Okay, but what is Descendant's seeming obsession with making nearly all the 'descendants' an only child about?

Ben, Audrey, Red, Evie, Jane all of them are the only heir/descendant of their parents, and if you hadn't read the books you wouldn't know that Harry is actually a middle child (he has two sisters) and Mal has a younger (half/debated on full) brother or that Lonnie has an older brother.

Chloe is literally the only movie cannon sibling we have. Most of these parents we're talking about are royals, you would seriously think that they would have more than just one kid. 'Heir and the spare' and all that. I mean, I kinda get not wanting to hire too many actors, but you'd think at least one of them (other than Chad now) would have had a sibling in the movies.

Me: EAH has a bunch of plotholes and retcons, I don't have to believe everything canon tells me because it gets things wrong or just flatout contradicts itself at times and it is no use getting hung up on small details that ultimately don't matter in the grand scheme of the story.

Also me: [Trying to come up with a way to explain the whole "the Evil Queen stole the Dark Fairy's destiny" detail]

#my current proposal is time travel #but that too has its flaws #ever after high #eah #we could go with fairies and other magic users just become older than 100 but that contradicts class of classics #not a big deal considering class of classics shows the wonderlandian parents at eah even though by all accounts they should not be there #(note: while possible it just doesn't make sense to me personally)#(by the things the books have told us so far it doesn't make sense to me)#anywAY #my other theory is that the Sleeping Beauty role gets passed down differently #like the currently Sleeping Beauty is still sleepin for a bit and her sibling's first born gets the Sleeping Beauty destiny #like it keeps switching. sleeping beauty sleeps and the next sleeping beauty is the last one's sibling's first born and after the sleeping #sleeping beauty wakes up and gets children and that first one becomes the next sleeping beauty while their cousin sleeps #did I explain that coherently?#anyways in the end it is just a small detail that doesn't really change the plot if you leave it out of the story so it doesn't really #matter in the end. however as a fan of the show I just like thinking about these things #(to explain further on the other thing Briar would be the daughter of A sleeping beauty and the one sleeping before her would be her cousin #who would be the child of her aunt who was not a sleeping beauty

went to the met today! some of my faves from the Sleeping Beauties exhibit 💃

#some lady behind me at one point was like 'oh. mcqueen again. 🙄' and friends when i tell you i almost committed a felony.#YEAH MCQUEEN AGAIN AND YOU SHOULD BE FUCKING GRATEFUL YOU UNCULTURED SWINE #anyway. there was also a family of two like low-teenage girls and their mom and their dad who were there for the exhibit #and one girl was like 'yeah the theme this year is sleeping beauties. it's new each year. it's the—you know the met gala? like in oceans 8?#LIKE IN OCEANS 8?#and the mom was like 'oh yeah right'#and the fucking dad. was like. 'i'm gonna just head for the front door. get some air.'#LIKE. SIR. YOUR DAUGHTER[S] IS AS EXCITED AS A 15 YEAR OLD GIRL IS CAPABLE OF GETTING WHILE ON A FAMILY TRIP. Why was Audrey even there to greet the VK's? She had no official standing other than being Ben's girlfriend.

Ben you can understand, of course he's the Crown Prince and bringing them over was his idea. So of course he'd be there. Fairy Godmother yes as Headmistress of Auradon Prep you'd also expect her to be there.

But why Audrey? Audrey, who does nothing but make the VK's uncomfortable and insult them? She was not needed! Frankly from the impression we get, it seems like the only reason she was there was, to 'stake a claim' on Ben to the two VK girls and make sure that Ben himself didn't get too friendly with them.

I'm just like....how insecure in your relationship can you get? smh
