ruler of 1st through the houses: how you may like to dress and present yourself 💋
ahh this is another impulsive post, since I planned on posting things in the first week of November. However, I hope you take this post as both, an observation and a sweet suggestion to your style! PS: I have added moodboards according to how imagine it to be, that part is not an observation or statement, however, feel free to tell me your thoughts or use it as a style inspo!
How to find the ruler: Let's say your 1st house is in Leo, who rules leo? Sun. Now find where is your Sun. Maybe 11th? Then your ruler of 1st is in 11th. Hope this helps, I often get a lot of questions on this one haha
Paid readings open!
Ruler of 1st in 1st Ah, people with this placement attract a lot of attention to themselves, especially because of the way they dress, talk, act and all of that. There is a strong, powerful aura, undeniable. If I am not wrong, Monica Bellgucci has this placement. Bold red lips, making strong fashion statements, however that may be. Also the way they dress is actually to either extremes, either its very vinatagey, classic and eloquent, or something extremely bold and colorful, regardless, the aura and energy and presence is felt and you would steal a glance, they attract attention super quick.
Ruler of 1st in 2nd CONFIDENCE. I have found that these people do not "specifically" have an aesthetic they follow, but regardless, whatever they wear, literally anything, they carry it with confidence. A confident aura, and how you feel, your feelings, they decide how you command the room. If you feel like "that girl", it would show and reflect, and if anything seems to be holding you back, that is very recognizable as well. You may have some very specific rules on how you want to dress and present, and they might not change very frequently. Signature styles is what I mean!
Ruler of 1st in 3rd Very approachable kind of vibe. Someone who does not intimidate people, but rather, super comfortable, a friendly nature and aura. Like you may not know this person super well, yet they may be able to hold a small chat with you very easily. Very welcoming kind of aura and vibe, they can easily make you feel at ease, that you are one of them, in a very sweet way. Usually extroverted, and most probably friends with nearly everyone, or atleast have held a conversation with everyone.
Ruler of 1st in 4th Ah, these people are usually very chill and can make you feel home BUT only if you are able to get past their tough front they put. Since the ruler moves to an angular house, regardless of how they present themselves, they do catch attention to themselves. They may usually seem withdrawn, and may like to "observe" people. Ah, and in terms of dressing, they only wear what actually makes them feel comfortable, and now that can be anything in all honesty, it can super chic, or casual or whatever.
Ruler of 1st in 5th These people may actually believe in "dress to impress", and I mean it as a compliment. Very attractive, and very attention catching appeal, in both the way they dress and act and talk. They usually do not go for super serious styles, or something that would look aloof, because they have a warm energy and they are the types where Taylor swift writes "everybody wants you", and this is because they have that vibe haha. Whatever they wear, they carry themselves with grace and even if they are not feeling the best, they would still appear confident.
Ruler of 1st in 6th I see people with these placements may often have people copy them, or may have that "household" name kind of a thing. It may look like they are in a competition without even doing anything, usually a serious demeanor. They may have this vibe of "better than others" without doing anything. The way they dress is usually comfortable, but serious, intimidating or I may say, it looks like mhm they have put efforts in their outfits. May have the "clean girl" aesthetic.
Ruler of 1st in 7th These people 8/10 times have that fairy, cottage core kind of style, and presence. Looking graceful, if I put it right. An approachable appearance and demeanor, unless the rising sign or 1st house has serious kind of planets or I may rather phrase it well and say malefic. Usually have a charm, good social persona and appearance, and people may want to befriend them, know them and may like their energy, which is sweet and empowering if that's a right word? Ah, Lizzo's song "If I am shining everybody gonna shine, I was born like this don't even gotta try" . Dress well even if they are going to a local shop.
Ruler of 1st in 8th Intimidating aura. Even if other placements in chart are jovial, they would be people who scare you a little, in a good way lmao. Silent confidence, there is no need for them to do anything special as such, yet they would be someone who would make you feel things strongly, seriously, and this "silent charisma" may actually come from the fact that they shed so much skin, go through such transformative periods in their life quite frequently. Hard to understand and may seem aloof. And even if they are being honest, you may always have this lingering feeling of "I think they are hiding something behind that smile" and usually it is quite like that tbh, even if they may be jovial, they may still have this motto like "laugh with all, cry with some"
Ruler of 1st in 9th Sharp, witty replies. Usually a very "funky" "cool" kind of aura and appearance. It may feel like it is hard to keep up with their energy and aura. As in they make you feel like "what should I actually say" because it is hard to match their energy....which usually fluctuates a lot honestly. They can be very unserious, and super serious two seconds later. Saying mindful, things of wisdom casually while trying to joke. Can pull off ANYTHING they wear, because their energy is super variable. In fact very versatile style.
Ruler of 1st in 10th A very serious appearance, intimidating. "Don't waste my time" vibes, so they may get people to have some real work from them, in order to hold a conversation, even if they do not do anything explicitly to state that lmao. Hardworking, may seem like while you drink water, they would do 10 more things in that span of time, and for this reason people can feel competitive and guarded in their presence, they may unconsciously feel like "proving themselves" to this person. Usually dress serious, old money, and do not wear anything that they do not feel confident in. Dressing to seem powerful kind of vibes.
Ruler of 1st in 11th Apart from the ruler in 9th, this is another og placement that is super versatile and can usually pull off anything they wear. Catch attention super quick and can have people as "fans" haha. Usually have a major "one of us" vibe, and someone who you feel can connect to. Celebs with this placement are usually humanitarians or seen as "relatable". People may feel good near you, understood, but no matter what, there still can be a feeling of some kind of gap, which is hard to understand. People who have wonderful intellect and a lot to learn from!
Ruler of 1st in 12th These kinds of people usually like to stay aloof and confide in some specific things and people for they may have a notion of "nobody can get me". Very secretive kind of aura and energy, it may be hard to decode and pin this person down. They may alienate themselves, or maybe aloof because people do not quite know how to connect to them, communicate with them in the first few meetings. But if you are lucky and they are friends with you, unsaid things would get understood. May have hard time handling attention, even if it is their job. Usually like to dress in non revealing dresses, or maybe in dresses that usually do not quite show who they are. Dressing to appear different, serious, mysterious, maybe in a way that elevates their position. Regardless, there may be many people who may notice them, but letting them know would be too much work lmao.

Vietnamese Astro Notes
— by novy
Keep in mind that your numerology plays a big role in all this as well. For example: If you’re a 7 life path or born on a 7 day but your animal sign is the Tiger you may still be a party animal and not a huge loner like some other 7’s can be
• Vietnamese astrology does not go by years exactly. The new sign starts sometime in between January or February every year. You must search your exact birth date and year along with “vietnamese zodiac” for this reason in order to find what your animal sign is
• The Goat, Pig, and Cat trine are the wealthiest trine, especially when working together. The Goat is the richest though. Rat’s can also be wealthy sometimes though
• Tigers, Goats, and Dragons are the most attractive signs to society (physically)
• Goat’s are one of the most sexual signs besides Pigs
• The best romantic match out of all the signs are the Goat and the Pig
• Similar to numerology the energy of the year we’re all in effects us. Example: During Goat years people may be more emotional
• Tiger’s are very unpredictable similar to how Aquarius energy is
• Your enemy sign is important to stay away from but also your enemy signs whole trine in general
• The matrix favors the Rats - m(atr)ix. The rat’s enemy sign is the Horse so for this reason Horse’s tend to have the most challenging lives. Goat’s also tend to have hard lives though
• Monkey’s are often very confident but at worst can be self absorbed
• Snake’s are considered the wisest sign but for this reason can be very good liars and deceive lots of people often
• Cat’s are genius’ but will play mind games with you a lot
• Dog’s are the most loyal sign but Ox’s and Rooster’s tend to be loyal as well
• Tiger’s are the biggest cheaters but Pig’s come in at second place and Goat’s at third
• Dragon’s are the best fighters (physically)
• Goat’s tend to worry too much about things that genuinely don’t matter
• The Cat should avoid the Rat. They aren’t enemy signs but they will never get along

Twenty-eight Constellations From The Temple Of Supreme Talisman
Pottery figurines of the Twenty-Eight Constellations from the Ziwei Pavilion (紫薇閣) in Supreme Talisman (Taifu) Temple (太觀) are quietly chatting.
The Taoist temple itself, located in Fenyang (汾陽), Shanxi, was built in the fifth year of the Jin dynasty (1200). The Jade Emperor is enshrined in the main hall. The other halls on the both sides are dedicated to the Holy Mother of Houtu (后土聖母), aka Xiwangmu, The Queen Mother of the West, and to the Five Sacred Mountains (五嶽).
The figurines, just like some of the buildings, date back to the Ming dynasty. Each is about half a meter high. Of the original number, eight have been lost over the centuries. The rest were moved to the Shanxi Museum (山西博物院).

Wuxing and Its Influence Over Sailor Moon
NOTE: if I get anything about wuxing wrong, please correct me! I did research for this post but I'm sure I greatly simplified things.
I don't recall seeing a post about this on Tumblr, so I figured I'd be the change I want to see!
Anyway, something I don't see discussed often in the Sailor Moon fandom is the fact that much of the Inner Senshi's powers and personalities are based on wuxing, or the Chinese system of Five Phases. Well, okay, technically wuxing influenced the Japanese naming system of the 5 planets known since antiquity (Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn), as wuxing was originally used to refer those planets in ancient Chinese scholarship before it took on a broader meaning. But I still think Naoko Takeuchi was influenced by wuxing and not just the Japanese names of the planets themselves!
Anyway, you can kind of think of wuxing as similar to the Western idea of the classical elements, but it's far broader in scope. In traditional Chinese fields, it's used to explain a wide range of phenomenon, such as cosmic cycles and the succession of political regimes.
However, this post will only be exploring how wuxing is used to classify the planets and how that influenced Naoko Takeuchi when she created Sailor Moon. The elements and their planetary matches are:
Water: Mercury
Metal: Venus
Fire: Mars
Wood: Jupiter
Earth: Saturn
There are also certain mental/emotional qualities assigned to these elements:
Water: Wisdom, wit, intelligence, flexibility, resourcefulness, softness, anxiety
Metal: Determination, strength, ambition, self-reliance, strength of mind, rigid, leadership
Fire: Passion, intensity, resolve, spontaneity, dynamism, restlessness, hate
Wood: Warmth, generosity, idealism, cooperation, courage, kindness, anger
Earth: Patience, thoughtfulness, nurturing, honesty, stability, agreeableness
So yeah, I think there are some clear parallels here.
Sailor Mercury: Ami Mizuno means "Asian Beauty of Water" and Sailor Mercury has powers over water in all its states of matter (fog, water, and ice). I've sometimes seen people be confused over why Sailor Mercury has water powers when the planet Mercury is so hot and devoid of any semblance of water; well, it's because of wuxing! Anyway, Ami herself is also known for her intelligence and wisdom as well as for her soft heart.
Sailor Mars: Rei Hino means "Spirit of Fire" and Sailor Mars commands control over flames. Sailor Mars is known as the "Senshi of Flames and Passion," and lives up to that name by being one of the most passionate and intense Senshi in the series.
Sailor Jupiter: Makoto Kino means "Sincerity of Wood" and while Sailor Jupiter is commonly associated with electricity, her powers really encompass nature as a whole. In the manga/reboot anime, she has a number of attacks that involve plants. Mako is loved by her friends for being incredibly warm and generous, and Sailor Jupiter is known as the "Senshi of Courage."
Sailor Venus: Minako Aino's name ("Beautiful Child of Love") and her powers overall take much more inspiration from the Roman goddess of love and beauty, Venus, than from wuxing. However, she does still incorporate metal into her attacks, especially in the manga and reboot anime. In the manga/reboot this is done via her trusty chain, which is utilized for most of her attacks. Regarding personality, Minako is very self-reliant, ambitious, and determined, and of course is the leader of the Inner Senshi.
Sailor Saturn: There's not much to say here, because I don't think Naoko Takeuchi was inspired much by wuxing for Hotaru. However, "Earth" is reflected in Hotaru Tomoe's name- "Firefly Sprouting From Earth"- likely because the planet Saturn follows the wuxing naming convention in Japanese (it's called “Dosei," or "Earth Star"). That being said, Hotaru is very patient, thoughtful, and honest (I would not list "stability" as one of her qualities though, considering the whole "possessed by an evil alien and then reborn as a rapidly aging baby" thing lmao).
Anyway, that's it from me! I hope someone out there learned something new!

Hi! I read your posts about Su Daji, and I believe one of them were about her being the literal incarnate of the Moon Fox of the 28 mansions.
I was wondering if there's any lore surrounding the 28 mansions, and if there are any incarnates of them other than her
I more specifically wanted to know about the Moonbird of Net, but I wouldn't mind learning about the others!
Well, tiny correction: Su Daji is not the incarnate of the Heart Moon Fox, but Wu Zetian, China's one and only female emperor, is said Lunar Mansion incarnate in Flowers in the Mirror, a Qing dynasty novel.
In another Qing dynasty novel, Shuoyue Quanzhuan (说岳全传), the notoriously corrupt historical figure, Qin Hui's wife, was the Maiden Earth Bat (女土蝠) incarnate: having been killed by the Golden-winged Peng for farting during Buddha's lecture, she would take revenge on his reincarnation, the heroic general Yue Fei.
About the 28 Lunar Mansions themselves: originally, they are kinda like the Chinese equivalent of the 12 zodiac in western astronomy.
Like, think of the sky as a belt, divided into 4 quadrants, each quadrant containing a giant constellation that represents the Divine Beasts of the Four Directions: Azure Dragon(E), White Tiger(W), Vermillion Bird(S), Black Turtle(N).
Each of these giant constellations can then be broken down into 7 smaller stars/star clusters, corresponding to a section of the sky. They are used to mark the position of the moon during a given month, as well as determine the seasons via the sun's location in a given mansion.
Azure Dragon: 角(Jiao)、亢(Kang)、氐(Di)、房(Fang)、心(Xin)、尾(Wei)、箕(Ji)
White Tiger: 奎(Kui)、娄(Lou)、胃(Wei)、昴(Mao)、毕(Bi)、觜(Zi)、参(Shen)
Vermillion Bird: 斗(Dou)、牛(Niu)、女(Nv)、虚(Xu)、危(Wei)、室(Shi)、壁(Bi)
Black Turtle: 井(Jing)、鬼(Gui)、柳(Liu)、星(Xing)、张(Zhang)、翼(Yi)、轸(Zhen)
However, like many things astronomy, they were later appropriated by astrology and used in divinations, by assigning an element/phase and an animal to each of these stars, making them into the "Beast Stars" (禽星) who can faciliate or obstruct each other, with different implications on your best course of action that day.
Now, look back at the list above. Each vertical column is assigned an element, in this order: Wood, Metal, Earth, Sun, Moon, Fire, Water.
So Star Lord Mao of the White Tiger Quadrant would be the "Sun Rooster Star", Star Lord Xin of the Azure Dragon Quadrant would be the "Moon Fox Star", etc.
But wait, there is more! Outside of the Beast Star divination system, traditional Chinese astrology also viewed the starry sky as the Heavenly Emperor's palace, with each constellation representing an area/building/resident of said palace.
Following that line of thought, people in the Tang dynasty came up with a catchy poetic star catalogue, 步天歌("Song of the Sky Pacers"), in which the 28 Lunar Mansions are kinda like managers who watch over their own group of stellar officials.
And the big 4 quadrants they are part of? Well, they are like four departments, each with their own general themes.
These themes aren't absolute; for example, the Azure Dragon Quadrant represents the front gate all the way up to the main palace halls, so they have a lot of stellar officials in charge of chariots, gates and honor guards, but also...grain baskets.
As for the Moonbird of Net, a.k.a. Bi Yuewu the Moon Crow Star: well, ain't this the damnest coincidence, I actually had an old OC concept based on this very Lunar Mansion!
Bi the Moon Crow
In traditional Chinese astrology, the Bi star was the god of rain, the "Master Rain"(雨师) to the "Duke Wind"(风伯) of Ji star: it was believed that whenever the moon came near this star, there would be a huge storm.
Since the Grand Compendium of the Three Religions' Deities stated that "Master Rain" was actually a one-legged divine bird called Shang Yang, who first appeared in 孔子家语 as this little creature who'd dance before every downpour like a goofy weather forecast guy, I drew his Stellar Beast form as a one-legged crow.
(OC-specific stuff below, not mythos canon)
He is very skilled at creating cloud formations, to the point where he got "borrowed" by the Wind and Thunder Bureau more than some of the Water-aligned Lunar Mansions.
After the Havoc, he has also become the new guy in charge of the Peach Garden(one of the constellations falling under Bi's section of the sky is Tianyuan, the Celestial Garden).
Anyways, traditional Chinese astrology is super fascinating, and I've only gone into a tiny fraction of it here. Hope it helps, though!

⭐what can your birth time mean for you through Chinese astrology
paid readings open
support me on ko-fi :)
let us see, what does your birth time say for you. Here we will talk about your birth time and the Taoist (Chinese) system of Astrology. It is pretty similar to how they do it for years, assigning animal to every year. Similarly, an animal is assigned to every hour. I first came across this through a blog by the writer called "Alchemist" though I cannot remember the website. If someone can remind me, I would credit them anyways, though this was around a few months ago.
if we would talk about this in western system, in my knowledge I would rather recommend looking at the sect of your chart, which you can find on my blog under the masterlist.
I found this to be somewhat accurate in descriptions, so I thought it would be worth sharing something different than what I usually post :)
★Rat Hour (11:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.)
The Rat hour is when these creatures are most active, marking both the end of one day and the beginning of another. Those born during this time are known for their resourcefulness and ambition. They have a knack for setting goals and achieving them, thanks to their natural charm and determination.
★Ox Hour (1:00 a.m. to 3:00 a.m.)
The Ox hour is when oxen are said to start chewing their cud, a time considered to be the darkest part of the night. People born during this hour are gentle and hardworking, possessing great patience and the ability to manifest their goals. While they are reliable and persistent, they can also be quite stubborn and extremely furious when angered or frustrated.
★Tiger Hour (3:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m.)
Tiger hour corresponds to the time when tigers awaken to hunt. Those born during this period are destined to achieve much in life, often facing significant challenges that help them build confidence and courage. However, they may also be seen as self-centered due to their strong attachment to their accomplishments, or perhaps it's just others being envious of their success. They are very brave and have the ability to fight any situation or person.
★Rabbit Hour (5:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m.)
The Rabbit hour is when these gentle creatures start their day, working on their nests. Individuals born during this hour are deeply empathetic and sensitive, with a rich sensual side. They are naturally gifted with powers of fertility and manifestation. These people can actually be pretty restless and very physically active, and very beautiful and attractive, at least as perceived by others. Others may also see them as innocent most of the time!
★Dragon Hour (7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.)
The Dragon hour coincides with the time when dragons, symbolizing the arrival of sunlight, emerge from the east. Those born during this time are blessed with immense power, even if they haven't fully realized it yet. They are often impatient and stubborn but are also incredibly generous and remarkable. These people often have a lot of intensity inside them, and they can actually sometimes be careless with their words, coming off as harsh, rude or critical at times. Perfectionist tendencies.
★Snake Hour (9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.)
Snake hour is when snakes leave their burrows as the ground warms. People born during this hour are endowed with earth's wisdom and have an insatiable curiosity. They are both charming and clever, with the ability to attract energies and events that help them achieve their goals. Usually very interested in psychic stuff and wise beyond years. These kind of people are usually not loud, both in speaking and actions and they just strike. No one can know what they are thinking and what they are planning to do. They are mysterious and do not easily reveal themselves.
★Horse Hour (11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.)
The Horse hour is when horses take a break to rest and eat. If you are born during this time, you are blessed with the power to free yourself and others from the burdens of illusions. You are enthusiastic, persuasive, and inspire those around you, making you a valuable team member in any endeavor. These kinds of people not only are good at teamwork, but they are super helpful and kind to others.
★Ram Hour (1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.)
The Ram hour is when rams become more active after their midday rest. Individuals born during this time are highly creative and possess the perseverance to turn their dreams into reality. They also have a talent for building supportive networks around them.
★Monkey Hour (3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.)
Monkey hour is marked by the lively and talkative nature of monkeys at this time. Those born during this period have an unpredictable destiny, often experiencing life events that significantly alter their paths. They possess a great sense of humor, are extremely intelligent, and cherish their secrets, which they view as a source of power. These people are very active physically and can be physically restless as well. Very charming personalities.
★Rooster Hour (5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.)
Rooster hour is when these birds signal the end of the day as they return to their nests. If you are born during this time, you are known for your bravery and loyalty. You have a great sense of humor and a secret love for adventure. While you can achieve your goals, there is a part of you that longs for freedom and exploration. There is also a luck with achieving financial success and beauty!
★Dog Hour (7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.)
Dog hour is when dogs are most vigilant, as if sensing potential danger. Those born during this time are known for their anxiety but are also incredibly trustworthy. They take their responsibilities very seriously and are always willing to help others. However, they can be short-tempered and pessimistic at times. These people are super kind, affectionate and loyal. Usually friendly, however, they like to carefully see and analyze what they are getting into, even apart from relationships, but are strong in commitment.
★ Pig Hour (9:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.)
The Pig hour is when these animals become very quiet, symbolizing intelligence and reflection. If you are born during this hour, you are bright and sensual, with a strong intellectual capacity. You are outgoing and tend to attract good friends, but you may also struggle with focusing on the negative and find it hard to let go of things.

so there’s a few ppl in my dms that are confused abt their vietnamese zodiac because they were born in january or early-mid february
let’s use tyla as an example. yes she was born in 2002 but she’s actually not a Horse like everyone else born that year because she was born on January 30th! this means she’s a metal snake like everyone born in 2001. if you were born in January/early-mid February ur vietnamese zodiac will be different because the new zodiac doesn’t begin in January
search chinese zodiac because vietnamese is less popular so they don’t have as many resources for it, but they’re basically the same i just prefer the buffalo over ox and cat over rabbit which is why i go by vietnamese
i recommend using this calculator it’ll show ur animal and element at the top once you type in your birth info

Dramatic Twenty-eight Constellation Figurines From The Jade Emperor Temple
Twenty-eight Constellations (二十八星宿) provided an inexhaustible source of inspiration for Chinese religious art of the Song and Yuan dynasties. Such images are characterized by amazing expressiveness. Something you can never unsee.)
These samples date back to the Yuan dynasty. The statues are on display in the Jade Emperor Temple (玉皇廟), located in Jincheng (晉城), Shanxi.
The temple itself and the main hall were erected during the Northern Song dynasty. These stunning clay figures appeared a bit later and remained there during all subsequent architectural expansions and transformations.

Inktober day 10: The Fortune Witch(excuse my finger)
My inspiration for her comes from Ziwei Doushu, a type of chinese fortune telling that uses stars. I also love chinese astronomy, astrology not as much, but i am willing to listen to it for the sake of creating characters.
Her fan is also a wand that she uses to cast spells. She doesn't have much traditional witch traits at all, but to me being a witch is about more, and she uses a wand so there's one requirement filled.
She has magical objects of not only constellations, but lunar mansions, asterisms and the zodiac. Most go under the same category of being keys, but asterisms don't come in keys though.
Depending on if her fan is closed or not, she can perform different kinds of spells. The structure of the wand actually affects how she can use it, so she uses it strategically.
I didn't take the pictures very well today, but at least the drawing is very pretty.
I'm gonna choose her name and you bet it's gonna relate to astronomy, hopefully I find one with the character "星", "曐"(which is retro, but it fits bc of that) or "宿".
