Hobonichi journals are so expensive and people are just ignoring the preset templates on each page to make thier pretty spreads for insta and im just like.. you’re ignoring the entire point of this journal and you could have just bought a less expensive regular blank paged journal if you were going to cover up the entire page anyway

Like obviously people can do whatever they want, but the way some people are decorating their Hobonichi’s, they could have just gotten a cheaper blank paged one that let you fill in the date instead for much less lol

Something I understand more and more as I get older is the annoyance of grown women being referred to as “girls” by grown men.

It’s so condescending, even with the best of intentions. I also think that women should not seriously call themselves girls anymore, even in a “fun” way, just to not normalize men thinking it’s perfectly ok to call grown women “girls” since they call themselves that, because we all know that it quickly goes from “youthful girlhood spirit” from women to “condescending and misogynistic” from men so fast…

Hot take: I understand why Sonia Sotomayor doesn’t want to retire in 2024. It would have been an absolutely grueling process to confirm her replacement under a Republican controlled Senate, and her replacement might have never made it onto the court anyways.

Like, ideally for this to have actually helped, she should have retired at least 2 years ago and started that process, NOT in 2024 during an election year where her replacement’s confirmation would have been dragged through the mud and delayed at best, rejected at worst.

We all know that her replacement wouldn’t have successfully gone through the process of getting confirmed because of a myriad of reasons, so 2023 and 2024 was simply too late for her to retire. Genuinely she should have retired back in 2021-2022 to really guarantee that her replacement would actually be picked by Biden and confirmed.

Hate to say it but the common thread of “why are all these women and Latinos voting for Trump and voting against their interests?”

It’s because they genuinely think they are white and their fear of losing whatever rights they believe come from that trumps any rights they might lose as a women and many Latinos think of themselves as white (and actually are white, even though the candidate they voted for publicly shows contempt and disdain against them) Simple as that.
