pursue.

your skin is so much smoother, your flesh tender; soft buttery by comparison. you move your hands, feather light, over the jagged scarred skin of his chest and his arms, feeling the warmth of him radiate in waves and feeing the tight corded muscles ripple and twitch beneath your fingertips.

the ship is swaying still, steady and consistent, "i'm yours." whispered into the curve between your shoulder and neck, low and hoarse. the words unfamiliar on his tongue but they come out so naturally, so certain. he means them.

i'm yours.

yours in his entirety. it's not much, but he's never known you to be acquisitive. it's funny thing to say about a pirate, but you aren't greedy, never in a rush or impatient, never like that with him.

you'll have him as he is, all the fractured bits he has to offer, you collect carefully in your powerful delicate hand.

zoro knows this — and he won't ever ask for more.

broad rough hands caressing your skin. adoring you. worshipping you like he, a demon, deserves that privilege. your faces are so close to each others now. and the only ones getting witness your shared breaths: the stars, and the moon, and the seas. the sunny as well, but it's nothing new.

i am yours, but you will never be his.

he has so much already. too much. too much weight and duty. too many burdens and battles. to be his, to be zoros meant becoming that to him, it would only be adding onto it all. mounting higher and higher until the lot of it consumes him whole.

you would rather die. instead, you'll just hold him like the waiting will make a difference one day.

your lips brush, it's delicate and brief, hardly a kiss at all. but it's enough. it's sweet and it's kind. you somehow feel breathless.

his hands are twitching again, ever so subtly at the base of your neck, gliding over the skin with only the softest touches and cupping your jaw.

short, fleeting, innocent.

" 'm yours" he whispers again, so close you feel the soft vibrations of the sound on your skin. zoro says it like he needs it; needs it to be true to both himself and to you.

" you're mine"

and i am yours, you only wish you could add to your response.

Okay, so you guys know how like Docm77 sold out Joel's honey shop leading to Joel promptly saying he would be obsessed with the person that did this but what if we make it an College/Adult Au where Joel's obsessive behavior takes over what would happen to Ren because Ren and Doc to me are happily dating/married, Like I know they would never in a million years break up but if they did..  Does Joel wreck their marriage? Like do we make Joel a mistress for Doc.. bc like I  want to make it so that it ends as them being a throuple in which Joel was actually with the both of them behind both their backs and actually a College football/soccer team would be a perfect place for Ren and Joel to bond and like feel eachother out yk bc of scootball. This is about my Zombie Apocalypse Ghoap x Reader COD fic It Will Come Back in case ya'll are confused about my yapping. You don't have to have read my fic to read this though, there are no spoilers just a few references!

I really wanna write smut for this fic because it's a slow burn and I feel like if I make ya'll read 60k words just for a fade to black...you guys may kill me, but also of my own volition I do wanna write a smut scene (or several). I just feel like the fic so far focuses a lot on Readers emotional struggles so if I wrote smut it would be a lot more symbolic than sexually graphic. Something along these lines:

You are enraptured by their bodies. Strong limbs which engulf you in a long unknown warmth. Blood stained hands and calloused fingers knead at your flesh like they wish to pull some deep secret from beneath your skin. But there is nothing else to tell, you have never been laid down so bare. You feel so clearly the gnawing hunger within, like the ravenous dog that you are, and they have come at last to feed you. To fill you up with themselves, to satiate the emptiness that you didn’t know was so painfully eating away at your bones. An open palm to soothe the repulsive taste of your own stomach eating itself. 

They smell like stale sweat and dirt and you would devour them whole if you could. You would tear them apart with your canines and lick up the blood off their skin and you wonder if perhaps this is what the dead heads feel like when they eat people. You’re sick to your stomach with how full Ghost and Soap make you feel, because it has been so long since you have been fed. And you’re not sure if you want to lay tame and take another bite or sink in your teeth with a snarl just to prove your thoughts right, the thoughts that tell you that you do not deserve to be loved like this.

once he and stede retire, ed spends a lot of time experimenting with himself. new styles, new clothes, fun stuff he can do with his hair. literally anything and everything because he’s never been able to do that before! and it’s so fun!!!

stede is fully in support of it because duh obviously. it’s become a pretty regular thing for him to go out to town to buy groceries or whatever and come back to find ed all nice and dressed up and pretty. every time there’s something different and every time it’s a very pleasant surprise

so he’s coming back from the market, steps inside, and comes face to face with. a monster. what he looks like is up for interpretation. scales, claws, fur, tentacles, wings, horns. whatever. but point is there is a giant beast sitting right in front of the door and stede just drops everything he’s holding (he will be upset about the bruised fruit later)

one way or another, stede figures out that this is in fact ed and holy shit he ADORES him. stede spends the rest of the evening learning and exploring this new fascinating creature that’s actually his boyfriend???? ed had never dared to share something so secret about himself with anyone else, but god is he glad he showed stede because the reaction he got was priceless.

safe to say that this is definitely up there on stede’s list of surprises from ed
