What is plant growth regulator?
Plant growth regulators are the synthetic or natural chemicals that are responsible in controlling the growth and development of the plant. Natural plant growth regulators are produced with in specific parts of plants in minimal qualities and migrate to other parts, manipulating several physiological functions to regulate the plant’s growth such as promoting plant cell division and cell expansion, leaf expansion, retarding senescence of the leaves, ripening of fruits & vegetables, fruit & flower maturation, and seed germination. The major types of plant growth regulators are cytokinins, auxins, gibberellins, ethylene and abscisic acid.
What are the major applications for Plant growth regulator?
The various end users assessed include fruits & vegetables, turf & ornamental, cereals & grains, oil & seeds, and others. The major fruits that utilize PGR are apples, banana, grapes, mango, litchi, water melon, pine apple, kiwi and others. Vegetables like cucumber, lettuce, spinach, cabbage, pumpkin and others use these plant growth regulators. The main objective for the application of PGR in fruits and vegetables is to support their ripening. This is achieved by ethylene which is also called as ripening hormone.

detroit become human may not have been a great game but they really went off with the rose pruning metaphor
#i didnt really understand it until i was taught to prune roses at work#you always have to cut them at the 5 leaf stems#not 3#and by doing this you can potentially be cutting off healthy plant. the leaves can look fine#and the flowers can still be blooming#but if you cut it at 3 the plant won’t register anything has been removed#so by cutting at 5 you are able to control the plant and encourage new growth#essentially. removing parts that may still have beauty#in order to control it#dbh#me rambling

Truly so demoralizing being so genuinely embarrassed and anxious about doing gardening in my front yard. Like my brain and adrenal system is just absolutely certain everyone that lives around me or walks by is staring and wants me to fail. I give so little fucks usually!! I wear hoop skirts to Target! I am the email sending and and phone call making friend! I have committed truly so so many crimes with nary a pause! I’ve gone to many a queer sex dungeon party! But apparently being witnessed outside with my gay little shovel and gay little gloves in my front yard is just too much.
#like I do understand what is causing this but also this is bullshit#it’s the risking genuine effort on something I can’t fully control (plant growth) to make Perfect#perfectionist fear of failure my beloathed

My string of buttons is still doing beautifully! She shot up overnight a couple of weeks ago and is growing taller ever since. It can't be a light issue; she is right under my grow light. So she must just be growing? My variegated one is already tall so I haven't seen these grow before.
I repotted my Hoya Australis Lisa finally. I'm under the impression she had aphids because I started seeing shiny, sticky spots on her leaves. I didn't think much of it until I noticed a small spot on my moonshine Philo as well. I can't think of anything that could have dropped on them that would have created it, so I'm thinking it is sap, which they produce. I sprayed the plants in that area down with insecticide and wiped the leaves as well. When I changed her substrate I rinsed the roots off completely with a water and hydrogen peroxide solution and watered with neem oil. I think this should be enough to fix the issue after I drench my moonshine Philo as well.

although make sure you (general, not aimed at op) check what blackberries are native to your area! where I live we're dealing with a massive himalayan blackberry problem that's smothering the native plants and getting into patches of old growth forest, and the combination of thorns, 10+ft tall thickets, and gigantic sturdy roots makes them incredibly difficult to remove once they've started growing in protected areas. they also can regrow if you miss any root fragments, so it's often a matter of whacking away at the same thicket for several years on end.
iirc it also outcompetes native blackberries and obstructs/covers water sources for most of the wildlife, and is one of the worst invasive plants in the region.
@guerrilla gardeners, solarpunks and plantarchists of all stripes we need to make a good guide to growing food stealthy style
i'm talking growing in rental properties without alerting the landlord, growing on vacant/unused land, stuff like that
#text posts#blackberries#himalayan blackberry#plants#dont want to give away my location but theres an area nearby thats doing a conservation/reforestation thing#in an area that was historically old growth forest cleared for logging#but theyve been trying to get rid of the blackberries for like 10 years#bc the blackberry thickets smother all the native plants and turn the area into one giant blackberry monoculture#so yeah himalayan blackberries are even more like kudzu#basically the only way to control it is a combination of years worth of goats + digging up roots + fire#its all over the highways but then it gets into green belts and then from there it gets into the forests :/#at least it tastes good

Effortless Addition to My Routine
Tonic Greens is incredibly easy to incorporate into my daily routine. Each morning, I simply mix a scoop into my smoothie or a glass of water. It blends well and doesn't have an unpleasant taste, which is a bonus for someone who isn't a huge fan of vegetables!

Latest Regulatory Trends Impacting the Controlled-release Fertilizers Market
The global controlled-release fertilizers market is projected to reach USD 2.9 billion by 2028 from USD 2.2 billion by 2023, at a CAGR of 5.9% during the forecast period in terms of value. The controlled-release fertilizers market has witnessed significant growth and established its dominance in the global agriculture industry. According to the World Bank Report 2023, approximately 9.2% of the world’s population faced hunger in 2022, compared with 7.9% in 2019. The rising levels of hunger and food insecurity highlight the urgent need to increase agricultural productivity to ensure food availability. Thus, the increasing demand for enhanced agricultural output while reducing environmental effects is one of the main driving factors. These fertilizers deliver nutrients gradually, enhancing plant absorption while lowering leaching and runoff, which helps reduce water pollution. Furthermore, the use of controlled-release fertilizers is accelerated by the push for sustainable agricultural practices, which are complementary to their advantages.

YARA
Yara is primarily engaged in manufacturing and marketing fertilizers and industrial products. The company operates through major business segments, namely, fertilizer and chemical products, freight, and insurance services. Yara is a leading player in global crop nutrition and operates a global leading ammonia and nitrates capacity. Deep agronomic knowledge, crop nutrition solution, and digital capabilities enable Yara to work toward climate positive future. The company offers a wide range of controlled-release fertilizers including YaraBela, YaraVita, YaraVera, and YaraMila. These fertilizers typically consist of granules that contain a blend of essential nutrients such as nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium, along with other secondary and micronutrients. The nutrients are encapsulated within a polymer coating or other controlled-release matrix, which determines the rate at which the nutrients are released into the soil. In September 2021, Yara acquired Ecolan (US), a producer of fertilizers for agriculture and forestry, to expand its organic fertilizer business. This was Yara’s first acquisition in the organic fertilizer segment. This would help improve nutrient use efficiency in this segment by capitalizing on deep crop nutrition knowledge. Yara's goal of enhancing nutrient use efficiency across different farming systems resonates with the benefits of controlled-release fertilizers.

The company has the most extensive crop nutrient product portfolio, combined with its global retail distribution network, which includes more than 1,500 farm retail centers. In the premium technologies segment, the company offers “ESN Smart Nitrogen” which is a controlled-release fertilizer that minimizes nitrogen loss and maximizes crop yield. ESN technology uses a flexible polymer coating to encapsulate a urea granule comprised of 44% nitrogen. The unique coating protects and releases nitrogen based on soil temperature. ESN provides nitrogen based on the demand for the growing crop.
In July 2022, Nutrien Ltd. entered into an agreement to acquire Brazilian company Casa do Adubo S.A. (Casa do Adubo). The acquisition includes 39 retail locations, under the brand Casa do Adubo, and 10 distribution centers, under the brand Agrodistribuidor Casal, in the states of Acre, Bahia, Espirito Santo, Maranhao, Mato Grosso, Minas Gerais, Para, Rio de Janeiro, Rondonia, Sao Paulo, and Tocantins. The acquisition expands the company’s footprint in Brazil from five states to 13 and supports growers in a key region of the world that increasingly rely on to sustainably increase crop production and feed a growing population. With a larger footprint and increased market presence, Nutrien could potentially expand its product offerings to include a wider range of agricultural inputs, including specialized fertilizers like controlled-release fertilizers.

Certainly there were times, and maybe there still are places, where simple neglect will allow a disrupted landscape to return to anything resembling a natural state. But here? On the east coast of the US, where we've been destroying habitat and employing high-control, extractive land management, and expanding urban and suburban areas, for four hundred years now, there is very little left of what was.
The chestnuts are gone. The canebrakes are gone. The wetlands remain only where they were least profitable to remove. The elm suffers, the grasslands are obliterated, the old growth is all logged long since.
I've got front row seats for some of what happens if you leave this land alone. The woods are choked by invasive multiflora rose and Japanese honeysuckle. I don't think I've ever seen a native honeysuckle in person. The fields, left to grow, grow nothing but non-native grasses, poison ivy that sets no berries and feeds no birds, invasive Tree of Heaven saplings that poison the soil with their root exudate, and the occasional hardy locust sapling. There are no flowers there, save a few ironweed and asters late in the year.
If I just leave it alone, those things will keep going, native plants long gone from this place will only appear by some miracle, and this landscape will continue to not support many of the plants, animals, and insects once native to this place. It needs my help. (It needs a lot more than just my help, but we'll see). I can't "return it to its natural state", because ecosystems do not have enduring natural states. But I can see that this land supports a far greater density and variety of native species, and I will do that.
