it’s really tough in this system. i’m still relatively new, i’m still absolutely terrified to be here but i try to act like everything’s fine and i don’t mind it because i don’t want to seem like a wimp. maybe i *am* a wimp though, because everything here scares me, existing scares me.

i miss my dad. we have someone similar in the system, a fictive from a similar source, but he’s not the same. he’s not my dad, he’s like another version. he acts like a dad, sometimes, when it’s not too tough, when all he has to say is “good job, kid!”. is it bad if it hurts? i’ve always been close to my dad, always stuck to him like glue, and now i’m away from him with people i don’t properly know. i’ve kept up appearances by being happy and bubbly and what people expect out of me, but i’m hurting. i’m hurting and i want to go home.

i hate being in this body. i hate how broken it is, how we can’t walk far distances and how we feel pathetic all the time because our body just seems to constantly hate us. i hate how bad our balance is and how often we stumble and feel embarrassed. i hate how we can’t understand other people properly and how it means we barely have any friends at university. i hate how we’re almost constantly alone. i hate not knowing why we’re so broken, why we’re so wrong, because we have no diagnosis and don’t have the money to seek one for anything our family and us suspect.

i don’t feel real a lot of the time. i feel like i’m just ghosting along, pretending and acting and playing the role of someone else. i feel like i’m playing the role of cassie cage even though that’s who i am? but i feel like i’m not really her, like i’m some quieter lonelier person under the mask of cassie cage. is that weird? every time i front i don’t feel real.

i hate how feminine this body is, which is weird because i’m a girl. i hate how curvy it is, how soft, how plush, the weight on our chest and the hair that tries to fluff up at the back and looks girly. but it’s wrong, because i’m meant to be a girl, so i shouldn’t hate it.

i just feel so lonely, i have no one i can talk to or reach out to, no one i know that’s my age, no one that really knows *me*. i’m getting tired of the act right now, i’ve been playing it for a while without a break, and i just want to relax and go home.
