The reason why The Doctor keeps regenerating into David Tennant is because he's just so God damn accident prone. Like a kind but frustrated DM with the new player he doesn't want to put off but keeps making terrible decisions.

Ok ok that Dalek came out of no where that's my bad, don't worry about rolling a new character just regenerate into your handy spare hand.

You..you want to sacrifice yourself to save the old man? But he's like 90! You'll have to reroll if you do it I know you've only had this character a few sessions but I'm sorry there are limits.

Ok ok you've had a few characters now you've learned the ropes I think, that second character lived a thousand years! Go you! How about we try out that first character again why are you standing in front of that galvanic laser beam...
