I don’t want to sound desperate, but I feel like so many of you don’t care or have stopped caring about the struggles of LGBTQ refugees in East Africa.

We are a group of queer refugees living in a very hostile refugee camp. Every day, we fight to survive amidst starvation, a lack of clean water, and the constant threat of disease. Some of us are battling malaria and HIV without access to proper medication. Our stories are heartbreaking, but they barely reach the world.

It has now been 4 days since we last received a donation. Many of us are running out of food, and clean drinking water is a luxury we can only dream of. Some members of our community, including children, are dangerously malnourished. We live with the reality of illnesses that could be prevented if we had access to basic healthcare.

What will it take for the world to care about us? As LGBTQ refugees, we have been silenced, abandoned, and persecuted, but we refuse to lose hope. We need your support to make it through another day.

Islam Al-Najjar (@islamgzacc4) is a 27 year old Palestinian man from Gaza.

His home was destroyed due to Israeli bombing. And his grandfather, who is 85 years old, has lost his hand due to Israeli bombardment as well. He is now suffering from injury. Islam’s mother has also been recently diagnosed with cancer, and she has just started her treatment not too long ago.

They have had many loved ones that were tragically taken away from them, close ones who were very dear to them. And now they continue to struggle to survive in such inhumane and harsh conditions. But this family, as heroically brave and resilient as they are, still strongly hold onto hope despite these hardships. I ask you to please lend the goodness of your heart to this beautiful family who are suffering.

This is the updated post after talking with my friend who helps with our rent. She's going to be able to contribute some, but I need to raise at least $1000 extra just to cover my share. Please help? It's a matter of keeping us housed at this rate.

I owe PayPal $125 before I get a single donation, so I need to cover that. Then I have a $485 overdraft that I need to cover, then a $420 loan that will take money out of my account as I put it in until the loan is paid off. So that right there is over $1000 I need to raise just to get donations to pay bills.

My mother and I have a ton of bills and loan payments to make, plus we're both overdrawn currently. Any help to pay these bills/loan payments would help us get back on our feet and be able to pay for most of our needs without asking for so much help each month.

I currently need $3000 to cover bills that came out February 3rd on both my mothers and my accounts, as well as paying part of our rent next month. Please help?

For those not aware, we currently do not have a working car, my mother was hospitalized for a week in December and still has lingering health issues, my daughter has just started HRT and I got second-degree burns on my neck and chest a few weeks ago that needs to heal. Once we get these loans paid off, we'll be able to start saving to fix the car, which we need for all the appointments we have each month that medical transport doesn't cover.

my friend harmony is a disabled trans lesbian who has been homeless for almost two months now , relying solely on the kindness of strangers to make ends meet . after all this time , she’s finally caught a break – her cousin has extended an invitation to live with her and has offered to help her get a job at her place of work . this is absolutely fantastic news and i’m so so excited for harmony to get back on her feet !! 

the only issue is that her cousin lives roughly 2000 miles across the country . harmony is ready to go whenever , she just needs a little more help: she’s disabled and cannot drive for super long periods of time , so she will need to stop and stay at a hotel a few times along the way ( ~$200 ) . she also needs gas to fill up her tank ( ~$250 ) and food to eat ( ~$50 ) .

Back to Motel 6. We've got a week paid for with Moms SSI and Mom gets her SSDI on the 3rd which we'll try and stretch out as many days as we can with that.

We used her entire check on the room though and have no money left for Food and Medicine.

Thankfully my Moms Chronic bronchitis isn't acting up right now but the cold weather is wreaking havoc on her arthritis [and mine]. She needs nutrients and she needs medication.

We dont get our food stamps until the 9th and we're probably not going to be able to squeeze any food or medicines out of the SSDI check on the 3rd, we need to keep this room.

I Still haven't gotten paid for babysitting my sisters kids.

She hasn't even turned in the paperwork for the state to process and pay me. She's also holding my ID and Social Security card hostage so I couldn't even apply for another job if I wanted to.

And she stole over a hundred dollars off Moms card between us getting in the room and me trying to walk to the store to get us food and medicine.

I'm not even surprised. She's been financially abusing us for years.

Long story short, we dont have money for food or medicine and don't know when or if we will this month.

Update on my current situation

For anyone who wants a backstory. I was assault last year which landed me with a fractured jaw and missing front tooth. The first surgery landed me in major debt and I was at rest of losing my place to stay. Fast track to these past couple of weeks. My jaw shifted again and I needed revision surgery, which landed me in even more debt that I still have to pay off. But I managed to get the surgery done thanks to you all.

However with everything going on and all of my previous warnings I was evicted from my place and have since been out of place to live. I and many on my friend on here have been sharing and trying raise the first half of rent and the deposit to be able to room with someone who offered. I am thankfully we raised the first half and I am here safe. Thank to everyone who helped 🤍

BUT just a few days ago while I was on the street my laptop was stolen. It’s a big deal since I work in IT and security plus do music on the side to make ends meet. If I didn’t need certain software and specifications to run my work I would not be as stressed out about all of this. Without it I can’t pay the rest of the rent that is due 25th, latest the 28th

TL;DR, my family really needs groceries

we made it through january by the skin of our teeth and i let myself have the slightest hope that we might get through february without having to make a post like this, but autodraft bills decided to come early for some damn reason and dug our bank account into the negatives right before payday. we had basically our entire food budget for this check eaten up by overdraft fees for bills that would have had covered just fine if they'd posted when they were supposed to. all we have in the cabinets now is plain rice and noodles.

we're a household of four disabled and neurodivergent trans folks (myself, my partners @natalieironside and @renthony, and our roommate @dovesndecay) who are constantly living paycheck-to-paycheck and struggling to make ends meet with our several side hustles stacked on top of each other in a trench coat.

hi, i know i’ve made dono posts before and i’m sorry to ask for money once again. my older sister financially abuses me heavily, often making me pay for entire bills on my own when she has two teenage children in the house. she forces me to split bills 50/50, when i get paid pretty much half the amount she does. i got a raise recently, but she forced me to foot an entire 100 bill, so my funds were depleted entirely.

i am on food stamps, but it’s never enough because her children eat my groceries often .

i am in the process of getting ready to move in with a friend in a different state. but until then, i need to get to my job and afford groceries and get supplies to keep my dog safe . These two images state my reason for the updated GoFundMe campaign. As an explanation for everyone, since not everyone can read images, I was informed that I would not be able to work for Doordash in order to make ends meet during my medical leave.

I am in need of this money for rent and car note most! Any extra will go towards any groceries/necessities I've been unable to get from other resources when needed. But ultimately, you all are keeping a roof over my head as well as my car in my possession so that I can actually get back to work once the leave is over.

Hello Tumblr! It's been a minute, huh. Why? Because surprise! I had emergency retinal surgery on January 21st, 2025. It was discovered the day prior that not only had the retina in my left eye detached, leading to an increasingly large blind spot in my left eye, but there were tears starting to form in my right eye's retina as well. Luckily we caught this on early enough that they were able to quickly laser the tears in my right eye before they led to detachment so I got away with a minor procedure in that eye. My left eye however? Not so much Read on for more below

Unfortunately for my left eye, I had to go under the knife and receive a scleral buckle and cryoplexy to secure the retina back to the eye wall. Surgery was a success, thankfully! Retina has reattached and is healing nicely thus far. Because we caught this before my macula got pulled off too, I've got a great prognosis in terms of vision recovery! Had we waited any longer there would've been a very real chance of permanent vision loss in that eye. All that being said, the recovery journey has been,, very rough! Vision in my left eye is super blurred and that eye is VERY photosensitive thanks to some of the eye drops they've had me on. Bright lights give me massive headaches and I cant focus on text or anything visual for too long without getting insane eye fatigue. Not to mention I get to deal with an insane amount of irritation due to the stitches in place on my eye. Fun! All this couldnt have come at a worse time,, I'm still unemployed and given the restrictions recovery brings my job search has been slowed CONSIDERABLY. Im still applying as much as I can but things are slower going. On top of that, with the care required for post operation, it's also cut down on my partner @pastelgeneticist's ability to do their own work This has naturally led to a lot of unexpected expenses and a general shortage of funds while I'm in the midst of recovering from this whole ordeal. I know I ask for donations and assistance frequently but genuinely, I could use the help now more than ever.
