Ben and Mal are EIGHTEEN in Descendants 3 and I will not hear otherwise!

They are both given the ages of 16 in D1. The six-month gap between D1 and D2 gives the time for them to turn 17. Then there's a year's gap between D2 and D3. (given by the books)

You do the maths. Unless the writers are trying to say Bal are frozen in time (more Ben than Mal since Mal's half god so she kinda is) or something. That would make them 18 at the time of engagement.

I must confess I'm falling down the Descendants rabbit hole once again and why is there only like 1.2k Ben x Mal fanfics? That is a downright crime, i need more stories of Hater Girl and Lover Beast Boy

Also I saw a video that pointed out the fact that in If Only the in background vocals you can hear Ben singing and let me tell you I almost started giggling like a kid watching it for the first time cause that was so cute and you can barely hear him it's so faint it's almost not there but I loved it

The way people hate Ben, as if he’s just there being useless and not the reason the story happened in the first place, is baffling. He defended Mal when he had every right to make her public enemy number one for the love spell, gave her and her friends grace, and could’ve been furious at Uma for another love spell but wasn’t because he understood that she was hurting and only wanted the best for the kids. He also refused to believe that Audrey was terrorizing Auradon of her own volition because he knows that’s not who she is.

He literally gave grace to everyone, despite the fact that they constantly disrespected him and undermined his authority and position as King. He had every right to tell them to “KYS.” Honestly, he’s better than me, because I would’ve abused my power as King and done far worse. Adam and Belle would’ve been locked up, Fairy Godmother would’ve been stripped of her magic, and I would’ve given the wand to Jane.

The way certain stans (I'm not gonna name them because I'm not in the mood of getting attacked by a group who stans fictional white characters) vilify him but Mal and the others get a free pass because of their circumstances as if Ben didn't know peace the moment he became king at 16. I'd hate everyone and had them locked in a dungeon just for that.

Chip who could have been a big brother was not used. Left out the movies completely.

Emir and Ahkio his best friends are background characters and aren't given any lines or interactions with Ben.

His PARENTS are UNFIT DNA DONORS who LET him get talked down to and ripped into!

The movies did not give Ben ONE person from Auradon that supported him and was in his corner, no questions asked. No one told Ben he was doing the right thing, giving the VK's a chance. No one had his back or was willing to see if the idea rose or fell. No one believed in Ben

When Ben finally does get one person who was/is willing to support him and believe in him, (Mal) she's called EVIL AND TOXIC and everyone is trying to pull/get him away from her!

I just...how did Ben NOT have a BREAKDOWN?
