Rick Scott, human scrotum, asks incredulously, in the most bad faith way possible, 'why do we have the DOE?!' The gall.
You could explain to Rick, but he does not care. Like all Republicans out to destroy the public good delivered by the social safety net, Rick thinks defunding education is a funny game he gets to win.
Republicans want education to fail by cutting Federal funding. The cost will just get passed down to states. No improvement.
Here is your refesher on the DOE:

People grumble now when property taxes go up by 0.5% percent to fund schools, they are going to lose their goddamn minds when they find out that when federal school funding ends in accordance to Trump's plan, they'll be on the hook to fund ALL of it. And that Trump's plan to lower federal taxes is.... He won't. Not in the numbers his followers are expecting. He's handing all of the surplus to fund to his kleptocracy after skimming a generous portion off the top. But I'm sure prayer will make up the shortfall, right? /s

in preparation, day one (11/19/24)
Hello! This is day one of my preparation blogging. I've actually been slowly doing things to prepare for a while now, but I've decided to start documenting them to Tumblr today.
Today, after work, was focused on my library building project. I've started to create my own physical AND digital library of books I think are important and relevant to the coming years. I am very believing in the idea that certain books will be in smaller production, if not made completely illegal. So I would like to prepare both for that possibility, and also educate myself while I am at it. (I hope to start posting about the books I read as I go, almost like book reports.)
I've collected quite a few non fiction books on (honest) American history, previous tyrannical rulers, and the impacts of oppression. I have also started compiling "thumb drive libraries" that I can carry with me in my go/bugout bag. If anyone is interested in this, I would love to share what I have downloaded on them so far! And if anyone has any ideas of things I should add, let me know!
So, that is the progress for today!

Lmfao so accurate. I think a lot of people see me that way, but I'm pretty sure I'm just Autistic. Still waiting on that mental eval though, but either way, definitely neurodivergent as FUCK. Sorry not sorry you can't keep up. 😅
Also, we need to recognize the amount of people that feel the need to demonize and ridicule intelligence. Call these people out and hold them accountable every time they make shitty comments like this. Society at large is grossly anti-intellectual because the educated are far more difficult to control and exploit, especially when it comes to a racist and sexist White Nationalist capitalist agenda. All they can do is throw out insults and try to bring others down to their level of ignorance, because they have ZERO critical thinking skills whatsoever and cannot form a rational argument for anything. PLEASE NOTE the Trump Administration planning on entirely GUTTING the Department of Education to further indoctrinate and exploit US Citizens and as a personal vendetta against Jimmy Carter for all his activism. Keep using big words. If they want to catch up they can just ask, use Google, or try a dictionary. If they can't be bothered and would rather insult you rather than discuss the substance of your words, FUCK EM, because they have zero genuine interest in learn, growing, or maturing. And keep on fighting the good fight. ✌
“you talk like a smart/pretentious person” actually I just forget simple words constantly and am forced to rummage through my brain for the nearest synonym, which is usually twice as long and needlessly specific

I am glad I grew up when I did as odd a time as it was. At least we were still being taught things, not just how to regurgitate information memorized in a few hours fueled by anxiety and caffeine. Gen X may get forgotten but we may have been the last generation to be taught those vital skills that seem to be so glaringly absent today.

I was today years old. That is disgusting.
No Child Left Behind is one of the worst things to ever be incentivized in schools. It was signed into law when I was 14. Reading Rainbow was my show as a kid. LeVar Burton played a big part in why I became an avid reader to date. The joy of it. It's an adventure around the globe and through different time periods without stepping on a plane or time machine.
Children parrot behavior. In grade school, I always wanted to read the same amount of books as my teachers (50 books) and managed to double that each year. Before No Child Left Behind, book fairs and Scholastic catalogs were a serious matter like your grandma's Fingerhut catalogs. Libraries were (and still are) a wonderland.
Reading comprehension and proficiency in schools has been declining for decades. A crisis. The joy of books isn't pushed anymore and I'm always saddened by it. It's one of the reasons why I post my book reviews and recommendations on here, as well as posts from others to encourage reading and (novel) writing. Kids will parrot your behavior while the education system sadly fails to return as that example.

Scalise - Demonization of Trump. REALLY! This is more like Book of Eli = Trump.
What is this continuous talk of Demonization…??? And why….??? So many, MANY people continue to do this – day after day, week after week, year after year. PLEASE STOP…!!! It is all a waste of everyone’s time. Steve Scalise was on Fox this morning talking about the Left Demonizing Trump instead of Trump’s record of accomplishments while in office. And on top of it, Scalise brings in God being…

Someone Who Understands Me
Those who know me understand that I have a negative view of teacher’s unions. I have never been a teacher, nor have I attended a school that was run by a union. Regardless, I hate unions in general. When it comes to student outcomes, I especially dislike Teacher Unions. The article below is taken from the BLOG “Sultan Knish the Journalism of Daniel Greenfield.” Once again, Greenfield exposes…

What good is the Federal Department of Education if it cannot address this bullshit in #Florida? That whole situation is an exercise in futility. if federal agencies can not address National issues on the state level, then we don't need them. We'll do it ourselves... And we're telling the whole story.
