My mother and I have a ton of bills and loan payments to make, plus we're both overdrawn currently. Any help to pay these bills/loan payments would help us get back on our feet and be able to pay for most of our needs without asking for so much help each month.

I currently need $3000 to cover bills that came out February 3rd on both my mothers and my accounts, as well as paying part of our rent next month. Please help?

For those not aware, we currently do not have a working car, my mother was hospitalized for a week in December and still has lingering health issues, my daughter has just started HRT and I got second-degree burns on my neck and chest a few weeks ago that needs to heal. Once we get these loans paid off, we'll be able to start saving to fix the car, which we need for all the appointments we have each month that medical transport doesn't cover.

in boring adult annoyances, i recently converted my checking account to a different type of checking account with the same credit union. i've done this a couple times over the years cuz it's the same checking account my dad helped me set up when i was 13 and this CU is still my primary financial institution. asked the banker

"will my account number remain the same?"

"yes, we're just converting it to a different type of the same account!"

"so my direct deposit and autopays won't be impacted?"

"correct!"

"and i can still use the same debit card i've been using for the last ~6 years!"

"absolutely!"

"great, let's do it."

fast forward to this week, when three of my autopay bills bounced, my debit card isn't working, and a closer look at my account number shows a 1-digit change at the end. go back to the same branch like "hey no offense but what the fuck??"

different banker takes a look at my accounts, makes a Face, and politely casually asks "so where did you go to make the switch? :)"

"here, this branch. that person over there was actually the one who helped me."

The Face intensifies. ".....Ah. I See. well, it looks like the way the changes were made may have Disrupted some things. you're gonna need a new debit card, etc, i'll get that printed for you ASAP."

[5 minutes later the banker who fucked up the first transaction sheepishly approaches me to hand over my new debit card & apologize profusely.]

Heyyyyy so guess whose pharmacy fucked up and had to get part of its prescription reordered for the next day and who also now can't afford to get transport to and from said pharmacy when the prescription is due. This guyyyyy

Now that I actually have access to my paints again I can start doing commissions again! So when I get home I'll try and revamp my commissions post finally. But, for now:

- It's £10* per hour of time I spend on the main piece (preliminary/concept sketches are for my own sake and are free).

- I usually recommend a minimum of 2 hours for a loose painting, and a minimum of 5 for a more detailed one.

- I don't accept up front payments for more than 20 hours, but am willing to work on a painting for longer than that if I fill that time and you still want me to keep working on it.

*Previous rate was £9 per hour but as of today I'm changing it to £10 due to changes in cost of living recently. Backgrounds or more than two characters will now cost an extra £1 per hour rather than flat payments.

If anyone is interested in a commission at all, even if it's just a single hour doodle, it would be extremely appreciated 💖

(All my current work is traditional, primarily watercolour but I can also do pencil sketches and drawings. If you want the original physical copy as well as scans/photographs, please feel free to ask about it!)

look. most people on tumblr, like most people everywhere, are just kind of innumerate, at least in slightly unexpected cases theyre asked to discuss on polls. they can't demonstrate an understanding of probability and they also don't understand compound interest. this is bad, but we can't fix it by explaining on the polls at length why they are wrong, because people on tumblr, in a specific manner but also still pretty much like people everywhere, think you are a fun-ruining evil stemlord who automatically loses the argument and should be put to death as the oppressor if you try to explain math to them

my unpopular opinion is that while i think Snow is ultimately responsible for the sex trafficking of victors i don’t think he’s the “face of the operation”. like obviously he’s the one that set it up, knows everything that’s going on and completely enforces it i still see him being someone who would like to publicly keep his hands clean of it. i don’t think anybody who pays for the victors would ever pay him directly and i think the victors would very rarely, if ever, have a conversation with him about it directly. i know most fics (and i’ve complained to you about this part before lol) depict Snow showing up to a victor and saying “hey you gotta have sex with this guy tonight or i’m gonna kill your whole family” but in my eyes he has a lot more people who do his dirty work for him and it’s a grooming situation. it’s probably people these kids see on a more day to day basis subtly edging them in to this before really locking them in

man another thing that's been very nice about having moved out of my dad's house is that... i am under no obligation to convey anything to anyone <3 i don't have to tell my parents about my doctor appointments, i don't have to tell people my intentions, i don't have to defend making purchases or arranging my life in a way that makes things easier or more pleasant because people don't even have to know about these things in the first place.
