The only everything shower routine you’ll ever need ౨ৎ
Pre shower
Hair -
Scalp oiling: use a store bought scalp oil or make your own. Cover hair with cling film to stop dust and dirt while it stays in your hair for 2-4 hours.
Rosemary water: boil rosemary in water for 20 minutes and allow to cool before straining into a spray bottle.
Scalp massage: massage scalp for at least 20 minutes once scalp oil is applied, increases blood circulation which helps hair growth.
Face -w
Flaxseed mask: mix 1/2 flaxseeds with 3 cups water, bring to a boil until thick while continuously stirring then put into a container to cool. Apply to face once cool and leave until dried, around an hour.
Shape eyebrows: pluck eyebrows, if wanted use dye to define them further.
Hands and feet-
Foot spa: if you don’t have a foot spa fill a bowl with hot water, add bath salts and essential oil for scent and extra benefits
Remove any nail polish
Shape and file nails
Scrub feet: use pumice stone or another tool, then afterwards a body/foot scrub.
Body -
Dry brush: start from the bottom of your body and work you way up. Promotes blood circulation and exfoliates giving you smooth skin.
During shower
Hair -
Double shampoo: double shampoo when scalp oiling to properly cleanse scalp of oil.
Hair mask: while the hair mask sits in your hair for 10+ minutes it’s a good time to gua sha your face.
Conditioner
Face -
Gua sha: open lymph nodes, go through a gua shaing routine, then drain lymph nodes. There are lots of tutorials online to follow. I gua sha in the shower with a face wash and water. Never gua sha on dry skin it damages your skin barrier and causes premature aging, if you skin starts to feel like it’s pulling add more moisture.
Face wash
Body -
Exfoliate: use a glove, net or other exfoliating tool to exfoliate body.
Body scrub
Body wash
Shave (if wanted): use a sharp razor, blunt razors can cause razor bumps. Shave with a cream or wash, never on skin alone.
After shower
Face -
Face mask
Skincare: if you have products that you only use every so often this is a good time to use them as an extra treat.
Eye mask
Lip scrub: make your own with sugar, honey and coconut oil or use a store bought one.
Lip balm/moisturiser
Eyelash and eyebrow oil/serum: castor oil works great for me.
Body -
Body oil: apply a scented body oil straight out of shower while skin is still damp.
Moisturize: moisturise entire body.
Hair -
Leave in conditioner: depending on hair type the amount will vary, if you have straighter hair add very little and only to the ends to prevent greasiness.
Hair oil: once hair is completely dry warm a tiny amount of hair oil in your palms (hair oil is not the same as scalp oil!) rub into the very ends of your hair to help with split ends, shine and dryness
Hands and feet -
Paint nails
Cuticle oil: apply either bought cuticle oil or another skin oil such as almond oil or coconut oil to cuticles of hands and feet after nail polish is dry.
Moisturize: moisture both hands and feet, add vaseline to feet on top and put on socks to help absorption
Extras
Layer scents: mix and match the scents body washes, scrubs, hair products and moisturisers to create your personal scent. For example fruity, warm and spicy, vanilla, etc.
Pick products for your concerns: curate your products to your skin and hair concerns. Use a more moisturising lotion is your skin is dry, use a repairing shampoo if your hair is damaged, etc.
The best time to do an everything shower is on reset days, although it’s a great way to end and start the week these don’t have to be on Sundays. Of course everything showers can be done whenever you feel like relaxing and giving yourself some love.

Holy shit, that was a bad day.
Mom's decline. Decline isn't good word for it. It's a rollercoaster through a house of horrors. As her kid, I know that ending up this way was her nightmare. She was up and around, then crashed after lunch, only to be awake in the middle of the night for a while. We had a video call which interested her, but her aphasia is severe - literal word salads.
I cried. Yes, she was abusive, severely fucked up, never should have had a kid. But she's still my mother, and I refused to abandon her to shitty care and indifference the way she did with me when it became clear I wasn't an accessory or a toy or a pet. I would not let her drown because I didn't feel like swimming. I still cdried, but it was for the mother that she occasionally could be, but could not maintain being. Fucked up, right? Right.
I can't fly. And this gave me a whole-ass meltdown because my life is based on the comfort of being in control, of routine, of security. Cancer blew that to flinders, thanks. In particular, because I am missing 22 lymph nodes, when I get sick and my lymphatic system gets on the job, that fluid has to go somewhere, and that was my right leg. It's painless, and sneaked up on me. Suddenly I had a leg half again as big as it ought to be.
Lymphedema compresses your veins while it inflates your leg. Compressing your veins leads to compromised circulation. Circulation issues lead to clots. Clots can lodge in the leg (amputation) or lungs (collapsed lung anybody?) or brain (stroke city). I can fly when I can see my ankle again.
Yesterday was nothing but epic pain. Not a ten. but wigwagging between a 4 and a 7. The kind of pain where you just lie there and breathe, where your neck and shoulders pop from relief when the meds kick in. Also, missing four feet of intestines turned into 'how much immodium do I really need?' and a call to the doc for an answer.
I don't like not being in charge of my life anymore. Cancer was in charge of my life, and it didn't stop being in charge when chemo and surgery were finally behind me. It feels more in charge than ever.
I will fly. I have exercises. I have compression stockings from toe to groin. I have massage, dry brushing, and castor oil poultices. I have peer-reviewed supplements.
I am sad about my mother. She was a brilliant woman in a bad time, with her own unaddressed mental health issues and trauma. I am mourning for her, and for the mother I needed but did not have.
I am pissed at cancer. Goddammit straight to hell. It didn't kill me, but I will not let it rob me of the rest of my life. Fuck cancer.

Lymph nodes are the body's natural defence against disease or infection. In order to drain them in the neck naturally, home therapies like honey, lemon or castor oil can be used. If that does not work, consultation with a doctor would help.

I’ve been taking the time to really learn about herbs, (because Pisces season really chilled me out with planning content lol) and I found out that castor oil has a lot of topical properties. Applying the oil to the chest and under the arms will help drain the lymph nodes. If you also apply the oil to your stomach (as a woman), it will increase blood flow there. I even find it helps with constipation, just by it being on the skin and using a method called castor oil packing. This oil also helps with boils and the pain that’s followed by them as well. So next time your at the store, pick up some castor oil, because I promise it’ll be your staple product. . . . . . . . . . . . #spiritualawakening #tarot #tarotcardsdeck #blacktarotreaders #witch #witchyvibes #witchcraft #witchythings #astrology #astrologylover #astrologyillustration #witchyvibes #spiritualawakening #spirituality #spiritualjourney #spiritualawakening #spirituality #spiritual #spiritualjourney #astrology #witchesofinstagram #witchyvibes #witchcraft #witchythings #witch (at New York City, N.Y.) https://www.instagram.com/p/Cbfk-ByOH_8/?utm_medium=tumblr

Safe Aviary Plants and Toxic Plants for Birds@|what plants can i put in an outdoor aviary@|@|24
Tumblr media
Plants not only add aesthetic value to an otherwise sterile-looking enclosure, but they also provide a more natural, engaging, and secure environment for the inhabitants to enjoy. Using plants to create visual barriers within the flight may help reduce aggression among cagemates by providing objects for the birds to hide behind.5 This in turn helps to make the birds feel more secure, and may therefore result in reduced stress levels. Foliage in the cage gives the birds something to occupy themselves with–birds often chew on, play within, and even build nests out of plants placed in their living space.
For this reason, care must be taken when selecting plants to decorate a flight. Both live and fake plants may be used, but all parts of the plant must be safe and nontoxic. The best fake plants to use are constructed of untreated silk and plastic. Make sure the silk plants do not have any components that may be easy for a bird to consume, tangle itself in, get caught on, or stuck by. Treated wood baskets and paper plants may be hazardous choices and are not recommended for decorating flights. Two benefits of using silk plants are: 1) they are not as easily destroyed by the birds, and 2) they can be scrubbed clean and disinfected as needed.
[external_link_head]
Live plants tend to demand more upkeep and may need to be replaced more frequently, as finches often love to pick them apart. Try to obtain plants that have not been sprayed with any pesticides or chemicals, and be sure to rinse the plants off before placing them in and around the flight. Do not add any fertilizers to the soil (they are toxic);6 if fertilizers are already present in the soil, repot the plant with uncontaminated soil. Leaving each plant in its pot is suggested, in case a plant dies and needs to be removed.
Helpful Hints41
Placement Plantings should be spaced appropriately to allow room for flight paths and to permit the birds to access to the floor of the enclosure. Walk-in enclosures should also have planned pathways for birdkeeper access. Be careful to provide climbing vines with trellis to support the weight of their growth; otherwise they could break the aviary mesh and allow escape of the birds.
Selection Aside from ensuring that the plant(s) you have selected are non-toxic, try to avoid purchasing plants which are tall and rapidly-growing as these will require constant pruning. In addition to considering what plants are best suited for your area, don’t forget to also consider the needs of the birds. Avadavats and Munias enjoy climbing small bamboos and grasses, for example, Munias and Mannikins prefer to weave their nests into grass clumps, and Weavers need palm leaves and broad-leafed grasses for nesting material.
Timing of Live Plantings Plants should be added to the enclosure as it is being completed. The plants should be allowed to grow sufficiently before adding the birds; this way, the plants will be better able to withstand being nibbled on. Ideally plants should produce their densest foliage while the birds are nesting.
Safe Aviary Plants25,17
When choosing plants for your aviary, consult a botanist or experienced gardener who can help you select plants which are suitable for planting in your locale (considering your hardiness zone, soil type, sun exposure, etc.). Below are some options which have been listed as safe for birds.

Toxic Plants
Plant toxicosis in birds occurs if they chew on or ingest toxic plants. The toxic reaction can be due to pesticide residues on the plants, or to toxins within the plants themselves. Birds which chew on toxic plants may develop oral irritation; if they ingest enough, systemic clinical signs can occur such as vomiting or diarrhea. There is likely significant species differences in sensitivity,16 and studies are lacking. However, plants which have been reported as toxic in some birds, or which are considered to be potentially toxic include:6,25,52,29,56,16,17,28

Avian Plant Toxicology Research
Studies of plant toxicity in finch species are greatly lacking, however a few studies were done using canaries. Unfortunately, because great variation exists among species, it is not safe to assume that plants which are non-toxic to canaries are equally safe to other birds and vice versa.
[external_link offset=2]
AUTHOR(S): Arai, M.; Stauber, E.; Shropshire, C. M. TITLE: Evaluation of selected plants for their toxic effects on canaries. YEAR: 1992 CITATION: J Am Vet Med Assoc, 200(9), +61404532026
ABSTRACT: Leaves or fruit from 14 plants considered to be toxic to pet birds were administered by gavage to 15 pairs of canaries (Serinus canaria). Each bird was given 0.12 to 0.70 g of plant material. One pair served as a control and was given distilled water. The plant materials were flash-frozen in liquid nitrogen, pulverized, and resuspended in deionized water for administration. Of the plants tested, 5 (
oleander, lupine, foxglove, yew leaves, and dieffenbachia) were considered highly toxic and were associated with acute death of birds. The remaining plant samples (clematis, Hoya carnosa, privet Ligustrum vulgare, parsley Petrosilium sativum, cherry Prunus sp., Pyracantha coccinia, rhododendron, black locust Robinia pseudoacacia, and wisteria) caused no, or only transient, clinical illness.
AUTHOR(S): Hargis, A. M.; Stauber, E.; Casteel, S.; Eitner, D. TITLE: Avocado (Persea americana) intoxication in caged birds. YEAR: 1989 CITATION: J Am Vet Med Assoc, 194(1), 64-66
ABSTRACT: Following two incidents in which a pet canary and three pet cockatiels died under conditions suggesting ingestion of avocado as cause of death, an experimental study was undertaken. Avocados of two cultivars were mashed and administered via feeding cannula to 8 canaries and 8 budgerigars. Two control budgerigars were given water via feeding cannula. Six budgerigars and 1 canary died within 24 to 47 hours after the first administration of avocado.
Tumblr media
Deaths were associated with administration of both avocado cultivars. Higher dose was associated with greater mortality. The 2 budgerigars given water were normal throughout the observation period. It is concluded that avocados are highly toxic to budgerigars and less toxic to canaries. PM findings observed in some birds included subcutaneous oedema in the pectoral area and hydropericardium.
The following study was done using just budgies:
AUTHOR(S): Shropshire, C. M.; Stauber, E.; Arai, A. TITLE: Evaluation of selected plants for acute toxicosis in budgerigars. YEAR: 1992 CITATION: J Am Vet Med Assoc, 200(7), 936-939
ABSTRACT: Pairs of budgerigars were given samples, by gavage, of plants considered potentially toxic to pet birds. Samples were prepared by flash-freezing and powdering fresh plant material in liquid nitrogen and resuspending the material in deionized water for administration. Of the 19 plants tested, only 6 induced clinical signs of illness; these plants included
yew, oleander, clematis, avocado, black locust, and Virginia creeper (Taxus media, Nerium oleander, Clematis sp, Persea americana, Robinia pseudoacacia, Parthenocissus quinquefolio).
The other plants tested in this study were: bleeding heart (Lamprocapnos spectabilis), privet (Ligustrum sp.), honeysuckle (Lonicera sp.), lupine (Lupinus sp.), cherry (Prunus sp.), pyracantha (Pyracantha coccinea), boxwood (Buxus sp.), dumbcane (Dieffenbachia seguine), foxglove (Digitalis sp.), spindle bush (Euonymus alatus), poinsettia (Euphorbia pulcherima), rhododendron (Rhododendron sp.), and blue elderberry (Sambucus cerulea).
Note how some plants which appear well tolerated by budgies (lupine, dieffenbachia, foxglove) prove fatal to canaries, while some plants which canaries appear to tolerate (clematis, black locust) make budgies quite ill. Until more research is done, it is important to err on the side of caution and avoid any plant which may potentially be toxic. [external_footer]

Use Effective Home Remedies for Swimmers Ear
Swimmers ear is a condition where the ear canal and the outer ear is infected. It is also called Otis Externa. The canal is the tubular structure that extends from the outer part to the ear drum. The primary function of the canal is to protect the ear from any foreign particle entering it. water in ear after swimming. The outer part of the canal produces a wax. This wax helps trap the dirt present so the dirt does not enter the ear. The small hair present also prevents dirt from getting into the ear. The ear canal therefore acts like a barrier against infection.
Anyone can get swimmers ear, but children are more prone to getting this. It occurs mostly when water enters the ear while swimming and in some cases while bathing. That's why the name is swimmers ear. When this canal lining breaks or gets damaged, it allows the bacteria or fungus to get in.
Tumblr media
The reason for a swimmers ear is due to the breaking of the lining. This is often caused by the moisture in the ears due to water. This happens mainly after swimming if the ear is not dried properly. Inserting and poking with buds, pencils, pins can also damage the lining. Usage of head phones, plugs and hearing aids can cause infection. Chemicals, dyes, shampoo, allergies, vigorous scratching is also responsible in swimmers ear. If the middle ear is infected and the pus drains to the outer canal, it can result in swimmers ear too. People with a low immunity or those who are diabetic are prone to suffering from this condition.
This condition is commonly caused by bacteria and in some cases by fungus. The symptoms are redness of the ear, inflammation of the ear canal, severe pain when touched, itching, ringing noises, swollen lymph nodes and fluid drainage. The hearing may be also affected temporarily in some people. Some experience slight fever too.
Antibiotics and anti inflammatory medicines are available to treat swimmers ear. Some home remedies for the same are

Signs of breast cancer may include a lump in the breast, a change in breast shape, dimpling of the skin, and fluid coming from the nipple, a newly inverted nipple, or a red or scaly patch of skin. Risk factors for developing breast cancer include being female, obesity, lack of physical exercise, drinking alcohol, hormone replacement therapy during menopause, ionizing radiation, early age at first menstruation, having children late or not at all, older age, prior history of breast cancer, and family history. About 5–10% of cases are due to genes inherited from a person's parents, including BRCA1 and BRCA2 among others.
Breast cancer most commonly develops in cells from the lining of milk ducts and the lobules that supply the ducts with milk. Cancers developing from the ducts are known as ductal carcinomas, while those developing from lobules are known as lobular carcinomas. In addition, there are more than 18 other sub-types of breast cancer. Some cancers, such as ductal carcinoma in situ, develop from pre-invasive lesions.
The diagnosis of breast cancer is confirmed by taking a biopsy of the concerning lump. Once the diagnosis is made, further tests are done to determine if the cancer has spread beyond the breast and which ayurvedic treatment of cancer are most likely to be effective.

1. Listen To Your Inner Voice:
Connect with your body and mind.  Take time to relax, breath deeply and fully.  Meditate daily. Exercise regularly.  Listen to your body’s voice and pay attention to its signs.  When you feel like going to bed early, do it.  When you crave some specific food, have it.
2. Take Good Care Of Yourself And Do What You Love. Every Day:
Indulge in a healthy diet, move, get enough rest and sleep, cultivate happy and loving relationships, and enjoy hobbies that make you happy.  Connect with your emotions.  Writing a journal or practicing the art of gratitude are wonderful ways to let your emotional energy flow.

3. Take Care Of Sweat The Smart Way:
Use natural aluminum-free deodorants.  Antiperspirants create a blocking layer, which causes build up of in the tissue instead of its natural exclusion.
4. Free Your Breasts:
Underwire bras cause stagnation in the tissue by constricting lymph circulation.  Wear comfortable bras without wires.  As my brilliant teacher Claudia Welch says: “Save your underwire bra only for a special stagnation.”
5. Be Friends With Your Plate:
Choose foods which contain plenty of prana or life energy.  Enjoy whole, fresh, alkalizing, organic, local, and enzyme rich foods when possible.  Load up on fiber and make it your habit.  Your body will thank you for it.   Avoid leftovers, GMO, processed, canned, frozen, fried and microwaved foods – all of these are low in nutrition and may be a potential source of toxin accumulation.
6. Spice it up:
Warming spices increase circulation and energy flow.  By following your individual body constitution (Vata, Pitta and Kapha) and seasonal changes, spices such as garlic, ginger and turmeric are beneficial.
7. Massage Your Breast Daily:
Pamper yourself with a gentle loving breast massage.  Use warm castor oil or sesame oil (organic is the best choice, if available).  Massages detoxify and stimulate the lymph system.
8. Avoid Toxic Cosmetics:
Know what products you apply on your skin.  Make sure to look carefully at the ingredients of the cosmetics you use.  Many beauty products contain carcinogens and endocrine-disrupting chemicals that increase breast cancer risk.

The Crazy Wonders of Castor Oil
Castor Oil is a marvelous and special healer. It has the ability to strengthen the immune system and heal disease (and is completely safe) yet it is derived from the same plant as ricin, a deadly poison with no antidote! Native to India, castor oil has been used for centuries for its medicinal benefits. The plant was referred to as "Palma Christe" because the leaves were said to resemble the hand of Christ. It was later adopted for medicinal use in Ancient Egypt, China, Persia, Africa, Greece, Rome, and eventually in 17th Century Europe and the Americas. The oil is a very pale yellow liquid that is extracted from castor seeds (Ricinus Communis). It is an anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant, and triglyceride, comprised of fatty acids. 90 percent is ricinoleic acid. This unique fatty acid is found in lower concentrations in a few other seeds and oils and is thought to be responsible for castor oil's unique healing properties. The oil's healing capabilities go way beyond moisturizing the skin! Since it can also strengthen the immune system, castor oil is considered a great remedy to treat the following major illnesses and ailments: · Multiple Sclerosis · Parkinson's Disease · Cerebral Palsy · Hair loss · Pain from Arthritis and Rheumatism It has also been found to help with many everyday problems such as: · Yeast Infections · Constipation · Gastrointestinal Problems · Menstrual Disorders · Migraines · Acne · Sunburn · Athlete's Foot · Ringworm · Skin Abrasions · Inflammation The Way It Heals When castor oil is absorbed through your skin, your lymphocyte count increases. Lymphocytes are your immune system's disease-fighting cells and are produced and stored mainly in your lymphatic tissue (thymus gland, spleen, and lymph nodes). Hundreds of miles of lymphatic tubules allow waste to be collected from your tissues and transported to your blood for elimination, a process referred to as lymphatic drainage. When your lymphatic system is not working properly, waste and toxins can build up and make you sick. Increased lymphocytes speed up the removal of toxins from your tissues, which promotes healing. What an amazing extra jump to cleanse your body of toxic junk How to Use It The famous psychic, Edgar Cayce, swore by the benefits of the castor oil pack. For all intents and purposes, the whole point is to add heat to the oil to stimulate the healing. It works all over the body. If you have a kidney problem, put oil on the kidney area and apply heat. A cyst? Same thing. Just add oil, heat, feel a little tingle, and literally watch the magical healing occur! I used it on myself and witnessed the healing occur overnight after doing this on my skin. You can simply rub castor oil onto an affected area of your skin. Or, you can affix a Band-Aide soaked in castor oil if only a very small area needs to be treated. For larger or more systemic applications, it can be used as massage oil, which is reported especially effective when applied along your spinal column, massaged along your lymphatic drainage pathways. But the coup de grace of castor oil therapy is the "castor oil pack." To learn how to do this, click here: http://www.edgarcayce.org/are/holistic_health/data/thcast1.html
