welcome to my study blog 🩶
navigation ⋆ ˚。⋆౨ৎ˚
first, i’ll be following/interacting through @tishsmiles since this is a side blog🤍 my active blog is @northnodal :)
posts by me
my study playlist
my studying-ish playlist
about me:
i’m a 21 year old BSN student. it’s a major goal of mine to achieve mastery in a subject in this lifetime. i chose nursing to reach this goal with long, careful consideration! nursing not only allows me to learn the science of the body through and through, but also gives me knowledge i can put into practice—what’s theory without application?
studying is my flow state. it hits all 5 bases of flow—curiosity, passion, serving others, motivation to achieve mastery, and autonomy to pursue this path. it’s cozy to study and satisfying to become more knowledgeable in such an important field.
i like to see it like a tool for self mastery, kind of like how shaolin monks would use martial arts as a tool for self mastery. it takes discipline AND the foundation of a holistically healthy, balanced lifestyle.
excited to join this journey!

Introduction post
Hello there, welcome to my blog! ツ
Basics:
- My name is Ina (ee-n-uh)
- I'm 20 years old
- Starting my junior year of college in October, majoring in special education and rehabilitation of deaf and hard of hearing people
- English is not my native language, so if posts regarding my studies are confusing, it's because educational systems (curriculums, how is a certain profession organised and its theory used in practise...) are vastly different between countries, especially when talking about special education.
What is this blog?
So, for now it's a commonplace book or a digital journal made of all the things that I think would be helpful in achieving my goals. Whether it's study tips, book recommendations, music playlists, motivational mood boards, quotes, pretty pictures it can all be found here, as well as my thoughts and updates on personal challenges (study, productivity, maintaining healthy habits etc).
Honestly, not sure yet. I wanted to make a studyblr, because my first priority now and in the next few years will be getting my bachelor and masters degree, as well as finding a job in my filed. Of course none of that is possible if I don't put effort and care into other aspects of my life, so I thought why not make it a some kind of a self-care blog, but realised that I don't know what would I even post and how I would do it.
Why am I starting this blog?
Currently my life is a mess, all the bits and pieces of it are scattered around and I am trying to pick what I have, connect it into some barely functioning thing and continue on to grow from there.
I want to work on making my life more better and enjoyable, on accepting and loving myself, on growing and improving every single day.
Also I've always admired all the study blogs out there. Everyone seems so genuinely kind and willing to give out tips and hacks about anything. I have always wanted to be a part of such community, thinking that this will help me stay disciplined and consistent with my work.
Things I wanna work on (I'll probably make separate post for this):
- self-discipline
- incorporating healthier habits into my everyday life (there will also be separate post for this)
- increasing productivity not just regarding my studies
- reading more books (for enjoyment)
- getting out of the comfort zone, being more spontaneous, making memories (with friends and alone), doing things just for the hell fun of it
- learning more skills/languages (for now I want to become fluent in my third language - French, as for skills I would love to enroll in a self-defence or dance class or both)
- getting work experience, I would love to and have to volunteer with organisations from my field in order to have something on my work resume besides a degree and get familiar with my line of future profession
- enjoying my youth, the moments I'm living in right now, being more thankful for everything that i have
...
Interests:
Besides my studies and future line of work
- reading (romance novels, poetry and classics)
- the biggest Hunger games and Suzane Collins fan, everlark stan for life
- listening to music (currently favourite Hozier, the Killers, James Arthur, Lord Huron, Kacey Musgraves, my native pop and folk music) while imagining fake scenarios
- watching TV shows (b99, himym, the good place, the new girl, friends, bridgerton and currently favourite my lady jane)
- now realising that I really need to get into more things besides media consumption
Study, life and aesthetic blogs that I admire and that inspire me:

I'm still not sure about the main structure of this blog I guess in the near future I'll be posting daily updates as a part of some challenge (100 days of productivity or 30 days of discipline). I'll see so just bare with me 😅

Hey, do you have any tips to regularly motivate yourself to study?
I often get overwhelmed by the homework and forget about the textbook readings and preparation.
Hi anon,
sorry for taking so long to answer and thanks for the question.
1) get a study buddy. find a person with similar academic goals to you even if you don't study the same thing and set a time and a place regularly, were you just go to actually study and hold eachother accountable. my friend and I meet every saturday and go to the library or a study cafe for five hours. we are different majors so we can't really help one another but it's about accountability.
2) habits, routines >> motivation. I am the biggest procrastinator and motivation doesn't work for me. I have created systems that force me to study. Like the study friend or going to a study group meeting, going to the library after class without going home in between cause if I go home I now I'm just going to watch tv and not study at all. you can also try virtual study groups if it's more accessible to you although I've never tried with strangers before.
3) plan everything. plan ahead from the moment you get the syllable as far as you can. organize time for smaller tasks every day or every other day if you can. make the schedule as realistic and as flexible as you can.
4) a little bit every day. textbook readings don't usually get done cause a.our asses are on fire from hw b. they don't have a deadline c. are huge . So break it down in smaller chunks. let's say you have to get through 800 pages. from the stem prospective I try to skim through 10 to 20 pages each time and get the general gist.
5) 5% is better than 0. even if you do nothing but read one page or solve one practice problem a day it's still something.
6) find old exams. if most of your classes have exams in the end and not projects lime mine, try to find as many older exam questions as possible. if the professor is the same they usually have a similar style of exams each year. this way you know what kind of exam you are studying for and can focus on the material that actually matters so you don't get overwhelmed as much.
7) make friends with upperclassmen. they've been already through this and usually have pretty good advice and tricks. I like to bribe them with coffee or food and they'll even give you the work they've done for the class before, this way you get a better understanding of what you have to do for the class. they are also a good motivation or reminder cause they are the proof that you can pass this class.
8) it's going to be ok. school and uni suck sometimes but you can get through it. if it gets too overwhelming academically see if you have the option for a tutor or sth similar and don't be too proud to ask for help, we've all been there.
Hope this helps!!! If anyone has more questions my dms and asks are open!!!

Happy holidays, and remember that while holiday breaks such as this are a great opportunity to get in extra study time, please give time to your own care and to your friends and family as well this time of year. Treat yourself to a warm drink while reviewing, have some sweet treats as rewards every half hour while taking fresh notes, keep knowledge on your studies at the forefront of your brain by infodumping to someone you love. School is important, but so are the breaks and soft moments in between.

Evening Study Session
started doing some studying for my statistics (psych) exam 3 at around 7 pm. Quizlet is my absolute best friend! the only downside is that they now have an upgrade feature, so you have to pay to use different, effective study techniques.
there's an app on my phone that checks my digital well-being and allows for me to cut out all other distractions so that I may focus better when I'm studying. I studied for about 59 minutes (7:34 PM - 8:33 PM)!!! I feel like this session was very productive. I learned a lot of the information quickly.
Today I'm wearing my "X - Men" sweater and a pair of sweat pants. Fun-Fact, I use the name "Kitty" from the X - Men mutant Kitty Pryde. She's my absolute favorite mutant/ character to ever exist. <3
anyway, now that I've done some productive studying, I'm off to get ready to wind down and play video games. GN ALL!

Happy New Year!✨
After a so what long kinda break I'm very anxiety-filled and back on track! January is a very important month for my career so I really want to give it my best shot despite my mental health. The things I want to achieve are: to further write my dissertation but only on a first draft by the first half of the month; to take my last exam, which is condensed matter physics and really scary because it's super tough but I'll try nonetheless. If I succeed chances are I'll graduate in February so I'll bring you all with me on this journey to finishing my degree.

GLOW UP GUIDE FOR 2025⠀
READ: On average, it takes more than 2 months before a new behavior becomes automatic — 66 days to be exact. And considering that 2025 is precisely these many days away, why not start with our glow up plan already?
Physical Glow Up-
BODY
— 5-10K steps a day.
— 7-8 hours of sleep.
— workout everyday for 1 hr atleast- yoga/stretching/pilates/cardio. a workout may take one hour, but your mood will be boosted for the next 12 hours.
— posture training.
— sunlight exposure after waking up for at least 10 minutes.
NUTRITION
— 2-3 liters of water every day.
— limit your caffeine intake.
— avoid sugars as much as you can.
— high protein diet, pre and probiotics.
— more fruits and veggies (+ green smoothies if you like).
— no junk/processed food/trans fat.
— no eating after 8 pm.
SKINCARE
— be clear on your skin type (oily, dry, combination, sensitive).
— once you're clear, use these accordingly- cleanser, toner, targeted serum, eye cream, moisturizer, sunscreen (≥50 spf).
— keep your bedding clean as well.
— no picking of skin on your lips, cuticle etc.
— gua sha to help improve blood circulation and lessen toxins.
— cold therapy may take three to five minutes of being uncomfortable, but your energy levels will be boosted for the rest of the day.
— remove makeup before you go to bed.
BODY CARE
— shower every day.
— exfoliate 2x a week.
— use body lotion (shea butter/aloe vera gel/coconut oil).
HAIR CARE
— wash hair 2-3x a week
— oil your scalp 2x a week, at least 3 hours before shampoo.
— hair mask 1x per week.
— never brush wet hair.
— use silk pillow case.
HYGIENE
— brush your teeth 2x a day, clean tongue and the roof of the mouth daily.
— floss daily.
— cut your nails 1x a week, never remove the cuticles.
— glycolic acid under arm for odor and discoloration.
— never use soap on your coochie.
Mental Glow Up-
MINDSET
— set clear goals- define and breakdown your aspirations.
— start your mornings with positive affirmations.
— surround yourself with uplifting content and people.
— be shamelessly selfish to your career and mental health, remove anyone or anything that doesn't align with your priorities and wellbeing.
— boost your brain health by these 4 neuroscience tools:
difficult first: start your day with the most difficult task (cortisol and dopamine are high in the body meaning that your body/mind is primed to work).
rest your eyes: introduce a micro-pause after learning by resting/closing your eyes - will help retain information better.
tomorrow's worries: write tomorrow's to-do list before bed as it is proven to be effective in helping you fall asleep.
find time to play: engage in low-stake play. can be anything you find fun but where the outcome doesn't matter (induces neuroplasticity + reduces stress).
MIND
— meditation might take as low as ten minutes, but your focus will be improved for the rest of the day.
— no social media after waking up and at least an hour before bed.
— keep aside 1 hr of time to read daily! reading a new book may take five hours, but you will keep the knowledge forever.
— journaling, gratitude.
— digital detox once a week or for 12 hours.
— limit unnecessary screentime, unfollow or cut off people you don't want to see.
JOURNALING
— choose a regular time each day to journal, making it a part of your routine.
— find a quiet, comfortable place free from distractions. light a candle if you want.
— allow your thoughts to flow without censoring or editing.
— write about your feelings and emotions to understand them better. write about things you are thankful for to boost your mood. write about your short-term and long-term goals. identify what triggers certain emotions or reactions
— set a timer for 5-10 minutes and write continuously during that time.
— reflect on both positive experiences and challenges.
— make lists, journal your thoughts on these questions.
— journal at night to clear your mind before bedtime, because emotions and thoughts lose their power once we acknowledge them.
— a gratitude practice may take five minutes, but your mindset will be shifted for the rest of the day.
AFFIRMATIONS
— customise affirmations to your needs.
Personal Life-
WEEKLY TASKS
— initiate small changes: begin with small, manageable tasks such as making your bed or cleaning your room every sunday.
— celebrate your success: reward yourself when you achieve your goals or have a consistently productive week. consider treats like buying flowers for yourself or watching your favorite show.
DAILY WORK
— set achievable goals: establish realistic goals for the day, week, or month ahead.
— track your progress.
— organise your work space, declutter your shelves etc.
— embrace the power of lists: keep a list of tasks to be done and their deadlines. this way, you start each day with a clear plan. to make it visually appealing and motivating, consider using productivity apps like evernote, habit tracker, or notion.
PRODUCTIVITY TIPS
— wake up early.
— plan ahead everything, do scheduling. you can use:
google calendar / notion / tasks .
— if the task takes less than 2 minutes to finish, do it immediately.
— countdown rule, if you are procrastinating, count 1-2-3-4-5 and jump.
— start slow, don't rush and try to do everything at one time.
— follow a proper routine, use app locks based on screentime.
— pomodoro technique, 25 min work, and 5 min break.
— schedule longer break times as well e.g 30 min nap.
