Tried to tip a tumblr blog at 1am and it was such a suspicious transaction it immediately put a full fraud freeze on my account

Fortunately, banks no longer just ask 'did you make that transaction' they want to make sure you weren't scammed into making that transaction and 5mins after their call will give away all your money anyway.

This is an honest to goodness life saving movement and I cannot be happier banks are adopting it

Unfortunately, it meant I had to have the most embarrassing financial call of my life

Me: Ah yeah I was just trying to tip a tumblr blog

Cash: right and were you directed there by a Facebook link? An Instagram advert?

Me: no I was just on tumblr...on purpose

Caah: and this person asked you for money?

Me: oh no they just had a funny story, which happened to be about money and I thought, "wouldn't it be funny if I tipped them"

Me: * covering a reblog by reblog update on the adventures my mutual was having *

Cash: okay I don't think that can actually happen though..

Me: It might not have, but i was happy to tip them just because it was funny

Cash: and how well do you think you know this person?

Me: *considers explaining how much I know about a beloved mutual without ever knowing their name or face* ... I have no idea who this person is

I think in the end Cash decided there was no saving me from myself

I just saw this on TikTok so about the Chase Bank “money glitch”

You cannot withdraw hundreds/thousands/millions from your own bank account at an ATM and then close the account

That is called wire fraud

You also cannot write a false cheque and cash it into your account, and withdraw than money

That is cheque fraud

This is not “infinite money”

You will be blacklisted from banks and JP Morgan will get your ass in jail and will hunt you to get their money back

It’s very inconvenient not being able to own a bank account in the digital age

Oh my god, I never shared this...

I was intending to make an eene x knd crossover comic with this that would have theoretically taken place directly after the B&M crossover (since the Eds technically did appear) but my motivation to do so fell flat on its ass...

I was going to make Jonny and Plank secret KND members because I thought it'd be fun, and like, his Captain Melonhead persona was his KND alter ego, he already has a secret tree-house base with a bunch of tech, I thought it fit rather well.

Maybe one day I'll think about making it again... who knows. It's a lot of work to make comics for someone with so little free time. 😞

(Also I'll give you a quarter if you can figure out why I assigned Jonny the Numbuh 4031 🤭)

I've got like half an hour or so of the episode left but I'm posting this so I don't forget; you know Brennan's sometimes talked about NPCs who act affronted that they are in a D&D game and people are off doing D&D PC stuff (Caramelinda from A Crown of Candy and Steel from The Wizard, The Witch, and the Wild One being prime examples)? Ashton reminds me of real-world people who act like everything is a D&D game. Like, the people who seem to genuinely think that if you guillotine a billionaire, their money will spontaneously be equitably distributed among the masses and their contribution to air pollution will suddenly become an equivalent source of clean energy.
