what happens if fitz realizes that his friends take advantage of him/don't care as much either?

I don't think they take advantage of him, so much as just disregard. But I also think most characters in the series are disregarded aside from Keefe (which- you can decide if that's a bad or good thing for yourself.)

But reading the books, you do notice that Fitz doesn't really have a friend group within the friend group like the others. Linh, Tam, Wylie and Rayni are their own little thing, Tam, Biana and Dex are often paired off, Maruca, Stina, Linh and Marella are often together etc...

and it used to be Keefe, Fitz and Sophie, but Fitz and Keefe's friendship started deteriorating early on, and I think it's fair to say that Keefe and Sophie spend more time together-- even when Sophie and Fitz were dating, they were often together, and Sophie purposefully avoided Fitz because the stress of the relationship. And we all know this led to the slow death of Sophitz and kinda put the final nail in the Keefe and Fitz friendship (unless of course they find some magical way to make up that's even remotely believable. Because your best friend dating your ex girlfriend is a LOT to come back from.)

So atp, he's completely alone, and his closest confidant seems to be Biana, who has her own friends and people to lean on. Fitz's relationship with his parents has also really suffered, he no longer has his brother, and he has no real mentor and mentee relationships with any adults in the series.

You notice this to be true as well when you see that while most of his 'friends' are in groups and go do things in duos, he's often on his own when he's pursuing his own leads. No one offers to do it with him, unless they're asked specifically. (Ie. searching Cassius's memories, no one backing him up when it came to Alvar, except Biana, but even she was a bit more passive with it.)

I think the natural conclusion to all of this is honestly a slow fade out of being in everyone's lives. Which sounds really sad, but relationships take two, and I don't know how much he's willing to forgive, and it doesn't seem that Keefe and Sophie are doing much to pursue rebuilding things with him. I personally would not be able to handle being around either of them unless it was out of necessity, if I was him. And I can't really imagine anyone else in the extended friend group is pursuing him as a friend either. Shannon has done such a good job of making everyone so uncomfortable around him, that I think it would take a while for any of them to really approach him.

I really don't think a lot of Keefe and Sophie and his relationships are salvageable. I'm imagining real people in the same scenario and uh... someone is 100% going no contact. The only way this could be saved is with the most sincere apologies known to mankind between the three of them, real and sincere forgiveness, and lots of time.

But that leaves him extremely isolated.

I wish Shannon would develop him and Biana's relationship more, because I would love to have someone who is in Fitz's corner. And she's shown to have more empathy for her brother than everyone else.

Thomas had so much planned out for everyone. If there is one thing Wolf Hall shows us it's how much he plans ahead and how much he thinks about everyone's future without him. It's just an eerie detail I gather that Thomas doesn't think himself to live for that long, even if he doesn't outright say it. It's in his actions, the things he does, etc. The whole theme of this series is Thomas cheating death, from the beginning when Walter tells him to get up to the end.

But his will, which is lowkey kinda extra, sums up how the character just navigates thinking of things for everyone, thinking up a path and care for everyone and he's okay not being there with them.

Lastly, this is gut-wrenching because after he is executed for treason I think like...all of this falls through T-T

That's another thing - all of this, everything he's done, everything he's done for others, everything he plans to do for others, the life he's made for himself, the life he's cultivated by cheating death amounts to, in a way, absolutely nothing in the end. We see all of this but it means absolutely nothing and that's what hurts the most.

Abandonment - Pt. 1

It was a concise five months and six days since James Buchanan Barnes broke your heart into a million jagged pieces.

You remember every crystalline moment of the day before he left you. You remembered you flipped the eggs perfectly, giving you and Bucky beautifully shaped eggs. The toast jumped in perfect time as the eggs, giving both of you the exact amount of warmth you desired with your breakfast.

The cold feeling of his dog tags against your skin as they slid between your fingers, the only sound; the clinking of dishes. The steady breathing of Bucky as you closed the gap between your ear and his perfect chest. You remembered all of it too well – sometimes when you closed your eyes, the tears you held back for months fell, betraying your calculated facadé.

It was embarrassing, but you stroked your own hair every night before bed, replicating the feeling of the path that his fingers followed for years. You needed him so much that you eventually needed a bolster just to relax enough to close your eyes.

But you knew Bucky too well, and you knew he needed to find himself first before he could maintain a relationship. You just wished that Bucky would have preserved you, even in his worst moments. You wanted to find the world with him. You planned on it. But, Bucky knew what he wanted and his plan didn't involve you.

That day, when Bucky said his words, you questioned him again. "Are you sure, Buck?" Your voice cracked, and you tried your damn best to smile. He only replied with the sad smile that you knew so well. His eyes crinkled in reluctance. The remorse on his face was enough for you to close the gap between you two, giving him the lightest kiss on his cheek as a goodbye.

If it were any more firm, you would get down on your knees, begging him to stay. You knew him well enough to know that he would stay, simply for your sake.

That day, he took away your light and ran like a damn coward. And you had let him because, maybe – just maybe, it would lessen his pain. You were glad to take the fall for him anyway.

Cause bioware released some game stats for veilguard and apparently 72% of players redeemed Solas which is like. Okay yeah the game kinda pushes you towards that. But when I think of all the shit I used to have to put up with just for enjoying Anders like at all and…

(This is not me being anti-Solas, I do not care if you love or hate him, but I am gonna say what he’s done is like. Objectively worse than literally every other companion so lmao. And that’s fine! You can still enjoy him! I’m not saying you can’t and it’s important to me that people understand that! I’m just saying he did in fact do objectively morally worse things in game than Anders did and I don’t think that’s really debatable. And I can’t really make my point here without saying that but I do want to make it clear this is not some moral condemnation of Solas enjoyers cause it’s not)

Getting anon hate on the regular, being told “oh you’re allowed to like Anders as long as you regularly talk about how much he sucks”, people gleefully describing how much fun they have killing him ON your posts about the fact that you like him, the devs making jokes about shitty fates for him when fans asked innocent questions about him, the absolute audacity of his writer to say half the shit she did in interviews (about bisexuality and mental illness, most critically), and then being beaten over the head again in inquisition about how Anders is the worst character to ever exist and there’s no redemption for terrorists who lie to you one time in the entire game and he deserves death or worse and that’s it

And now… 72% of people are down to redeem the guy who lies to you for 2 games straight and who did a lot of questionable things that includes creating the fucking blight and. Like. I guess I’m glad that Solas fans can live in a world where they aren’t constantly harassed and can give their ship like. A pretty damn good ending all things considered. And that the devs love Solas and actually give the option for that happy ending and have characters go to bat for Solas throughout the game and the most annoying thing they have to see are people making scrambled egg memes. I would not wish anyone to have to deal with the shit Anders fans had to put up with back then cause it sucked. It really sucked. And I’m glad it’s not being repeated with a different character, if nothing else

But like. Man there really is a difference when the writers actually like the character who does the thing, huh
