There’s a video going around about a little kid, maybe at most 3-4 putting the family cat into a trashcan and not only does the kid just nonchalantly put the cat into a pretty deep trashcan and closes the lid, but the parent filming and laughing along.

First of all it’s animal abuse

This makes me think about how little empathy people have towards cats in general. People LOVE to irritate their cats and find their distressed reactions funny to post online. We as a society have normalized how cats can be moody and angry online and so many people find it funny and entertaining, but that’s so wrong.

People have such a tolerance for pet abuse towards cats that would NEVER SLIDE towards dogs. I am dead serious when I say it’s bc society codes cats as female and dogs as male. Also the fact that cats are the ultimate consent animals of which bad pet owners love to violate their boundaries and find it funny to do so.

Imagine the universal uproar if someone let their child throw their small dog into a deep trashcan and closed the lid, while the dog was barking and whining and scratching for their life. People would be tagging PETA and that would be the MILD reaction.

As an adult, YOU are in charge of making your birthday special. I was reading about how so many people are sad on their birthdays bc they are reminded of how old they are, feel lonely, etc, and it's so unnecessary.

Even as a kid, the only way people would celebrate your birthday is if your parent or caregiver would plan something for you, like get a cake, party or dinner and buy you a gift then invite your friends and family over on your behalf to celebrate you.

Same thing as an adult, except YOU are the one that has to make the plans. It's nice if your friends and family do that for you, but that is an extra bonus. Also, if you and your friends aren't doing that now, YOU be the one to start it on THEIR birthday and most likely, if they are a true friend, they will remember that gesture and reciprocate on your next birthday. But it legit has to start with you.

People who are confused about Usha Vance supporting her husband when he has those types of views about immigrants:

1. She believes she is the exception and that her wealth, marriage, and therefore status as the now Second Lady protects her and her family

2. Quite frankly a lot of Indian Americans are deeply racist, even to other Indian Americans and deadass still believe in the caste system
