'mewling virgin orion this' and 'experienced top megatronus' that. WRONG
Orion Pax is an experienced playboy city mech that's had the finest spike and valve from Praxus to Polyhex. He gets to sweep Megatron off his feet and deflower this previously untouched and unshakable fortress of a mech. Why? Because I SAID SO
#megop#orion is a spoiled rich kid literally being raised by a god thats on the council that controls the whole planet. he is NOT a virgin#hes probably done more party drugs than any of the autobots and Megatron has never touched an illicit substance in his life#youre telling me the pits didnt have random drug/high grade screenings for the express purpose to be cruel and punish for no reason?? bitch#megatrons never gotten into bed with anyone and intends to keep it that way. asssult was so common in kaon. hes sworn it off#then enter orion snd he promptly reloeves the terror of kaon of his virginity 😌#orion FUCKS#can you tell im sleep deptived lmfao if snyone reads sll these tags youre a real one 💖#if you read all these tags uhhh idk comment and tell me your pet's name :)

Episode 7 of AAA is very cathardic on its own, good episode of television, 10/10, only reason its below episode 4 on my list is just because Alice is my favorite and I'm still bitter about episode 5.
When you think about the rest of marvel though, it becomes very funny and ironic.
Because in the comics basically no one stays dead except for the original captain marvel, and theres a whole myriad of reasons that can happen in story. On a meta level though, it's so they can keep some sort of status quo. And in the mcu, they were a little better about dead characters staying dead, but that was kinda thrown out the window with endgame and the intro to the multiverse and timeline fuckery. Because now they can kill a character, but bring in an alternate version of them who did none of the character development, so you can take them in a completely different direction. And they've done so multiple times. Even RD jr can come back even though they tried to make iron man's death very impactful. And with them seemingly moving to focus more on mutants eventually now that disney knows it'll make them money and not fox, I would not be surprised if they tried to eventually get to the krakoa era and the weird revival pools where charles gets to be at his most overdramatic.
Look at that pose, he's such a drama queen.
But yeah, death comes for us all. But for the superheroes of marvel it's a small setback. So this very good show and this very good episode ironically get their impact lessened by the very media franchise they're a part of and would not exist without.
#text post#agatha all along#agatha all along spoilers#agatha spoilers#marvel#mcu#The last scene of the episode is so impactful. I was literally feeling sick from feeling so many emotions.#and then I remembered how ressurection becomes so common they essentially have to set up a fucking council to decide who gets revived.#Comics are fucking crazy man I dont know what to tell you

January being a former dean of Benthic is a fun factoid to me for many reasons, but in particular it is of note that Benthic was University College irl, which was founded on 'radical' ideas, and was supposedly the first in England to admit students regardless of their religion. This of course being noteworthy given January is canonically jewish
I wonder how strong Jan's link to the uni was in the past, when exactly she arrived in London... she's an older woman, so was she around during the fall?
#ive always headcanoned her as being an ashkenazi immigrant whos family had fled to england#give everything going on in the time. which was pretty common for a lot of jewish people in england at the time#so i just have! many thoughts#prophet's fl nonsense#january of the calendar council

Is it too early to say I'm very disappointed with the ending of Arcane
#like#it wasn't TERRIBLE#don't get me wrong#but everything i loved about the first season was just gone#the class conflict between zaun and piltover wasn't adressed in any meaningful way#and the resolution was to make them fight a common enemy just to put ONE SINGLE ZAUNITE in the council as if that would change anything#instead of actually holding piltover accountable for it's crimes against the undercity and giving zaun independence#and also every single character arc was butched bc they simply had no time to develop them as well as they did in the first season#so everything just felt rushed and the dramatic scenes didn't hit as hard#honestly i think it would have been better overall if they just left arcane with one season#but that's just my opinion#arcane#not art

It must have been horrifying for Aegon, Aemond, and Helaena in the years before the dance, all three of them experiencing varying levels of heightened paranoia and unrest every single day.
Viserys was sicky-looking even in ep 6, and the chance of him dying (even then) was pretty high. I can’t imagine that uncertainty breeding anything but fear and worry among everyone.
From their inception, the kids lived in this constant “flight or fight” state, not knowing if Rhaenyra would ever return to the Red Keep, not knowing if Daemon would just turn up at the gates and demand their heads, not knowing if one day Viserys would just disinherit them at the request of his ‘only child.’
Aegon getting drunk every night because the alternative would be thinking of his (very likely) visit to the executioners block; Aemond throwing himself into every lesson, every practice fight with Criston, every flight with Vhagar, because he knows that this period of peace is a farce; Helaena flinching at every touch and sound because she simply doesn’t know whether that’s a friend, or whether the beasts have finally caught up with her.
Alicent going to bed each night, knowing that in the morning, her children’s heads might decorate the walls of the Keep. That one day, she’ll go into Helaena’s rooms and find her missing; that Aegon may never return from his visits to the city; that Aemond may just take the fight to Dragonstone just to end the painful wait that Rhaenyra has (unknowingly, which makes it worse) subjected them all to.
That if her father messes up again, Viserys will send him away (again), that she’ll be alone (again) in a castle that doesn’t want her (again), without allies or friends (again).
Can you imagine living in that state for a week, let alone two decades?
#when TG’s (legitimate) fear of death is brought up#the most common response is ‘oh but Rhaenyra wouldn’t do that’#…are we sure?#are we…totally sure?#alright so what has she done to prevent that fear?#name me one thing she has done to assure her half-siblings that she won’t kill them#…yeah that’s what I thought#she was on Dragonstone for like a decade#had no communication with her father or Alicent or the Small Council#let alone Aegon or Helaena or Aemond#the last time something happened and their half-sister was in the room. Aemond was called to be tortured by her.#so yeah I think the fear was founded on solid grounds.#and Daemon? Every single person is afraid of Daemon and no that is not a flex that is a fear-mongering tactic.#If Rhaenyra won’t have the guts to kill them. Daemon sure as hell will.#but yeah no wonder they looked so drained at the dinner#they just wanted the fuckery to end#hotd#house of the dragon#hotd meta#team green#alicent hightower#aegon ii targaryen#helaena targaryen#aemond targaryen#text#my own

lowkey the writers insisting on intertwining alicent and rhaenyra + hotd 'being a story abt them' is probably like,,, the source of over half their problems
#aging alicent down was a mistake and it shows#no it doesn't make sense for alicent to suddenly abandon her children to go see rhaenyra#it doesn't make sense for rhaenyra to go see alicent in king's landing or seemingly want peace bc alicent is on the other side#'but they were friends as kids' and friends grow apart. which rhaenyra and alicent clearly did. so what now#alicent has given rhaenyra zero reasons to care for her or her wellbeing. from never shutting the fuck up abt her children possibly being#bastards to purposefully sowing discord between their children to pretending peace is possible after usurping her throne and killing her so#like that one council member who was like 'ofc she hasn't answered your letters. her son is dead' had the most common sense#and whatever you feel abt the incident where aemond's eye was cut out. you can't deny the biggest contribution to it happening was#bc alicent told her children that rhaenyra would have them killed when she got to the throne. and hamered this point in by hitting aegon#and frankly i don't really think alicent cared abt rhaenyra during the timeskip either. why would she suddenly care what rhaenyra thought o#her. if she's such a threat to her kids why would she want her around or want peace with her#if alicent truly wanted peace jace and helaena marrying was enough but she chose to not let it happen so why would she care abt peace NOW#the show's reducing them to passive victims of men with zero agency when their book selves would be taking charge#rhaenyra would cut off her council's tongues for the way they've spoken to her in the past few eps#the writing is making them both look like idiots and the show is suffering severely bc of it#and being like 'well they're gay and stupid' 'they're in love and that's why they make stupid choices' yall only say that to cope#a stupid writing choice is a stupid writing choice no matter how you try to frame it#hotd#house of the dragon#anti hotd

Onwald mæg wel reccean se þe ægðer ge hiene habban con ge wiðwinnan.*
- Old English
He wields power well who can both hold and resist it.*
Penny Mordaunt, Leader of the House of Commons and Lord President of the Privy Council, took on a leading role during the coronation service at Westminster Abbey of King Charles III. Many commentators agreed she stood out for doing such a sterling job in standing to attention and holding up a sword weighing around 3kg for a good part of the proceedings. She didn’t waver once.
It’s all the more surprising that the upward political trajectory of the MP from Plymouth had flatlined after she had a promising junior ministerial career before losing out twice in the Tory leadership elections to Liz Truss and later Rishi Sunak.
It was the ill-fated Truss in her brief stint as Prime Minister who had given the 50 year old Mordaunt the wooden spoon of political offices, Leader of the House of Commons, often seen as half-way house for a minister on his way down the greasy pole of ministerial politics. Sunak kept her in the same position after annoying Sunak loyalists for staying in the leadership race to the bitter end. In that position she has thrived somewhat for her debating skills and being good on her feet as well being loyal to the Prime Minister.
Little did anyone think - least of Mordaunt - that as Leader of the Commons she would also breathe life into the nondescript title of Lord President of the Privy Council. But in one of the more arcane details of that title is the right to hold the Sword of State in any royal coronation.
As Lord President of the Privy Council she was expected the wear the august robes of that office but chose instead for a more modest presentation of a blue dress with mute gold olive leaf trimmings. As Lord President of the Privy Council, Mordaunt exchanged the larger Sword of State, a steel blade with a silver-gilt hilt that symbolises royal authority, for the jewelled Sword of Offering, which the Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby then placed in the King's right hand. Mordaunt later redeemed the sword by offering 100 newly minted 50 pence coins and carried the sword before the King for the rest of the service.
Symbolising the protection of good and the punishment of evil, the jewelled sword was used as a Sword of Offering at the coronation ceremony of George IV in 1821. It wouldn't appear again at a coronation ceremony until 1902 for Edward VII and it has been featured at all subsequent coronations since. The sword features partly blued and gilt steel decorated on both faces with national emblems, including roses, thistles and shamrocks, while the hilt and scabbard are decorated with numerous jewels such as diamonds, rubies, sapphires and emeralds.
There is no question that Penny Mordaunt cemented herself in the public consciousness, with even Labour counterparts commenting that she looked 'damn fine' and 'stole the show'. Admiration for her sword-bearing skills at the coronation might just reignite her political fortunes especially if Sunak and his government are widely expected to lose the upcoming general election. She may be third time lucky at getting the chance to be the leader of the Tory party. In any case many would agree in watching her steadfast performance at the coronation, it really might be the case that the ‘Penny is mightier than the sword’.

I can't tell you how strongly I feel about this
#why the FUCK doesn't dnd have a better umbrella word for sentient peoples than 'humanoid' it sucks so bad#this didn't fit in a single tweet but the context of that specific example was that the kidnapping/ murder victims were slaves#so we were defending our having attacked and killed their abductor over what legally amounts to property damage#juniper: they were people...! / lawful neutral council guy: well. technically and legally they are not#juniper: [SPUTTERING OVER WANTING TO SAY 'THEY WERE HUMAN BEINGS' BECAUSE THE ONLY ALTERNATIVE IS TO JUST SAY 'PEOPLE' AGAIN]#that's unusually specific but describing someone as 'human' to emphasize their... you know... humanity...#using the word 'humanity'; common phrases like 'human error'; etc etc ETC it SUCKS#I play a gnome but she still fucking counts! you KNOW 'humanoid' is not the same fucking thing linguistically#AAAAUUUGHH#about me#posts from twitter

Recent game related things .. hrmm...
#I do like the inconsistency of the first map. that is actually something older but that I re-found and added to my Game Reference stuff#so that when characters reference where they're from I can be accurate. I like that the whole map is kind of shifted up that way. Where the#actual south part doesnt even count as the south since its Too Far and Scary lol. and if you say you're from 'the north' thats basically#like.. one single continent. Though some people do make distinctions like 'north midlands' or etc. still. I like the ways that common#language isn't always precisely accurate like that. and thinking about why a culture would classify things a certain way or etc. etc.#The inventory page is so funny to me because it's literally just the BASe like.. sample layout just to make sure it works properly with 0#actual design into it. just colored rectangles thrown together in MS paint. but what if I like... left it like that.. what if all the other#art in the game and UI is like stylized and fully matching BUT the inventory/journal/etc. screens I just left as plain colored blocks#with random misalignments and black spots and etc gjhbhjj... It looks unfinished in a Funny Contrast way to me.#the wordcounts are just like... my past few days of writing.. I am still not getting 2200 words a day done or whatever I needed. I'm lucky#if it's even half of that .... tee hee.. :3c I do also keep having appointments and other things going on but..grrr...#The full map of the area is probably not necessary but I thought it would be more realisitc if people were able to reference things. Like i#you have people all living in a city area probably at some point someone might mention a neighboring city or some landmark nearby#or etc. so I thought having at least the basic names of what's around for reference would be sensible. A side character mentioning#'oh yeah I don't live here full time I just travel from Marisene sometimes' or whatever makes it seem more like a Real#Fleshed Out Place than people just making vague references like 'the river' or 'i come from a city nearby' or 'i went to a place somewhere#around here' or 'the other city' or etc. lol.. Especially since global cities/global areas are weird as they operate almost like an#independent country within their walls. so it's like a micro country inside of another country usually. just plopped down in some agreed#upon plot of land that won't be too disruptive to the main country around it. That could get very complex depending on the cultural and#political backdrop of where they're placed (though obviously they try to choose the 'easiest' areas possible for it). Asen is a very mild#country without much history of conflict or anything so it's fine. But still interesting that Sifeh and the entire branched out global area#border three other districts of Asen. Which means like 3 times the local representitives you'l have to negotiate with for some major change#or anything. I think one of the 'random characters you can find around the world and have short discussions with just to make the area#feel more populated and real even though theyre not actual important npcs' is going to be a guy who actually serves on the council that#handles running the global areas and he's like.. some perpetually exhausted middle aged elf running around with a clipboard or whatever#ANYWAY...... hrgh... still trying to write when I can....#I WISH so badly that I had the scope for a simple character creation menu and all character interactions would allot for the background#of your player character. And also to have a simple day night cycle where places in the world you explore/people you talk to during the day#have new options or dialogue at night.. BUT alas... I already am so behind on everything as is lol.. aughhh... T o T#As the worlds number one Needless Detail And Complexity Enjoyer i must dilligently prevent myself from adding additional complexity

this interaction and friendship is exactly how i made friends on the playground at the park as a kid
#like you know?#just go up to someone and start talking#and its like a yes and#like u just bounce off of each other even tho you met five seconds ago#and then ephemer went and broke a promise to see you the next day#and instead of being sad about it and then moving on and never seeing your playground bestie that you only knew for three hours again#ephemer did the opposire and sent a dream message to you or something and cemented himself permanently into your brain rent free#i think he sent a dream#honest to god can not remmeber#guess ill find out in a bit#anyways#the relationship between player and ephemer started as playground besties and evolved into whatever the hell they had going on after#skuld is like someone you meet at school after summer break and you mention this kid you met on the playground except he ditched you and you#think about him sometimes#and skulds like no fucking way i ALSO know that kid#and youre like no way#you have a common denominator you are no besties bc thats how middle school friendships worked#and then in highschool you guys go to the same school again and then ephemer is like i dont fucking know#the student council president? no one ever knows who the student council president is but their presence is felt everywhere#and you see someone who kind of looks like ephemer walking around and youre like not entirely sure its him bc its been years maybe#and then something suitably dramatic and high school drama esqu hapoens and upure like EPHEMER?#and ephemer is like omg hi how are you ive seen you around i heard youre taking this class hows it going i know your grades are good bc i ch#check them all the time :)#is this anything#my metaphor ran away from me#it makes sense in my head dont worry <3#michi tag

Private companies are stealing public parks
“For years now, entertainment mega-corporations have targeted cash-strapped councils as amenable, affordable hosts for their events. From Clapham Common to Glasgow Green, city-dwellers across the UK have become accustomed to basslines vibrating their windows, five-metre fences encircling their playgrounds, and security guards policing what are effectively their gardens.
“Yet as entertainment companies try to recuperate massive pandemic losses with aggressive multi-year deals, while the climate crisis renders urban summers increasingly unbearable, the privatisation of public parkland is becoming harder to swallow.
“In April, dozens of Haringey residents descended on FoFP’s biggest-ever meeting to vent their frustrations, while a recent petition demanding private companies keep their hands off Finsbury Park was signed by thousands ... For the most part, the work of groups like FoFP and FCC is polite engagement with the council to ensure the park is properly maintained. Yet as councils’ approach to major events has become more aggressive, so have the friends groups’.
“In 2016, FoFP took Haringey to court over its outdoor events policy. The group lost the case – though it did win an agreement from Haringey that the money made from the park would be spent on it. Haringey claims to have done this, though to FoFP, the numbers don’t quite add up: while in information obtained by Novara Media via an FoI request, the council claims it spent £871,626 on staffing Finsbury Park in 2020-21, many have questioned where the money is going: the park has had no park ranger since late October, no on-site manager since May. ‘If you’ve got this money […] you sure as hell didn’t spend it here,’ says Simon, pointing to the chipped paint of the bench on which she’s sitting.”
