Good Omens S2 Thoughts

OBVIOUSLY spoilers for GO S2 below, so if you've not seen, and don't wanna be spoiled, don't read!

The tl;dr of this long post is that I loved S2, it was a lot of fun, and I love that it focused more on Az and Crowley, but I also think it was a little out of pocket and a little messy in writing.

Anyway I fuckin.. am still processing all of what I watched, and am currently rewatching with a friend, too, but here's my jumbled thoughts on S2 and especially the final episode because I'm having many emotions and I need to get my thoughts out somewhere.

Listen. I would like to clarify that I loved S2 and I loved S1, and I think S2 was VERY smart to parse down on supporting characters and keep it stuck to Crowley and Aziraphale for the most part.

I'm assuming that S2 was made with S3 in mind though, esp after this post from Neil Gaiman, bc lord I will cry if there's no S3.

The focus on the story of Job I am being super optimistic in hoping that maybe it's Gaiman punching us in the throat with S2 before offering us a nicer S3... regardless though, I loved the season despite my minor criticisms.

I... do not have anything against Beelzebub/Gabriel, but holy shit was that out of left field for the ending... I just feel that, despite Gabriel having memory loss (it doesn't seem to be COMPLETE since it was kinda touch and go during scenes), they should've sprinkled in some sort of foreshadowing the his relationship or fondness of Beelzebub.

Have him at least not try to decimate that fuckin fly with books, or take an interest in books on forbidden romance, or rebellion against authority, or maybe just flat out have him be interested in Crowley and Aziraphale's relationship, or Nina and Maggie's. Just SOMETHING to set it up a little bit...

EDIT:: while rewatching, I suppose they hinged most of their foreshadowing in Beelzebub's passiveness and interest in Gabriel, but it's a little hard to have a comparison given how little they were in S1

It was only after I skimmed the GO tag that I saw people were pissed about Aziraphale's choice in E6 and I'm kinda just like ??? It's not OOC though... He's always been loyal to Heaven, and the times when he's been questioning, the biggest issue, is that Crowley was an enabler. He kept Aziraphale from REALLY facing the consequences of these decisions because he's acted as a safety net in some of the situations they're put in.

I love the added scenes of the past with Crowley and Aziraphale, they're fuckin great and I like that it continues to expand upon their relationship and "temptations", but I do think it was kinda reiterating stuff we knew from S1... even if it was good fan service, for lack of a better word. I just kinda wish they had sprinkled in more reinforcements of Aziraphale's fealty to heaven. Or, perhaps during the scene when Azira is worried he's going to become a demon, he could take that time to ask Crowley on his feelings on being a demon, and perhaps if he regrets it, just to also set up for the finale desire of Aziraphale in turning Crowley back into an angel.

Regardless though, S3, assuming there is one, will be a big wake up call to Aziraphale when he's left on his own and also under a tighter leash by heaven, especially since Crowley is gone. Also, expanding on Crowley being a high rank when he was an angel made my fuckin night, I still stick to the headcanon that he was the Archangel Raphael, don't @ me

I do think that... some of the stuff that happened in S3 did feel a little like a response to fans as well, since I know Gaiman is on tumblr and Ik the fandom has been really vitriolic over the fact that Az and Crowley didn't kiss or anything in S1... tbh I didn't think it was that big of a deal cause love is shown in many different ways, and I admit I do like that they kissed in S2, but it did also feel uhhh kinda spontaneous.

Not a bad thing, just wasn't expecting it. I did replay the scene bc I'm an angsty bitch. But yeah, I'm like ehhh.

Also Nina and Maggie randomly coming at the end to like.. sit Crowley down and be like "erm youre stupid and in love" felt very weird in a way I can't quite describe, but also felt kinda undeserved. Esp cause Crowley was like "eh I guess". I think the more subtle off handed chat he had with Nina about Aziraphale being his partner was a more elegant way of setting that up, and having him reflect on that instead would've been better. But also tbf he and Azira were being bitches and indeed messing with Maggie and Nina.

I don't like the term of describing content as "fanfic"y because a lot of fanfiction is super well written, but I think S2 was very... fan service-y... rather.

Which tbh I don't mind that much, esp given Gaiman really didn't want an S2 to respect Pratchett's passing as his cowriter. So... meh. I did genuinely dislike the ball scene at the end though. Just... it was really weird, and I'm not sure what they were trying to say with it, other than Aziraphale is fucking demented... and tbh he should've known better since the fucker's been on earth for ages, idk. After talkin with a friend, it just was a really weird scene, and if anything was OOC for him, I think it was that bc his removal of free will, speech, and even actions, was fucking insane.

Also I don't think John Hamm is attractive, so I tbh was just confused for a lot of his scenes that had interactions or alluded to him...

I liked S2, I really did. It was campy, it was a lil sloppy, but it was fun, and it gave a lot more Crowley and Aziraphale being a bitchy little married couple before their fuckin messy ass divorce at the end.

ANYWAY... I really can't wait to see what happens, and I am PRAYING that there'll be an S3. Until then, I will happily sit in my puddle of tears

It's incredibly tough because we no longer have social media that's suitable for fandom interactions the way livejournal was. Individual journals + interest communities which could be easily locked/unlocked as you wanted. Who are you in a friend group(partier, mom, talkative, etc): lol what's a friend group? i kid, i kid. i don't really have any irl friend "groups" anymore, but even back when i did, i was more of a gap filler. like, i wasn't one of the first people invited to things, but then later on if someone dropped out or if the group realised more people could come, then i'd be offered

in online groups, i like to think i'm someone who makes people laugh? i'm definitely the indecisive one who needs to crowdsource every choice put in front of me, but that's what you get when you befriend a nonbinary bisexual lol. i also like to bounce ideas back and forth with people, though admittedly despite how often i do it, i do also hold myself back from it a lot bc i don't want people to think i'm taking their idea and running with it

What brought you to tumblr in the first place: this blog started out because @denim-mixtapes and i, who met through our former blogs dedicated to A Fandom We Don't Talk About Any More, were yelling about eddie munson via snapchat, discord, instagram, our public twitter accounts and our private ones, tiktok, maybe more? and then @fanatictypist, also a friend from AFWDTAAM and deep in the brainrot but never having taken the break from tumblr that mandy and i did, suggested taking our ideas to tumblr bc this was july 2022 when hype was INSANELY real

before that, i made a blog specifically for AFWDTAAM because a) i missed the fandom blog i'd had before that which i had previously deactivated, and b) i realised there was reader insert fanfiction for said fandom, but not enough featuring the person that i liked the most, so i started writing. i'd never written x reader before then.

before that, as i said, i had a fandom blog. it was the one i used to join rp groups on tumblr, which was fun until it wasn't. and i realised that i was going through a cycle of finding a new group, enjoying their company, having major drama ensue, and eventually instead of just moving to another rp group to see the same thing happen over n over again, i just deactivated entirely. i miss rp-ing, but also i wouldn't go back to it at the age of 29

Is there something you regret doing: i have a lot of things that i have learned from, and i regret the fact that actions i've made have hurt people, always inadvertently, but still. i wish that the things that helped me to grow weren't at the expense of other people feeling bad about something in regard to me, but i don't think that constitutes regret.

being autistic, a lot of the time, people seem to just drop me out of seemingly nowhere. and my irl bestie does tell me that a lot of the people i end up befriending, are people she gets a bad vibe from or doesn't really trust, and they're always the ones who don't stick around. but i do feel as though i must be accountable, too, and i know and understand that nobody owes me an explanation if i have done something that warrants them no longer wanting me in their life, but also, how do i know what i need to do to salvage important relationships to me if they don't think it important enough to tell me? that's why i'm a big advocate that your friends should not be your 100% hype men. if they are, i don't trust them. i need people to call me out on my shit and tell me if i'm doing something wrong, or going too far. and i need to feel like i can do the same with them, without them getting offended. it's for both of our benefits

fool - djo: as previously mentioned, am autistic. i got myself diagnosed at 20, and everything suddenly made sense. my mum refused to accept it, told me that everybody's a little on the spectrum, that i only think i am bc i've looked it up and aligned myself with the traits. i learned at 28 that actually, i've had a diagnosis since i was 4. mum just never ever did anything to help me. not when i was going through school wanting to **** ****** bc i knew i was the "weird kid" but i didn't know what made me so weird that everyone ganged up on me so i didn't know how to fix it. turns out i couldn't. i could have gotten more support, but i didn't. and even now that they know i know about the og diagnosis, my parents refuse to acknowledge it. for years, they would scold and bully me away from behaviours that were actually just me stimming, and merely existing as an autistic kid. so i have to put on a persona for them, i have to be their "fool" to appease them rather than just getting to be my authentic, autistic self like i can be around my friends

Any tv shows you watching: i'm rewatching stranger things bc gifmaking has ruined my perception of the actual timeline of events. i'm actively watching the afterparty s2 and only murders in the building s3. it's not really a tv show, but i watch it on my tv, dimension 20's current campaign, mentopolis, is also something i'm actively keeping up with, on top of all actively releasing dropout content

What movie did you last watch: the last movies i put on were the mamma mia films, as background while i wrote, and ever since i've been slowly cooking a mamma mia stranger things au bc i'm basically incapable of consuming any media without relating it to stranger things at this point. i can relate each of the 3 canon characters to eddie, steve and jonathan, but i can't shake the idea that like. what if argyle was one of the potential dads. it wouldn't be a direct parody bc he's so different from any other character in the mamma mia franchise but i think it would be so fun to include him, too

Last thing you read(book, fanfic, etc): i'm reading rebel robin, atm, bc idk why i never really thought to indulge in the stranger things books before now? i used to read doctor who books so it's not like i'm a stranger to consuming media outside of its original format. i'm also currently reading through @pearlypairings' photocheer fic there is a light that never goes out!

i don't know why but recently i've started to see some of the blogs that i've looked up to are becoming salty. at first i didn't assume much, but now that almost everyone is going downhill, it makes me feel very upset and distraught because i thought i would find like-minded people here, but turns out they are decreasing the more i stay. is there no one left in this fandom anymore 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭?

The fandom has been slowly dwindling with each new season. I've been here since the tail end of season 1, and the fandom is not nearly as grand as it once was. Fanfic writers are especially finding that out the hard way as readership has drastically dropped across the board. A lot of it is people that are disgruntled with the show's writing decisions, but in particular right now, things are quiet because we are in a hiatus. Fandom itself is a much different beast than it used to be. There are still fandoms out there for shows that ended years ago because people keep them alive, but with shows now, people tend to drop them the moment they stop putting out new content. We haven't had a new episode in a hot minute, so people are off consuming other things.

It definitely sucks either way because it's not how fandom used to be. The season 2 hiatus was the longest hiatus of the show, but the fandom was the most active it had ever been. I'm talking years between s1 and s2 but the fandom was exploding with content and theories. It's not like that anymore. As some of the OG fans left, the new ones just haven't picked up that mantle of keeping the fandom alive unfortunately.

I haven't been around much lately, been letting my queue run bc I've been busy, but that's more to do with my life outside of tumblr than anything fandom related. 🤷‍♀️ Only advice I can offer is not to get bogged down in numbers. Interact with people you agree with, block people that are salty if it bothers you, support content creators in fandom bc they are the backbone of this society. That includes artists, writers, gifmakers, fandom events, graphic designers. Reblog their shit, leave comments, scream in the tags, send them asks about how you like their content. If people stop interacting, they will eventually stop sharing. Then the fandom will really be dead.

There's something I hope fans take from Christen's post. Though they could be with the best of intentions, in the future, public requests, whether on Twitter or Instagram, for an update on recovery and/or timeline should maybe refrain. It's unnecessary pressure put on the athlete when they themselves might not even know. It could change in a moment. We have no idea what's going on behind closed doors both physically and mentally on their road to recovery. I hope fans take this into account the next time they feel the urge to ask questions. Just offer support and love and leave it at that. Let's relieve these athletes of pressure filled expectations and do right by them. (I'm not including Tumblr in this unless some jerk reposts and tags on other SM fyi).

i find it kinda interesting that the similar-sized ~smaller fandoms I'm in (a certain twitch streamer, various interactive fiction pieces, certain DnD podcasts/shows), you're allowed to put constructive criticism in the main tags (obv hate will always get people riled up) of the work, but Redacted Audio fandom if you go 'Xavier only seems to have gotten introduced to die; we should have seen more of Lovely's difficulty after turning; Imperium!Asher & David's in Cataclysm felt like overpowered a lot (for a couple that weren't initially a thing in season one of Imperium) especially over Imperium!Milo & Sweetheart's current relationship, etc lol...people get upset, they block, no one interacts.

Idk if Erik deleting the Bright Eyes storyline just frightened people into rarely even offering slight notes (which I know some people were annoying about having an unlikable listener), but it's odd. Everyone seems hesitant to give this man anything but glowing praise for everything. Everything lol. He mentioned thinking of himself as a writer first and previously wanting to be an author, but I wonder if he would even be able to incorporate notes from a professional developmental editor (or even try to). I think he could accomplish a lot by even running plans through with a critique partner or two.

Isn't it odd? Ive been in a shit ton of fandoms, but ive never been in one that is like this staunchly anti-critique/anti-analysis. It's strangely cult-like in the way that voicing dissenting opinions, expressing differences in interpretations, or analyzing the work in a way that is more critique driven rather than theory driven gets you shunned. HUGE swathes of hate mail, death threats, suicide baiting, and so on and so forth for daring to not listen to the Word of God or not consuming the plots and messaging on a surface level. I feel like some of these people never developed critical thinking skills. Hell, this fandom will even hates on you for... liking the villians???? The purity culture in this fandom bro....

I do think the aversion to this stuff is bc of the bright eyes and fred situation, at least in large part. But iirc the reason those videos got deleted was because everybody was arguing over who was really in the wrong. I wasn't participating in redacted fandom spaces at the time, but i know the discord was up back then, so it probably has something to do with Erik actually seeing the bickering. No one can convince me he didn't leave the discord for similar reasons. He's probably not on tumblr or twitter or tiktok or ao3 or whatever fucking hellsite looking at our opinions. And shit, even if he was, that's on him bro. The idea that expressing dissatisfaction, dislike, critique, or otherwise not accepting being spoonfed how we're supposed to feel about the work is somehow going to make him delete content is wild.

Said it before, but if he's that sensitive about his work being critiqued, he should not be posting his art online. And i don't mean that in a mean-hearted way, if seeing people not like/critique your art makes you want to hide it or puts pressure on you to change it, you shouldn't put it up online. Protect yourself from the emotional distress yanno? That's one of the reasons i don't post my own drawings/paintings online. My art is very personal to me, and despite knowing im a very good artist, seeing someone not like it or make fun of it would hurt a lot. So i only post my fics online. At least for now.

it sucks having a very specific headcanon that is totally plausible in-universe but also noncompliant with a much-loved fandom headcanon that is so often treated as if it were canon, especially when that one headcanon is one of the more popular topics for fanart/fanfic for said fandom that I literally cannot escape it 🙃 it's a special brand of fandom hell that I can't blame anyone for but drives me insane nonetheless

Hi, my name is Kenny. I’m a 22 year old, non-binary lesbian. I’ve been in the practice for about 10 years now and tho I am by no means an expert, I have some experience that I like to share on occasion. There was nothing personal about the reblog. I understood the joke, and although I am frustrated with a lack of engagement that is not really a personal issue either other than the part 2 comments and the fact that a bunch of writers are gone bc of this treatment. So it's more about how the site works right now and this was an absolutely generalised response to put it out there in the void. (Not even a response to you but to the meme)

Tbh I didn't take it seriously for the first three times I saw it on my dash. Then I just couldn't let it be for the last time. Honestly, the subject of your meme probably doesn't help with the vibe. And again, I'm sorry if this reblog hurt you personally, I honestly didn't think the op would care, that's the case with most memes I came across. But once you put a meme out there (or even a post) a lot can happen to it if ppl start to reblog it. It's like the everything stays on the net once it's up situation but here you put up stuff to share and you risk getting a reaction you did not expect. That's in the cards every time you post something ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Now I see you took this really personally. I was gonna offer it at the end but do you want me to delete the reblog? (Fellow autistic here 🙋🏻‍♀️, totally get your point) Okay, so I'm not sure you know these are especially from a writer's or other kinda creator's side and feel free to skip the rest of this point with the attempted explanation. Most creators spend many hours of their freetime to do the stuff they post for us and they do it for free. When this demand and give nothing behaviour started to spread there were a lot of posts begging to ppl to stop and it all went down from there tbh. So writers/creators even now often put it on their blog that they will block empty blogs and serial likers, well with the empty blogs it's easy, they do nothing to be a part of tumblr bc this site works based on sharing/reblogging. Anyway, first issue that might need explaining is serial liking (some might call it something else). So that happens when "you" go on to like a bunch of posts from a single blog but do not reblog a single one of them. This is especially annoying with fics bc reading takes some time and you can see it in your notifications that this person is reading all your stuff and is probably enjoying them but has no intention to support you with a single reblog which is kinda the equivalent for paying for a book once you chose it. So this is basically you took a book from a store without paying situation. And I'm not saying "you" have to reblog everything "you" read but if that "you" liked it and liked so much of that content the minimum is that "you" even without tags just empty reblog at least one or the masterlist if there is one or whatever. And that is not even it, bc fine like it all "you" want, it will probably result in a blocking eventually. The real issue starts when despite "not paying" they want the writer to give them another piece and they take the time however little it is to make that known. So there's no effort in giving something for exchange for the thing they liked but there is at least some in it for asking for more. And you probably didn't see but there were a bunch of posts about quoted comments of 'part 2' and 'more' and such as the only response to content with the sort of reaction from the creator like 'brother in christy you didn't even reblog the first one'. With that there were also a loooooooooot of posts about explaining the a) this is rude at best b) likes are nice and all but they are kinda nothing c) if a post is not reblogged it will "die" in a few days and all that hard work was for nothing so to speak. The anon hate, bullying in almost every fandom for different opinions is an entirely different issue I personally tend to avoid a mile away and hadn't come across directly (yet) so I won't even go into it here other than that just also makes it more risky to post anything in certain places or on certain subjects. And then I didn't even mention the reporting or labelling fics by random ppl and the stealing content issues.

It's totally up to you what you want or don't wanna do, you don't have to explain. I also tend to whine (I do whine, this is not a poke at you) occasionally about running out of fics to read while I'm still fixating on something. And I can't talk for @bakerstreethound but I think that was also more of a generalised you despite mentioning op, that is a pretty common response to say if you don't like it don't read it or don't like it make your own stuff, as I mentioned this is a sore subject all around for creators and we tend to go for the throat sometimes

We do understand the joke, it's just a really really reeeeeeeeeeeally sore spot for many people at the moment (or have been for a while) I hope you are doing okay

hi! hope this reply finds you.. eventually. I accidentally deleted your ask when I actually wanted to delete another one (sorry) but I was meaning to reply to a few people in a single post anyway and took provisional screenshots! so this was a lucky coincidence!

thank you for reading Children of the Red Dust! my pride and joy :D but since you know me from word of honor I.. kind of guess why you would be confused by my previous post about my “fandoms of interest”, as u say.

so, originally (I believe it was around either 2017 or 2018, cannot guarantee on that I’m afraid) this was a side-blog spurred from my need to compartmentalize and gush about my experience of re-reading a few of my favorite fics from the hobbit fandom. back then, in fact, I was in a slump and needed to pick myself up. so I decided to revisit fandoms who had brought me joy in the past, one of which was the bagginshield ship. hence a “nostalgia” blog!

coincidentally, one of the authors of a particular fic among those would have later on (in 2020) influenced my decision to try reading mdzs since they were considering writing a fic about it. they were (and still are!) one of my favorite fic authors, so I trusted them completely on that and that’s how I stepped into the world of danmei!

first it was the untamed, then winter begonia and finally word of honor, through which you have come to meet me :) isn’t that magical?

now. in regards of your second question.. thank you for letting me ramble about my new shiny interests! :D

so here’s a handy list:

1. hotd & r//haenicent :

oh, where do I start! that’s a tough one bc I’m mostly vibing in here?? like. don’t get me wrong, I love the show as it is and I do enjoy the lore behind it a great deal. I’m mostly absorbing the content and let it either shock me or impress me depending on what’s on screen. I do see the flaws but I honestly don’t care about them. I’m just vibing, as I said. but I do like to see people posting meta about the reasoning behind each character! and I love reading about the actors’ ideas behind their back stories and motivations!

my ship of choice is mostly based on the fact that I do like me some toxic-ladies-twice-divorced energy in the room and I should add that I haven’t probably been able to watch killing eve yet just so I could prepare my tastebuds with the hotd female leads first. I especially love the modern!au edits I’m seeing floating around and for now that’s enough to keep me from starving until the new season arrives.

2. the devil judge :

honestly, my focus would be gone on all planes of existence wasn’t it for @/amethystina’s fic (I don’t want to bother her with me tagging her on this, but do trust me and go read it bc it’s gonna change your life!) Who Holds The Devil. seriously, my anxiety has been so bad recently but there she glows, the most massive brain in the universe, bringing us frequent updates despite her busy schedule (and, apparently?? she wrote an entire 100k words fic in the strangers from hell fandom on a whim?? so if that’s your vibe you can go feast on that baby and have a fucking party while you’re at it. thank me later)

no but for real. it’s almost camp. almost. the drama, I mean. all it needs is a feathered boa and it checks out. outlandish villains that do be sounding a little too similar to IRL egotistical capitalist pigs, dangerous pretty ladies, rich bitches (Kang YoHan included), mysteries™️, boytoys and sassy teenagers. there are a few complains I have, ngl, but the vibes are immaculate imo. I would also offer, in a similar vein, kdramas like little women (a recent favorite of mine!), beyond evil (a classic at this point) and, on a bigger scale, the glory (which I have yet to watch, contrary to the first two).

3. helluva boss :

this one caught me off guard, ngl. I used to see it trending on tumblr often but thought it was just the most recent western brand of animation that people get hooked on for the witty dialogue and vaguely philosophical themes being explored (as u can see idk anything about these things, I thought it was similar to adventure time or smth, the fool that I was!). what I got instead was great animation and complex three-dimensional characters overall. now I’ve rewatched the entirety of the available episodes perhaps ten times. honestly, my anxiety really needed that.

as with hotd, I’m just vibing.. but I’m very engaged. I felt almost euphoric at the thought that animators and artists could just.. have fun with it? I’m sure there’s an enormous amount of work involved in the production of every single episode, so I’m just leaning back and enjoy the show. bad gays are hella entertaining and I’m here for it. coincidentally, around the same time I started actively watching the series I found out about a new queer short film that is being developed called the lovers! it’s gonna be a long wait but it’s gonna be worth it :D

4. don’t hug me I’m scared :

this was a fun one. when it first came out (idr when tho) I remember being very uncomfortable with the material. it reminded me of Flat Eric, a yellow puppet used in dance music videos of some artist or smth: it used to terrify me as a child and dhmis evoked the same reaction out of me in the beginning. but then I watched some video essay on the matter and I grew more accustomed to the feel of it and became interested in the though process behind it instead. first video I watched on the topic was about an interpretation of the show through an autistic perspective and the other was a.. I believe a 3 or 4 hours video making an overview on the whole lore behind it.

I’m not very interested in “finding out what does this all mean” or anything of the sort. I’m just here for the cosplays xD no but really, people are so inventive! and they make merchandise and dolls and drawings and full on costumes all on their own! that’s creative as fuck! and it’s unsettling and evocative at the same time. I’m baffled by everyone’s talents and I’m merely wishing to be as good as them ahah.

5. dune & the hunger games :

not sure how this happened. I have read the latter series but not the first, I don’t have time for that. but I can digest a movie or two and the visuals are very interesting to me! also I am a bene gesserit simp and I hate them and their ways in equal measure. idk why but that’s how it is. similarly, I want to see how the cast for the prequel of hunger games does! I’ve heard the lovely viola davis is in it and I’m thrilled to see her being unhinged :D

but mostly, I re-evaluated the entire hunger game trilogy by reading meta posts and fics exploring the story from different perspective in the past and this new movie reignited the interest for the time being, so I’m excited to give it a try! dune, on the other hand, is new for me and it’s helping me bond with my dad on our shared love for sci-fi. what’s not to love??

6. succession :

I’m honestly not sure about this one. I plan to look more into it but idk when I will have the time ahah. if nothing it will entertain me with rich people drama which is always obnoxiously fun to tap into when capitalism fucks me over one way or another. we will see!

✔ He almost resembles like a big brother helping out his little sister. Kou’s pointed this out before and Ruki gets a little uptight about it because he views her as Karlheinz’s offering to them—nothing more, nothing less.

✔ Occasionally has tea with her and teachers her how to sit properly in her chair when having tea, along with other mannerisms associated with the table.

✔ Teaches her how to cook, and if it’s a simple meal, he’ll let her cook it, but of course one of the M brothers is supervising her so she doesn’t burn the place down.

✔ Is usually the one to check on her well being, especailly if she’s not the type to talk.

✔ “You know if something is bothering you, you can talk to me about it?”

✔ Kou was once walking through the mansion shirtless because he had to ask Ruki about something and she noticed the scars on his back.

✔ “Well, I like your singing too, but Azusa’s voice is really nice. He should be an idol too.”

✔ Kou teases her if she has a crush on a boy.  He asks for details and will even tickle her to get an answer if she doesn't want to give him one.

✔ “No!” She'd say in a tone attempting to hide it.

✔ He has her model clothes that are currently in style and buys them if she wants them.

✔ "I don't know if this is me?" She’d say, trying on a newly released dress.

✔ “It’s totally you. Let’s buy it!” Kou would encourage.

✔ He encourages her to do anything. If it makes her happy, then it's worth it.

✔ He buys her gifts and cute clothes when he comes back from work.

✔ One time he brought a chick home and was getting a little to intimate with her in the living room and she walked in them.

✔ “Kou, what are you doing?”

✔ “Oh, hey- HEY!” He said, breaking away from the girl, pushing her away and turning his attention to the little girl. “Y/n, what are you doing here!”

✔ “I was just getting a glass of water.”

✔ “Oh, that’s good.” He’d say, attempting to play innocent. “How about you go upstairs to your room? I’ll be up in a little bit to tell you a story. I have to have a little ‘grown up’ talk with my friend here.” He’d say, referring towards the girl he brought home.

✔ “Oh . . . ok.” She said, walking away to her room, being oblivious to what Kou was really up to, leaving him to get away with it.

✔ At least, he thought he did. The next day, she’d ask during breakfast with them, “Hey, what does it mean when a boy kisses a girl’s neck?”

✔ Everyone at the table was stunned, Azusa dropped his spoon even, leaving it to fall on the floor with a loud a clink

✔ Ruki cleared his throat. “Where is this coming from?”

✔ “Well, Kou had a friend over last night.”

✔ “What the hell, dude!” Yuma would yell, turning to Kou.

✔ “Hey man, it was no big deal.” Kou say, trying to cover it up.

✔ “No big deal?!” He’d say, now grabbing Kou by his shirt. “She’s asking what the hell that means?! What are we supposed to tell her now?!”

✔ “Is this adult talk?” She’d ask innocently.

✔ “Dude, you’re making it worse.” Kou would say.

✔ “Look who’s talkin’! The asshole who caused trouble!” Yuma would roar.

✔ At this point, Ruki quickly got out of his seat and escorted her out of the room so he could talk to her and explaining, leaving those two to bicker.

✔ Azusa would try to calm them down, but he’s mostly just listening and hoping to get hit if a physical fight breaks out between them.

✔ When she does come of age, it seems like he'd throw away the relationship he's had with her and treat her like crap.

✔ It would definitely come as a psychological shock and possibly lead to trauma.

Yuma:

✔ Teaches her how to garden and makes her help him out with gardening in general.

✔ Such as watering the crops, picking them when the time is right and planting new ones for the incoming season.

✔ He especially scolds her about tomatoes and when they’re ready to pick. Like, he’s the biggest critic about this.

✔ One time, she picked a tomato that looked ready but really wasn’t. He was so upset about it and scolded her about it.

✔ “You can’t pick ’em at that stage. They’re foolin’ ya. When you eat it, it won’t taste right.”

✔ From then on, he took her under his wing and gave specific instructions on when to pick certain things, or to just ask him for help if she needed something.

✔ He sometimes chases her around the garden too, but goes easy on her due to his vampire speed.

✔ Sometimes Kou joins in along with Azusa, but it usually ends with Kou getting thrown through the window by Yuma for cheating by using his vampire speed.

✔ Sometimes curses in front of her if shit doesn't go right, and if Ruki's there, he's going to scold him for it.

✔ Sometimes, he'll get into mature subjects with her without realizing it and when she doesn't understand him and asks what he means, he's just like "Don't worry about it."

✔ Shares his sugar cubes with her only sometimes. Such as if she's having a bad day, or she helped him out in some way.

✔ Asks if she's getting bullied at school and teaches her how to defend herself just in case anyone does.

✔ And, when he's demonstrating a self-defense move, he uses Kou as a dummy to show her how it works along with the impact it gives.

✔ Every time Azusa witnesses these sessions, he's like waiting and begging for Yuma to use him as a dummy, but Yuma won't because he likes Azusa and doesn't want to hurt him.

✔ Sometimes cooks with Yuma, and if Kou wants to help, it’s going to get wild in that kitchen with them arguing.

✔ For example, Yuma will tell her to cut the vegetables in a certain way, while Kou will show her an alternative way that’s easier.

✔ “That’s not gonna work, dumbass. You’re not supposed to cut them that way, it doesn’t match the dish we’re making.”

✔ “Oh yeah! Alright Mr. Iron Chef, why don’t you show us how?!” Kou would sass.

✔ The little girl reminds them not to fight because she doesn’t want to see that. “Don’t fight. You’re brothers, you’re supposed to love each other.”

✔ “Ha?! What load of crap is that?” Yuma would comment.

✔ “Yuma, language.” Ruki would chime in, coming in at the right time before a serious fight broke out between the two.

✔ Yuma might say insensitive things to her when he's scolding her, leading her to cry and Kou gets pissed at him about that.

✔ "Dude, you can't say those things. She's twelve."

✔ "Hey, I didn't mean it. I was just trying to teach her."

✔ She usually goes to Kou or Azusa when he makes her cry.

✔ And Yuma feels like total shit knowing he made her cry. He eventually sits down and apologizes, giving her a sugar cube, and if no one's watching, a hug.

✔ Aww :')

✔ She witnesses Kou and Yuma fight a lot, especially if she's hanging out with Kou and Yuma wants her to help him out with other stuff around the house.

✔ One time a fight ended up getting heated, so she stepped in and got hit by Yuma on accident.

✔ Meanwhile, Azusa tried to get involved in the fight in order to get hit, but it didn’t happen. She ended up getting hurt instead.

✔ Yuma’s accidental hit caused her to have a bruised face or a bloody nose and Ruki was pissed when he found out.

✔ Mostly because he’s going to be the one to take care of her.

✔ Afterwards, Yuma went to have a little chat with her and to apologize.

✔ “I’m sorry about earlier. You can’t get in fights I’m involved in. Do you understand?”

✔ “Yeah . . . I was just trying to help.”

✔ “Alright. Promise me you won’t get involved from now on.”

✔ “Okay . . . I promise.”

Azusa:

✔ Reads her bedtime stories.

✔ He wanted to show his knife collection to her, but Ruki had a strict talk with him about not doing that since it would possibly give her nightmares and scare her to death.

✔ She comes to him whenever she has a nightmare and he comforts her and allows her to sleep in his bed for the night.

✔ Plays board games with her, especially if just the two of them are at home.

✔ He always lets her win because he’d feel bad to make her lose.

✔ Might even tell her to beat him as a reward, which she doesn’t understand, and because she doesn’t, he changes subject.

✔ However, Yuma once walked in on him suggesting this and got really pissed off.

✔ “No man, she’s not doing that. What did I talk about with you before I left?” Yuma would remind.

✔ “Oh yeah . . . sorry, Yuma.”

✔ Might even adopt a pet with her and take care of it.

✔ Likes to go on walks with her and possibly pick flowers with her from the courtyard.

✔ She once asked him about all the bandages on his arms. He was about to tell her the reason behind them, but luckily, Kou just so happened to walk in and derailed the subject.

✔ Ruki had another strict talk with Azusa about that as well.

✔ He sometimes makes her sweets for no reason, it’s just cuz he’s kind like that.

✔ Also gives her piggy back rides around the house and tells him to go faster.

✔ And one time, he ended up knocking a vase over and it just so happened to be Ruki’s favorite.

✔ He took the blame entire and hoped Ruki would beat him, but Ruki played it off as nothing and moved on with his day because he knows Azusa would thrive on the pain, thus, not solving anything.

✔ Helps her wash the dishes after everyone is done eating.

✔ If she’s cold, he gives her his sweater.

✔ Covers her ears when Yuma is swearing or if there is a sensitive conversation.

✔ He’ll even cover her eyes if something is too gruesome or if Kou was doing something sexual with some girl.

✔ Azusa doesn’t want her to witness such things.
