That bitch Andre the Ice Cream Man is so wishy washy with his ice cream philosophy. Marichat can't get ice cream without you throwing a tantrum, but Lukanette and Adrigami can? And then Adrienette? Guess you can't read soulmates well after all. Stop pretending you know everything about everybody. Get back to the office job buddy.

I remember hearing that, when you were still writing your Scarlet Lady AU, you were considering having Chloé steal the Butterfly Miraculous and become the series' new antagonist after Hawk Moth's defeat. Is this true? And if so, what kind of villain would Chloé have been? Did you have any new ideas about how to write her after watching Miraculous season 6? Would she have been like Chrysalis? Chloé isn't as intelligent as Lila, so I imagine her strategies would be much simpler. Do you have a Villan Name for this version of Chloé?
Um, no, I never once considered having Chloe get the Butterfly (I considered NATHALIE getting it instead of the Peacock). Chloe would make a horrible butterfly, she wouldn't be able to relate to anyone emotionally and would be absolutely useless at emotionally manipulating them into doing her bidding. She'd probably have every akuma turn on her at one point, it would be a total disaster for her.

Perhaps i'm just being a pessimist but every episode that brings up Marinette keeping Hawkmoth's identity a secret from Adrien is making me dread when it does finally happened cuz let's face it, it's gonna be underwhelming and go one of three ways.
Ephemeral/Chat Blanc 3.0: someone else learns the truth alongside Adrien, his reaction is not important here as that other person creates a situation that leads him to be akumatized, Alix or Sass shows up and undoes it all with the takeaway message once again being "Adrien learning = bad" crap despite it being the fault of a third party also learning then exploiting it.
Truth & Lies 2.0: Adrien learns the truth in the finale, leading to Adrienette *gasp* breaking up or Chat & LB losing their partnership and changing the status quo... till the first episode of season seven where they immediately get back together.
Miraculous Chat Noir: gets revealed in the finale, Adrian either not wanting to deal with the knowledge or prioritizes Ladybug's feelings over his, uses that literal get-out-of-jail-free card on himself, and/or maybe LB, thus, continuing the status quo, role reversing it(which is far more interesting yet very unlikely), or making it no longer plot relevant at all.
I agree that those are the most likely choices. I actually think option two is a little too optimistic as I don't see canon breaking Adrienette up. As much as I don't like them as a couple, breaking them up after five seasons of buildup just feels cheap if the goal is to have them end the story together. Why bother to get them together if you were just going to break them up and go back to the will-they-won't-they BS? Then again, Miraculous does love to add drama they can't properly address so maybe option two is the most likely, lol.
As far as the lie reveal goes, if Miraculous had logical writing, my money would be on option three because why introduce a new power if you're not going to use it for something big? However, Miraculous loves to throw shit at the wall and then forget about it so the introduction of a new power means nothing concrete. I'm still salty that Confrontation cut the scene where Alya apologizes to Marinette in order to give us this pointless BS that never came up again:
Denis Damoclès: Cat Noir?! Oh, even superheroes are going to witness how incompetent I am! I'm worse than a supervillain! (sobs) (Juleka walks towards Denis Damoclès, with her glowing Magical Charm in her hand.) Juleka: You... You... You can do this, Denis Damoclès! (The whole class is stunned, especially Denis Damoclès.) Denis Damoclès: J-J-Juleka! Your speech impediment! Juleka: Every student in this school and all the teachers are counting on their super principal! Monarch: (from his lair) The Megakuma should break the Magical Charm! Why isn't it working?! (Denis Damoclès brings out his Magical Charm, glowing brighter than ever, as Juleka shows hers that is glowing bright as well.) Denis Damoclès: Yes! I-I can do this, too! I can still make everything right! (His Magical Charm gives out the brightest glow as it turns into a shield. The Megakuma flies towards him...) Marinette: NO! (...but the shield deflects the Megakuma successfully, and purifies it too.) Monarch: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! (Denis Damoclès' shield reverts to his magical charm. The whole class celebrates and gives Denis Damoclès a group hug.)
What was the point of this??? Why introduce the shield power here? It's not like it mattered in the final! It literally never comes up again in season five. I don't think we've even seen it in season six. Because of the real-world time gap between this episode and whenever the power is next used, I can guarantee you that people will have forgotten that this power exists because its introduction was so random and unimportant. That means that the writers are going to leave a significant chunk of the audience baffled if they bring it up in a later season without reintroducing it which is why introducing it in season five was pointless. It added nothing to season five and won't save time in season whenever. Proper setup and payoff relies on good timing and, most of the time, Miraculous has embarrassingly bad timing.
While I was writing this, I thought of a fourth option I'll add to the list: Adrien rewriting everyone's memories and accidentally wiping his relationship with Marinette in the process, resetting the love square without the complications of an actual breakup. Oh, or maybe we switch the lies from Marinette to Adrien? That's unlikely because it would mean Adrien got to be an active character instead of the love interest, but at the same time it's also the most needlessly complex route and that IS the route that Miraculous tends to choose...

What inspired you to ship Aurore with Kagami? :)
Honestly I don't really know, it's only not a crack ship because they at least exist in the same universe lol.
I guess factors include me just thinking Kagami gives strong Lesbian vibes, I wanted someone to drool over her when she came to Chloe's party like it's the freaking Met Gala, and the Dragon has actual weather powers.

Idk if that’s what she’d call herself really, but I think it’s cool. (Better than Storm Dragon, which was my other idea.) Anyway, tada! It’s Aurore with the dragon miraculous! This was a design I’d been wanting to do for a long time, but unfortunately it doesn’t really have an AU to go with it. I just thought it made too much sense not to draw. But yeah, this is her! Cute right?

A bit of a random question : how would you imagine the events of BURN THE WITCH! happening in the Scarlet Lady continuity - assuming Lila is just as bad as in Canon?
@zoe-oneesama, since you are part of this, too.
SO.
I had a whole thing written up. A whole thing. And it was so awesome! I was so proud and happy with it. I was one paragraph away from being done and posting my glorious synopsis for the world to see. And then the screen refreshed, and I lost it all.  DX
So here’s my slightly less awesome description of the idea that I had to try and recover through memory. Fallible inferior memory of what could’ve been:
So if we’re ignoring Lila’s development and how glorious it would be to have Witch Hunter targeting Scar at the climax of the fall of her popularity, this would be a little more difficult to work with. Difficult, but still very much doable.
There are two ways it could work.
The first would be that Scar DIDN’T out Lila to the entire class so no one besides Chloe knows Lila is a liar. Perhaps the lazy option and closest to Canon, but it still works better than the Canon setup. Chloe would try to tell people that Lila is a liar and it would make sense that no one believes her because…well…it’s Chloe. She’s a known liar herself. AND a bully.
Of course, there’s still the matter of Adrien falling into jerk territory for not telling anyone that Lila is a liar, but given that this IS Scarlet Lady Adrien, we can arguably attribute his poor decision-making to his lack of sleep and added stress from solo hero duty. As such, I’m willing to give this iteration of him a break for not wanting to deal with the added drama between two girls he doesn’t want to be around anyway. Plus, it would be hilarious to see Chloe and Lila sabotaging themselves sabotaging each other in their attempts to rule the class and “win” him, only for each episode to end with Adrien hanging out with Marinette or Nino, because the boy deserves nice things and I live for the bromance.
The second option would be that Lila is outted but fakes her redemption arc.
After all, the classmates are naturally very easily forgiving of people. And Lila is a new student. All she would have to do is apologize and make up some claims, and they would totally be on board with still being friends.
Sure, they would take any of her future lies with a grain of salt, but that would only be her tall tales. Specifically her lies about connections and fame and the lies meant to make her seem “bigger than life“. That wouldn’t quite be the case for the lies made to make her seem weak and vulnerable. Especially if she kickstarts her new brand of manipulation by being just that.
“I’m SO sorry! *sobsob* I was so nervous being the new girl in a new school, and I was scared you wouldn’t like me. And you all are so cool that I wanted to be as amazing as you. *sob* I didn’t mean to hurt anyone! Could you ever forgive me? *sadface*”
And you know they would. Which would make for a particularly sinister form of emotional manipulation as she plays up the remorseful act. “I understand if you don’t believe me. It’s okay if you don’t forgive me yet.” Which would immediately invoke reassurance that of course they believe her and of course they forgive her! Which would distract from her current manipulations and suspicious behaviors. Emotional appeals are like that—focus on feelings and respond to those feelings instead of facts or truth.
And since Lila is “working so hard to be better”, of course they would want to support her in her efforts. Such as say, charity work. She may not go so far as to make up a charity like she did in the OG BURN THE WITCH!, but she can collect funds…which can then “mysteriously disappear” on the way to their final destination.
Meanwhile, Chloe would be the only one actively against it, which would make her a character for Lila to work off of. Nothing makes a liar look good like having someone else look like a bully. And Chloe’s attempts to out Lila for her manipulations wouldn’t get anywhere since it would be brushed off as Chloe being vindictive and not forgiving Lila over a past petty issue that everyone else has already moved on from. Which works both in and out of story because it is true. Right for the wrong reasons and all.
Unfortunately, this does mean that Chloe would get to do the “I Told You So” Dance when Lila does eventually pull her final stunt and gets caught.
Which would lead to Witch Hunter. It could be Rose again, though since the charity would be verified and she would be dating Ali this go around, he wouldn’t likely be mad or blame Rose for being deceived so she may feel less like her world is ripped out from under her. Mylene would also be an option as given her activism and involvement in the community, it’s something she would take seriously. It could even be Ivan or one of the boys. I’m not picky!
There are options!
So regardless, SOMEone is getting akumatized to burn a witch.
…which would lead to two major problems in story.
The first, of course, would be that Scar is our Ladybug hero and she would happily let Lila burn. This girl intentionally led akumas to Marinette TWICE previously in the comic and also tried to hand her over to zombies another time—not even as a sacrifice or needed act to protect herself but simply out of pure spite. You KNOW she would get Lila caught immediately. She wouldn’t even be affected by the akuma. She would just hand her over and watch the show.
The second problem is that depending on when this takes place in the comic timeline, Marinette may not yet be Marigold. And since she wasn’t the one to out Lila, depending on which of the earlier mentioned to out Lila or not to out Lila versions we take, she may not be already aware of the depth of Lila‘s selfishness, which would make her susceptible to Witch Hunter and likely make her a part of the angry mob...assuming she doesn’t get akumatized into Witch Hunter herself.
Which means it would be up to Chat. A very tired, incredibly stressed out, and just about “done with this sh**” Chat. To save someone he hates from consequences she arguably deserves. All while resisting the urge to cataclysm her himself.
Especially if she’s wasting time trying to manipulate him. Especially especially if Marinette follows the role of her self from the OG and tries to help Lila only for Lila to pull another “sudden but inevitable betrayal” and try to leave Marinette to the mercy of the mob.
His responses are open for debate at this point.
On the one hand, being the main hero and already hating Lila would grant him protection from the control effect so he could still save the day. And I imagine he would be SIGNIFICANTLY more terrifying than Ladybug was in the aftermath. See Ladybug’s “I will follow you around and make your life exceedingly unpleasant using the circumstances you have created and brought upon yourself” To The Pain vs Chat’s “Let me describe to you what Cataclysm can do to the human body. In detail.” Real Horror with serious implications and be careful with what you try to touch in the future *politesmile*.
…on the other hand, it amuses me to imagine Chat gets affected and helps stop Witch Hunter anyway. Either because he’s just that resigned to the job, because he sees Scar wants Lila burned and even when he’s under the akuma’s influence he still despises Scar more, or because Marinette remains sane and manages to navigate him to help either through cunning or out of his love for her.
……on the other OTHER hand, we were denied an akumatized Marinette in the comic and this could be a way to do it. Chat stays sane and ends up convincing Akumanette to stop out of her love for him to be the bigger person. Yes. Totally.
Chat: (Hugs Akumanette)
Marinette: (Deakumatizes)
Scar: (In background) Booooo. Laaaaame.
Lila: (Tied to a pole) Still tied up here!
Chat: Eh, you’ll be fine.
And since Akumanette is defeated and everyone is freed from the mob control with her defeat, there’s no need for the Cure. So we get the festival still set up and Chat and Mari can have a date.
And they may or may not leave Lila tied up while they do. Plus Lila is still left drenched in Seine water. So all in all, not a pleasant experience. And ultimately, she ends up in the same boat she was at the end of the original story, which I think is what everyone really wanted anyway.
Sadly, that includes Chloe. She will count it as a victory and be bragging about it for a while. A long while.
But she’ll be getting hers soon enough anyway, so it will all work out.

Zoe, how do you manage to create this fashion design or redesign of the Miraculous characters?
You seem to understand fashion, this thing, you're being very critical, I like that, could you give me some tips?
Because you seem to have studied fashion arts, especially from Scarlet Lady, which I loved, where the characters change clothes instead of wearing the same clothes 24 hours a day.
Do you understand how to combine which character would best match such personality by personality or appearance and if
Anyway, I'm a big fan of your art, especially the future you're creating. Thank you very much for answering me if possible.
Wow thank you! That's high praise! I actually haven't studied anything about fashion from an academic point of view, I'm just really passionate about character design lol. I think I actually come at it from a Cosplayer angle - I want to draw characters that people would want to cosplay as, so I want to make them a little more interesting than everyday clothes.
Not to say a casual look doesn't make good character design, but I just have more fun with drawing a character that has something fashion forward going on. Especially when they are CANONICALLY supposed to be fashionable!
As for "how I do it", I just look up sooooo many different references. I feel like it's not that hard to marry a character's personality and life circumstances to their fashion - if anything, their fashion is just another vehicle to getting their personality and backstory across.
Example: Ivan is a irritable loner with a rough homelife who gets his aggression out through music, so he dresses in almost no color and dons band tshirts. Visually is he striking or like something you want to immediately craft a Cosplay over? No, but it doesn't have to be - Ivan's fashion fits Ivan.
I've actually been asked for tips in the past, so I gotchu over here. I stand by what I said here even 5 years later~
Anway, with Miraculous Ladybug, sooooo many characters are tied to Fashion or Legacies that Prioritize Appearances, so I feel like those characters should be, I dunno, fashionable? Marinette, Chloe, Adrien, even Kagami and Nathalie should be going harder than they are and it's weiiiiiird that they're not.

do you dislike anything about Chloe season six design from miraculous if you do, can you tell me what
Tumblr media
Ehhhhhh mixed bag. I love the new hair and she wouldn't be Chloe without her sunglasses, so neck up, 10/10. When we first saw only her upper torso in "Daddycop", I was kinda put off by her cardigan looking so....cozy? Like, I like the honeycomb pattern, but it looks thicker than her old one and kinda long, so like...comfy. Which, visually, I don't mind, but uh...
Chloe is NOT cozy or comfy.
Then we saw the rest of her in "Climatiqueen" and I was like "huh?!" This is partially the fault of the animation style giving all their characters the longest legs ever, but her skirt is too long despite being above the knee, which makes it too Corporate in the shots that don't show the hem imo. And with it having the same pattern and color of the Too Cozy Cardigan (which I think is supposed to be some kind of blazer but the collar gives Cardigan), it's just too busy.
I think they were going for "Clueless" vibes, with the all over same pattern and cute colors mixed with grown up suit cuts, like this:
Tumblr media
But I don't think it works with just any pattern, there's a reason these are all plaid. And her skirt isn't youthful enough like a pleated one or a high waisted pencil. It's skirting of Just Left of Correct for me.
Then they dropped in "Revelator" that she's now an online fashion influencer and I was so annoyed. Just like Adrien, they didn't PUSH it hard enough for a So Called Fashion Icon. The show writers/designers should just abandon trying to put everyone in the Fashion industry when they don't care enough about it.
So anyway, my version based off what we know of Chloe in Season 6:
Tumblr media
(Once again, the canon one doesn't look as bad to me when I draw it in my style lmao)
I think if she's going to be a Fashion Influencer, it's about time she got roasted for her makeup - and corrects it! I think the length of her original skirt is too long to pair with go-go boots so I traded those out for ankle boots, and tried to give her a skirt that you wouldn't find just anywhere. I know she's clinging to her Queen Bee status, but she can ditch the dumb-thick stripe top finally. My design does have the consequence of not being interesting when cut off in a close shot, but that's not a big deal to me lol.

The Lady-Buggers
Tumblr media
I just felt like drawing all the different Ladybugs that are complete pieces of work, aka @zoe-oneesama’s Scarlet Lady, @nionom-art’s Cochineala and my own Princess Ladybug. I herby dub them the Lady-buggers because they all bug everyone who works with them. I drew this because I just knew they’d bug each other if they ever met. Anyways, here they are, and they’re all fighting for your attention. :)
*Edit—I had no idea what Bugger meant, weirdly—I just thought it meant like they bug you, like bother or annoying or something? Gee, now I feel like an uneducated American. Oh well. The more you learn. :)

Kid Monkey
Tumblr media
Results are in, and the Monkey won, so here’s Froggy as Kid Monkey. He’s definitely an agent of chaos, and he probably hits everyone with that stick. Also he has awful aim, (more like he isn’t trying,) so when he throws his Uproar toys they don’t always hit what Miss Terra wants them to hit. Also he’s a terrible listener, and probably spends group planning sessions doing Parkour with his stick and making faces at Kitty Tiger, (who gets more annoyed than is reasonable because kids be sensitive.) So yeah, just really hard to work with, but he’s generally good natured. Plus, Xuppu loves him, so… I guess there’s that. :)

How would things have changed in your Scarlet Lady au if Chloé had stolen the Cat Miraculous instead of the Ladybug's? Would she have accidentally killed any akumatized Villan with her cataclysm? What kind of damage would she have caused with that power? I imagine she would use It Very irresponsibly, Just like she did with the Lucky Charm.
Well, it wouldn't be the Scarlet Lady AU anymore lol and I've actually answered this 6 years ago. I feel like it's totally possible for Chloe to go one of two ways in that scenario - full tragic villain route, or redemption through apprenticeship route.
Being Scarlet Lady gave Chloe an overly inflated head, even more so than canon. All by virtue of being the Necessary Hero, which gave her the freedom to be, well, irresponsible and sloppy.
But with the Cat, sloppiness leads to unnecessary destruction and problems for Paris. Causing problems isn't exactly the road to love and appreciation, it's a good way to have normal citizens be highly critical of you on sight. This wouldn't boost Chloe's ego, it would boost her rage and self pity.
So depending on where you'd want to go with that, you could lead her down a self-fulfilling prophecy route where everyone treats her like a nuisance so she becomes more and more of a nuisance, in this cycle of anger and blame that only ends when someone comes and takes the Cat Miraculous off of her.
Or, go the Scarlet Lady route and keep the original "partner" and pair her with Marinette as Ladybug, the Ladybug that OG Chloe was a huge fan of. She'd take her cues from Ladybug and become more in control of herself and her powers, leading her to being a respectful hero in her own right, which leads to a sense of pride in her work and her accomplishments. So like, a redemption route.
