(SPOILERS if you haven't seen the show yet):
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Mxy knocks over a display case that contains the Helmet of Fate. The mystical, god containing item, makes its first appearance, along with Doctor Fate, in More Fun Comics #55 (1940) the panels were done by Gardner Fox and Howard Sherman. The Helmet of Fate is the one controlling the body as it contains the god, Nabu, the Lord of Order. The helmet grants anyone who wears it magical powers and the mantle of the Doctor Fate. Usually the person most associated with the it is Kent Nelson but recent comics had Khalid Nassour take up the Doctor Fate name.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Next we see Mxy pass by the Cosmic Rod of Starman/Stargirl. In the
comics the original owner of the Cosmic Rod was Ted Knigh, the original Starman. The Cosmic Rod he wielded was about the size of a flashlight. It wasn't until Starman #4 (1994) (W: James Robinson, P: Tony Harris, I: Wade Von Grawbadger, C: Gregory Wright, L: John Workman) that his son, Jack Knight took the new and improved Cosmic Rod that his father made and used it for himself to take up the Starman name. The staff would then get passed on to Courtney Whitmore aka Stargirl who at the time took up the name Star-Spangled Kid, when Jack retired the Starman identity to raise his kid. Courtney took up the Starman name as Stargirl and used the Cosmic Rod to carry on the name. The Cosmic Rod gives its wielder flight and energy projection.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Mr. Mxyzptlk then passes over a flight ring in the display. Very good homage to the Legion of Superheroes. Originally the LoSH wore belts to allow their members to fly, but Brainiac 5 was able to make flight rings so they can be less encumbered by the belts as seen in the panel from Adventure Comics #329 (1965) (W: Jerry Seigel, P&I: Jim Mooney, L: David Huffine). The LoSH are a group of young superheroes from the 31st century who are from various parts of the galaxy that fight evil as a team. The group was inspired by reading the history of what Superman did and they want to uphold his ideals and legacy. If they do show up in the show I'll definitely talk more about them.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In another display we see the Soultaker Sword. The sword is associated with Tatsu Yamashiro aka Katana. It and Katana make their first debut in the Brave and the Bold 200 (1983) (W: Mike Barr, P&I: Jim Aparo, C: Adrienne Roy, L: Jim Aparo). The sword was forged by Muramasa, who imbued it with magical properties where whoever kills with the sword, steals the souls of the victim's. Tatsu's husband and children were unfortunately slain by the sword, wielded by her brother-in-law and Tatsu has since then taken the sword and use it to avenged those who were slain by him. Because of the swords magical properties, it can be used to harm Kryptonians. Yes magic is a weakness for Superman.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
When we cut back to the League of Loises ship, Jalana goes Flamebird on everyone and name drops Comet. This is a very good homage to Comet the Super-Horse. Comet made his first debut in Adventure Comics 293 (1962) (W: Jerry Seigel, P: Curt Swan, I: George Klein, L: Milt Snapinn) Comet, along with Krypto the Super-Dog, Streaky the Super-Cat, and Beppo the Super-Monkey, formed the Legion of Super-Pets to save the Legion of Superheroes and Superboy from Brain-Globes of Rambat. Give Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow a read if you want to check out a really cool Comet story.

Krypton gets a name drop, Superman's home planet.

Someone on the MAwS team is a Kingdom Hearts fan.
Tumblr media
Kryptonite is finally introduced in the show, the most well-known weakness of Superman's. Fun fact Kryptonite made its first appearance not in the comics but on the Adventures of Superman radio show in 1943. It wasn't until 6 years later in 1949 that Kryptonite is introduced in the comics in Superman #61.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
At the League of Loises HQ we see MAwS Lois and Mxy walk down the hall with holographic projections of various Loises in the DC multiverse. The one on your left is obviously Lois Prime aka Fleischer Studios Lois the one on your right is Superman the Animated Series Lois. The one next to StAS Lois is Superwoman from Action Comics #60 (1943). The issue was created by Jerry Seigel and George Roussos where Lois dreams of having Superman's powers and saving the day.
Tumblr media
As Mxy searches for his hat we see him open up a cache of various weapons that the Loises have collected. Some of them are pretty recognizable like the Card Captor Sakura staff that's by Mxy's head, Guts's giant sword from Berserk above Mxy on the second shelf from the bottom.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
As the episode wraps up we see MAwS lois activate the data sphere she took from the headquarters and sees evil Supermen tearing up the city. The first we see is an homage to Overman from Animal Man #23 (1990) (W: Peter Milligan, P: Chas Truog, I: Mark Farmer, C: Tajana Wood, L: John Costanza) and the second is designed after Justice Lords Superman from the Justice League cartoon.
Overman is from a world where all superheroes are part of the government and each one is a clone from him. Justice Lords Superman is from the two-parter episode "A Better World" where his Flash died, Superman kills President Lex Luthor in retaliation and he and the Justice League become dictators. Gotta admit Superman does look pretty cool in that suit.
That will be it for this week's episodes Easter Eggs and references. If you made it this far down the post and want to see the other MAwS Easter Eggs and references post you can find them here:

i like how peko and fuyuhiko's island mode endings each fix their side of their relationship
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Peko wants to stand with him as an equal like Fuyuhiko wants. Fuyuhiko no longer running from Peko maybe means that he'll be more clear about how he feels about their relationship (e.g. it's not that he doesn't want a tool, which is what Peko thinks is the problem, it's that he doesn't want Peko to be a tool). Either way, it might lead to Peko wondering if there's alternative ways of being by his side outside of being a tool (like we see in the ending above.) Either way, Peko is going to ask him out on a date.
Which will only result in good things down the line! Love, love!
(maybe? because soon after these endings they wake up from the NWP, and that concept is... kind of fascinating. I ramble in the tags about it)

Unlocking the Mystical Powers of Dowsing Rods for Divination
Shaina Tranquilino
August 27, 2023
Tumblr media
In the world of divination, there are various tools and techniques that seekers turn to in their quest for spiritual insight. One such method is dowsing, a practice that utilizes dowsing rods as a means of connecting with higher energies and obtaining answers to perplexing questions. In this blog post, we will explore the fascinating art of using dowsing rods for divination, its history, and practical tips on how to harness their mystical powers.
Understanding Dowsing:
Dowsing dates back centuries and has been used across cultures worldwide. This ancient technique involves using Y-shaped or L-shaped metal rods or wooden sticks to locate hidden resources such as water sources, minerals, or even lost objects. However, dowsing can also be employed as a powerful tool for divination by those seeking guidance from the spiritual realm.
1. Choosing Your Dowsing Rods:
When it comes to selecting your dowsing rods, personal preference plays a significant role. Some practitioners prefer traditional L-shaped copper rods, while others opt for Y-shaped metal ones or even wooden sticks. Experiment with different materials and shapes to discover which works best for you. Remember that the most important factor is your connection with the tool.
2. Preparing Yourself:
Before embarking on any divination practice, it's crucial to ground yourself and create a sacred space conducive to spiritual work. Take a few deep breaths, center yourself, and clear your mind of any distractions or preconceptions. Visualize an energetic shield around you for protection during your divination session.
3. Setting Intentions:
Clearly define your intentions before starting your dowsing session. Be specific about what you seek clarity on or wish to uncover through this practice. Whether it's finding answers about relationships, career decisions, or simply gaining general guidance from the universe, setting clear intentions will help focus your energy.
4. Holding the Dowsing Rods:
Hold the dowsing rods lightly but firmly in a relaxed manner. Allow them to rest comfortably in your hands, with the longer ends pointing forward or upward and the short ends held loosely.
5. Establishing Yes/No Responses:
To begin, establish simple yes/no responses with your dowsing rods. Hold the rods parallel to each other while asking a question that can be answered with a definite "yes." Observe any movement of the rods towards each other or away from each other as they respond to your query. Repeat this process for a definitive "no" response, noting any different movements or reactions.
6. Asking Questions:
Once you have established your yes/no responses, you can proceed to ask specific questions. Ask one question at a time, allowing an appropriate pause between each query to allow the rods to respond and settle before moving on.
7. Trust Your Intuition:
While dowsing rods serve as a conduit for divination, it's crucial to remember that ultimately, you are tapping into your intuition and higher guidance. Trust your instincts and interpret the movements of the rods based on your inner knowingness rather than seeking external validation. Over time, you will develop a stronger connection with both yourself and the tool.
Dowsing rods offer seekers of spiritual insight a unique method of connecting with unseen energies and gaining clarity on various aspects of life. By choosing suitable dowsing rods, setting intentions, establishing yes/no responses, and trusting your intuition, you can unlock the hidden depths of divination through these mystical tools. Embrace the art of dowsing and let its ancient wisdom guide you on your personal journey of self-discovery and enlightenment.

So today marked 7 days until spring - the energy of the 7 showed up as a pair of dowsing rods (7 looks like a dowsing rod), one in each hand, guiding me along a path which I once knew but became very unfamiliar and intimidating until now. Inquisitiveness, knowledge, organization of information, strong intuition, challenging complexities, synchronicities, light, cosmic energies, mysteries, and luck - are the words of the day today. There is a negative aspect to this number, which includes obsessiveness, moodiness, anxiety, and loneliness - which can take place as a result of loss of faith in, or disconnection from, the divine universal force, or confusion and an inability to take the appropriate actions required to meet our soul’s assignment.
Looking at the negative numerical attributes, I was reminded of what happened to me when I mentally stepped off the path of life and opted for a forest of confusion, where I remained in hiding for many years… until recently. Kind of like entering Fangorn Forest knowing it’s dangerous, but it's still safer than what’s chasing you. And, just like the Hobbits, I found safety there, so I stayed, until recently.
As I allow myself to believe that the path my soul was chosen for in this life is once again safe to walk upon, I have had to recognize that only my own faith has created this new felt safety, and it was only my loss of faith that had originally created the dangers that I ran from. When we allow ourselves to forget that we are divinely guided and protected, only to the point that we allow and believe we are, we can understand our limitless potential, and a new level of strength is created from within because we have just taken responsibility for our thoughts.
I had to fully recognize that there was a time in my life during which I found safety in confusion, and peace in being unseen, and for a little while, I needed it; it was the healthiest thing for me. But then it became my comfort zone, and I failed to recognize that with each passing moment of comfort, a slow death that had begun to take over my soul. With each step I take in the right direction, I recover a little bit of myself along the way.

FISH FEAR ME comes out TOMORROW!!! (February 21st)
You know that Tumblr post from like a decade ago about what if there were a normal fishing game that slowly becomes more and more eldritch as you discover stranger and stranger waters? And then a few years later, Dredge came out and it was basically exactly that and it was awesome? Well, it's a few years after that, and it's time for my goof-ass take on the concept.
Tumblr media
In FISH FEAR ME, you play as the last living human being on earth, who's been brought back from the dead by a billion-dollar cosmic debt. In order to pay off that debt, you'll need to fish -- and lots. You start off catching herrings and stonefish in your rowboat, upgrading your fishing rod and life vest, but true profit requires you to venture into stranger waters.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Before you know it, you're braving lava lakes in a submarine, delving into pitch-black catacombs, and hunting down a giant magical squid called the Ice Wizard for some reason. Every new fish gives you Forbidden Knowledge, letting you uncover new eldritch rituals. Hunt down the rarest fish for their reality-altering lures. Sacrifice your worldly possessions on arcane altars. The Leviathan that eats you at the end of every week may appear unkillable, but that shouldn't stop you from trying.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Anyways on top of all that it's a pretty fun Vampire Survivors-style fishing roguelike full of weird secrets and gags. There's a whole area that's themed after musical instruments and the strongest/rarest fish there is the Electric Bass. And then much later you're fishing in the open ocean and a fish will start shooting music notes at you out of nowhere and you pick it up and it's a tuna fish. And the whole game's full of this kind of nonsense.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Plus, y'know, deep build-crafting, challenging mechanics, obscure riddles, a faceless shopkeeper who's obsessed with you, dozens of upgradable items, a full bestiary with over 140 fish, more than 70 achievements, and a bunch of other Sicko Nonsense. I've had playtesters put over sixty hours into this game and still find new stuff to do.
If any of this interests you, I highly recommend you wishlist the game to be notified when it launches!! (Or, if it's February 21st or later, to just buy it? You can do that now. I'd recommend it.)
Ok that's all byeeeeee <3

We interrupt your regularly-scheduled fanart and amigurumi to bring you HOLY FUCKING SHIT IT'S THE CONCEPT ART OF THE BETA OUTERS IN THEIR SAILOR GUARDIAN FORMS (along with the best look we're gonna get at "Forever Sailor Soldiers")
Unexpectedly found at the Sailor Moon Fantasy forums (Italian). No idea where OP originally found these--maybe Fukano Youichi shared them somewhere?
Among other things: Sailor Moon got a different tiara and a skull-crusher of a scepter, Chibi Moon would've inherited the Cutie Moon Rod (and been red), and contrary to what was reported of one Animage article, beta Saturn was bright-ass yellow. Pluto would've changed planet colours, too--maybe this is why her early dolls wore purple?
Hilariously, Neptune barely changed at all, colour-wise. I'm pretty sure Uranus was supposed to be a different shade of orange from Venus; her Lip Rod's design became the basis for Neptune's.
Most curiously--to me, at least--the Outers all have golden chokers with gem decs, mirroring Sailor Moon's choker (well, in her Super Form--it's gold on her Cosmic form here, too), and Uranus and Neptune's Lip Rods both have crescents. Was there a connection?

SATURN’S ROLE IN BIRTH
Tumblr media
Hello! This is Magonlia! Good morning, afternoon and evening to all of you. Saturn is an essential player in the birth of creation. It holds a significant role in the overall process of development. You’re probably wondering why that is and well, that’s what I’m here to explain, so get comfortable :)
-ˏˋ. ♄ ˊˎ-
First, Saturn (known as Shani in Vedic) in astrology represents limitations, boundaries, discipline, structure, pressure, preservation, maturity, karmic law, challenges, hurdles, as well the skeletal system, teeth and joints.
˗ˏˋ ⁺ ‧ ₊ ˚ ཐི ⋆ ☥ ⋆ ཋྀ ˚ ₊ ‧ ⁺ ˎˊ˗
Tumblr media
˚ .⠀⠀. ✷⠀⠀ ˚ . . ✦ .⠀⋆ ·⠀⠀⠀ * . ⠀⠀ · ⠀⠀ * ⠀ ˚ . ⠀⠀. ⠀ ˚ . . ⠀⠀ * ⠀ ⠀ ˚ . ⠀⠀. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ˚ . . · * ⋆ ·⠀⠀⠀ * . ⠀⠀ * . · ⠀⠀ ☆⠀. ⠀ ˚ . ⠀⠀⋆ ·⠀⠀⠀ * . · ⠀⠀ * ⠀ ˚ . ⠀⠀. ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ˚ . . ⠀⠀ * ⠀⠀ ˚ . ⠀⠀. ⠀⠀☆⠀ ˚ . · * ⋆ ⠀ ⠀ ˚ .⠀⠀. ✷⠀⠀ ˚ . . ✦ .⠀⋆ ·⠀⠀⠀ * . ⠀⠀ · ⠀⠀ * ⠀ ˚ . ⠀⠀. ⠀ ˚ . . ⠀⠀ * ⠀ ⠀ ˚
Boundaries and limitations are found within structure, alongside pressure, all of which are necessary ingredients in the formation of a human being prior to birth. This structure can also be seen with the skeletal system. Though it’s not the first to develop within the womb, it’s essential to the containment of form and all that comes after it. That’s why I said earlier that Saturn plays an important role in the development of creation’s birth. It represents form before manifestation, existing in the pre-physical stages. Once that form touches the Earth, the process continues on a new level. Just a continuous cycle of refinement.
˚ .⠀⠀. ✷⠀⠀ ˚ . . ✦ .⠀⋆ ·⠀⠀⠀ * . ⠀⠀ · ⠀⠀ * ⠀ ˚ . ⠀⠀. ⠀ ˚ . . ⠀⠀ * ⠀ ⠀ ˚ . ⠀⠀. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ˚ . . · * ⋆ ·⠀⠀⠀ * . ⠀⠀ * . · ⠀⠀ ☆⠀. ⠀ ˚ . ⠀⠀⋆ ·⠀⠀⠀ * . · ⠀⠀ * ⠀ ˚ . ⠀⠀. ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ˚ . . ⠀⠀ * ⠀⠀ ˚ . ⠀⠀. ⠀⠀☆⠀ ˚ . · * ⋆ ⠀ ⠀ ˚ .⠀⠀. ✷⠀⠀ ˚ . . ✦ .⠀⋆ ·⠀⠀⠀ * . ⠀⠀ · ⠀⠀ * ⠀ ˚ . ⠀⠀. ⠀ ˚ . . ⠀⠀ * ⠀ ⠀ ˚

This idea is beautifully mirrored in the ancient Vedic story of Samudra Manthan, the churning of the cosmic ocean. In this myth, the gods and demons worked together to churn the ocean of milk using a mountain as the rod and Vishnu’s Kurma (turtle) avatar as the base. The churning released both poison and nectar, symbolizing how great treasures of life (lthe nectar of immortality) only emerge through intense pressure, struggle, and balance.
˗. ˏˋ ⁺ ‧ ₊ ˚ ཐི ⋆ ☥ ⋆ ཋྀ ˚ ₊ ‧ ⁺ ˎˊ˗
This is reminiscent of Saturn so much and interestingly, Vishnu’s. avatar, Samudra Manthan, is associated to the planet Saturn. The turtle avatar, slow and steady, anchored the entire operation, just like Saturn’s provides the needed structure as the skeletal system for the body to be held in place. It also symbolizes how pressure and polarity must be endured for refined creation to emerge.
˚ .⠀⠀. ✷⠀⠀ ˚ . . ✦ .⠀⋆ ·⠀⠀⠀ * . ⠀⠀ · ⠀⠀ * ⠀ ˚ . ⠀⠀. ⠀ ˚ . . ⠀⠀ * ⠀ ⠀ ˚ . ⠀⠀. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ˚ . . · * ⋆ ·⠀⠀⠀ * . ⠀⠀ * . · ⠀⠀ ☆⠀. ⠀ ˚ . ⠀⠀⋆ ·⠀⠀⠀ * . · ⠀⠀ * ⠀ ˚ . ⠀⠀. ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ˚ . . ⠀⠀ * ⠀⠀ ˚ . ⠀⠀. ⠀⠀☆⠀ ˚ . · * ⋆ ⠀ ⠀ ˚ .⠀⠀. ✷⠀⠀ ˚ . . ✦ .⠀⋆ ·⠀⠀⠀ * . ⠀⠀ · ⠀⠀ * ⠀ ˚ . ⠀⠀. ⠀ ˚ . . ⠀⠀ * ⠀ ⠀ ˚

Now If all of this sounds a lot like the womb, you’re absolutely right. It is all happening in the womb: the formation of the body. Interestingly, Binah, the third sephiroth on the Kabbalistic Tree of Life, is known as the Womb, and it’s associated with the planet Saturn. Being the third sephiroth also ties it numerologically to creation, as the number 3 represents synthesis, the union of opposites, especially the masculine and feminine. Three is the essence of creation itself. In the Rider-Waite deck, the third Major Arcana card is The Empress, who is often depicted as a pregnant woman seated on a throne.
˚ .⠀⠀. ✷⠀⠀ ˚ . . ✦ .⠀⋆ ·⠀⠀⠀ * . ⠀⠀ · ⠀⠀ * ⠀ ˚ . ⠀⠀. ⠀ ˚ . . ⠀⠀ * ⠀ ⠀ ˚ . ⠀⠀. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ˚ . . · * ⋆ ·⠀⠀⠀ * . ⠀⠀ * . · ⠀⠀ ☆⠀. ⠀ ˚ . ⠀⠀⋆ ·⠀⠀⠀ * . · ⠀⠀ * ⠀ ˚ . ⠀⠀. ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ˚ . . ⠀⠀ * ⠀⠀ ˚ . ⠀⠀. ⠀⠀☆⠀ ˚ . · * ⋆ ⠀ ⠀ ˚ .⠀⠀. ✷⠀⠀ ˚ . . ✦ .⠀⋆ ·⠀⠀⠀ * . ⠀⠀ · ⠀⠀ * ⠀ ˚ . ⠀⠀. ⠀ ˚ . . ⠀⠀ * ⠀ ⠀ ˚
Tumblr media
˚ .⠀⠀. ✷⠀⠀ ˚ . . ✦ .⠀⋆ ·⠀⠀⠀ * . ⠀⠀ · ⠀⠀ * ⠀ ˚ . ⠀⠀. ⠀ ˚ . . ⠀⠀ * ⠀ ⠀ ˚ . ⠀⠀. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ˚ . . · * ⋆ ·⠀⠀⠀ * . ⠀⠀ * . · ⠀⠀ ☆⠀. ⠀ ˚ . ⠀⠀⋆ ·⠀⠀⠀ * . · ⠀⠀ * ⠀ ˚ . ⠀⠀. ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ˚ . . ⠀⠀ * ⠀⠀ ˚ . ⠀⠀. ⠀⠀☆⠀ ˚ . · * ⋆ ⠀ ⠀ ˚ .⠀⠀. ✷⠀⠀ ˚ . . ✦ .⠀⋆ ·⠀⠀⠀ * . ⠀⠀ · ⠀⠀ * ⠀ ˚ . ⠀⠀. ⠀ ˚ . . ⠀⠀ * ⠀ ⠀ ˚
Saturn can reveal the nature of this formation that took place in the womb and during the gestation process. Just like in the Kabbalistic Tree of Life, Binah, as the womb, is associated with Saturn because both give form and structure, just as Binah does to Chokmah (formless energy). As I said prior, the skeletal system which is also associated to Saturn is essential to the containment of form, starting in the womb. This relates to how you were “shaped” in the literal womb. The ascendant shows the end result, as it represents the moment of birth.
˚ .⠀⠀. ✷⠀⠀ ˚ . . ✦ .⠀⋆ ·⠀⠀⠀ * . ⠀⠀ · ⠀⠀ * ⠀ ˚ . ⠀⠀. ⠀ ˚ . . ⠀⠀ * ⠀ ⠀ ˚ . ⠀⠀. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ˚ . . · * ⋆ ·⠀⠀⠀ * . ⠀⠀ * . · ⠀⠀ ☆⠀. ⠀ ˚ . ⠀⠀⋆ ·⠀⠀⠀ * . · ⠀⠀ * ⠀ ˚ . ⠀⠀. ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ˚ . . ⠀⠀ * ⠀⠀ ˚ . ⠀⠀. ⠀⠀☆⠀ ˚ . · * ⋆ ⠀ ⠀ ˚ .⠀⠀. ✷⠀⠀ ˚ . . ✦ .⠀⋆ ·⠀⠀⠀ * . ⠀⠀ · ⠀⠀ * ⠀ ˚ . ⠀⠀. ⠀ ˚ . . ⠀⠀ * ⠀ ⠀ ˚

Saturn’s exaltation in Libra reflects perfect formation. Its ruler, Venus, at its core signifies harmony, as shown in its glyph: a circle above a cross, symbolizing how it harmonizes the soul with the physical world. Ultimately, Saturn’s urge to structure finds balance and equilibrium in Libra.

That’s the end of this Ted Talk. I’m still sitting with this so it’s a brick by brick thought and contemplation process but I’m content with the direction it’s heading so far. Anyways, here’s Shinji in great despair with his homies by his side :)
