Me: Ok, we're going to keep the bug fairy cover art simple. Just stick with a spider's web theme

Also me: ..... But what if..... There's lace along the edges of the web?

Anyway, hands y'all my current WIP for the bug fairy romance under the cut

It feels wayyyyy too horror themed rn, so i gotta figure out how to soften it up a bit more, but still keep the edge to it

but the disembodied spider eyes WILL be staying. I love that detail too much

I feel like spider web lace is the answer to making this feel softer. Also am probably gonna add a 4th floating hand onto the top left corner for spider dude

so. a couple of lore things here.

Roba only took one of the blood vials before he went out to fight Price. But during Ghost's final interaction with Vernon, he smashes all of the remaining ones over the floor. When he finally killed Vernon, the impact of the blow splashed blood onto his hands, which he then used to a) slash Roba across the face and b) literally grab his tongue. So you can kind of assume that Roba's gotten a much much higher dose than he's supposed to safely take.

Also, his symptoms look pretty similar to the transformed state of Konig, no? Rabid, mindless, inability to talk, and most importantly, he's huge. I think my thought behind this is that the way the world used to be, monsters were way WAY larger than they are now. Roba was underselling it when he said that the vial "unlocks what is dormant" - probably a better description is that it strips away any hybrid's evolutionary 'safety cap' so to speak, in exchange for the original being's mind.

So… uh… saw Deadpool… I love this scrimblo of a man so much it’s… a bit of a problem?

No but like this man has altered my brain chemistry it’s not even funny

To illustrate: I stayed up until 5 AM after watching Deadpool & Wolverine in theaters making a 35 Hour long Deadpool playlist and it’s all I’ve been listening to since then, I’ve filled up three separate sketch pages of just Deadpool, two for Wolverine, which is CRAZY RIGHT NOW, and I’ve reblogged literally hundreds of Deadpool related posts onto my reblog account, so much so that I can’t scroll anymore

All this to say - Wade would be the biggest Chappell fan and I won’t even die on this hill. It’s just canon. There is no hill to stand on because he broke the fourth wall and told me personally that he’s a Pink Pony Girl and he dances at the club oh mama aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

So because I'm not a fucking coward I decided to make my own version, but for real

I'd never done bookbinding before so I had to follow a tutorial and get the materials, but coincidentally we were doing a sketchbook project for Uni, so that was the perfect excuse and in the end that's what I decided my cover would be

Obviously I also did the page binding by hand which was fun

I had to do some size editing on the spine since my sketchbook was not going to be so big, but I made it so let's not worry about that part So I cut the boards out using the tutorial to figure out my spacing and printed the cover out on an A3 page to glue it on

Glued the edges down with some artist's tape and then tested it with the signatures

Once that was done I glued everything else down and let it dry till the next morning and it was done

I now possess power beyond my understanding
