Random Idea and small headcanons I came up with: A half-blood? half-nymph? child of Minthe (yk the nymph that was turned to mint by Persephone cause Hades had an affair with her, and she got a bit to proud about it) showing up at camp and just kinda becoming a walking source of good vibes and being pretty.

I completely based this on:

Like it’d be the song playing the background whenever they appeared.

They also always smell of fresh mint.

They are also low-key terrified of Nico and any possible child of Hades or Persephone.

Just some random things I thought of, hope you like it :)

Oh yeah when I was working on the Half-Nymph Demigod work, Minthe was one of those I was interested in writing or do a psyche! moment.

I can see the child of Minthe having good vibes and being pretty, but much like Mint, some people like it and some people not. Some like the fresh taste and smell of mint (side note: I LOVE MINT) but like, some people just do not subscribe to the mint vibe, you get me? However, being pretty would be a general thing so there's that. With the smell of fresh mint, why not go even further. Imagine the child of Minthe or children of Minthe to be exact, all have variation of mint; like they could be peppermint or spearmint, which are very standard and verrry nice, but did you know there are other types of mint? You could have a child of Minthe being associated with Chocolate mint; an actual mint type that smells like chocolate, Apple Mint for its minty, fruity flavour, or better yet, a Watermint a wonderful connection between Minthe being a naiad and now a plant nympth; where Watermint can grow in shallow water! But yeah definitely avoiding yet being drawn to a child of Hades would be accurate and steering clear of the child of Persephone by sheer association of their godly parents. What if, in MCU, one evening when Melinoe and Makaria are younger, Persephone walks in to see what her daughters are doing....

Only to find that her 5 daughters all managed to lead Hades into a fancy tea party, with his strong fingers in glittery mani pedi and a white flower crown made by Melinoe via magic

And then Hades looks up to his wife, beams and goes, ' Well, my dear, I guess this is my life right now. '

Synopsis - its winter and you want to help make the Demeter kids feel better about themselves

An - My AO3 fic is almost done 😻 I only have 6 more chapters to write.

Winter was one of the Harder seasons at camp. Not because of the weather, it was normally sunny and warm because of the special border but because the crops were heavily effected.

Growing slower and with lesser produce was an effect from Demeter’s depression with her daughter gone to the underworld. Her children were also effected with this, their moods down for the worse and many not even bothering leaving their cabins.

You were effected to. Your hair became duller and your eyes a darker color of gold. Spending nights awake and an odd craving of pomegranate also arises.

Laying with clarisse in her cabin as the rain outside helped water the fields you both just talked about upcoming events all while cuddling. You slowly ate pomegranate seeds, occasionally passing one to clarisse.

After a while the strong girl noticed your downer than normal mood. “What’s up, your never this quiet and when you are either your pissed at me or your sad”

You didn’t care for her attempt at a joke but it was fine. “I feel bad” you muttered holding your head up some.

“For what?” She asked trying to bring you some comfort.

“It’s winter and like normal my mom is in the underworld with hades and so forth and so forth and the Demeter kids really like having me around during this time, but I just wish there was something I could do for them to help make not just them but Demeter herself feel better”

It was an idea Of course. With the nature kids happier the crops would also show a good result from it. Though trying to bring all dozen and a half kids to a better mood was harder said then done.

Clarisse let out a soft sigh thinking about what to say. “I was thinking maybe like holding a small party of festival or something fun for the entire camp” You sat up stretching some. “If you came to ask Chiron with me maybe he’d say yes but I’d also need your cabins help to”

“Sounds like a plan. Only question though what makes you think the Demeter kids will come out of their cabin for this” she asked, reaching up and playing with a strand of your hair wrapping it around her finger.

“I’ll force them out, they all favor me mainly because of who my mom is” you shrugged. “So it shouldn’t be that hard.”

“Whatever you say” she gave you a reassuring smile before sitting up and giving you a subtle kiss.

Chiron agreed Of course, finding your idea to be beneficial to everyone. It was honestly a surprise though when the Athena, Dionysius, and Aphrodite cabin offered to help to.

With the entire camp helping you set up things went easier. The statues around camp were adorned with flowers and honorary wooden statues made with grain, roses, florals and more for Demeter and Persephone were made as well.

A large bonfire was created and multiple decorations put up. The saytrs and nymphs helped make a wide spread of deserts and finger foods as well as bringing a more lively feel to the night. It warmed your heart just how much these kids and creatures cared about the well being of not only the Demeter children but also the camp just as much as you.

Convincing the cabin four kids to come out was easy. They all wore pajamas and their hair messy and a few even had blankets around them.

Katie gardener the cabin counselor walked forward confused. Taking the opportunity you met her half way. “We made a festival of sorts. It’s to celebrate winter and our mothers. I figured that maybe this would help cheer some of your moods… we even got the cloven council to agree to play music” the last part made you giggle some.

At first the Ginger girls face was unreadable. Up until she started to cry. Quickly comforting her the other Demeter children followed suit, letting their tears out which you knew they shared with their mother you to started to cry some.

As Katie pulled away she thanked you. Walking with her towards the fire the party had officially started. Each kid seemed to of gotten a random burst of energy, their hair became brighter same as their skin and the other campers around you noticed the growing grass and plants near by.

Though it wasn’t much it was clear the goddesses appreciated your party in their honor.

Once the wooden statues were burned at peak of the night, the festival came to an end. Everyone happily returned to their cabins and you walked with clarisse towards hers, decided to secretly spend the night with her.

In her bed again You smiled over at her. “Thank you Claire..”

“It was Nothing” she smiled gently, only a smile reserved for you. “All it took was getting silena to agree to the idea and everyone else agreed quickly”

The notion made you giggle. “Guess my thanks should go to silena”

“I guess it should”

You closed the small gap giving her a sweet kiss. She was to good for you. Pulling away and cuddling into the crook of her neck you happily fell asleep in your girlfriend arms.

The following morning, the amount of strawberries, grain, and other vegetation that had grown not only overwhelmed everyone but could of set the entire camp well off for the next three winters. Not only that but for the following week you and the Demeter children all seemed to have a glowing effect over your bodies. Showing the appreciation from the gods.

Price

He had Hephaestus forge him a special razor so he could always keep his mustache in check after an incident where he tried to use a human razor and broke it.

He wears human clothes, he does have his godly robes but he prefers to wear something that may be comforting for whatever sacrificial woman he has at a given moment.

Has debated no longer accepting the women as sacrifices

for a long string of time the women were just the horniest ones or the village prostitutes. While they were nice for a week or two he did end up finding them homes elsewhere

Gaz says he fosters women like cats.

Price isnt looking at fostering anymore though. This most recent accidental sacrifice has by far been his favorite. She’s so warm, causes no problem, and isn’t like the last one he got who owned 8 cats.

Price likes cats, just not 8 of them.

He also worries Zeus will try to take his woman

Which is why the woman is hidden and protected by Price’s powerful shield from anyone who tries to creep on her. He doesn’t want his woman threatened by Hera.

Hera already knows he has decided to marry this one, as the goddess of marriage and is probably the most proud of him compared to Zeus’ other bastard children.

Soap

He most often wears his godly armor instead of his robes or human clothes.

The human clothes are really only to go see Price, the robes are really only for relaxing in his house, but the armor is for working.

He has to really just follow around his dad, Ares

He doesn’t know his goddess mom, and Ares wont tell him. Honestly he questions if he’s even Ares because the relationship isnt very father-son, they’re more just like Coworkers

He says his mom is probably Aphrodite but who knows

He spends most of his time with Simon.

Simon is relaxed and comes to work with him sometimes. Usually accidentally causing a cold breeze with his presence.

Soap linda digs the dark robes, he hates how shiny his white ones are.

Definitely hides amongst humans when he gets pent up or frustrated from work.

Gods are so demanding in bed, he’d rather have a human.

With Price looking like he’s going to settle down with his newest sacrifice, Soap thinks about finding his own woman. Price’s helps him cook and clean and look like she’d take it with no problems. Soap kinda wants that now

Ghost

He’s a very antisocial god.

Price has tried to get him to loosen up.

Price has offered him the best of some of the sacrifices that he didn’t get along with.

Simon just hasn’t shifted.

He buddies around with Soap, says its because their work is the most similar.

In reality Soap is the one person he favors the most. Keegan is also up there, but he’s no Johnny.

He never understood why Price took the sacrifices of women. He doesnt bother with the mountain god who gets on his nerves. He loves Gaz but his social battery just dies.

He doesnt see anyone loving that.

Not to mention, he’s the god of Winter. His fingers are cold, his robes are a dark black instead of a beautiful white because he’s from the underworld, and he spends a lot of time down there as well.

He refuses to kidnap a woman how Hades had. Says he had standards and is too attractive for that. Tells people he’ll get a woman when he wants one.

Persephone worries about him. Persephone wants a daughter-in-law who can bring her cold son out of this.

Even Demeter worries, and she loves when he visits. She has no more work when he comes into town, she just wish he didn’t reek of death from the underworld.

Konig

You think Konig was tall at somewhere between 6’7” and 6’10”? Now he’s like 8 feet tall.

He’s probably the loneliest of all of gods, he lives at the top of his mountain (which is kinda like the one of Olympus where it was kinda just a glorified hill) and doesn’t get much company, unlike the 141 group.

He does wear a veil because of his anxiety, being a lonely god makes you self conscious, what if all the other gods are much more handsome?

He wears robes, unlike the 141 group, he doesnt try to blend in with humans so he only has his godly robes.

He doesnt often get sacrifices either, since his altar is at the top of the mountain. Its why he doesnt intervene when the war people come often.

If only there was a way to sacrifice someone to keep him company, he’d never need much more again.

Especially with Atlas holding up the world.

Zeus told him he was born from a single drop of Atlas’ sweat hitting the ground.

Konig has never met Atlas. So he wouldn’t doubt he maybe is secretly a Zeus child? However he doesn’t mind not being a Zeus child. Hera doesn’t give him problems and he likes it that way.

He cooks, he cleans. He’d do anything for someone to spend a bit of time with. He might start scoping out the local village and town again. Last time he was disappointed by all the interesting ones being taken, so he stayed at a distance. But maybe he’d try again.

Keegan

Work is always calling Keegan.

As Thanatos says, “humans wont stop dying, birthing, fucking, or breathing”

Keegan doesn’t disagree.

He has black robes, similar to Ghost’s as they’re both from the underworld. He has spent a great deal of time with Simon as he has to deal with people suffering from hypothermia in the harsh winters.

Simon doesn’t cold shoulder him like most others. Compared to the gods from the underworld, Keegan is quite friendly. He just knows people dont live forever.

Or he hasn’t learned Price can protect humans and living things from death yet.

He has a solid relationship with Thanatos. He cant complain especially next to Soap’s and Price’s situations

He hasn’t ever really spent time with the 141 group because he’s worried he’ll have to get up and leave randomly due to his job.

He also doesn’t have human clothes like they do. He often wonders where they came from.

His home is in the underworld, so he worries about a human living there if he ever were to take on a bride.

Maybe he’d find a nice goddess like Hades did. But Price makes humans seem so nice.

He just worries he wouldnt be home enough to care for his human or he’d have to take his human to work to make sure she got enough vitamin D… i mean he can always gives you vitamin D but it’s a different vitamin.

He’s also worried about touching a human because what if he accidentally kills them or something ridiculous like that?

Too many risks. Maybe. Unless someone is brave enough to prove them wrong.

Gaz

He saves a lot of dropped babies from serious damage. He never shows himself, always stays invisible to the human eye, but he saves a lot of babies.

Also saves a lot of kids. Toddlers and young children fall quite a bit.

He has the whitest and cleanest and shiniest robes btw

But yeah he loves saving kids. Especially when he can show his form because adults don’t believe kids anyway.

Especially if they say they were saved by a god.

He also saves quite a bit of animals. Like bird eggs.

He just prefers saving kids.

He thinks they’re really darn cute.

Wouldn’t mind a few of his own

Doesnt help Hermes keeps teasing him though.

Hermes never misses a chance to remind him he came from him jerking it on a cloud and letting it fall to the earth.

Hermes thinks its really funny.

Gaz wouldn’t hate a partner. Nymph, Human, or Goddess.

He’s taken a couple of them to bed and has to say Human is his favorite.

Sebastian makes Konig’s world a bit less lonely? However isn’t the most wonderful company.

Definitely defiles the virgins of random towns near by.

Has fun telling them he’s a god and was sent by their towns patron to defile them

Lowkey Hera had to ask if he was one of Zeus

He was actually carved from clay and given gifts from gods

Artemis made him a skilled hunter, Hades made him a quick thinker, Athena gave him tactical knowledge, Ares gave him strength, Apollo gave him impermeable skin, Zeus gave him a big dick, Eris gave him wild anger

The usual

His job is not terribly demanding and has quite a bit of free time to spend with Konig

He has big dark armor and a giant axe. Definitely has a lot of fun with it

his dream is to get a temple of his own and his own priestesses who would do his bidding and pray to him their city doesnt go on a hit list for the gods

He also dreams to get a virgin sacrificed to him.

He isnt greedy like Price when it comes to women, he just wants one. One is all he would need.

He’d never need to go around defiling random virgins anymore, he’d just get to have his virgin at home.

He’d love to have his own servant. He’d treat her well he promises. He’d love an embarrassed virgin for himself.

according to the myth, hades took persephone from demeter to make her queen of the underworld, a place where the dead are kept. she is allowed to return to demeter every few months, thanks to a compromise from zeus that involved the seeds of pomegranates. in the months of her absence, the earth is covered in snow.

what if coriolanus snow took persephone as his first lady despite the repulsion he felt whenever he was around her because of what he saw from her father? and what if that repulsion was exactly what led him to marry her? he keeps her locked in at all times, but is allowed to return to her father on occasion. the times when she's away from her loved ones feels so cold.

and coriolanus isn't blind. he knows that his good friend, festus creed, had his eye on persephone price for a while. but the coward never made a move. he simply admired from afar. he knows what people would do for love, -- he experienced it himself -- so: did he also take persephone as his wife because it would keep festus close to his side? he'd swear loyalty to coriolanus if it meant getting to see persephone price and making sure she was safe (now that he knew what snow was capable of)?

I do believe that Zeus is a good father in many ways now don't get me wrong. I don't think he's a perfect father, but I think he's a good father to a lot of his kids, especially Athena

Zeus introducing Hephaestus to the Cyclops and begging them to let little Hephaestus watch as they craft magnificent things after he sees Hephaestus marvel at the wonderful prosthetic leg the Cyclops make for him -> this is related to my hc that Hephaestus, as a child, unwittingly walks in on Zeus and Hera arguing in the middle of the night, and Zeus, in his temper, thinking it's just a servant, yells at them, and accidentally releases a lightning bolt that destroys Hephaestus' leg permanently.

Zeus watching out for Persephone when she first comes to Olympus to be "formally recognised" as a goddess and receive his blessings -> Zeus knows that Demeter doesn't want her getting too attached to Olympus, so when his sons get all excited about this new single, pretty goddess being a potential bride, and Artemis gets excited about having a new partner to join her on her Hunts, Zeus defends Persephone and tells all of them to keep their hands to themselves.

Zeus sparring with all his kids!!!!!! All of them- Athena, Apollo, Artemis, Ares, Hermes- come at him all at once, even working together, they still can't defeat him.

Zeus knowing every single one of his children's names.. mortal and immortal alike. knowing their faces too, and recognising them by laugh or footstep alone even if he's never been actively present in their lives because he's always keeping an eye out, even when they don't realise it.

being a mediator for all his kids' squabbles... even the most minor of things, he somehow finds the time to sit down and listen.

hey lily!! hope ur day is going okay, here r some modern pippa thoughts 4 u.

so ive mentioned before in an ask that i hc her to be a primary school teacher, specifically for younger years!!

she starts off as a teaching assistant first, considers quitting because of her father's pressure on her to become a dancer, but ends up actively defying her father and stays because of mizzen, who makes her realise the reason she wanted to teach in the first place. to help children and young people.

here are some more headcanons ab teacher!persephone!!

- everybody calls her miss price, but mizzen calls her miss persephone. she has no idea how he found out her first name and tbh she doesn't want to know, but it sticks.

- she becomes a proper teacher after training as a TA for a year, and due to her experience in multiple fields of learning (she did five a-levels, which is very uncommon, most people do 3, in english literature, dance, sociology, psychology and environmental science) she gets the role pretty quickly.

- she goes on all of the school trips for the kids even tho she hates coaches so much.

- she meets pup at her job bc he teaches the older years, and she realises they went to the same secondary school, but never really knew eachother.

- they become friends like instantly, it turns out they both have an interest in teaching english lit.

- theyr definitely staff room gossip buddies.

- pippa makes REALLY good coffee, especially for work, and the teachers always try to get on her good side so she makes them all coffee.

- she allows mizzen to stay in her office when he's feeling overwhelmed, and lets him talk to her if there's anything on his mind.

- one day she brings in her persian cat called hazel and all the students love her.

Actually, I feel like Persephone is pretty popular in the fandom <3 Maybe a little bit overlooked as people give more attention to those characters with more screentime BUT she seems to be among the more popular mentors and I'm glad abt it <3

12. What's a headcanon you have for this character?

I hc Persephone to be very maternal. She grew up in a loving family herself (her family became even closer after the war and the whole maid thing) and when she's a mother herself, she's so good with her children and absolutely spoils them. Especially because she never forgives herself for not getting Mizzen out of the arena and therefore vows to give her own children the best childhood possible 🥲

Ya know, I was reading your Siren-Powers!Children of Poseidon post earlier and while I really absolutely love your thoughts on the Children of Hades & Zeus versions of the siren powers, I'd love to offer up some possible alternatives to the Siren!Powers that I think would better match up with those vibes <3

1) What if Children of Poseidon can appeal to the darker parts of the mind? In Ancient Mythology, Poseidon was often known as the "Dark Twin of Zeus" (as opposed to Hades, which we see in modern versions) and so what if, while Children of Zeus appeal to people's sense of justice and morality, Children of Poseidon appeal to their impulsivity and intrusive thoughts? They can't exactly give direct instructions nor can they invoke any immediate reactions through this power, but they can make their "suggestions" swirl around in their victim's heads until it is all they can think about. Like if Percy said to a monster: "What if you fall on your sword right now? What would happen?", throughout the course of the fight, the urge swirls in their mind until it gets stronger and stronger until eventually the monster does that (if they haven't already died yet). It's not an as effective power as it's cousins are but it does drive the victim slowly insane and can offer for some insane scenes if you phrase the questions just right. Basically, they're targeting the mind's intrusive thoughts and turning them 1000%

Another alternative to that is:

2) What if Children of Poseidon can confuse the mind? The Oceans are bottomless, unknown abysses who can easily sink ships and make creatures no longer know what is up or down and what is right or wrong. They invoke frantic survival instincts, even to the greatest swimmers and divers, and a lot of the time it's to the point where humans bring about their own downfall. There's a reason Thalassophobia is so common and exists. So what if Children of Poseidon can manipulate the frequency of their voices to invoke that kind of confusion/disorientation? What if they can make their victims either act out or break down within themselves in an existential panic attack? They could say things like "you don't know what's going on, do you?" while approaching them slowly with a sadistic smile like someone who's trying to talk down a dangerous person would. They could talk circles around someone while further bringing them down into their trap like a siren typically would but Poseidon was originally born to the land so wouldn't his and his children's power be more land-oriented? Food for thought but the whole hc still stands :)

All in all, as usual, this is just a suggestion/proposition coming from a brain who always thought Siren!Powers for Children of Poseidon was always weird and absolutely random--okay, the Oceans I get, but literally nothing else connects Poseidon to the sirens?? If anything, that would be more of Demeter/Persephone's domain because that is where the actual mythological origins lay (in some accounts)? Or with Children of the actual Seas/those who were actually born of the Seas like Children of Amphitrite or Porchys? Or just Nereids in general? Idk man, it just personally seems weird to me /gen--and so they decided to come up with cool and interesting alternatives! Pls tell me if you like them!!! (I absolutely adore your blog-- /shy)

I do like the idea of Poseidon's kids being able to appeal to the inner chaos of people - partly because it makes Dionysus and Percy occasionally beefing with each other even funnier since Dionysus is sometimes thought of as the god of chaos, and is capability of inflicting madness on characters, which, lol, Zeus being his dad is even funnier now that I think about it.

Dionysus: *makes wine*

Zeus: I like this.

Dionysus: *causes people to go insane and riot*

Zeus: I do not like this.

But back to the ocean bugs, them being able to cause disorder as a versus to their cousins being able to cause order fits Poseidon's status as a god of storms! And the fact that when he loses a competition, he immediately jumps to "flood this city, kill everyone". Percy and his siblings being able to inflict this mentality onto other people is a really neat way to look at it. Rather than getting people into line, they get people to scatter even more, maybe even causing them to go against their internal morals.

Water is also associated with chaos in some mythologies (which, yeah I get why), so that's another aspect that helps the idea. As well as the fact that water can distort your perception of things within it because of the refraction of the light, so distorting someone else's thoughts and being able to talk them into something they wouldn't normally do is 👀👀

So yeah - siren-like powers focused on causing disorder, distortion, confusion, and so on, make a lot of sense to what the ocean can illicit in people. These are a lot of good ideas 😊

As for the siren thing - yeah, I get it. I haven't really seen people talk about it before, but it doesn't really bother me because it's fun to think of different things.

As for greater fandom, yeah, it's likely because sirens are associated with the ocean. If you're focusing only on "Poseidon is the ocean, has no relation to the sirens outside of that", then some of the other parts of Percy's powers don't make sense - like being able to hold up the Lethe, or keep himself dry from it, being able to drown Ahkyls in her own fluids, and so on, because none of that is technically the ocean. The only link is that people associate the ocean with water/liquid and those other things involve water/liquid.

Or you can look at it the same way I look at Hades - where the link to Underworld is why Nico, Hazel, and Bianca are able to use the powers not related to the dead or underground wealth. Nico hopping through dreams is not an afterlife power, but Hypnos lives in the Underworld, he's connected to Hades by that, and so Nico gets that little boost. So Poseidon is the god of the ocean, and anything and anyone associated with the ocean is linked by that.

Sirens are also associated with merfolk in modern times, so there's that too. I mean, have you ever heard of a mermaid not singing? It might not be a "siren song" but it's still some kind of song. But, lol, don't stress yourself too much about it. If it doesn't make sense to you, that's perfectly understandable and the ideas you've presented are super great!

Hestia!

To be fair, Hestia is everyone's favorite. Second closest would be Hera, although in my WIP, that has been slowly broken down. Right now, Poseidon is his second closest sibling, since they bond over R.K., with Hades getting a chance to spoil a kid while his adopted children are hidden away.

Least favorite on a personal label is Demeter because of how she handled his relationship with Persephone, to the point that she neglects her other children. Alexandria, who I need to write about because I've only mentioned her a few times, is biologically Demeter's kid but officially Hades' kid. Demeter's neglect is how Hades started his whole adopting habit since Persephone was already in charge of her mother's kids at the academy. People only really started noticing when he started adopting other gods' kids.

Zeus is the absolute least favorite. To be fair, he's everyone's least favorite sibling.

Hey, I just thought of, like, the singlest best Billy Batson hc I'll ever have so, here I go...

So, bc Billy grew up as poor, he would know what it's like to not know when your next meal would be, and even if odd jobs can get you some money to pay for one, it only goes so far. And also bc I love lil' Billy Batson with a longer-than-himself criminal record (of stealing from big corporation only) and a acab personality trait (I don't know how much I've seen Billy-steals-a-cop-car hc, but I dig it), mixed with a touch of feral Billy in it... *chef kiss*

So, all that, plus the hc that Persephone is like "(⁠●⁠♡⁠∀⁠♡⁠) a baby~!" at billy (I don't know where I've seen it before), and the fact that he would really feel like an hypocrite arresting some kid for stealing some basic necessities, like food or clothes, for themself when he probably did the same thing (probably to the same store) some time ago....

And so, came the idea to just grow it all himself,, like vegetables and fruits, and bc of magic (and HE'S magic, like the magic-est magic man around) he can grow more, faster, and also he's tight with Persephone (so she helps, like blessing him...?), and a hero, so who's really gonna stop him, right?

Like, I'd really like itty bitty billy, just breaking the economy(?)/capitalism(?) around food and basic necessities, bc let's be real, we all know that with the Wisdom of Salomon, he could probably pull off sewing some kids' clothes.

I'd just really love it if he, homeless, orphan, street rat Billy "I'm not 6 I'm 10" Batson, Champion of Magic, became the Protector of All Children (or something similar).

And also, if he had like some sort of ongoing truce with Poison Ivy, where when she is within Fawcett City, in Captain Marvel's domain, she isn't in Batman's reach anymore, as long as she Promise to help him grow his "little vegetable garden" (who's now like, decently Big).

'Cause I'm sure that billy "I lie to the JL for kicks but also bc I'm a kid with an adult body a word away" batson would be able to, not only weasel a Pact out of her (that would basically be sayin' "You are now my Slave" in small print, that would have her be in a do-or-die type of situation, with the 'do' part being "help me grow my plants", and the 'die' part being "you'll die horribly, and probably lose your soul too"), and also get a gigantic amount of respect, bc, like I said, he's tight with Persephone... the LITERAL Goddess of Spring, Grain, Nature and Destruction, and also the Queen of the Underworld, and Ivy grows plant so....

I'd just really like something like that in a fic, but I can't write, nor keep to a schedule (or even get it from start to finish with something on the middle) so... I just want this Billy Batson hc to be out there

I love the idea of Billy getting fed up with capitalism and providing for both himself and his community. And I also love the headcanon that various gods and goddesses adore Billy (including Persephone of course). Mixing those ideas together is awesome! I can just imagine him having a few secret vegetable gardens throughout the city that various homeless people and people who are low income/don't have food security could drop by and take what they need.

I think that if for whatever reason Poison Ivy found herself in Fawcett City, he wouldn't even need to trick her into some contract, she would just see his garden and be like "wow what kind of fertilizer are you using to get your tomatoes so big?" And then she would give him tips on how to grow different things even when he wasn’t getting divine help. She would also teach him about native and invasive species of plants so didn’t plant the wrong ones. Setting up secret gurellia gardens to turn the concrete landscape of a city's abandoned buildings into lush thriving environments is her jam.

DPxHP HC - Thoughts On Obscurials & Wizardry

Something I don't understand is why, when Danny is brought to a Wizarding school & Danny refuses to cooperate, why don't people tell him that if he doesn't use his magic & train it, that he runs the risk of developing an Obscurial?

Like, all they'd have to say is that his magic will eat him from the inside out & that it could result in wild, violent, & dangerous outbursts that could potentially hurt, if not kill, others.

If nothing else, he'd listen to a warning that suggests he or his loved ones could be hurt through his actions.

While Illvermorny is recognized as the wizarding school in America, the truth is, it's just the biggest & most recognized. In reality, America is too big to only have 1.

Instead, there are several, the second most famous one resides near Salem, while another can be found in New Orleans, which also has a vast magical community & has America's equivalent of Diagon Alley, which can be found under Bourbon Street in the catacombs, Bazar du Sous-Sol du Laveau.

There are also several small wizarding schools that teach courses on traditional Native American magics, as well as other courses on the magics of other cultures. That is, alongside American magic which is a mix of different culture's magical disciplines.

Like, I can absolutely see Amity being a sort of no-man's land for magic considering the amount of ghosts there are there. It'd absolutely be a Statute of Secrecy risk.

But at the same time, the Salem Magical Institute, the New Orleans Seminary of Voodoo (or NOSoV), known locally as New Orleans Séminaire du Vaudou, & any other schools available would have to take in the magical Amity children because of the possibility of them becoming Obscurials & becoming even bigger risks to the Statute of Secrecy.

At the same time, I imagine that MACUSA has tried to Obliviate the no-maj residents to get them to forget the strange, solid ghosts that have been appearing in the town. Which, I think it'd be interesting if the magical community has had a remarkably small amount of encounters with. Like, the most well-documented Hereafter/IR ghosts that they know about are poltergeists & there's still very little on them. I read a fic where Constantine has never actually met one & even once compares them to demons alongside ghosts even though I think the IR ghosts would find that insulting & inaccurate. I mean, demons are evil by default. Ghosts are more ambiguous.

That is, even though wizards & wiccans use Lethe river water in forgetfulness potions, they get it from an old fountain in Greece where an ancient temple to Hades lays. As such, it's been largely forgotten by the wizarding world that the fountain was built by an ancient thanatomagical priest of Hades, Persephone, & their children, Zagreus & Melinoe, or that it's from the Underworld, which is just a small section of the IR.

However, I feel like ectoplasm has a small resistance to certain magics, especially the Obliviate spell. As such, because most of the townspeople are in some stage of liminality, they can't be Obliviated.

Either way, they might not want to have anything to do with anything that violates the Statute of Secrecy, but in order to minimize & control the problem as much as possible, they have to.

Like, no one seems to take this fact into account when they write DPxHP crossovers.

Another thing is the reactions of the Fenton parents to the revelation of magic existing. Particularly, that they would be very stubborn about disbelieving it.

Both of them.

They're both scientists after all.

Though Jack, having come from a line of supernatural hunters, would be much easier to get to believe it, but at the same time, he is very much against it. He was always the black sheep of the family & was always very terrible at the clan's apotropaic magics & never really understood the process. Like, he just couldn't wrap his head around the 'mechanics.' So, he rejected it, asserting that it was all phoney & hocus-pocus & he instead sought out a way to fight ghosts using something he did understand. Which was science & engineering.

On the other hand, Maddie would absolutely NOT believe in it at all & would be utterly convinced that it was all hooey & it would be like pulling teeth to get her to believe otherwise. Not only that, but she'd get angry about people trying to convince her & her family otherwise.

It wouldn't be until it all comes to a head, possibly Jazz developing an Obscurial & beginning to slowly die, that she'd realize that it's real. But even then, she wouldn't react well. It would destroy everything she thought she knew about the world while Jack would adjust... rather clumsily, but he'd adjust.

Like, I imagine that Danny, Jazz, Sam, Tucker, & Ellie would all have magic & that when an eagle first came with Jazz's letter, & Maddie was the one who read it & scoffed, then threw it away.

It'd be a similar scene to the first book/movie where the owls kept coming. Only here, Maddie would find a way to repel the animals. Maybe some sort of force field around the town, which could be what caused the issue in the first place.

Then, as more & more kids would start getting ill with some unknown illness that lashes out & destroys things, then begin dying, Jazz included. After the first couple of deaths, MACUSA Aurers would come & use their magic to destroy the field.

After which, they'd escort representatives of the Salem Magical Institute, New Orleans Seminary of Voodoo, or Illermorny, as well as healers & Obscurial experts, to the homes of magical children with new letters & begin to try & save as many children as possible.

There would be stern lectures on the negligence of magic & the dangers of Obscurials.

For families like the Mansons, there would also be a clarification that while the sort of witches they were always warned about did exist, they are by far, NOT the norm.

That magic itself isn't evil, rather it's neutral, & that it's just something you're born with. It only becomes a real danger through misuse or disuse.

The only way to become the sort of witches that they fear is for an individual to make a bargain with some dark entity, either for magic or more power.

That there is a distinct difference between the wiccans & wizards (which is what I call the general wizarding public) of wizarding world society, called light magic, & the witches & warlocks of dark magic.

Even still, I don't think the Manson parents would approve. Ida would be supportive if cautious, while Jeremy would be dubious, both due to their religion, but not Pam. Pamela would reject the training of magic outright as a result of generations of anti-magic & Scourer thinking.

It's from her side of the family that Sam gets her magic from & one of her ancestors was a dark witch burned at the stake during the Salem Witch Trials before the invention of the bluebell flame spell. This resulted in magiphobic ideologies in her family &, as a result, they tried to reject their abilities.

Pam had always feared that her daughter would turn out like her ancestor & now, she feels that her fears have been realized.

Though, despite canon, the true emotion behind all her anger & derision is legitimate fear for her daughter.
