what was komaeda like during his school years at hpa?
bc there are contradicting stuff in the series
in sdr2, it was because of the stress of the killing game that caused him to be active in causing mayhem, like convincing ppl to kill in ch1 and 2
in island mode, he's pretty harmless, he just says some out of pocket stuff from time to time
but in makoto's secret file, komaeda was "constantly getting into trouble, so much so that it concerned the headmaster"
and idk if he's just being weird, or he just straight up doing criminal stuff in hpa
(if the former was true, i find it ao funny bc in the short story, the board of directors, four old men, shuddered at the mere thought of this guy)
returning back to topic, i wonder what kind of environment hpa actually is. bc it is described as the most peaceful and hopeful time before junko came along. we never actually saw what its actually like inside
if its a really stressful environment, almost matching the stress of the killing games, then it would make sense that komaeda would start shit up; otherwise it doesnt
in the dr3 anime, it really seems like its a very laid back school, where the stress only came from the examinations that come from time to time. other than that, the students just do their own thing in the meantime, i dont think they even hold classes
well, i dont think the dr3 anime is canon, cuz its not written by the dr team nor kodaka
#if hpa was a stressful environment plus the academny does shady deals and connections and corruption#then junko doesnt need to do anything big lol#i can see junko being a cult leader of sorts#danganronpa#danganronpa 2#sdr2#danganronpa 3#dr3 anime#nagito komaeda#komaeda nagito#rambles#dr analysis#i guess#i really do wonder what the education system is like in hpa

Educated Self Diagnosis flag! (NOT A TRANSID TERM)
Flag color meanings :
Black - Self discovery and recognition within oneself Gray - The struggles that beings that cannot go to a doctor or professional, that have been fake claimed, brushed off, or pushed aside and told they were "normal", or those who have been hurt by ableists. White - Neurodivergencies and "hidden" disabilities Red - Physical disabilities Yellow - Extensive research on disorders from medical sources and sources by professionals Blue - Being peer reviewed by those with the disorder or those who are also educated on the topic Heart and lightning symbol - Love for beings and showing that educated self diagnosis is used for good and good intentions, and that educated self diagnosis is not being transid or faking a disorder, and understanding that faking is a conscious choice, where educated self diagnosis is seeing things in yourself you cannot control and making a realization.
What is educated self diagnosis? This is a definition in our own words in our experience. Just made a flag for it. It is not the same thing as claiming transid terms, pretending and faking a disorder, or attention seeking (which in itself, attention seeking can also be a symptom of other disorders, whereas faking is a conscious choice.) Educated self diagnosis is spending your own time researching a disorder you think you may have, getting peer reviewed by others, making connections, and coming to a conclusion. It dont have to go all in that order, but the conclusion always comes last. And we say EDUCATED because of the time you spend researching, educating yourself on it before you make a conclusion. This also helps those that cannot go to a doctor, those who are still living with family members that wont let them go, and other purposes.
But in the end, if it turns out those who originally thought they had one disorder but turns out to not, it is fine. Mistakes happen, and they can make a proper conclusion.
Yet again, THIS IS NOT A TRANSID TERM, and never will be. This is our flag we coined, and it is not intended to be used by transids. Im sorry. You have your own terms.
Why do we support educated self diagnosis? In our own experience, we first found out we had NPD and BPD long before others and medical professionals did; on NPD especially. We spent a couple to a few years researching it, getting peer reviewed, and finally came to a conclusion, then got an official conclusion. Second, we didnt even think we had BPD, but we tried to deny it, even though other people already assumed we had it, we matched up with so many symptoms, and our close friend with BPD told us we most likely had it.
And guess what? Same story with our autism and ADHD. peer reviewed, did research, made connections, came to a conclusion long before any professional ever said anything. Turns out we were just good at masking it.
It helped us significantly. Us years ago wouldve denied self-diagnosing, but seeing educated self-diagnosing, and how much it helped us, we greatly appreciate it. It made us realize so many things, helped us uncover disorders we denied we ever had, made us feel at home. It helped us realize there wasnt something wrong with us, it was just these disorders that hindered us.
It helped and encouraged us to go to professionals, and "confirm" our conclusions.
Another reason to support educated self diagnosis is because of how fucked up the medical system is, especially towards treatment towards AFAB beings. We do want to burn down the corrupt medical system, after all.
Sorry this was long.
Any one on any side of syscourse is free to use. All we ask is that transids to not use this term, you make us uncomfortable and do not want this flag to earn a negative reputation. Thank you.
If you are alone out there, we love you. We see you. We want to spread word of educated self-diagnosis in a positive light.
If you are against this, uncomfortable with it, or us, block us. All you have to do is block us, and we will be gone. But we will forever be supportive of educated self diagnosis, as it helped us, and will help other beings in need.
REMEMBER : THIS IS NOT INTENDED TO BE USED BY TRANSIDS
Thank you for listening.

9 to 5 is an insane amount of the day spent working. We just aren’t being paid enough to work fewer hours because we aren’t paid what our work is worth. Bigger companies hide behind small ones with the “we can’t all afford to pay workers fairly” excuse. Well then the business fails at being profitable because workers’ wages are not margins you can cut to be profitable.
And then the big corporations spend obscene amount of money bribing politicians to make sure things stay this way: that minimum wage stays below cost of living so people are forced to work often multiple jobs just to survive, keeping them desperate and forced to work jobs with poor wages.
Education advancement is a potential major debt that many people cannot afford or risk even to get into the highest paying industries. Not all school systems are created equal due to budget cuts and poor, outdated standards, putting many students at a disadvantage for college already. People who would be amazing teachers are dissuaded by the state of these schools and the lack of support they get. It is one of the most important jobs of society and much like many vital services, is taken for granted.
We pretend the threat of homelessness is only for people who are “undesirable” and just didn’t want to work when in reality, many people are one missed paycheck away from being out on the street due to predatory housing situations and unchecked landlords that can give as little as a week’s notice for eviction if not less in some places.
“Pulling yourself up by your bootstraps” is an old saying that’s been twisted. It’s an impossible task. That’s what it means. It’s a tongue in cheek saying that’s been mockingly turned into a political statement and I think the people using it know that people aren’t going to look it up or know this. You cannot pull yourself up by them, you need help.
Society works when we rely on the group. That’s how all civilizations have worked. Others have fallen for not doing this or for doing so poorly with too many people at the bottom of the ladder holding it up (capitalism relies on this to function). Social programs have always been a facet of this and grouping it all into one big negative buzzword drives me insane.
The fire department is a social program. It’s free to call them and it’s paid for by the city because the rich decided that a poorer neighbor’s house fire was a risk to their property and so there should be someone that handles that without costs to an individual that would deter them calling for help. Same with 9-1-1 (unless of course if the person is in the US and needs a personal ambulance ride. Then they’ll charge thousands).
All I’m saying is with the state of the majority of people in the U.S., we could stand to have more support beams to help out before it collapses around us.
People are reaching a breaking point and this stress test of how much they’ll take (costs rising while what you get decreases and wages remaining stagnant; the growing population of homelessness and their solutions being to make homelessness illegal; cuts to people’s rights to their own body by people who are not doctors and should not have anything do to with it but want political points to remain in power by voters who are too uneducated to know better—again, keeping the populous too tired and poorly educated to realize the branching issues with this outside of their narrow-minded ideals they want to force on everyone else) won’t end well.
These problems all branch from a source. That source is always, ultimately, corrupted people in power, driven by money. They are shortsighted and only care about their own benefits. And by letting them, believing their lies and keeping them in power blinded by promises that are at best empty and at worst detrimental, it’s making this world a lot worse to live in for the rest of us. Even if the consequences haven’t reached you directly yet, we are already seeing what happens in this Tragedy of the Commons situation with the greed of a few.
We have to stop people from being able to exploit it. There needs to be laws in place that even the rich are subject to for this to ever work.

Published: Aug 4, 2023
Florida State University criminology professor Eric Stewart was a guru of the claim that “systemic racism” infests America’s police and American society.
Now he’s out of a job on account of “extreme negligence” in his research.
The academic was fired after almost 20 years of his data — including figures used in an explosive study, which claimed the legacy of lynchings made whites perceive blacks as criminals, and that the problem was worse among conservatives — were found to be in question.
College authorities said he was being fired for “incompetence” and “false results.”
Among the studies he has had to retract were claims that whites wanted longer sentences for blacks and Latinos.
To date, six of Stewart’s articles published in major academic journals like Criminology and Law and Society Review between 2003 and 2019 have been fully retracted after allegations the professor’s data was fake or so badly flawed it should not have been published.
The professor’s termination came four years after his former graduate student Justin Pickett blew the whistle on his research.
Pickett said they had worked together in 2011 researching whether the public was demanding longer sentences for black and Hispanic criminals as those minority populations grew, with the paper claiming they did. But Stewart had fiddled the sample size to deliver that result when the real research did not, Pickett said.
When the investigation into Stewart began in 2020, he claimed he was the victim and that Pickett “essentially lynched me and my academic character.”
After sixteen years as a professor of criminology at Florida State University in Tallahassee, Provost James Clark formally notified Stewart he was being terminated in a July 13 letter.
“I do not see how you can teach our students to be ethical researchers or how the results of future research projects conducted by you could be deemed as trustworthy,” Clark wrote to Stewart, who has been absent from his role since March.
Clark said as well as the six officially retracted studies, other work by Stewart was “in doubt.”
The retracted studies looked into contentious social issues, like whether the public perceives black and Latino people as threats and the role of racial discrimination in America’s criminal justice system.
One 2019 study, which has been retracted, suggested historical lynchings make white people today perceive black people as threats.
Stewart floated the idea “that this effect will be greater among whites… where socioeconomic disadvantage and political conservatism are greater.”
Another retracted 2018 study suggested that white Americans view black and Latino people as “criminal threats,” and suggested that perceived threat could lead to “state-spon.sored social control.”
And in a third, Stewart claimed Americans wanted tougher sentences for Latinos because their community was increasing in numbers and becoming more economically successful.
[ Some of Stewart’s research’s flawed data exaggerated the role race plays in the criminal justice system. ]
“Latino population growth and perceived Latino criminal and economic threat significantly predict punitive Latino sentiment,” he concluded in the 2015 study, which has now been retracted.
Stewart’s research also delved into the relationship between incarceration and divorce, street violence, the impact of tough neighborhoods on adolescents, whether street gardens reduce crime, and how race impacts student discipline in schools.
But the disgraced professor was able to rise to prominence as an influencer in his field despite his studies from as early as 2003 now being retracted.
Stewart was a widely-cited scholar, with north of 8,500 citations by other researchers, according to Google Scholar — a measure of his clout as an academic.
He was vice president and fellow at the American Society of Criminology, who honored him as one of four highly distinguished criminologists in 2017.
He was also a W.E.B. DuBois fellow at the National Institute of Justice.
The professor received north of $3.5 million in grant support from major organizations and taxpayer-funded entities, according to his resume.
The Florida Department of Juvenile Justice, the National Science Foundation, which is an arm of the federal government, and the National Institute of Justice, which is run by the Department of Justice, have all funneled money into research Stewart presided over.
The National Institute of Mental Health, a branch of the NIH, poured $3.2 million into research on how African Americans transition into adulthood.
Stewart presided over that initiative as co-principal investigator from 2007 to 2012.
Meanwhile, he reportedly raked in a $190,000 annual salary at FSU, a public university.
While there he served on the school’s diversity, promotion and tenure committees, giving him a say over who got ahead on campus.
He even passed judgment on students accused of cheating and academic dishonesty themselves, as a member of FSU’s Academic Honor Policy Hearing Committee.
The fired professor, 51, graduated from Fort Valley State University and earned his Ph.D. from Iowa State University in 2000.

Academic fraud has direct consequences. Aside from improperly obtaining funding, this kind of corruption directly influences society.
The riots had a body count and caused $2b damage, including to minority-owned businesses, many of which ultimately just closed.
Of course, the problem is that the exposure of this fraud won't stop those citing or using his work, since it's been accepted based on "faith" - "even if he got it wrong, I know it's true in my heart."

As an autistic person, say that schools need to be more "inclusive" for disabled and autistic people is just stupid, because more than disability, inclusion or equality, the schools will always give more importance to a standard that disabled and autistic people cant be part of. Like, the fact that the educational system itself is standardized already makes this inclusion impossible for this group of people.

BALTIMORE (WBFF) — Baltimore is facing a devastating reality as the latest round of state test scores are released.
WBFF analyzed the results and found a shocking number of Baltimore City schools where not a single student is doing math at grade level.
“We're not living up to our potential,” said Jovani Patterson, a Baltimore resident who made headlines in Jan. 2022, when he filed a lawsuit against Baltimore City Schools. The suit claims the district is failing to educate students and, in the process, misusing taxpayer funds.
“We, the taxpayer, are funding our own demise,” Patterson said at the time.
Patterson was born in Baltimore. He's seen the failures firsthand, but when WBFF showed him the latest test results for the city, he was momentarily rendered speechless.
“My immediate reaction is, take your kids out of these schools,” said Patterson.
The Maryland State Department of Education recently released the 2022 state test results known as MCAP, Maryland Comprehensive Assessment Program.
Baltimore City’s math scores were the lowest in the state. Just 7% of third through eighth graders tested proficient in math, which means 93% could not do math at grade level.
But that’s not all. WBFF combed through the scores at all 150 City Schools where the state math test was given. In 23 Baltimore City schools, there were zero students who tested proficient in math.
It just sounds like these schools, now, have turned into essentially babysitters with no accountability,” said Patterson. “This is the future of our city. We’ve got to change this.”
Among the list of 23 schools, there are 10 high schools, eight elementary schools, three middle/high schools and two elementary/middle schools.
Exactly 2,000 students, in total, took the state math test at these schools. Not one could do math at grade level.
“These kids can't do math. You're not preparing them to buy groceries. You're not preparing them to do accounting, to count their own money. You're not preparing them to read contracts and negotiate salaries,” said Patterson.
Maryland Gov. Wes Moore delivered his first State of the State address last week.
“We made the largest investment in public education by any governor in our state’s history,” Moore said during his speech, making his feelings about public education clear. It’s one of his top priorities.
“We can no longer separate our vision for economic prosperity from the duty to make Maryland’s public schools the best in the nation,” Moore said.
After the State of the State address, WBFF reached out to Moore’s office, asking to speak with him about his plan to improve education. Before becoming governor, Moore lived in Baltimore. WBFF wanted to ask him how he plans to help city students, especially those who attend the 23 schools.
Moore’s office did not respond, but City Schools did send WBFF a statement with steps it’s taking to improve math scores, including professional development for teachers, summer learning and an extended learning period at the end of the day.
The statement said, in part, “We're confident these instructional strategies will help us regain the momentum and progress we experienced before the pandemic.”
Zero percent. What are you preparing these kids for?” said Patterson. “Are we expecting these kids to kill off themselves? I mean, we see the number of teen shootings happening just this year. What jobs are we preparing these kids for? That's the future.”
WBFF found three additional schools where zero students tested proficient in math, which we did not include in the list of 23. One of those schools is for incarcerated youth, and the other two are for students with disabilities. It’s also important to note that another 20 Baltimore City Schools had just one or two students test proficient in math.
==
This level of incapability doesn't suddenly materialize over a 2 year pandemic. It requires a steady program of neglect, incompetence and poor pedagogy. It would be interesting to compare these outcomes to reading and writing proficiency; students who can't read or write can't do math.
