Hi! this is kinda an art request if u dont mind. And it's angst related, can you draw like where wanda and cosmo obvs have seen for a while how (human) timmy has been treated by his real parents. I just want to see like the "last straw" which lead Cosmo and Wanda wanting them to make Timmy as their own. (IM HAPPY THAT TIMMY HAS A FAMILY THAT LOVES AND CARES FOR HIM)

The "Last Straw"?

Cosmo and Wanda have seen humans at their best. They've seen humans at their worst. They've seen anything and everything that they've gone numb and used to what humans get up to.

But nothing's shaken them quite like Timmy's case did. Nothing has ever made a Fairy feel such strong human emotions than what Timmy made them feel, on that one particular night.

how much do you work with stained glass? I'm really looking to try it out but the initial investment of equipment is scaring me off, I was wondering what stuff you'd consider the bare minimum of things you need to get started?

Honestly I do very little actual stained glass, in terms of soldering glass together. I wind up using my glass tools a fair bit to cut and shape glass for other reasons, like putting in lights or adding to furniture or even just replacing picture frame glass. Doing basic glass cutting is really easy, and the tools required are very inexpensive--a glass cutter, running pliers, grozing pliers, and sandpaper is all you really need to start. I also have some decent glass nippers. Each of those will run you somewhere in the ballpark of ten dollars, give or take a bit. I think my nippers were closer to $20. If you're just wanting to be able to add fun glass to stuff, then that's very achievable.

The more expensive tools are your soldering iron, and a glass grinder. The grinder isn't technically necessary, but the alternative is sanding/shaping entirely by hand, which sucks. Both of these are worth investing in decent tools. Solder and copper foil tape are also not the cheapest, and neither is glass, though glass, at least, you can sometimes find secondhand. If you're working inside, you also want to consider how you're ventilating, and whether you need some type of breath protection. I tend to do most of my soldering outdoors.

Long story short, if you're curious about stained glass but aren't sure if you want to commit, find a place that does workshops! Most stained glass supply stores will have classes somewhere, which usually include at least some of the tools needed. It's worth it to do a class both for the instruction and for the ability to decide if it's something you want to continue doing; it is not a cheap hobby, though it is very cool. Ideally, you'll find people who can point you to the resources you want for whatever type of stained glass you want to do.

#I do consider basic glass cutting skills to be very accessible and a good tool to have in your toolbox #the ability to replace damaged panes of glass or upgrade to fun colors of glass is great #and it;s honestly not that hard #you're going to ruin some glass while you learn but its a fun skill!

gonna say, something or someone being misogynistic is on its own a good enough reason not to like it or not to spend time with that person. It's not just that misogyny is so normalised that not watching a show or not spending with someone just because of misogyny is treated as not enough of a reason - it's also that as a woman, you are under constant scrutiny and constantly thrown tests to show that you are 'not one of the difficult ones', that you can 'take a joke'.

But 'your friend keeps saying degrading things about women' is a good enough reason not to hang out with that person or not to go to a gathering. 'i read the last book by his author and it was deeply misogynistic' is a good enough reason why you don't want to read things by that author anymore. 'This comedian specifically makes a lot of mean-spirited jokes about women' reason enogh not to watch that or see that show, even if your friends want to go. 'This content creator keeps going on weird tangents about women' reason enough not to watch their stuff or support them.

and it is especially a very good reason not to date someone.

#last night i rewatched hbomberguy's plagiarism video and I kept noticing how many female supporters James Somerton had #despite being such a giant misogynist #and this sent me down this mental rabbithole of how often it happened that we had a guy in our friend group who was rude/weird with women #but it was just an issue everyone danced around #and I feel like part of the reason is that misogyny alone is not considered a good enough reason not do something #and I can already see counter-arguments like 'so you're saying I CAN'T enjoy xyz'#I'm aware that it's impossible to cut out everything misogynistic and that you would miss out on a lot of great works if you do #but I'm trying to get out of the habit of immediately hedging what I'm saying and describing every case scenario exception #I'm not saying that you aren't allowed to do something you want to (who am I to do that)#I'm saying that IF you DON'T want to do something because of misogyny - that's reason enough #if something you do in your free time and should be for your enjoyment is so uncomfortable and becomes a chore you are doing for others #you don't have to.#and then the last one. the whole can of worms of how many women date men who hate women...
