robert f kennedy after interrupting his own indiana campaign schedule—humours a very smitten young girl @ an indianapolis daycare in 1968. 😢
“Bye-bye I’ve gotta go now
“Where are you going?”
“Oh I don’t know, going to speak to some grown ups I think. That’s not nearly as much fun.”

Rest in Peace, John Fitzgerald Kennedy. May 29th, 1917 - November 22nd, 1963. “Now, I think that I should have known that he was magic all along. I did know it— but I should have guessed it could not last. I should have known that it was asking too much to dream that I might have grown old with him and see our children grow up together. So, now he is a legend, when he would have preferred to be a man. I must believe that he does not share our suffering now. At least he will never know whatever sadness might have lain ahead. He knew such a share of it in his life that it always made you so happy whenever you saw him enjoying himself. But now he will never know more — not age, nor stagnation, nor despair, nor crippling illness, nor loss of any more people he loved. His high noon kept all the freshness of the morning, and he died then, never knowing disillusionment.” - Jacqueline Lee Bouvier Kennedy Onassis.

Caroline Kennedy plays in the pool with uncle Robert Kennedy and her cousins, June 1964.
"John Kennedy's daughter has eagerly joined Bob's family. 'She's my pal,' he says fondly. But there is a special feeling for Caroline who, at 6, understands the tragedy of her father's death as her brother John does not."
“‘Anything that comes up involving a father, like Father’s Day at school, I always mention Bobby’s name. Caroline shows him her report cards.’ says Jackie.” - LIFE Magazine, 1964.

The Newsreader to end with Season Three, and Season Three's release postponed until 2025
Well that is a heartbreaking sentence to write. A double whammy of sadness. A sentence that I knew I one day will have to write, but it still doesn't make it any easier.
I'm sure you've all seen this article by now. As sad as I am to see this, all good things must unfortunately come to an end. Even the show I've dedicated myself to so fiercely for nearly three years.
What the entire team behind the show has managed to achieve in such a relatively short time is incredible. It feels like we've spent longer with these electric characters and that gripping storyline, but in reality it's only been for twelve episodes, and we are very lucky to still have six more to go.
It has been an immense joy getting to spend time with The Newsreader, and I'm so extremely proud of each and every one of the people involved. They're really my telly family now. You can count on me to bring you all the Newsreader joy from all characters' and creators' perspectives for the remainder of 2024, and into 2025 with Season Three 💖

“accepting on behalf of robert francis kennedy is kerry kennedy ….
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
the presidential medal of freedom is awarded to robert francis kennedy. born into a revered family of service, robert f. kennedy forged a path toward freedom that endures today — guided by the constitution, as his conscience. he was a key strategist to his brother’s successful campaigns for senate and the presidency before serving as attorney general, senator, and a presidential candidate himself. with deep empathy and resolve, powerful prose and poetry, he focused the nation’s moral compass on the cause of civil rights, the dignity of the poor, and the ripples of hope we can each cast as we choose not division, not hatred, not violence, or lawlesssness, but love, wisdom, and compassion toward one another.”
