honestly i feel bad for ostark. putting his absolute all into those scenes with tommy, dancing like rent is due to show how gobsmacked and into that man buck is, only for "his fans" to claim buck was just there out of convenience because he couldn't have eddie. it's such a disrespectful way to engage with media

When I tell you that I have read fanfic characterizations so OOC that they'd classify as an original character, trust me I have read THOUSANDS. But you know what I don't do? :) Tell the author of those fanfics that they might as well classify that character as an original character if they're going to write them like one. Because that's fucking rude. People don't owe you your preferred characterizations. The back button is free.

I find it fascinating (derogatory) how the general fandom conversation has shifted from "this woman is getting in the way of our gay ship and she's USELESS and ANNOYING and WE DON'T LIKE HER!" to this weird "no actually she's just not involved in her own relationships because she's too cool and special and awesome and a girlboss". But the problem is that there's not actually a veritable difference there. People still aren't engaging with her as a fully-fledged character. Like sure man calling her a girlboss is fine it's whatever but let that lead somewhere else. Engage with her. Can you actually name any of her character traits or are you just blindly praising her so that you can focus on shipping the guys in the background without feeling bad about it

what do you mean 911 just gave us arguably one of the most well written, well directed, and well acted episodes of, at the very least, the last few seasons, if not the entire damn show, and all a certain group of people can talk about is how it's not worth anything because eddie diaz wasn't in it

I saw a post that said “Dragon Age discourse walked so that Baldurs Gate 3 discourse could run” and that’s absolutely false. Dragon Age discourse sprinted, foaming at the mouth, so that BG3 discourse could skip happily through a meadow

antis: yeah i can agree it's wrong to generalize a group of people based on the actions of a few! that's the type of ideology that bigots use to justify their actions and it's just so horrible and wrong!
also antis the moment a single darkshipper is genuinely a bad person: wow this just proves my point about all "proshitters" being "pdf files"! "unalive" all "proshitters"!!! the only good "pdf" is an "unalived" "pdf"!!!! stop "normalizing" "🍇" you degenerates!!!!

I just think logan deserves to bottom after 200-ish years of being both touch-starved AND pigeonholed (so to speak lmao) as a strict dom top 🫡
(or so I imagine because cmon. who doesn't expect The Wolverine to be a dominant animal in bed?? give the man a break, wade is more than willing to step up to the plate and help logan catch up on all that time wasted not getting railed to within an inch of his immortal life 😜)
uncensored piece on bluesky (same username) 😘

"The male-male relationships that these 18th-century men desired did not use passionate heterosexual love as their model or language, but instead a masculine relationship of friendship, in which sexual desire was included." - Michel Rey, 1700-1750, Les sodomites créent une mode de vie
FUCKING THANK YOU.

ok i'm sorry i tried to not discourse but framing tommy as controlling when he ended their first date because buck clearly had no idea how to function as a queer person in public is straw-grasping shit! there's nothing wrong with acknowledging that buck was freaking out just existing with him and not wanting any part of that. buck's behavior was understandable but tommy didn't sign up for it
also it's bizarre to claim those interactions are controlling when he ended things by literally putting the ball in buck's court. basically "you aren't sure about being with me. have a think on it." then, hi. buck did. he got sure, without any other feedback from the other man. he made it very clear that he wants to be in this relationship. and tommy happily gave him a second chance. it's incredibly annoying to infantilize buck to justify your dislike of tommy. he actively chose him.

bells hells suffers so deeply from not having a diplomat in the group i am so serious. c1 had percy and vex and eventually keyleth. c2 had fjord and occasionally caleb and even beau grew into it as an explicit part of her arc. the hells have a high charisma caster whose only two modes are ‘greymoral girlboss’ and ‘i just work here’ and an overly deferential soldier who speaks from the heart but cannot handle a spotlight. they have no one who can or even will speak in a way that endears them to ANYONE; they are constantly combative, belittling, and defensive. every time they meet anyone in any position of authority i get genuine second hand embarrassment because it’s like watching a group of high school freshman try to get the last word in an argument with a teacher. i wish eshteross had lived long enough to get them some fucking etiquette classes

So, humanity is at over eight billion people. Time for a bit of statistics education for y'all, because I feel like it.
Okay, take a group that's around 1%. At least officially, it could possibly be higher. So like,
BPD: 1.6% officially
DID: 1.5% officially
Trans: 1.14% officially
Schizophrenia: 1.1%
These are American statistics, but presuming that overall none of these have some sort of strong cultural cause, they should be representative of the norm of humanity. Now, let's get the raw number estimate out of this. What we're going to need to do is multiply 8,000,000,000 by 0.016, 0.015, 0.0114, 0.011 respectively.
128,000,000
120,000,000
91,200,000
88,000,000
So, this a rough estimate for the number of people in each category respectively. Bit bigger than you might assume when you hear "approximately 1%", right? When you hear "approximately 1%", you're liable to think something is super rare. And in proportion, yeah, sure.
But plot twist, I'm discussing misinformation and bad propaganda. Did you know the internet allows disparate groups of small populations to connect and form larger communities than was ever possible offline due to how irl populations are distributed? Now, imagine a community of just 25% of trans people. Using the prior information, you can do this calculation yourself.
Done it? Did you get 22,800,000 people? Good job. If not, the calculation should have been 91,200,000 x 0.25. Now, imagine a community online of 22,800,000 people. That's a pretty damn big community online, right?
And this here shows how false claims of the level of visibility of various groups online being the result of "fakers" and "trenders" is. Those claims rely on your inability to understand that even 1% of humanity is 80,000,000 people. You aren't seeing anywhere close to 80,000,000 different people posting about it. You aren't even seeing 1,000,000 people posting about it. You are seeing a tiny fraction of a tiny fraction of humanity posting about it. Social media just enables that itty bitty bit to find each other and interact.
