Post 11: A Moment of Reflection: Integrating the Yoga Sutras So Far
As we come to this point in our journey through the Yoga Sutras, it is important to pause for a moment. These sutras are not just words to be read; they are seeds, planted within the soil of your mind, each one carrying the potential for deep transformation. And like all seeds, they need time, space, and the right conditions to grow. Take a breath. Feel the stillness in the space around you.…

The mind is the “inner child.” The Lunar Nodes in the Universe play on the workings of the mind. They are called Rahu (The North Node) and Ketu (The South Node).
The South Node, Ketu, is the catalyst for transforming the mind and the North Node, Rahu, is the manifestation of this. If we channel the inner child (mind) through Rahu, we will be lost and insatiable. We must allow Ketu, to guide us to healing (Ashwini), attachment (Magha) and finally to uprooting us to liberation through (Mula). These are the celestial bodies that are in the stars and as the Lunar Nodes go backward in the sky, they control our subconscious, psychology and emotional faculties through the different houses (areas of life).
To “conquer” or heal this, we must surrender to the undertones that arise in our lives. Many of us naturally do this process as we live without realizing it: We experience old patterns and attachments, so we unlearn this behavior by looking outside of the way that we have been doing things to seek a new way of being and thinking. This change sometimes is only within, other times we may change religions, places of worship, move away from friends or loved ones, change jobs or careers, etc.
Though we have certain behaviors and practices that are more defined and formally recognized as “spiritual,” the most profound spiritual practice we can do psychologically and emotionally is to do things with detachment and then when it is time, let go. With all the prayers, chanting, meditation, candles and rituals, all of it is meaningless if we do not know how to do this. If those behaviors or rituals are a catalyst to help us psychologically and emotionally live fully with detachment and to let go, then wonderful. If not, we are just doing behaviors and saying words, but we will still be bound to the cycle of death and rebirth until we can learn to release desire. We will share a post that we wrote about desire on Tumblr here for clarification.
Namaste…

Many spiritual teachings talk about detachment or non-attachment and it’s often difficult for the western mind to grasp the essential meaning. At best it seems dull and at worst it sounds numb, uncaring, or unfeeling.
So I have a fix for you:
Whenever detachment or non-attachment is mentioned, think of transparency.
Imagine your whole body and being to be like a perfectly clear, transparent crystal. Whatever light shines on that crystal will illuminate it in its entirety.
But all of that light will exit the crystal just as smoothly as it had entered. None of the light gets stuck or attached within the crystal.
In our living moment of human life, to be detached or non-attached means that we allow everything to strike us as it is. Our whole experience, whatever it may be right now, is nakedly illuminated. But just as it flows in, it also flows out.
Call it non-stickiness or non-attachment or transparency. It doesn’t matter. What matters is that you receive this teaching and write it upon your heart and the surfaces of your mind.
It is a fundamental point to embody if you wish to be peaceful, happy, and free—and to remain that way!

So, I’ve been meditating for a while now, and honestly, it’s improved my attention span so much. I used to get distracted super easily, but now I can actually focus for longer periods without my mind wandering all over the place. It's kind of surprising how something as simple as sitting quietly and focusing on your breath can change the way your brain works. Whenever my thoughts drift, I just bring my attention back, and over time, it’s made a huge difference. I can stay focused on things like watching a movie or reading without constantly needing breaks or getting sidetracked. It’s definitely one of the best habits I’ve picked up.
it is not needed for you to shift!
but It helps me with daily tasks, makes me feel better, and improves my focus when doing methods.
and its definitely not as overhyped as everyone makes out on shifttok.

How do you let go of attachment to things? Don’t even try… It’s impossible… Attachment to things drops away by itself when you no longer seek to find yourself in them...

Normally, we get caught up in the story we tell ourselves with a thought or feeling we have. . . what’s important is that we can observe this without the need to replace it with another drama like “ I shouldn’t do this” or “I can’t be like this.” The point of awareness is to simply let ourselves experience our thoughts and feelings WITHOUT commenting on them, for it is the inner chatter that keeps us enslaved. - Martin Lard, A Sunlit Absence

"Imagine the idea that the moment you were born you were kicked off the edge of a precipice, and you are falling. As you fell, a great lump of rock came with you, and it’s traveling alongside you. And you’re clinging to it for dear life! And thinking, ‘Gee, I’ve gotta hold onto this.’ You see? Well, it doesn’t do a thing for you. And it’s only making you anxious, and as soon as you understand that it doesn’t do a thing for you that you let go and relax. So, everybody’s in this situation. We’re all completely insecure! We’re all headed straight for death, as if we had been condemned by a judge. And yet here we are all clinging onto things. And we have all sorts of alibis for doing this. We say, ‘Well, I have responsibilities for my dependents, and I’ve got to cling on.’ But all you’re doing is you’re teaching your dependents to cling the same way as you are and making them miserable by learning to go on surviving compulsively.
So the thing is, the same way you’re caught in a torrent, and you try to get out of it by swimming against it, you’ll just wear yourself out, and you’re still carried along with it. So the sensible thing to do is to turn around and swim with it! And if you want to get out of it, swim towards the edge. But go with it! Same way when you’re sailing. Always keep the wind in your sails. If you want to go against the wind: tack! But use the wind. So it’s this way, you know, we’re all in this great stream of change which we call life, we ARE the stream! If you imagine you're separate from it, and you're being carried along by IT as if you were a cork, that's a delusion. You're a wave of the stream itself, so get with IT!”

Post 10: Stages of Meditative Absorption: Patanjali’s Sutras 1.17 and 1.18
In the previous post, we explored the power of detachment and how cultivating non-distraction allows us to rest in the awareness of the Seer. Now, Patanjali takes us deeper into the process of meditation by introducing the stages of meditative absorption, where the mind gradually becomes still and clear. In Sutras 1.17 and 1.18, Patanjali outlines the progressive levels of absorption (samadhi)…

following the curve of stone
to touch the cooling surface of the sorcerer's stone
one must learn how to become the ice that forms solid
over the water of life's river and match the timing of seasons
the floating space of moments where consciousness
cycles with a slow current in the deepest parts of mind
in that soft stillness one can imagine an aligned light
falling downward from the source of galaxy stars
drawing slowly down from the arcing of brows
over the shape of the nose and past the softly parted lips
down to the chin and tracing down the spiraling throat
resting for a moment at the hollow and breathing deep
in through the nose and slowly slowly outward
match the electromagnetism of gravity and soul
the light draws the line further into the middle of the chest
palm nests between the swell to feet the drumming
with each beat the divine light begins to grow in color
at first the light is shy seafoam the color of light through
the spring green of the leaves breaking the surface
of the dark soil of the body within and the blood
as water through the systems of inner organs
the light then deepens to emerald and the throat
bursts open with blue light and the frequency of song
all around me the world is burning in the fire
of creation and yearning in celestial hues of nebula
my solar plexus chakra bursts into a golden dawn
the chaos of creativity in my sacral chambers
light slowly copper like the forges of artisan jewel crafting
my feet were so cold throughout this process that I notice
again how the neglected parts of me stay so
deeply in uncertain darkness and I understand
why the root chakra values above all stability
to ground itself so as to keep away the winds of change
I haven't danced yet today and like a child
my feet stay cold to avoid any path that doesn't lead
to what they imagine is their desired outcome
the roots like vines tether themselves to whatever
they can anchor down to like a dandelion's roots
instead of putting on socks to produce more
to do more or perform more or force myself to be responsible for
I take my soles in my hands and hold them steadfastly
my palms are warm and gold and I watch the heat
coax the seed of light in my toes to reach upward
then they go cold and dark again as I abandon them to type
the root chakra is scarlet red for the seed must essentially
destroy itself to give the sprouts within a chance to find the sun
to reach outward and upward towards a new growth
new branches and new leaves and a new blooming
I can't imagine because I've never experienced it before
I rest in the moment to admire the beauty of this tall tree
and then return again to the chronic chaos of reality
but it's a chaos that is sweet and disruptive and mischievous
the hypersurface of the present moment and a child
that has the relentless energy of a burning mobile sun
there's a rhyming reason the system orbits the source
but the ones with wings find branches to rest on
and the stars burn brightly in the high seas

Oof you think that ( im leaning towards Joe,) cause it’s clear something is taking a toll on him ,would say something that would hurt Ja’Marr’s feelings ?? Idk why , but I have been feeling like the world be a shift between them but for the better
it could be possible 😭
i'm honestly optimistic and don’t think a shift would happen between them due to some words being thrown around though!
and!! the good news is we have Venus, Sun and Mercury leaving the sign of Taurus by the end of this week, so Joe (and all Scorpio moons) may start feeling some relief!!
(Gemini and Sag moons get ready though lol!)
i caught some of joe's press conference today, and it's clear he's been feeling the effects of the transits. he spoke about his own 'football mortality', and how he's changing his mindset when it comes to pushing through injuries/adversity.
so he's definitely been feeling Saturn's effect (delays, blocks). but that's Saturn for you, the ego killer, the king of time, the 'cosmic terrifier'! he will still be receiving Saturn’s aspect until March 2025.
but based off what i've seen so far, we don't have a lot to worry about at the moment <3
